The Best Restaurants in River Oaks

"When on the hunt for pizza in River Oaks, this pizza place in the area delivers. The Los Angeles Michelin-recognized pizza restaurant opened its second Texas restaurant in Houston, bringing its beloved cacio e pepe pizza and a new rendition, especially for Space City. The Tex-Mex pizza features spiced porchetta, roasted tomato chipotle salsa, parsley cilantro salsa verde, fior di latte, shaved serrano chile, and several Mexican spices. Pair it with a glass of wine or one of its special cocktails, including its Ravello Ranch Water or a Negroni di Napoli, made with a rose-infused gin. Diners interested in recreating the experience at home can purchase chef Daniele’s slow-dough to-go ($5), along with Pizzana’s San Marzano tomato sauce ($3), and fior de latte for $10." - Marcy de Luna, Brittany Britto Garley

Helmed by executive chef Daniele Uditi, the new River Oaks Shopping Center outpost offers Pizzana’s signature cacio e pepe pizza, with provoloncino di agerola, fior di latte, parmigiano crema, and cracked black pepper. Aside from pasta and salads, Houston diners are also treated to their city-specific dishes like its Tex-Mex pizza, which comes with spiced porchetta, roasted tomato chipotle salsa, parsley cilantro salsa verde, fior di latte, shaved serrano chile, and several Mexican spices, plus frozen Aperol slushies." - Brittany Britto Garley, Kayla Stewart

Pizzana Review - River Oaks - Houston - The Infatuation

"If you’re shopping in River Oaks and can’t think about anything but Neapolitan-style pizza, then go to Pizzana. The Los Angeles transplant with celebrity backing mostly makes satisfactory pizzas, like the $21 margherita with fresh mozzarella. But occasionally a pie arrives slightly under-baked with a knot of raw dough in the crust, a surprise no one gets excited about. Plus, the inside of the restaurant has all the charm of a recently closed mall kiosk. Either take a pizza to-go or drive a couple extra miles to Pizzaro’s Pizza Napoletana." - Chelsea Thomas

The 18 Hottest New Restaurants in Houston, July 2024

"Houston welcomed the Los Angeles favorite Pizzana into River Oaks Shopping Center. The brainchild of couple Candace and Charles Nelson, actor Chris O’Donnell and his wife and partner Caroline, and pizzaiolo Daniele Uditi, the Houston location boasts the beloved selection of pizza, pasta, and salads that made the restaurant a mainstay of California’s dining community. Consider the creste alla vodka, which is dusted with Calabrian chile, and don’t miss the pizzaiolo’s pizzas, which features Pizzana’s lauded two-day fermented “slow dough.”" - Brittany Britto Garley, Kayla Stewart

We kept passing Pizzana since it's nearby, and finally decided to try it about 5 weeks ago. We've now gone a handful of times, as it's now in our rotation of restaurants. Their pizza variety is fun and tasty. I could go without the cream on top of what seems to be all or most types of pizza, but we've learned to request that. The pasta is simple but a tasty addition to any meal. Their serves are extremely personable. We've had slow service, but it was overshadowed by how friendly the waitstaff are. Family-friendly environment but upscale, as far as pizza-oriented restaurants go. It isn't your typical pizza joint, and I enjoy that. They also offer cocktails. I recommend the spinaci pizza.

Google
Great food! Delicious and 10/10 pizza review from New Yorkers. I would say the restaurant could be better if it worked on its atmosphere. The lights are too bright and the tv is too distracting. If they focused on making it more intimate I think this restaurant could be a hit spot. It’s too quiet here

I’m Italian and I was struggling in finding a real Italian pizza in Houston. Pizzana hands down make the best pizza in town so far. Also the vibes are chill, the place and the atmosphere is comfortable, and the music selection is really great too. They have traditional pizzas but also new seasonal adds on the menu. special options (also for vegan). Totally recommend!

I think if one considers this as more for ambience, to hang out with friends, rather than an OMG food destination, you’d be okay. Diavolo pizza and Negroni at Pizzana today. Rose flavored gin, Campari and Gallo vermouth. (Note: Ummmm, I really dont think using a rose flavored gin is a great idea; possibly a really bad idea…they offered to remake it with regular gin, but I was driving, and declined. I did recommend they give a heads up if anyone orders a Negroni and to give them the option of regular gin). I’ve been meaning to get over here to sample, like, forever. Sausage spiciness of the Diavolo was nice. Chuckled at the one sad little leaf of basil garnish. Was it VPN? Sort of. I liked that the center wasnt too wet. Not too bad as pizza goes. Gotta be eaten hot as the crust will get kind of cardboardy when cool. I wouldn’t do a second visit for the pizza but could consider it as a get together with friends destination. In other words, think of it as paying for the lovely ambiance and the pizza as free. Staff was nice, friendly, accommodating, professional. Was solo on this visit . A pizza and cocktail did set me back $40 plus tip. And the cost for parking.

