Great atmosphere. Relaxing and smooth. Delicious bites. Reasonable prices on wine for a restaurant. Our server, Moe, was very friendly and attentive. It was a great experience to help unwind from a couple of stressful days. We'll be back now that we're moving into the city.

I recently visited Press Club, drawn in by its sleek atmosphere and promising cocktail menu. While the ambiance was stylish, my experience left me with mixed feelings, particularly regarding the service. Upon arrival, the staff seemed more preoccupied than welcoming, which created a rather uninviting atmosphere. As a person of color, I couldn’t help but notice a subtle discomfort that permeated the interactions. It felt as if the attentiveness extended to some guests did not quite reach others, which was disheartening. Good service is ultimately about genuinely attending to the needs of patrons, not elevating oneself to a position of authority that can come off as dismissive. The best experiences occur when staff focus on creating a welcoming environment rather than soothing their own insecurities through an inflated sense of importance. This approach can leave guests feeling undervalued, and unfortunately, that was the case here. Adding to the discomfort, I encountered a bartender who asked several inappropriate questions that felt invasive rather than engaging. This type of interaction not only detracted from the experience but also created an atmosphere where I felt hesitant to open up or enjoy the evening fully. It’s crucial for bartenders to strike a balance between being friendly and respecting personal boundaries. As for the cocktails, they were decent but not memorable. Given the reputation of the venue, I had expected a bit more creativity and flair. What stood out was the lack of personalized recommendations, which might have elevated the experience significantly. Overall, Press Club has potential, but the service fell flat, perhaps reflecting deeper issues of inclusivity as remarked by previous reviews. I hope future visits will show improvement, as a vibrant space like this deserves a more welcoming approach for everyone.

Found this place on a quick getaway weekend with my wife. So good we visited twice! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I could talk to the wine director about Spanish wine for hours. We wish y’all were in our hometown!

Nice wine bar right on Market St. Selection of wine by the glass was not huge, but the bartender was great in allowing me to taste multiple wines before settling on 4 for my flight. Snacks were good.

Had a fun time here! It’s a cool wine bar in Yerba Buena with a cool downstairs lounge. I came here with my friend for their 14th annual Harvest Festival and it was so fun to enjoy tastings from wineries from all over CA! They also had a live DJ that understood the vibe. It’s such a chill spot; I can’t wait to come back here. I also enjoyed the food that had: charcuterie board, Thai chicken lettuce wraps, and mini burgers. They paired well with the different wines I had. I’m amazed at this large selection. Highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite places to visit when in the area. It has a nice polished, sophisticated and laid-back atmosphere. A place you can go to relax with friends, your SO, or to network. I would recommend the Sikele Nero d' Avola, if you prefer red. The Lucien Crochet Sancerre Blanc is otherwise a nice choice. The best selections are done per bottle, be prepared for that. The bites are good, but don't come hungry. The service is average and nothing to write home about, just depends on who is working. This is still a great place to hang out. Overall I would recommend.

Mohsen (MO) the bartender, is straight up legit, good people. I came in early hot and fast for a 1&2 and ended up here longer because of MO. Decent wines by the glass, nice atmosphere, I will see Mo again for sure on my next drop in.

A gem in the busy city. It’s a quieter wine bar that offers a good selection of local and imported wines compared to its regular bar peers. Great ambience and definitely a place to actually hear your friends and not just the music.

We visited press club again last night and it really is my favorite bar, full stop. The hospitality here is like nothing else - Mo and the gang are the best bar staff I've ever known and I'm grateful they're here, grateful this wine list is so outstanding, and grateful for the moments spent with friends here over the years so far and to come. Most of the best bottles I've ever enjoyed have been here - there is such an array of unique and uncommon producers and grapes, something for everyone is on this list. The vibe is so spacious, comfortable, and high-end, but the bottles run the full gamut on price and can be quite affordable. We toasted the opportunity to be here together at this moment in time and what a gift that is. Ps: order the tinned salmon! It's so good!

