We had a great experience here. We got the Jaeger Schnitzel and it was amazing. The mushroom gravy was perfect. The pickled cucumber and red onion side dish was a perfect complement to the schnitzel. We also got the sausage appetizer and that was amazing too! Our waitress was super nice and overall we would go back in a heartbeat. Great selection of beers as well.

I ate extra slow because I wanted to savor every bite! Had 2 of 3 Oktoberfest beers, both were excellent of course. Excellent service for lunch hopefully I can get the wife to come back for dinner.

I was running errands across the street and when done, I just rushed to this wonderful place! My fourth visit and as I still had pending errands, I ordered a non-alcoholic drink, an appetizer (sausage and fries), and I ended sipping on a "secret recipe" mocktail with a great spicy kick prepared by Jack, I loved it!!! Thank you, Manager (I guess...) for greeting me and checking on me as you passed by! Kudos to you and to the rest of your team because you all are doing a great job and are always exceeding my expectations!!!

Sat at the bar. Great beer selection. Had the Swedish meatballs. They were on point and delivered quickly. Highly recommend the apple strudel for dessert. The highlight was Jacks. Great conversation. Knows his beers. Very attentive.

Received some very warm and excellent service from Jack!! Was very happy with the food actually and didn’t know red cabbage could taste that good. Surprised my friend from Germany with this place. He said the food was legit! Great place for people that are on a keto diet!

Reichenbach Hall is a fun place to unwind after work! Minutes away from both Penn and Grand Central, it is in a perfect location to stay if you're waiting for the LIRR / NJT. Additionally, I organized a happy hour for an alumni group here. All the prep work with Ana leading up to the event was painless, and she was truly a pleasure to work with. I found that she was responsive over email if I had questions and any additional requests. When I arrived early to set up, all the waitresses were aware of the event taking place, and the on-site manager, Dawan, was quick to introduce himself. His professionalism and efficiency was truly unmatched compared to other venues I've worked with. Throughout the event, he was consistent about checking in to make sure things were running smoothly. The service was also phenomenal. All the servers were quick and efficient. Not to mention the beer selection was broad and the one that I had was fantastic. The food was solid too - the giant pretzel with the cheese and mustard is a MUST! Whether you decide to swing by for a drink or to host a large group event, I strongly recommend Reichenbach Hall.

Jack was great! Once he learned about my husband’s passion for a rare Oktoberfest beer, he let us sample another— one of his personal favorites, shared a bit of the history and was super friendly and very attentive. Cool place, perfect spot for a quick authentic German beer!

I visited here with a teenager from Germany and she said some of the food tasted legitimate, and other dishes tasted nothing like what they do in Germany. However, the hall is lovely with a classic German beer hall design. It made the student feel at home. We visited late at night just before closing so the service appeared to be exhausted. Otherwise, we enjoyed grabbing a bite to eat here.

Great beer hall but food was only okay. Sauerbraten and spatzle were dry; the snitzle was better.

Hidden gem in the heart of midtown! Was looking for a stein of beer after a long run, which is hard to find outside of Oktoberfest season in the city. Reichenbach offers HUGE pours (including boots) in a variety of German beers, even their own! It truly felt like I was in Germany- long family size picnic tables and thematic outfits worn by staff. Impressive amount or real estate for the city. Service was super attentive and friendly. We only tried a pretzel, which was good albeit a tad expensive. On a Sunday it was relatively empty, got a table right away. Will be back!

Ambiance: This is a German-inspired spot, not necessarily authentic German food (aside from the names). It is a German decorated tourist trap restaurant. I was recently in Germany (and have been to different parts of Germany many times) and can tell you that the food has nothing German. Service: They charge for soda refills, unlike other places. Place is getting a lot of hype due to Instagram but it isn't worth your time. The service is not great. I was there during lunch with an empty restaurant and still took a long time to get food. I have ordered an appetizer and a entree and both came at the same time. The side cheese of my pretzel was frozen cold. Food: Not great. Schnitzel was subpar. Pretzel was good, but the beer cheese on the side was still frozen. Overall: skip it, not worth your time or money. This restaurant is getting a lot of hype due to Instagram influencers pushing it out, don't fall for it.

The place looks exactly like a good old fashioned beer hall. I've been here many times and have tried many liters of their beers. Never a miss. Finally decided to write a review after trying their food for the first time, which happens to be a alice of their Black Forest cake. It's a weird combo to do cake and beer but it works. Service can be a bit hit or miss. On some days they take your order quick and the beers come out fast but oddly I've been here on a slow Saturday afternoon and the service also seemed slow as well. Overall, this is a fun place to grab a couple of beers and catch a sports game on their multiple TVs. Been here multiple times and you can bet I'll be coming here multiples in the future as well.