I recently dined at Pizzana, and it was an outstanding experience that truly deserves its Michelin star recognition. The attention to detail in every dish is evident, and the flavors are exceptional. The Neapolitan pizzas are a highlight, featuring perfectly charred crusts and top-quality ingredients. The staff is knowledgeable and courteous, enhancing the overall dining experience. Pizzana is a must-visit for anyone seeking a world-class meal in an inviting atmosphere. It’s clear why this place has earned such a prestigious accolade!

Happy hour margarita Pizza is 1/2 off. Gluten free crust is amazing to say the least. Lovely patio and great service. Could be a bit loud inside with tables being in close proximity to others but food is served fast. They also have the cutest placemats!

Wonderful Group Dining Experience at Pizzana! We recently hosted a party of 18 at Pizzana, and it was a truly pleasant experience. The service was exceptional—our server was outstanding, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable, ensuring every detail was handled seamlessly. The food was delicious, the atmosphere welcoming, and the staff made our large group feel comfortable and well taken care of. Hosting such a big party can sometimes be challenging, but Pizzana made it effortless and enjoyable. Thank you to the entire team for making our gathering so memorable! Highly recommend Pizzana for both intimate meals and larger group celebrations.

Google
We finally gave Pizzana a chance and we've been missing out! My wife and I shared the Rucola salad, Broccolini and the pizza Diavola (see my pictures). The only reason I'm giving the food 4/5 is that our salad was on the salty side and the pizza had a little too much honey for our taste, but everything was fresh and delicious. The Broccolini was unlike anything I would've expected. Grilled Broccolini topped with ricotta, roasted garlic and chunky tomato sauce. We ate all of it and brought home leftover pizza and salad. Service and ambiance are great too! Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food came out very quickly and the music was very chill. We are definitely coming back here soon for date night. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu! Highly recommended.

Yelp
Stopped by Pizzana to take advantage of happy hour treats prior to a movie at the River Oaks Theater. I always love a good a happy hour and Pizzana did not disappoint! HH Deets - M-F 3-6 - 50% off beer and wine by the glass - "pizza and antipasta specials" which are subject to change. We went with the pepperoni pizza, cavolfiore, and Caesar salad. We enjoyed all of the items especially considering the happy hour pricing. The service was great! We couldn't decide what to order and she never lost patience with us. She also let us try a few wine options before settling in on the one we wanted. Dining area Is midsize so I would consider making reservations for prime hours. We went at 5 o'clock on a Thursday and had no problems walking in. There is metered parking outside of the restaurant. The first 30 minutes were free. I ended up paying a little over two dollars for parking which seems fair. Overall recommend for consistent quality, especially if you can catch the happy hour deals!

Yelp
Pizzana is a fantastic addition to Houston's ever-growing pizza scene! We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and lucked out--it wasn't busy at all. Talk about perfect timing! This cozy little gem is tucked away in the River Oaks District, one of my favorite spots in the city. The staff was incredibly sweet and super helpful, walking us through the menu when we couldn't decide between a few options. Here's what we tried: * Cacio e Pepe (8/10): We got this classic pizza and added beef pepperoni--a rare find that we were excited to try! While the pepperoni was delicious, it made the pizza a little soggy and oily (our bad for tweaking it). Even so, it was still pretty tasty. * Caesar Salad (10/10): Absolute perfection! The croutons were fresh, the dressing was spot on, and every bite was incredible. Definitely a must-try. * Corbarina (9/10): This was a standout and my husband's favorite. The tomato sauce was amazing, and the combination of squash blossom and burrata made for a super fresh and unique pizza. One detail I loved? The elevated stands on the tables--they keep the pizza off the main surface, making more room for everything else. Such a clever touch! While it's tough to say if Pizzana stands out in Houston's super competitive pizza scene, it's absolutely worth a visit. Whether you're planning a casual outing or a fun date night, this spot is a solid choice!

Yelp
I came here for a date night and was really excited to try this pizza place that has been on my radar for a while. Pizzana is located in the River Oaks area and showcases a very sleek and modern interior seating area. Pizzana is from LA and has won several food awards, most notable being the Michelin bib gourmand. We started the night off with a Polazzo paloma and an ostia old fashion. For the pizzas, we enjoyed a cacio e pepperoni and the Margherita pizza. - Cacio e pepperoni: honestly, this pizza was a bit salty and the pepperoni overpowered the parmigiano crema. I think getting the regular cacio e pepe is the way to go. - Margherita- I really enjoyed this pizza. The crusts were light and airy and the ingredients they used were very fresh and bright. This is a pizza that I would order again. The service here was really nice. We were taken care of well throughout our dining experience. I also really appreciated how they use elevated pizza stands so that your pizza doesn't take up a ton of space on your table. Honestly, it is hard for me to say that pizzana truly stands out against other pizza shops, especially with the competitive scene in Houston, but it is definitely worth a try and makes for a great date night!