One of my favorite wine bars in San Francisco is the Press Club the stylish underground wine bar. This is a great place to unwine and enjoy a good glass of wine in the evening . I came here for an European Affair to chat with the Bay Area Friends of Europe about the latest happenings in Europe and San Francisco. I had to represent my heritage for the motherland Spain ( but I'm a proud USA and San Franciscan by birth guy). Everybody represented here from France to the Ukraine. Lots of the chat was around the bitter and sometimes sweet European wine with a bit sampling of course. I am more of a Northern California wine person so I had to do compare and contrast testing myself. Of course my first go to red wine is Pinot Noir and it was from the Salad Bowl region of California called the " Gularte". On the Press Bar menu the red wine was described as "The passion and joy Hunter Pence brought to the SF Giants in 2012"(Yes, Yes, I know the feeling). Yes, it was a sip of joy. Had to school a few people about Reverend Pence and the 2012 Giants .After another glass of the Gularte, I then headed to get something from Southern France a red wine called Castelmaure Col des Vents and the Press Bar Menu called it " Pure Fun". It was fire in a glass. Then I had to have a toast tribute to the motherland Spain with a Madrid red wine called Zestos Old Vine Garnacha. The Press Bar menu described this as " creates a beat in your head. "So Fresh & So Clean, Clean, Clean" Had to get a refill. When you celebrate a traditional European Birthday don't you forget with all due respect The birthday boy or girl has to pay for all the drinks and pick up the bar check

Amazing place for wine and dine! The location is underground and very quite during the time I went. I don't know much about wine, but definitely, I'll be back for much better vibes.

Food was great, service is phenomenal, and ambiance is amazing. You have to go. The price is decent. $14 for the cheapest glass of wine.

I came here recently for a social gathering of about a dozen people. It's a beautiful, large venue with different seating areas (high tops) & lounge style seating with sofas. Our group organizer had prepared two bottles of wine for us (one red & one white) & I opted for the white after hearing the description (it was a slightly fruity white wine from Portugal). After socializing for a while, I was feeling peckish & ordered the pork belly adobo buns. They were sooo yummy. The pork was cooked perfectly, I think there were thin garlic chips added for texture & flavor & the bun was pillowy soft. Our server was pretty friendly & helpful. I would return if I was in the area.

Drinks: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Lovely and classy wine bar in downtown SF. Came after dinner on a Saturday night and were able to be seated at the couches. Wide menu selection and friendly staff. We ordered a bottle of Billecart Salmon - fine and smooth on the palate with subtle sweetness The service was slightly lacking when our server didn't check in on us and didn't refill our glasses or water. One of the servers did give us a drink to try at the end as he was practicing with making cocktails - very nice of him.

Solid place to have a quiet meal and drinks after work. I visited last week with two colleagues who were in town for a conference. As the local, I was given the task of finding a place where we could decompress and have a quiet work conversation. I could not think of a better place than the Press Club. There was almost no one there when we arrived around 5:15 pm, and they seated us at a long table in the middle of the dining area, where we could spread out our notebooks and laptops. The server was very good - he carefully listened to our needs and suggested the right drinks and appetizers. I ended up choosing a Sangiovese (strong, chewy mouthfeel) and we shared the following apps: - roasted fingerling potatoes: these hit the spot, especially when dipped in the smoked paprika dip it was served with (this was so flavorful we asked for another helping) - chilled roasted broccoli Romanesque and cauliflower: served with delicious Chimichurri and crushed almonds - pork rillette: a nice meaty portion, slathered with sour cherry relish and with crostini on the side (we got extra) - buttermilk bathed popcorn chicken: this was another generous portion, and served with spicy N'Duja mayo Service and ambience were superb (it got a bit noisier as the evening wore on) and they were kind enough to charge my colleagues laptop. Will be back.

