NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"Last year, a whale swam under the Brooklyn Bridge. This year, there’s a new Seaport tavern inspired by Moby Dick. They have New England-inspired bites and cocktails, like chilled clam chowder and sticky toffee pudding made with rum caramel." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

NYC New Restaurant Openings: May 2025 | Eater NY

"A bar meant to feel like a New England seaside whaling tavern straight out of Moby Dick, with design elements including a whale jaw sculpture over the bar, a marine-themed mural, a driftwood bar, and a menu leaning toward New England influences — examples include Thai chile clam chowder, Frito pie–style shrimp snacks, corndog-battered lobster tails, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Bryan Schneider developed the program and Azikiwe Mohammed is behind the design; Chef Antonio Mora (formerly Restaurant Daniel, Morandi, Frankie’s Spuntino, Quality Meats) leads the kitchen." - Emma Orlow

The 11 Best Restaurants & Bars At The South Street Seaport - New York - The Infatuation

"This place takes its Moby Dick theme very seriously.  Think distressed teak floors, windows that look like they’ve been battered by storms, and drinks named after quotes from the novel. Quick Eternity has everything that you’re looking for in a cozy New England pub, except it’s filled with people coming from their jobs in Fidi. Use this two-floor bar exclusively for a post-work or pre-dinner cocktail and maybe a snack or two—get the french fries dusted in vinegar powder and some corn dog-battered lobster tails—or come earlier in the day and bring a book." - kenny yang, matt tervooren, hannah albertine, molly fitzpatrick

Quick Eternity - Review - Financial District - New York - The Infatuation

"Quick Eternity takes its Moby Dick theme seriously—the Seaport bar looks and feels very much like an old Nantucket tavern. One drink comes in a tin alehorn, and all the cocktails are named after quotes from the book. Even the smudged windows and glossy stained wooden floors give the impression that this place has seen as many storms as a peg-legged sailor. photo credit: Christian Harder / @christianharder photo credit: Christian Harder / @christianharder Pause Unmute They have a menu full of New England-inspired food, too, like smoked mussels pintxos and lump crab fritters with salt cod. None of it is great (save for some excellent vinegar powder-dusted french fries), but the drinks are, so use this place for an after-work cocktail or a pre-dinner drink before going out in the Seaport. Food Rundown Howling Infinite The closest you can get to actually being on the crew of The Pequod is ordering this cocktail. Served in a tin horn, and packed with crushed ice, the spicy tequila and Pimm’s cocktail is refreshing. photo credit: Will Hartman Lobster Pups Despite their, shall we say, interesting shape, we liked these fried lobster tail corn dogs well enough. They’re a good drinking snack, if a bit expensive at $29 for two pieces. Gam Burger The best thing this burger has going for it is a gigantic pile of vinegar fries, which make it worth an order alone. Other than that, it’s a pretty standard burger. Smoked Mussels Pintxos If you’re really just looking for a snack, this is where you should spend your money. Olives, pickled peppers, and mussels are skewered up for a briny bite." - Will Hartman

British Indian Chef Asma Khan Cooks Dinner at NYC Restaurant Dhamaka | Eater NY

"A new bar opening in the Seaport at 22 Peck Slip (at Water Street) in early May, conceived by Bryan Schneider to feel like a New England seaside whaling tavern inspired by the Spouter Inn from Herman Melville’s Moby-Dick. Chef Antonio Mora’s menu leans toward New England influences with dishes like crab bacalaitos; hard-tack biscuits with smoked salt butter, and spicy pickles. Mora previously worked at Restaurant Daniel, Morandi, Frankie’s Spuntino, and Quality Meats. The 60-seat space will include a whale jaw sculpture over the bar, a marine-themed mural, and a bar made out of driftwood; Azikiwe Mohammed is behind the design." - Nadia Chaudhury