Yelp
Pizzana came recommended by both a friend AND the guy helping me out at LensCrafters next door (he recommended the broccolini!), so I thought it was worth dropping in to check out their happy hour. Happy hour is M-F, 3-6 pm with half off margherita pizzas and margaritas (spoiler alert: both were delicious). Very friendly service, and we were able to snag a table even without a prior reservation. I tried everything on the happy hour menu and recommend all of it. I would say the environment is casual but saw lots of folks there on date nights as well. We will be back!

Yelp
Pizzana was good, but thought it was overpriced and I'm not sure I would return. Pizzana serves pizza in an upscale ambience. The first ding was the paid parking in front. Cost was $2 for parking in the lot. It was busy when we visited. We came for an early dinner on a Sunday and lucklly we were only a table of two as all other tables were reserved. I was happy to see that there are many vegetarian options. We decided to try one more unique option and one more classic settling on the corbarina and the funghi. The pizzas both tasted delicious, but the second ding was how soggy the corbarina pizza got. Although it was flavorful, it was too difficult to eat. The pizzas were also very thin and not that filing.

Yelp
Pizzana Pizzana, why did it take me so long to find you. I'm not sure who makes the pizzas but they definitely "put there foot in it" in the kitchen. Customer service is top tier. I've diner here twice during happy hour. I love that they have a beef pepperoni option. The cheese pizza is smacking too. I also had some fried cauliflower item( I can't remember the name) but those were sensational too. There's parking. However, it's only free for the first 30 mins and then you have to pay.

Yelp
We came here for a double pizza date with friends on a Sunday. Located in River Oaks, right across from Barnes & Noble, the restaurant's private lot only offers valet parking, so we opted for nearby free parking. The sleek, contemporary interior sets the stage for a modern take on classic Neapolitan pizza. We kicked off with refreshing frozen Aperol Spritz and shared a selection of pizzas and a salad. Here's how they stacked up: Cacio e Pepe, 4/5 - Initially, I worried this might be too plain, but it turned out to be my favorite. It was creamy and cheesy with a subtle hint of pepper. Bianca, 4/5 - this white pizza was solid, featuring great flavors from sausage, cheese, and red onion. The addition of shaved fennel added a nice texture. Carnivoro, 3.5/5 - A classic option with a pleasant tomato flavor and quality toppings. It was good but didn't stand out as much as the others. Vodka, 3/5 - Although the flavor was nice, the pizza was excessively greasy, leaving the crust soggy and causing oil to drip when held sideways. The crusts weren't as light and airy as I expected for a Neapolitan style, though they tasted fresh. Overall, Pizzana offers a solid pizza experience with high-quality ingredients. I appreciated the elevated pizza stands, which provided extra table space. We'll definitely return to explore their pasta and other pizzas.

Yelp
Had a great Sunday dinner here and was easy to get in! LOVED the Caesar salad, we both raved about it and couldn't put it down. I'd even order just this salad for a meal because it was that good!!! The cacio e Pepe pizza was delicious, loved the thin crust pizza. I think we had the diavola pizza (if not it was the vodka) but either way it was delicious and had a little kick of spice. It was delish! Service was great and they helped us with recommendations. Vibes inside were good, quiet night but it was a Sunday!

Yelp
I absolutely loved this pizza spot! It is super cute inside and has great HH deals. We got a pepperoni pizza for half off for about 11 bucks. Several drinks are offered on HH as well! I loved the pizza and cauliflower dish. The salad was great as well. I will be coming back in the future for sure to try other pizzas!

Yelp
Located in the river oaks area. Picked up the cacio e pepperoni and neo Margherita. Was pretty authentic, very similar to pizzas I had in Italy. The dough was light and airy and the toppings were fresh.

Yelp
We checked out Pizzana on a double date with our friends on a nice Sunday evening. Located on the corner of West Gray and Shepherd, it's at the heart of the River Oaks area opposite some of the most wealthy neighborhoods in Houston. The parking in front of Pizzana looked like it was 30 minute parking so we parked across the street in the parking garage behind B&N. We made a reservation ahead of time and there were no issues with seating our table of 4. The interior of the restaurant was modernly designed and clean yet not too upscale; people dressed in everything from t shirts to polos. We ordered a bunch of pizzas to share for the table. The pizzas are slightly larger than personal size so we ended up finishing 4 pizzas and a salad. We got the following; cacio e pepe, vodka, Bianca, carnivoro. The vodka was extremely greasy for some reason compared to the other pizzas and was my least favorite due to that; you can easily drip a puddle of orangy grease per slice and the crust was fully soaked by it as well. The cacio e Pepe pizza was very creamy and tasty. The carnivoro had toppings that you couldn't go wrong with and used some pretty good quality meats. The Bianca was also good, I'm a fan of the sausage that they're using for the topping and the onions are a good touch. Overall, it was a solid pizza spot, with pizzas each between $20/30 per pie, and everything seems to be made fresh with decent ingredients. Could definitely see us coming back to try their pasta and salads and some different pizzas next time.