Always a treat to attend parties or just grabbing drinks with friends at Press Club. Located in the entertainment area of downtown SF. It's walking distance to everything you need. The inside is large but cozy with great vibes. The staff were very helpful. I needed a glass for my wine and utensils so they went all the way downstairs for it, leaving their station. Food is good too. Great display for the eyes. Generous portions for a large group. Their drink selections are vass.

Press Club features a beautiful lounge space with excellent service! My group of girls shared a bottle of wine along with their charcuterie and a few other bites. The waiter answered all of our questions about the menu and helped us pair some cheeses and meats for the charcuterie. Super friendly service and delicious snack foods. It was an excellent experience to lounge here with some wine and catch up with the girls!

Wine selection is superb, especially if you're a natural wine lover like me. Their focus on biodynamic, organic, and sustainably-grown grapes + a great food menu had me from the start. The space is gorgeous and spacious as well, at the foot of the Four Seasons Hotel. Would highly recommend this spot for date night, corporate events, or a happy hour.

Always a great time here and I always enjoy drinks and food items here. So happy that they also started making cocktails recently! Mohsen was our bartender and made amazing cocktails for my friend and I on a recent visit here. We explained to him what we like and he right away suggested to us the kinds of cocktails that we may like on the menu. I must say that he was spot on! We both really enjoyed his suggestions and the drinks were very well balanced and just how we like. We ordered them again cause we really liked them. That night we didn't have any food cause we weren't hungry, but we have eaten here before and really enjoyed the food items too!!! Food, service and ambiance I greatly enjoy here always! Mohsen is very knowledgeable about the menu and he is very friendly and always welcoming!!!

My first ever lounge area. Most of the drinking places I've been to are more bars, pubs, or breweries, but this high class atmosphere for a decent price is worth it. You can easily carry a conversation here, and it feels really nice. I came here with my friends around 8PM on a Saturday night. There were some spots available, and no wait. Free matches. We decided a sofa area to share with another couple instead of a table area, which was more comfortable. We ordered a Meat Chacuterie board for $22, along with a Sangria, a beer, and a sparkling wine. The board was decent and filling enough for all of us. The Sangria is what my friend loved, as she said they make it different from other places, and had a lot of ice. Its the atmosphere that makes this place. The food is well priced too and filling. I would come back to hang out and try more food.

Yup. This is the one and two. Made a reservation and was immediately sat after checking in. We even got to choose where we wanted to sit, so obviously we picked a nice corner away from everyone. Sooo many options! I'm huge on pinot noir and was overwhelmed because most places have shi**y options. But the Bouchard was good to the last drop. After well needed catch up with a good friend the bottle was gone and the charcuterie was devoured. The charcuterie, well I'm not really big on cured meats but the pate and mustard was right up my alley. I'm pretty sure I ate all the crostinis. What can I say, I'm still growing (sideways). Staff: friendly and most importantly that they don't hover over you. Ambiance: seeeexxxyyyy tiiiime. It was perfect, I highly recommend this as a first date or any date. Will I be coming back? Absolutely!

Press club is good. The price range doesn't fit what you actually get, overall. The service is decent, but the staff is unwelcoming. The space is cool, probably the best part of it. The hype that it used to get made sense, but now it doesn't live up to same hype.

Press club is still so beautiful. Not as poppin as it used to be but I love it. Although the food took awhile I didn't mind as we had drinks and great ambiance. Food wasn't bad, but I wouldn't go for the food. Server was great.

Really great ambiance and beautiful design. Their service and selection of wines are fantastic. Even though the environment is very upscale casual attire is fine to wear. Both times I've been there it's been pretty easy to get in without any reservation. My rule in SF is to always try new places, but this one we went to multiple times to show family members. Also, it's not a private club or group to enter.

Amazing for groups and events. They have a huge selection of wine and beers. This is great for happy hours and to take out of towners.