Great atmosphere. Not too loud when we went there for dinner. The Pretzel and Curry wurst were pretty good - both go very well with the beer. Server was attentive and price was reasonable for a German food place in Manhattan. Would go again!

We visited Reichenbach Hall just to reminisce about our love of the Hofbrauhaus in Munich. It definitely has a different vibe and wasn't as much of a traditional German beer hall as I was hoping. It really is just more of a bar that serves German food and that's ok. The people who were there were definitely having fun and that's what matters. The food was okay, the beer selection was good and the service was what you expect at a bar. I think they have a good thing going for their regulars so good for them!

We saw a sign advising the beer garden on the street and decided to stop in for a beer. The interior was very much like a beer garden with some long benches for communal seating. They had a nice selection of beer and German food. We sat at the bar and were waited on immediately. We did not eat there so I cannot attest to the food but it looked good.

My friend and I ordered the mixed sausage platter due to the bartender's recommendation. It was delicious. We enjoyed it with some beer. Customer service is good and it's spacious.

A good and varied selection of beers to cater for all tastes. From light radlers, through pilsner and ales to dark lagers and whit beers. Drinks come in 500ml "pint" glasses or you can order in a 1 litre stein. Service was very prompt and friendly, without being too intrusive. We didn't try the food, but from what we saw other people eating it all looked very good and traditional to what you would find in German beerhall. The one downside to this place was it was almost too painfully loud to stay. Whilst we were there the place was only around half full and even then it was hard to have a conversation with people at the same table. A few sound dampening tiles in the ceiling wouldn't go amiss.

Great German food. Nice Ambiance with top notche service. There is nothing to complain about. I really enjoyed the meal there. I would definitely return. If you are looking for a great German meal, I recommend this place. Waitresses are dressed in German costume. Foods are authentic. We had Currywurst, shnizel and meat sasuage platter, they were all delicious. I would definitely return for schnizel, we had pork. I think we found a favorite German place.

The food was flavorful. The schnitzel was crispy and severed with a tasty cucumber salad and fries. We also got the sampler of bratwurst it came with three different types all of which were all delicious with the mustard provided, red cabbage and sauerkraut. I had an Oktoberfest- there are varieties. The severer asked me about my beer drinking preferences and helped me select one. Overall it seems like a good place to watch a game or meet up for some tasty beers.

Long overdue review of Reichenbach Hall. I wanted to host a birthday party for my boyfriend and was able to book two tables of 10 for the event. The venue was large, with lots of TVs for folks to watch whatever game was on. It was clean and not too loud by the time we arrived. From start to finish, even when it came down to planning, the venue was really accommodating. We initially got two long tables inside, but I asked them after arriving if we can be seated outside since it felt a little stuffy, and one of the employees, possibly a manager, got another worker and moved tables around outside so we'd be more comfortable and can get a section to ourselves. On top of that, the service during the duration of our stay was wonderful. I don't remember her name, but she was so attentive, and the other staff members cleared out our empty dishes quite often. The only thing I'm sad about is the fact that I didn't get to try any of the food! It looked so good, and I anticipate coming back here for group events in the future.

I had read a few reviews that said service was a little slow, but it was fairly good on the evening I visited. We initially had to wait a bit between receiving our menus and ordering, but after that everything went smoothly. We started out with a pretzel to share, the pretzel was about 10in wide, good enough for the four of us. We ordered a mixed bratwurst plate, two schnitzels, and a vegan wurst (made of soy). The beer is always good, choose what you like, I am a dunkel lover through and through, thanks to the original Hofbrauhaus. All of our entrees were good. The sauerkraut and potato salad were big hits too. I was genuinely surprised by the serving sizes we received, we all left with stomachs very full. (My only gripe was I felt the gravy for the schnitzel needed more salt.) Reichenbach appears to be a fun place to watch a game too, the vibe here is lively and loud - definitely deserves a visit if you love German food and beer.

my sis and i got a liter of pink guava radler to share and her fiancé got a pint of spaten oktoberfest. radler SLAPPPEDDD :) tasted like juice :) we also got the jager schnitzel and the mixed bratwurst platter to share. i liked the traditional bratwurst the most and the sauerkraut was yummy too ! always a sucker for a good glizzy and a beer!

Very good food! Great authentic food. Good music. We sat outside because it was a little humid inside. Wait staff was okay but once they took our order it became a lot better.