Yelp
Post-Nutcracker Market Lunch with Mom and Manuel. The Spinach Pizza was just light enough to hit the spot after 4 hours of walking the market today.

Yelp
Full disclose, this was a delivery order, and while I'm sure the Pizzana restaurant is delightful, and the staff wonderful, I can only speak to the quality of food. Their website was easy to navigate, and the food pictures were enticing. I've driven by their location and it is inviting. The online menu u has many options from pizzas, to salads, to anti-pasta and dessert options. As a self proclaimed pizza connoisseur, I had to try one of their pies. I usually wouldn't comment on the pizza box, but it was actually attractive, with a sticker to ensure the pizza made it to its destination untampered with. There was also nice postcard looking notification on the box explaining their reward system. The pizza itself was incredible. I am a huge fan of Napoletana, wood fired, and brick over pizzas. The pizza looked incredible. The dough and crust was airy and flavorful. The toppings were plentiful and delicious. I wish, for the price, the pizza was bigger. I definitely would have ordered another pizza had I known. Some tips: If you are hungry or serving multiple people I would suggest ordering a few pizzas. You can add Berkshire Fennel Sausage to your pizza. I did, and it was delicious. Sign up for their rewards and receive a free live of cake on your birthday plus other benefits. If you like baking your pizzas from home and have a setup to do so and can actually purchase the components like their dough, sauce, etc. I will definitely try their pizza again. Next time I hope to go to their brick and mortar location. Cheers!!

Yelp
Crazy delicious! Best caprese salad of my life, and I'm kind of a snob when it comes to caprese salads. It's the olive oil, so uniquely flavored, rich beyond belief. The pizza was super good. Drinks were sufficiently strong. Surprisingly good experience at a place we stopped in on a whim.

Yelp
Picked up from this spot on a Saturday evening. Expectations were high given reviews/buzz and some disappointment from another pizza spot that didn't live up to the hype. They were busy-upbeat atmosphere, modern decor, bright from the large windows with a good size dining area and nice Bar. Parking was Metered. We ordered three pizzas (one size and looked like a medium). Slow dough-fermented for two days. Crust was medium and airy with a good balance of sauce, cheese and toppings. You don't see Beef Pepperoni often so we ordered it with the Funghi pizza. Tasty Pepperoni and great alternative for those who don't eat Pork. Spinaci was the one and stole the show-Parmigiano Crema took it over the top. Cheese was also enjoyed. We should've ordered Cacio e Pepe-next time. Our order was ready when promised and service was friendly. A handful of locations mostly on the West Coast. Award winning pizza that lives up to the hype!

Yelp
Heard about this spot from a friend! Our server was super nice and helpful. Came on a friday evening to celebrate my birthday and really enjoyed everything. For drinks, i got a classic margarita and it was excellent. Good alcohol ratio. For apps, we ordered the caesar salad (classic) and the broccolini (beautifully roasted and loved the addition of ricotta and had a small kick to it). Would get again! For the pizzas, got the Carnivaro (for the meat lovers) and the Funghi pizza (our personal favorite. Really enjoyed the sweetness of the caramelized onions it added to the pizza and plenty of mushrooms to go around). For dessert, really liked the chocolate cake (moist and had a delicious gelato icecream to be paired with it, not overly sweet). We even got an extra scoop of gelato as complimentary for it being my birthday. There was a good amount of seating. I did make reservations ahead of time, as i'm sure it would get packed on a weekend. Parking - paid $2 for 2 hours (scan the barcode to pay). Restrooms - Clean and gender neutral

Yelp
Hmm. You ever go to a place and really want to like it but slightly get disappointed so you continue to eat to find good things to find? Kinda felt like that here. I would 3.5 this place. The pizza was so salty it hurt. But!! Everything else was good. The regular margherita pizza was nice. I wish the basil was chopped. The pasta was definitely home made and delish. Was this place mich. recommended? Please check salt levels on the meat please.

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because the pizza was so great that I ate an embarrassing amount of it. --- --- --- My wife discovered Pizzana and said that the next time we go into Houston that this is where we should eat. I am not one to argue about such things, so we did exactly that about a week and a half later. We were very torn between about 4 different pizzas on which one to order. So we picked 2, but upon discovering just how thin they were, and how much of a bottomless pit I was, we ordered a third. In fairness to me, I woke up early that morning and played basketball for a couple of hours and hadn't eaten much. But I did eat an unspeakable number of slices, aka 11 slices. We started off with the Caprese di Bufala. The thing I really liked about this were the tomatoes. I am not a fan of tomatoes in general, but these were so high quality that I was all over them. And these cheese was great too. As for pizza, our favorite was the Cacio e Pepe. The Margherita Al Crudo and the Vodka were enjoyable in their own way, but the Caccio e Pepe was the star of the show. We finished with the Torta Al Cioccolata and it might have been the best thing we ate. Just like with tomatoes, I don't even like dark chocolate, but this was so good that I couldn't stop eating it. And the ice cream was the perfect compliment. This experience was a great one. I wish Pizanna was closer to us because we'd be regular patrons.