First time I came here was for a networking event and I thought the event sucked but the wine bar is excellent! Their service is great, you can taste the wine before committing, and their selection is pretty decent with an emphasis on local wines. This makes it a great tourist spot as it's conveniently located between Powell and Monterey BART stations near market street. My only comment would be that I was under the impression they had a happy hour menu, but I don't think I saw it when I was there on a Thursday after work.

Wish I can try the place but the host tonight saw me and my friend come in carrying a box of food, told us about no outside food being allowed; either I eat it or throw it away... It's after dinner at 8pm. We just walked out. Most likely wouldn't be back.

This was a surprising find in a not so great area of SF. We went downstairs to a beautiful interior. The service was impressive from moment one. We had several wines and they even offered tastes of things we were not familiar with. The bites offered were well prepared. Nicely presented. Overall this place is a find and I will be back.

First time I cam was for NYE and I wasn't impressed at all. $40 per ticket and there was no where to sit, didn't offer the flights and the music was stale. It was hardly anyone in there and they had the couches blocked off so you had to pay to sit. They didn't decorate for the festivities at all. I left before midnight to spend it in my hotel because id rather bring in the New Years somewhere I was excited to be. Gave them a second chance last week and it was a bit more pleasant as I was able to have a seat and enjoy my wine and converse a bit before my dinner reservations. This time the entire bar had chairs and the couches was open for seating. Our server I cant remember her name but was sweet. Will come back more often.

Another day in the city and another...date? Not sure but the vibes were all there. When I first arrived I was a bit confused as the actual venue is located downstairs. I walked in and there was a host stand but no host. There was an office with the door open and 3 people in the office. No response. So what did I do? I did what a normal late 20 year old would do, walked like I knew where I was going. Walked downstairs and was in awe of how modern and sleek the place was. Found the guy and enjoyed small bites and a wine flight. But I kid you not, within 20 minutes that place was packed...including the area that was preserved for private tastings. The wines were great but you know me, I care more about the food. Not disappointed at all -pork belly steamed buns and the mushroom aranchini - chefs kiss. The pork belly was perfect for those wines CONTROVERSIAL I KNOW. But man, I am telling you, that's a good place to start if you're looking at the menu. I am not a big pork eater but social situations give me the opportunity to be adventurous and overall it was sooo good. From the food to the company, this is a great spot.

An awesome venue in SF - the entrance is pretty discreet, and once you enter you go slightly underground to a very large space with many wine options and nooks and alcoves for mingling. The interior is dimmed and sophisticated.

Best wine bar in the city, hands down. Great service, great staff. Good variety. The foods are stellar and have expanded recently. Go all in and get some flights. Music is good and the environment is very classy and pleasant. Highly recommend. Oh and the lamb medallions are fire. Mo is the man! Thanks for the great service brother!

Nice little wine bar to have a glass of vino and visit. The charcuterie board was also quite good. A bit in the expensive side to be fair, but a good selection.

We held our pre-wedding wine night at Press Club with around 110 guests, and it was so great -- the space is cozy, the bartenders are fast and knowledgeable, and they created a lovely private space and custom menu for us. They put up a nicely-designed sign in our section with the name of our party. Communication leading up to the event was impeccable.

Came here for a corporate event. The staff was surprisingly rude! When I entered the lobby, the lady in the front interrogated me twice about what company I was with, even after I already told her once. Then she and another guy in the front claimed there was one party ahead of me and I'd have to wait after them. Well, that was a lie, because as I stayed in the lobby, they let in TWO parties ahead of me. I asked and they said "Sorry, I forgot about you." Wtf? Bartender also was also not great - I asked for the Kern River Isabelle Blonde (I read out the whole brewery and beer name), and they poured me a white wine instead... At least their wine selection was okay

Really nice ambiance and a great place to bring a date! Please note, they only serve beer & wine here and appetizer dishes, NO hard liquor for y'all trying to get turnt up! Trust me I'm no wine snob nor expert! But sadly, a few times I've known more things than our servers. I would give this place 5 Stars but some of their uniformed servers are holding them back. Other than that, I love this place and any time my gf and I are in the area, we try to stop by.