Walking into Quick Eternity in the South Street Seaport feels like stepping into a sea-soaked fever dream, where Moby-Dick meets modern mixology.🐳🍹 The cocktails are the real catch: creative concoctions that nod to nautical lore. I ordered the Howling Infinite, a bold mix of Tequila Ocho, Pimm’s, Ancho Reyes Chili Liqueur, and lime, served in a vintage ’70s metal horn glass the owner proudly tracked down on eBay. Garnished with a fiery red pepper–lime combo and anchored by tiny shell toothpicks, it was as theatrical as it was delicious. Each cocktail feels like a story at sea: layered, adventurous, and just a little dangerous if you’re not careful. 🔥 Food-wise, I dove straight into the Crab Bacalitos, lump crab and salt cod cakes, and let me tell you, they were as addictive as the cocktails. Crisp edges, rich flavor, and the perfect hit of salty, sea-kissed comfort. Shareable for groups, with three large patties, so you don’t have to fight like a sailor at sea to get a bite. The crew? ⚓️ A friendly team of sea-soned 🌊 professionals in striped sailor shirts, steering you through the menu with the ease of a steady tide. Every story and detail adds to the immersion. Quick Eternity is less a trendy new cocktail bar and more a time portal to an era when men wrestled whales and chased destiny. Except now, destiny comes with cod cakes and a cocktail that’ll blow the barnacles off your day. If you’re looking for an escape and an adventure, equal parts harpoon and highball, this NYC South Seaport spot is well worth climbing aboard.

Love this new Moby Dick themed addition to South St Seaport with great drinks for even better prices ($14-18), New England leaning fare, with a great mural adorned bar room, and cozy exposed brick upstairs. Everyone on the opening team has worked with some of the best restaurants and bars in nyc. The upstairs was sound proofed well (an important detail often overlooked) and there is no need to yell across the table to your friends. Loved the tin fish plate and the bacalao cakes. Fun drink menu and they accommodated NA drinks for a friend with really tasty concoctions.

What a great hidden gem. I hope it gets more recognition. Beautifully cozy space on the first floor. The perfect spot for food and drinks. The cocktails looked amazing. I had the manhattan that was excellent. I also had the burger which was so damn tasty. Loved it the only thing is I wish it were a double patty as it was a tad small. The crab baccalitos were good. Very hot and very heavy because of how they are cooked but it had a great crab taste. The sticky toffee pudding was good as well. I wish it was a little warmer but the sauce was great! Very strong rum flavor. I really like this place and am so happy it’s in the neighborhood. Can’t wait to go back.

If you're seaside and craving nautical libations, Quick Eternity is a solid spot for creative cocktails at 2014 prices (i.e. $17-19). They even have tasty ethanol-free offerings that will actually tantalize your tastebuds. Try The Dirty or The Virgin if you're DD in your party. If breathalyzers aren't haunting your near future, try the Golden Gleamings for a zesty, sparkly, mineral-filled party in your mouth. Decor is aquatic, colorful and fun, and the bartenders are gruff but friendly. They have a hilarious game where they place a street sign with their logo and contact info somewhere in the Seaport area, and if you find it and return it to them, your first drink is free. How is that not the best marketing scheme ever?

Great new spot, so cool to have the drinks and food thematically aligned with the book Movy Dick. The cocktails were amazing and food quite delicious, especially the two quite distinct chowders, one hot and vegetarian (“oyster” mushrooms) and the other cold and like a clam-filled variant of gazpacho.

We loved the chique decor, the personable service, and especially our espresso martinis! Crabcakes were quite heavy but yummy. The upstairs seating is spacious. A welcome addition to the Seaport.

The drinks were delicious and well priced Highly recommend “The Rachel” The ambience was highly detailed and love the Moby Dick Mural with the whale bones. The artwork and library on the second floor was also a great touch. The food was delicious, recommend the burger.

Had food and drinks here last night after a show and my friends and I were impressed with both the quality of the food and the service. The bathroom was the nicest smelling bathroom I’ve ever been. Thanks to an extremely fancy Apotheke candle. Anyway, their mushroom dish was one of the best things I’ve ever had. I just wish it was bigger 😋