Yelp
I keep hearing about this place, so eventually the powerful combination of word of mouth and FOMO kicked in, and I gave them a try! You can tell they're straight from LA with a look at their prices, but I'm no stranger to a pricey pie! Their pizzas are offered in one size only, with a few welcomed toppings (like beef pepperoni add ons). Takeout available, that was my pick, and in 30 minutes, my pizza was ready. I will say, for takeout specifically, the parking options are less than ideal. Hit me up if you know of any non pay to park options! This is quite a busy little block! After all of the hustle and bustle, Im proud to say that my pizza was pretty dang good. The cacio e Pepe was well if not slightly over seasoned, which was a beautiful surprise because there are so many ways a Cacio e Pepe pizza could go wrong! The fresh black pepper was the perfect exclamation point to a pizza with good texture and harmonious flavors. I added beef pepperoni to my pie. It didn't help it, but it also didn't hurt. Although, I'm not the biggest fan of their slow dough, the pie was solid. Bonus points for the heating instructions and details about the ingredients on the box. If I suck it up, and adhere to the pay to park experience, I'll def be back for dine in. It seems like a great spot for date night or dinner with friends!

Yelp
First time we went we were told that there was a 2 hour wait time on a Sunday evening. So made a reservation for next time. Once we arrived, we were promptly seated. Our host was Angelina and very friendly. They were quick to provide us with water and go over the menu with us. We ordered the following: 1. Funghi: roasted mushrooms with caramelised onions. It was balanced and delicious. Ordered it to go another time to take to a get together. 2. Squash blossom: very pretty, and flavours were robust BUT super runny and heavy red sauce which made the bread/crust soggy and difficult to enjoy. We made our host aware and they informed the kitchen and took it off our tab. 3. Cacio Pepe: simple and nothing crazy. We added beef pepperoni and it was okay. Overall, it's a decent pizza place with amazing mushroom pizza

Yelp
We absolutely loved this place. The pizza was amazing! And the Caesar salad was enough for 2 people and the dressing was delicious. One of the best Caesars I've ever had. Warning there is a lot of garlic lol so if you're on a date, beware. Service was great. High recommend!

Yelp
Plenty of high quality ingredients and a sleek and modern interior make for a pleasant dining experience. Service was polite and there's a decent allotment of parking for the amount of available seating. Some touches that I liked were the elevated pizza stands that keep the pies of your table and to the side; it left plenty of room for you to enjoy your food. The Slushy Aperol Spritz was a cutesy drink, that was tasty and strong. The pizza offerings/toppings were well crafted and a bit understated, not lacking flavor, but just not gimmicky. The choices went together well and didn't clash. I feel confident that you could order anything here and would really like it. Crust was nice and crisp with a light chew, exactly what you're hoping for. There's some salads (we enjoyed the Caesar!) and a couple of pastas as well. A handful of apps and cocktails round out the mostly pizza focused menu. A few desserts also can be ordered, the salted caramel pana cotta won me over. My only gripe here is the price. The total before tip for 2 Pizzas, 1 Pasta, 1 Salad, 2 small desserts, and a single drink came out to about $145. The value here doesn't quite get over the hurdle for me. Everything was good but the pizzas and pastas aren't $25 per good. Not to discourage you from trying, just to make the community aware. Still really yummy!

Yelp
My new favorite pizza spot! Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh!! This review is long overdue. The service was impeccable and the food exquisite.

Yelp
The pizzas here were very good. We had been hearing all about Pizzana and finally got to try them out. I would recommend making a resy since they get really busy. We stuck with just the pizzas since that's what they're known for. We got the cacio e pepe, Bianca, Margherita, and the short rib pizza. Our favorites were the cacio e pepe and the Bianca. The Margherita was still very good, but the short rib was our least favorite. The short rib pizza was too greasy. For dessert, we got the panna cotta. It was vanilla bean panna cotta with salted caramel and caramelized pretzels. It was so good, we ordered a second panna cotta. Overall, a good place to get some quality pizzas. They do run a bit more on the expensive side, just FYI

Yelp
Middle of the week dinner, we were sat right away. Friendly server was at our table quickly to take our drink order and offer suggestions on food since this was our first visit. The two appetizers and pizza were delicious. Chacio e Pepe pizza, one of the best sellers, did not disappoint with a lovely crust. Broccolini and ricotta appetizer is very tasty with Calabrian chilis. Cesar salad was cold and crisp with a nice amount of shaved Parmesan. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes

Yelp
After seeing a video about one of LA's best pizza spots opening here in Houston I knew I had to come. Over just the past year Houston's pizza game has really stepped it up so there's a lot more competition nowadays. We came expecting it to be a casual pizza joint but were surprised to see it was an actual restaurant in the rice military/montrose area. The menu has a variety of appetizers, salads and pizza but for our first visit we decided to only get the pizza. They have pizza with white sauce and red sauce so we had to get one of each. For red we got the Carnivoro which basically had pepperoni and sausage. For the white sauce we had the short rib pizza with parmigiana crema. The short rib pizza was our favorite of that two. We loved the crust of the pizza but felt they both needed a little more sauce. While the pizzas were both good there wasn't anything that was mind blowing. Their crust is definitely one of the best in town but there are some spots with better toppings. Overall, if you're a pizza lover I think this spot is definitely worth a try. However, the prices are a bit higher than what I would typically pay for pizza. We spent 60+ just on two pizzas alone. But I suppose you are paying a bit more for the nice ambiance and service they provide.