This was my second visit. We walked in when they were transitioning from a large event. The first 15 minutes was rough. No menus, no service, no acknowledgement. But then it got better. Knowledgeable staff, yummy charcuterie and the cheese paired with the beer jelly was amazing. Interesting wines to explore and lots of beer choices. Their version of pate in a jar with a layer of duck fat on top is a surprising but yummy add. The vibe and ambience of this place is cozy and warm but at the same time intimidating. Great date spot.

Absolutely love this place. I chose to come here instead of a club for my birthday this year. I'm so happy I made that decision because it was so nice, elegant, and perfect wine environment to have an actual conversation. Pros: - LOVE the ambiance - Dj that plays all my favorite old r&b!! Nice change for once at a lounge. - Great layout for different types of feels for the night (lounge chairs, long tables, stools, private, roped section for small events) - Great food and wine selection - Must I mention how much I love the interior? The lighting, stairs, and overall design is sleek and modern. The stairs are a really good IG spot to take photos lol ;) Cons: - Closes at 12 am!! I overheard that's considered late for a wine lounge, but it's a bummer when you're out on a Friday or Saturday night and you leave feeling like it's still too early! Highly, highly recommend this place!!! Super cute date night spot ;) and birthday of course! Or even a casual night out.

They offer my favorite wine, Syrah, by the glass here so any bar that offers that is an automatic 5 stars for me. There's also an additional Grenache Syrah blend, which gives them even more bonus points. The food was good as well, for a primarily beverage venue. Thumbs up on the random sliced mushrooms on our cheese platter for originality AND taste. I would definitely recommend this bar if you're looking for a good Happy Hour in SoMa.

I had a unique privilege of getting to come here right when it opened at 2 PM on a Friday, during a not so busy week. My companion and I were the only ones present besides the staff, so we got a large lounge area to ourselves. It was truly a pleasurable afternoon lazily snacking on charcuterie and a rosé flight. Also for $5 their pickled vegetables are a surprising steal - a delectable range of heirloom carrots, cauliflower, gherkins, shiitake mushrooms, green beans, and (omg) radishes. There was no need to talk over the noise of a crowd, and no need to fight for room since you're not packed in elbow-to-elbow with your neighbor. Come when it's not so busy, and you'll experience one of the most beautiful afternoons San Francisco can offer.

This place is huge. Rare to find such large drink spot, especially wine bar. You wouldn't know it from the outside because it's just in a strip of other restaurants and below Equinox. You have to walk downstairs and it's pretty bougie once you're inside. First came here on a friday night and there was a DJ (wut) and some visiting MBA class from England was there partying it up. It honestly was a great time. They have champagne flutes too. Came back for a team happy hour and was able to make a reservation (only a week before).

Came here after dinner at Tropisueno, and I thought it provided the most wonderful juxtaposition for our night out. While the restaurant was hustling and bustling, the Press Club was very mellow and super relaxing. It seems to cater to an older more sophisticated crowd, and most patrons were couples enjoying a quiet night out with some good wine. I made a reservation for a Saturday night at 8:30PM but the lounge was still pretty scarcely occupied. Not sure if we were just early for the night, but by the time we left around 10:00PM, it had only filled up a little more. We were winding down the night so we ordered the French Connection wine flight and their pan cotta to share. Unfortunately I'm not an experienced enough wine drinker to really be able to tell the difference between French and other wines, but I did enjoy the two reds and whites we got in our flight. They also have a wide selection of sparkling, red, and white wine flights for those of you in an adventurous mood. Also, I have to say that their pan cotta was surprisingly good for what I would expect at a wine bar! I would be interested in trying some of their wine and cheese pairings in the future. I also think I've found my birthday celebration spot for this year! PSA, per the employee we asked, booking out an area for a large group doesn't require a down payment! You just have to call ahead to reserve.