Fantastish! Doesn't get more German than this. Reichenbach is clean, friendly, and serves up delicious German food for casual dining. We split a 3 sausage dinner platter and it was enough for 2 people. The German Potato salad was my favorite. No happy hour here but plenty of German beer on tap.

From the welcoming smile as you enter into this pub to the great selection of "beirs" beers takes you to Germany . The food is traditional, so when I'm Rome... eat a schnitzel. when you walk in you don't feel like your in midtown Manhattan! You feel like your in a German pub high in their mountains! Drinking delicious beer and eating flavorful dishes. I think this place is great, because you get removed from the city! Though there is nothing wrong with the city, it's just a cool feeling to be disconnected. Take in the decor and what they have to offer, you won't be disappointed.

"Nein" Completely weird fake German beer hall. So many better and authentic experiences on the East side. In fact this whole area pretty much sucks. Avoid it This is not NY level service. It's both annoying and slow. An impossible feat managed by simultaneously asking someone what they want to drink immediately as they sit down and you are handing them them an extensive menu, when they obviously came into this bar for a wide variety of German beers, not some pedestrian choice. Then, you ignore them for 10 minutes and go talk to your coworkers. There is something very fake about the decor. It looks like a Disney attempt at a German Beer Hall. The beer selection is good though and they have large, traditional steins sizes of German beers -- 1L, 1/2 L, etc

Food was good and service was good. They started a tab on my credit card and I paid in cash. They kept the charge in pending for a week. Why? I had to call and follow up.

My wife and I were there on Sat Night Sept 14 for Dinner. Food was good and Beer was what we expected. Why this review? We let the server take our CC to start a tab. Did not think much about it until overnight our CC started getting Fraud transactions trying to send money oversee. Lucky our CC Vendor catch this and flagged our card. This was the one and only time our CC was out of our possession while in NY. If you go, do not allow staff take your CC to open a tab. We have our receipt and know who served us. Lucky is did not getting disrupt our time there, but this is a warning to all. PS. I never post reviews before as if we don't like we don't go back. This one required a review. Beware.

Huge ceilings, as if you're in a barn, waitresses in dirndls, and enormous steins of beer and platters of food. Excellent service. International crowd. Handicapped accessible, sidewalk seating, spotlessly clean.

As lovers of German food and German beers, we decided to have dinner here on an early Saturday evening. The place was bustling and we were seated at one of the beer hall tables. The decor was rustic, and we loved the steins and glasses displayed at the bar. For me, there were way too many huge t.v.'s throughout the dining area which really detracted from an authentic beer hall feel. Our waitress came over right away and took our drink orders. I was disappointed there was no Hofbrau, but we settled on Spaten and the Warstiener, both cold and fresh tasting. For food we ordered the Jager schnitzel, requesting spatztle in place of fries, the currywurst, and kaespatzle. Our food was brought out by someone other than our waitress, and the schnitzel dish was missing the Jager sauce and had fries-not the requested spatztle. We waited a few moments trying to find our waitress or another waitstaff, but no luck. So we had to go find someone to correct this order. A gentleman manager came to our table, apologized and corrected the order. As our waitress had not returned, he also got us 2 fresh beers to boot. Fantastic. The currywurst was a large portion, but did not look very appetizing. I am accustomed to having this made with bockwurst or knockwurst and I did not care for the consistency or texture of the bratwurst used in this dish. The actual menu did not specify bratwurst, but I later found online that is what is used. The kaespatzle was pretty good,with firm homemade spatztle, but I wish the cheese had a little more distinctive flavor. Crispy onions were served atop, instead of the traditional caramelized onions. The pork schnitzel cutlet was cooked well, but the seasoned and thicker breading was a different take from the traditional breading. The mushroom sauce did not taste homemade and seemed more of a meatloaf gravy than a hunter sauce. The cucumber salad was excellent. While the portions are generous, the prices are definitely on the high end and not sure the quality mirrors the high prices. Neither our waitress nor anyone else asked how our meal was and we had to flag her down to ask for take home boxes and the check. The place was loud. The bathrooms were relatively clean but out of soap and toilet paper. I might stop in again for a cold beer and some light fare, but would not come to eat a full meal here.