Yelp
I dropped by Pizzana shortly after they opened. I've visited them in Dallas and was excited to have them here in River Oaks! The good: the pizzas were great. The Diavola and the Pepperoni were top notch all around. The restaurant has great design and sure doesn't feel like a Starbucks anymore. Staff are really passionate about the brand and the pizzas. Oh, and the Panna Cotta was life changing! The less-so: the bar was really struggling on the night we visited. Our first round didn't show up until midway through the appetizer. Our dessert drink didn't show up until after we long since finished dessert. For the price point of the drinks ($16), they really need to up their game. But the time you visit, this may be resolved. I also had no issues with the price point of the pizzas, but when bundled with the prices of drinks, apps, and dessert, this quickly becomes a pricy pizza outing. At the same time, it's a unique experience. So just know what you're getting into. All that said, very much looking forward to my next Pizzana pie. Their composition is just too hard to resist and a to-go order just too simple to place. Welcome to Houston!

Yelp
It's been a minute since I dined in for pizza. However, I will keep coming back to Pizzana for the food, service and ambiance. When my wife booked a Sunday night reservation for pizza I'll admit I was skeptical. And when we arrived early I figured we would just tuck into an open table. Nope. The restaurant was full and we grabbed a glass of wine while we waited the full 30 minutes before sitting down. So what's the buzz about? For starters, this former Starbucks coffee shop has an entirely new design and vibe with lots of windows and cozy lighting. Our server Isabella had great recommendations and was always there when we needed her. She was sociable and had us laughing all night long. We started with the Cavolfiore, a cauliflower appetizer and the Chop salad that our daughter is still talking about. Great balance of flavors, meat and cheese. Then on to the main event - pizza. We went basic with the Pepperoni, which in the Neapolitan style is so good and has the pepperoni cups. If you know, you know what I'm saying. We also had the Cacio E Pepe that had great flavor and was a modest shift from the classics. Isabella recommended combining the pepperoni with the Cacio E Pepe but we resisted. However when we had both pizzas at the table we tried it by adding some pepperoni to the Cacio and she was right. The meal was complimented with a bottle of Barolo and Espresso martinis at the end. I'm already thinking about our next visit. Give them a try and make sure to have a reservation.

Yelp
I had some Uber Eats credits and was craving pizza last night. I like Fuzzy's but not every location so it's always hit or miss with their delivery. I started searching the Uber Eat pizza options and came to Yelp to read the reviews for Pizzana. The reviews were enough to make me want to give it a try. I have found my new go-to Pizza!!! I got the margherita pizza for the special they had running. Next time, I will get the Funghi. The pizza arrived cold, but that wasn't a problem at all. I normally eat 1 and sometimes 2 pieces of pizza. Embarrassingly, I finished almost the entire pizza! My one lone piece I had left is in the oven as I type this. The crust is so fresh and crispy. Everything about that pizza was perfection.

Yelp
Parking was a bit hectic, but the food and service were excellent! The Cacio e Pepe pizza was definitely both my husband's and my favorite bite of the day, and I can see why there's so much hype. It's creamy and delicious with the taste of fragrant black pepper on top of everything else. Pignatelli was nice, too, with the most moist braised beef we've had on a pizza. All in all, a great albeit crowded place.

Yelp
I expected this to be just another pizza place, but wow was I surprised. The food was fantastic! We came here opening weekend - and usually you expect a few hiccups with food or service, but everything was so smooth - service was wonderful, food was delicious, ambience was very nice. They explained that they specialize in Neapolitan pizzas - their dough is fermented over 2 days and they are very particular about their tomatoes, which are flown in from Naples. We were a group of 5 and we got an appetizer, 3 pizzas, and 3 desserts - and we were very full! We started with the broccolini - which was good (4/5), but I wish the broccolini were more roasted or charred than they were for being "wood fired" - they seemed more steamed to me. As we were mostly vegetarian, we got the cacio e pepe, vodka (without the meat and double the chiles), and funghi pizzas. They were all delicious - most thought the vodka pizza was the best- it had a smokiness to it, which was really nice. The caramelized onions in the funghi pizza gave it an amazing taste. And the cool parmigiano crèma on the cacio e Pepe pizza was unexpected and tasty. We got 2 of the chocolate tortas and 1 of the panna cotta for dessert- they were both so yummy. We weren't sure what to expect from the oil cake in the chocolate torta - but it gave it such a moist texture. We were glad we got 2! Panna cotta was also really good - and apparently the restaurant favorite. I think this might be our new favorite pizza place in Houston and we'll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

Yelp
Finally tried this place after hearing a lot of hype about it. You have to pay for parking, unless you park in the garage across the street. Tried the cacio e pepe pizza, which is what it's known for. It was good but not super extraordinary. Some parts of it also tasted burnt. Also tried the carnivoro, margherita al crudo, and classic pepperoni pizza. They were all delicious, but pretty pricey for pizza.