Gents, this is the spot if you really want to woo your date. Har-Har- mate. Morph into Christian Grey and request the Dj to play "earned it" as you and your date walk down into the dim lit loft.. the hint of mahogany.. leather.. and.. ahem. This place is upscale, aesthetics much appreciated. For starters, I would recommend a taking her on a European flight, of reds and whites. Pros: Dj, Attentive and Knowledgeable Staff, clean and great ambiance Cons: none.

I was blown away with the Press Club. From the outside you don't realize how large the venue is but once you step inside you realize that it's also large enough to host multiple events with the multiple spaces they had throughout the venue. Press Club has a laid-back classy atmosphere, with a chill vibe- this would be a great spot for a date or evening out with the girls! They have a very extensive selection of wines with nice wine flights. The happy hour specials were pretty good as well. The evening we were there, our friends ordered something called a champbong (yes, you heard me, it's exactly what you think it is...). I was pleasantly surprised that it came in beautiful glass curved flutes with a wooden case for them- it was a hit with our group. Overall a great place for happy hour or a date or even a birthday party!

Beautiful networking space and the service is always top notch. I've hosted a couple of networking events at this location and even went to their halloween party this year. The food and wine is always on point, albeit pricey, but you're paying for the ambiance. My group has always had the same server in the bay to the left, and not only does he request that we cut our food for ridiculous portions for our networking event but also makes sure I'm comfortable with the budget and timing of the food delivery. The crowd is mature and ~28+, with many company private networking events + friend gatherings. It's also a good date spot if you're looking for a classy vibe. I highly recommend this wine bar.

BEWARE cash stolen and never returned by staff. To be clear I posted by original review soon after the night my cash was stolen by the bartender. The management harassed me via phone and email saying I was disrespectful and to take down my post. I felt bullied and eventually acquiesced. I wish I hadn't. This has been a negative star experience.

Well, Google and Yelp both say this place is open until 10PM.... Yelp also says I can reserve a table at 9PM... My colleague and I just arrived at 8:30PM and it's closed. Checking the hours on their door, they conveniently list their hours as open - "close".... this is the second time this has happened. Going to some classy place on Embarcadero, W hotel bar, 25Lusk, Hakkasan across the street or any other option going forward...

Food 5 Atmosphere 5 Service 3 - so busy and large they will forget about you. Reserve if you want a table!

I like Press Club. It almost feels super exclusive when you walk down to the wooden wine dungeon below. Something about this place is magnetizing, it sparkles with wine. I usually come here with coworkers on special occasions and we dabble in a glass or two. No harm in that! It can get somewhat pricey here but if you go with a bigger group and split a bottle it's not so bad. Also sometimes I get invited to these exclusive lawyer events which can be fun. I just try to act cool and pretend I'm one of them lol The appetizers here are small for their price. They aren't super filling or anything by any means but it's good for a light bite and a glass of red after work. A little snacky snack. I haven't gone here on a weekend yet but I would imagine it would be less full of professionals. I'll have to check it out some time! To be continued on that...

Such a Hidden Gem DT! A great venue to Host a Party. They serve Chambong Drinks! Everyone I've Met who works there are Lovely. Very lounge-esque vibes. A Must Try!

I really enjoyed my evening at Press Club on a Saturday evening. I came with two other girlfriends and we felt like the space was big comfortable, and classy with sofas and tables all around. It was fairly quiet, albeit a few groups that came in during the evening. We sat for about 2 hours. There was even a DJ who played songs in the background. We ordered 2 flights of wine and a charcuterie board..all of which was actually incredibly affordable. Between all of us, we were really satisfied. Since, we actually got 7 different wines to try and the charcuterie board was huge (and under $20). There's definitely a lot of wine and drinks on the menu, and some small bites (no real meals though). I think we all spent around $20ish per person which was amazing for what we got and a good evening filled with conversation.
