"No, Pizzeria Leopold isn’t in Denver, but what’s a 15-minute detour west when pizza and cannoli are involved? The blistered, thin-but-still-sturdy crust is great, but it’s the toppings that make Leopold—part pizzeria and part Italian grocer—worth the drive. Choose from Palisade peaches, River Bear candied bacon, house-made meatballs, chicken cutlets, and roasted eggplant—just maybe not all on the same pizza. (Or on the same pizza. You do you.) Since you drove all that way, it’s best to settle into the cozy dining room, grab a beer, a pistachio cannoli, and pick up some Italian groceries and cold cuts on your way out." - Allyson Reedy

"The seats at the bar of this Lakewood successor to Deli Italia are the best in the house, offering an unobstructed view of pie after pie being assembled from start to finish — and what a finish it is, courtesy of beautifully blistered crusts that glisten with a brush of olive oil beneath the likes of garlic sauce, speck, spinach, and pepperoncini or goat cheese, roasted eggplant, arugula, and balsamic reduction." - Gigi Sukin, Paul Albani-Burgio, Ruth Tobias

There’s a reason they were voted best pizza recently. The food is top notch, including the salads and garlic knots. They have seen a large influx of business, so there are some challenges when it comes to service. We waited an hour for a table because there are several 6-top tables and plenty of parties of 2. We barely saw our server and I sat with an empty glass for about half the meal. We were not able to get focaccia to go or dessert because it was all sold out for the night by the time we could order. I might come back for carry out.

Absolutely delicious. Their homemade sourdough and pizza crust is second to none. Ambience inside and out is super cute. Great patio and view of the mtns and sunset. Pro tip- if you’re lactose intolerant/dairy free/vegan they have a cashew burrata that is outstanding. I don’t normally like nondairy alternatives like that but you wouldn’t even know it was cashew. Absolutely delicious.

The pizza was great. I had a 10 inch Roni and the crust was so crispy and delicious. We also had the focaccia appetizer and the EVOO with balsamic vinegar to dip, yum! Service was pretty great, the ladies could have been maybe a tad more friendly but it is what it is. Won’t deter me from visiting in the future.

Great food OK service and a great locals restaurant. Seems to be like a very friendly place to meet your friends and family for pizza. I had a little too much wine! The pizza we received was well done. 0 FLOP!! I am looking forward to coming again. Ideal for scenesters.

Great laid back atmosphere, order at the counter and seat yourself. We had pizza with meatballs for an app, it was all fantastic. Would love to go back and try some of the sandwiches. On a Thursday it was busy but had no issue finding a table.

The pizza was good, but other places very close are better. I expect to pay for a good pizza and salad. What I got was a joke. I paid $8.00 for a salad that was sad. The toppings were sparse and you should clearly state it is for one person. Ok so $2.00 for jalapeños, again average price but can you at least include some?! Was so excited to eat here, after trying it at a friends bday. I won’t be back not good enough for what I paid.

We made the long trek from Parker for the first time and boy are we glad we did! The meatball sandwich was delicious, we got the fungi bunch pizza which was excellent! The crust is extremely good. We finished with a tiramisu, which was perfectly executed! The staff was friendly and fast. We will return many times. Finally the actual restaurant reminded me of a cool hang out bar of my younger years. Top notch.

Google
8.6 on my personal DP scale, can definitely see why they've won the bracket for best pizza in Denver. Ton of flavor, crisp but not burnt crust, great crunch. Not that they need anymore kudos but I highly recommend. Great atmosphere for 90s kids. Great job Pizza Leo!!