Yelp
Food was good but not sure it's worth it. Service was good and our waitress was attentive and nice. What I don't understand is how you serve a $17 bottle of wine for $60 at a place that seems so casual with children running and yelling around your table. It wasn't romantic or even feel like a dinner you should pay $200 for...we probably won't be back. For that price you can enjoy an Italian dinner in a better environment. I still rate it 3.5 stars because truly the food was good and I just expected a nicer place for being where it is.

Yelp
This was my first time dining here, and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The ambiance was welcoming, and sharing the experience with good friends made the evening even more special. Overall, the service was great too.

Yelp
Had the pleasure of visiting the LA location last year and can say that the Houston location lived up to the hype! We ordered the diavola pizza and crudo margherita. Both were delicious but the diavola is my fave. LOVEEEE their broccolini app, would come back just for this. Service was fast and friendly and the ambiance was nice, recommend!

Yelp
Restaurant is very clean, was pretty crowded when I came in. Our waitress was very attentive very nice! My reason for a 4/5 star review! Cacio e Pepe Pizza add pepperoni. Was my favorite pizza. 8.1 Margarita Pizza was decent sauce didn't stand out too much, crust had a bit of a chew to it. 7.3/10 Vodka Pasta was ok. Sauce was very good. But pasta was undercooked. Very small portion. 7.2/10. Caesar salad was probably my favorite item, fresh made croutons with a nice dressing. 8.6/10

Yelp
My wife's sibling in LA gave us the heads up that Pizzana was coming to Houston - and it was a must-try. My wife made the reservation that day for the next available slot - a few days later.  We were limited to make a reservation for 4 online, but we had a party of 5. We called ahead and staff were incredibly accommodating of this change. We arrived a few minutes earlier than the rest of our party, and staff were patient with us, and incredibly friendly. The tables in particular were incredibly unique - and clearly Pizzana is ready to accommodate pizzas on the tables with their unique mechanism! We ordered the broccolini, the vodka pizza, funghi pizza, and cacio e pepe pizza. Each was absolutely incredible. The spice and cheese on the broccolini was really tasty. The ingredients are sourced from Italy and it shows. Everything was fresh, and delicious, each pizza with its own unique taste profile. The cool cheese on top of the warm cacio e pepe pizza was a fascinating temperature element you would not expect from a pizza.  I didn't personally have a drink, but they looked delicious, even the Dr. Pepper And the chocolate cake and ice cream, and the panna cotta. Oof. So. Good. Staff were incredibly friendly and checked in often. I can't wait to come back and try the award winning margherita in the near future.

Yelp
The vibe is great. Expect a little wait time or book a reservation. Cacio E Pepe is the best pizza I've ever had.

Yelp
I had a wonderful time at pizzana . My overall experience was excellent and service was good . We got greeted right away and took our drink order. Also gave us time to look over the menu as well. For a pizza place the inside looks very nice and fancy. I would definitely come back again ! This is the list of what I got For starter I got the cesar salad what delicious best Cesar salad I had so far! The fried capers is an excellent touch to the salad I really enjoyed it ! I also got the broccolini dish was delicious as well it has a nice ricotta to sauce that really compliments the dish! High recommend to get these two appetizer. For the main course we got two different pizza . The funghi and the carnivoro . The funghi was my favorite pizza because I really enjoy mushrooms and the sweet Caramelize onions really brings the dish together . Also the carnivoro is good as well . It just a pizza with meat lover . Anything with meat is always good ! Then we finished with a this delicious dark chocolate cake that was super moist ! Best dark chocolate I've had so far ! However the only thing is that parking lot is super small and it's hard to park around that area . But overall I really enjoy this place and would come back again!

Yelp
To go order on a Friday night with Uber Eats. Pluses 1. Combo meat pizza was our favorite thin and crispy and tasty meats 2. Packing good and food stayed warm Areas to improve 1. Cacio pepperoni pizza good but the crust was burnt and charred and black. If this is a pizza place, they really need to improve on the quality and consistency of their pizza! 2. I know this place has several locations in California, but cmon, the pasta was epically small for $24 and it was not cooked enough. I just returned from 9 days in Milan, and this was not Al dente by any means, just not cooked enough! Interesting place to try out - they need to have their pizza crust not burnt when you are paying $28 per pizza! You are also getting California sized portions and their outrageous prices! So out of 3 items, only one was really edible. A 33 percent is the lowest I've reviewed in terms of meals I've had in Houston. High expectations but we were very, very disappointed. Also almost $90 for this evenings meal for two. This was a bust and not recommended at this time.

