Stylish, high-energy venue for creative Asian-inspired vegan fare and sustainable cocktails.
"Planta Queen is a vegan restaurant in Coconut Grove with a sister restaurant in South Beach, which is also a solid fancy vegan option (although we like this location’s menu and relaxed atmosphere better). The dishes here aren’t perfect reproductions of the Asian foods they claim to imitate, but they’re still really good. And we've liked every plant-based dumpling, nigiri, and sushi roll we've had here. It's a great date night spot too." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino, virginia otazo
"Planta Queen is a vegan restaurant in Coconut Grove with a sister restaurant on South Beach. The dishes here aren’t perfect reproductions of the Asian foods they claim to imitate, but they’re still really, really good. The compressed watermelon and miso-glazed eggplant nigiri are tastier than a decent amount of Miami’s fish-based sushi. But what we really love about this place is the setting, which feels stylish, modern, and like somewhere you want to take that vegan you matched with on one of the apps." - ryan pfeffer, carlos c olaechea
"Modern and chic, this elevated Coconut Grove hotspot doles out Asian-inspired dishes typically laden with protein replaced by flavorful vegan renditions. Sushi fans will love rolls like baked crab roll (heart of palm), dragon roll (tempura broccoli), and unagi eggplant nigiri with truffle miso. Dumplings like sweet corn and spinach shitake do not disappoint. Singapore and Dan Dan noodles are two of the many options to slurp up." - Alona Martinez
"Inspired by chef David Lee’s travels throughout Asia, Planta Queen offers a completely vegan menu in a chic and vibe-y atmosphere. Housed on the second floor of the newly revamped Cocowalk center, it serves items like plant-based nigiri and sushi, small plates like jackfruit wings, and pad Thai slaw, alongside various dumplings. Large wok-prepared dishes, like the truffled fried rice, General Lee’s cauliflower, and chili peanut noodles, round out the menu." - Olee Fowler
"Planta Queen is an entirely vegan restaurant (they also have a sister restaurant in South Beach) in Coconut Grove. And even though the dishes here don’t quite do a pitch-perfect impression of the various Asian foods they claim to imitate, they’re still very good. Case in point: a vegan version of crab rangoon that doesn’t necessarily taste like crab rangoon, but is still one of the best fried dumplings in Miami—even before a dunk in the outstanding sweet and sour sauce. The compressed watermelon and miso-glazed eggplant nigiri are also tastier than a decent amount of Miami’s fish-based sushi. Planta Queen is very pretty too. The second-story restaurant has an open-air space, and is great for dates or special occasion dinners with a plant-based friend. Just please end the meal with the mochi, which are light and intensely flavorful." - Carlos C Olaechea
