No-frills Chinese-food specialist serving dumplings & traditional fare plus less familiar dishes.
"This Northern Chinese spot in Bridgeport does indeed make great potstickers. We always get the signature long, fried ones that look like crispy edible cigars. Curate your own dumpling feast with chili wontons and xiao long bao full of tender meat and broth while hanging in their dimly lit, low-ceilinged space with a few booths and larger tables for big groups. Want to branch out of dumplingville? Share some scallion pancakes and cumin lamb. And if you’re still hungry or just need your daily sugar fix, get the tang yuan for dessert. The tiny glutinous rice balls swimming in a light, herbal broth have a nutty black sesame paste and just enough sweetness to round out a meal. " - john ringor, adrian kane

"This casual spot in Bridgeport should change its name to Xiao Long Bao House because the XLBs are the best dumplings here. Each one always comes with a balanced meaty filling and a generous amount of rich broth. Occasionally, the wrapper does tend to break and the broth can be a bit too fatty, but, on a good day, Potsticker House's soup dumplings are fantastic. With its low ceilings, dining here can feel a bit like a basement party—but honestly, the dumplings make it way more exciting than the other basement parties we’ve gone to." - john ringor
"With its low ceilings and dim lighting, Potsticker House feels a little more like a basement than a full-sized house—but (specifics aside) this casual Chinese spot makes potstickers. While their potstickers are pretty good (along with the other dumplings on their menu) the one that tops the podium is their xiao long bao. That's because they're full of tender meat and rich comforting broth. The wrapper does tend to break occasionally and the broth can be a bit too fatty, but, on a good day, Potsticker House's soup dumplings are some of the best in the city. And with plenty of group seating, sharing baskets of XLBs with friends is the best way to have a meal here. Just make sure to save room for their tangyuan, the tiny glutinous rice balls filled with sweet black sesame paste that are a great dessert to round out your meal." - John Ringor
"As the name suggests, dumplings are king here. The xiao long bao is among the best in town and complemented with Northern Chinese specialties like steamed pork bao, wonton soup, veggie potstickers, and pan-fried smoked pork pancake." - Jeffy Mai