Great german food can be so hard to find. I was hopeful that in a city such as New York, where amazing food seems more effortless than other cities, I might be in for a pork schnitzel treat as I headed for a quick two block walk from the Hyatt Centric to give it a try while I was in town. It was late afternoon, and as I walked in, it was lazily quiet in the restaurant. One or two people at the bar and a few seated at tables but not much happening. Not sure if that's typical but it was only 5pm or so. I wanted to sit outside under their sidewalk tent with tables and was thus instructed to order at the bar, and they would bring the food out. The gent at the bar taking my order couldn't have been nicer and I placed my order for Pork Schnitzel, grabbed a beer and sat outside. Within a short time, a plate arrived with fries, german potato salad, and a generous portion of pork schnitzel. As you can see from my picture, it was satisfyingly large and definitely photogenic. However, I wish I could say it was as good as it looked. First off, it wasn't breaded in an authentic way (if that makes sense). Instead of a thin crispy breadcrumb coating, it was more like a slightly orange hued thick batter, like you might get on chicken fried steak. It still tasted fine but it did seem a little odd. Unfortunately though, the cardinal sin was that it was super dry. It's not that it was pounded too thin, it was a thicker pork schnitzel as those things go but clearly overcooked which is a shame as it looked like it would have been delicious otherwise. Nonetheless, certainly edible...it was "okay" but in an area like Midtown and for a visitor like myself, I felt like this meal was a wasted opportunity and I should have gone to a more iconic well reviewed place given my limited time in the city. Oh well, the service was still great and friendly and the food was certainly okay, but I was truly hoping for "wow" and was a bit disappointed.

Really cool beer hall with vegan options, not sure I need to say more. All the beers tasted like they came out of a freshly tapped keg and the vegan sausage and sauerkraut were awesome. I ordered a side of fries instead of the potato salad because I wasn't sure if there was broth or dairy involved. Highly recommend reserving a table if you're bringing friends or if there's a big football/soccer game on.

Decent, authentic, spartan, German beer hall on 37th street between 5th and 6th. The music is loud and textbook German touristy. The beer selection is strong and there big TVs to watch sports while you drink. The food is pretty good, I wouldn't say outstanding. My guest had the Kielbasa which was very good. I had the mixed sausage platter which was good but not amazing. I feel like it had only 3 types of sausages and not 4 as promised but perhaps I was unable to distinguish a few of them. The sauerkraut was good and the potato salad just OK. I really like good German food so I'm probably setting a high bar. Come here for a beer, and maybe eat. Get the kielbasa if you do.

I have always walked by here but never came inside. We decided to grab some drinks after dinner here. The place is very spacious and it's not too loud. Good place to grab drinks and catch up! I also love beer so this is a good spot. It's basically a beer hall like houston hall. We came here on a thurs night; it wasn't too crowded but it wasn't empty either.

Pains me to say this as this is my favorite place to watch a Germany match - but just like Die Mannschaft, what worked in 2014 isn't necessarily working anymore. The problem with the place and the lower stars for my review is their technology (TVs / Projectors) are still from 2014 and aren't HD and look like crap. Sound isn't great either (I saw the waiter turn the volume up to 100 - full blast, and still couldn't understand the commentary at times). Adding to the fact that the TV's are mounted pretty high up above the bar (and regular definition - not HD), the picture isn't the best. Atmosphere is solid for Germany matches and fans celebrate together, so there's that. But really wish they would upgrade their TVs / Projectors / Sound system properly. The beers are great (albeit quite pricey) - the food is decent and the options are plenty for authentic German choices you might find in Germany (but the currywurst was just ok to be honest - I was expecting better). Schnitzel is really good! Brats are solid.

The beer was fine but when the bartender tells you there is credit card fee. Ok owners. I I did was take 5% off my originally planned tip. So, stop taking money away from your employees

German beers and food, with excellent service, To start off the German experience starts as you enter, you are greeted with - "Willkommen" which means Welcome, the bar is long and has full service , inside of the restaurant is well planned with many tables that look like log benches, also have outdoor seating, the waitresses are dressed up in a dirndl and really gives the Native German vibes, the menu items are listed in German with English descriptions of course. Special mention is for the quantities of Beer that you can order and at a reasonable price. A liter or half liter. Huge Bavarian pretzel tastes so good must try, also the sausage platter with pickles is a good combination with your choice of beer. Will visit again when in NYC, recommend for bier lovers.