Yelp
Cozy corner with delicious notes of basil and fennel sausage. The freshness of the san marzano tomatoes reminded of the Sopranos As a pure veg Hindu, I was happy to find the Isckon approved basil crumbles on pizza. Sad to see I could not pair my pizza with hot chocolate (a classic combo). Our waitress was awesome and she had a phq 10. Signing off J

Yelp
Delicious but expensive. We tried the Diavola (salami +) and the Pignatiello (short rib +). Both were really tasty. The crust is very thin here if you like that kind of thing (which I do). The only downfall is that you might not be full after (I was still a bit hungry). Ultimately, I get why it's so pricey (the cheese and tomatoes are flown in from Italy, the dough is fermented for days, etc.) but I don't know if I personally want to continue to spend that much money here. There is good pizza out there with smaller price tags. BUT, if spending $20-$30 on a really thin pie works for you, then do it because it is actually quite delicious. While I get why the pizza is so expensive, I do wish their appetizers were a little more affordable though. $16 for a vegetable app is pretty steep. Almost forgot -- really tasty Panna cotta dessert!

Yelp
Saw this place on IG and I had to make it a visit and surely didn't get disappointed. The pizza was so good. Definitely a coming back for me. Just writting about it and I already want some cacio e Pepe that's a must when you come.

Yelp
Was excited to try this new spot, especially after seeing the rave reviews and award winning claims on the website. It fell very short of expectations. I will say it was a cute (slightly cramped) dinning room with nice design and decor. Our server was lovely as well so no issues there. I set a reservation days ahead of time but when I arrived I had to wait for a table to become available for around 30 minutes. They additionally don't have any type of waiting area just a skinny entrance hallway. There were other guests waiting as well and the hallway was lined with people at times. There were also people coming in for online orders and food delivery apps so it was kept busy. I'd like to additionally note it was rather warm in this hallway so standing for 30 minutes felt worse than usual. Food wise the broccolini was great though I felt the amount of whipped ricotta was excessive and consumed the flavor. The pizza dough was good as I did enjoy the crust of it. But the middle of the pizza was very soggy and limp which I can understand as it was a very thin pizza. The flavors on the pizza were whatever nothing outstanding and not worth the price point it was given. My drink was shockingly bad. The word limoncello should be removed entirely from the drink as it had absolutely no resemblance to any limoncello. It tasted like straight liquor with an ounce of lemon juice at most. All in all it was decent at best and I won't be coming back. There is better fresh pizza in Houston elsewhere.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to try this on a random Thursday afternoon. When you arrive, there is parking in a private parking lot, but you do have to pay the park. The parking was not expensive however for two hour minimum it was around $2.46 I believe. There is somebody checking to make sure that people have paid the meters. We were seated right away as we came in and greeted right away by our waitress who asked if we could get started with any drinks. I decided to try the espresso martini and the old-fashioned. Both were very good! For an appetizer, we decided on the artichoke dish and it was delicious. We probably could've ate 10 more of those! I highly recommend if you're indecisive on an appetizer dish, get this one, you will not be disappointed. For our entree, we split a cacio e pepe pizza. I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur of cacio e pepe and anytime I see it on a menu, I order it. Traditionally it's a pasta dish, but their spin on it is a pizza and they mentioned it's one of their more popular dishes. Since this particular pizza did not have protein, we opted to order grilled chicken on the side. The pizza was very good, although not exactly traditional. It still had a good flavor! The chicken was juicy, but at $10 for one chicken breast I thought it was a little overpriced, especially because the entire pizza was only $23. The ambience is casual and & nicely decorated. I would definitely go here again! It's a cute and flavorful addition to the area. My only reason for four stars is value for protein

Yelp
We came here to find one of the best pizzas in Houston and this did not disappoint. Love the dough and crust of this Neapolitan style pizza. Chewy and crispy with that charred crust. We got the Neo margarita pizza, the spicy salami pizza, and a Caesar. Every dish we got was delicious. Will be back again soon.

Yelp
This place is so good! Overall, delicious appetizers, pizza, and dessert. We will definitely be back! The parmesean cream is the bestt on the cacio e Pepe pizza. So delicious and really makes the pizza! The table favorite was the diavola- with the sweet and savory it is so delicious. The desserts our whole table loved - the sweet and salty in the panna cotta - the rich and yummy cake with ice cream. The service was great for us all and the inside is really nice!

Yelp
Ingredients are so fresh. Pizza is made to order. They have beef pepperoni! I repeat. They have beef pepperoni. I had to add to my pizza. It was so good. I went about an hour before they closed. Service was great. It was quiet and bright but full lighting ( don't ask me? You'll understand when you go). Definitely give this California pizza spot a try!