1st I must say I love that they even have any kind of vegetarian friendly entree that looks good available. +.5 alone. greaaat list of German beers, available from in 3 different sizes. love their classic glasses. cold beer. we really enjoyed the few different ones we tried. I wasn't expecting too much from our meal, and definitely wasn't expecting a mind blowing fish entree. the Bratfisch Schnitzel w/ kartoffelsalat + gurkensalat. surprised me in the best way ever. I'm still thinking about it. fresh cucumber salad side with onions and dill, cold and incredibly well seasoned and herby german thin-sliced potato salad side with a perfectly fried piece of fish. friends got some meat options (the fries looked like a pass.) skip the Brussels Sprouts, too. Sauerkraut wasn't memorable and could be better. also got the oktoberfest pretzel which had a killer mustard, like a mix of stone ground and dijon or something similar. I remember trying the Sparen Munich Lager + the Warsteiner Pilsner. great place to bring a larger group. service was so friendly and attentive. must come back for the potato pancakes, beet salad, caesar, kasespatzle. i judge a restaurant by their caesar salad so I'm just curious! i would come back for the fish and sides alone.

How can you go wrong with a beer hall? Been here a few times and food is good, beer selection is good, service is good. Nice friendly atmosphere, spacious, and great location not too far from Penn station.

Pretty authentic feeling bier hall. Long tables that you share with other patrons, pretty loud and lots of beer options. The Brats were pretty good too. The vegan brat was not that good as it was barely warm but atleast they had an option

Food portions are underseasoned. Very loud because of a large group event . Staff did not bring down music volume even after the event ended . Beer was okay

Came here for lunch with coworkers. I was a bit hesitant as first as typically this I sent my first choice of food to eat plus I don't eat meat. I was able to get the fish meal. The fish schnitzel as decent flavor. I got a mocktail I forgot the name of it but it was not good it tasted like an old watered down flat ginger ale. All and all had an ok time

Great location, service and beer / food options. Reason for 3 star is due to bad experience today on champions league final where multiple TVs were 1 minute ahead vs others and messed up the experience for a lot of people. It is obviously not fun to watch the game when you have views of what will happen in 1 minute!! When I flag this to the manager and was hoping for a solution, Philip who states is the manager, did not even look at me in the face and went through a big disagreement without considering any customer experience. Such a bad interaction on such a good day. I do not think he should be in that position nor the service / hospitality if he cannot manage customer issues. If he wants to, hopefully learns from this experience to have longevity in the industry. I have debated if I should write this or not and decided to write for a hope that it will make a positive output.

My daughter loves soft pretzels so when we first arrived to NYC, we searched for an easy place that had them. Reichenbach Hall was just a short walk from our hotel so we thought we'd give it a try! Our server was super friendly and helpful and we navigated the German cuisine. Inside the restaurant reminded me of your standard German brewhouse. I took off one star because my schnitzel wasn't super yummy but my daughters pretzel was amazing!!!!

Very accommodating bartender, Jack, and the decor is a perfect reflection of a welcoming German Biergarten with long wooden tables & benches, wooden high tops & stools and German beer murals & banners. Excellent German beer selections with ABVs on the menu & traditional wurst & pretzel offerings. I started with Spaten Munich lager, then Hacker Pschorr Munchner Dunkel Lager and (post supper) a kinda sweet Spaten Octoberfest. I went with the nuernburger platter with sauerkraut, German potato salad & red cabbage salad. The potatoes were boiled a bit unevenly before being cooled & dressed but tasted very nice. The rest of the plate arrived lukewarm (not hot as I'd prefer) but overall I'd recommend & return. A good place to hang for good German traditional beer and a standard German menu to keep you upright.

The food wasn't that great. Plates are served with both saurkraut and red cabbage. They're the same thing. The sausages tasted pretty average. The wait staff seemed clueless about their own menu when asked about gluten free and apparently they've never heard of a Manhattan (the cocktail) and came up with their own abomination complete with cherry syrup. It's a tourist trap lampooning as a Bier Hall. Stay away.

A good place to stop in and get bier in a large German beer hall environment. It is located right next door to the 3 Marriott hotels (Vacation Club, Springhill suites, Fairfield Inn) on 37th street in midtown Manhattan. It has a large selection of German beers and wasn't too crowded in the late afternoon on a Thursday. We shared a Warsteiner Oktoberfest 1/2 liter ($12), which went down great on a hot NYC summer day.

Quiet inside. Not terribly busy. Average menu prices. Ordered vegan wursf and latkes (server didn't know what latkes were).

Poor service. Food wasn't that good and that's proven by me leaving leftovers on the table taking nothing home. Very loud. Too many TV's. Only thing I'd suggest going here for is a beer. Pro Tip: If you're looking for a REAL German meal in NYC travel out to Queens to Zum Stammtisch.

Stumbled upon this place on Saturday and was excited about it but was a bit of a let down. A lot of the beers on the menu were out and when asking for a quick taster of one beer the waitress quickly said sorry we don't do that. We tried two beers and then left afterwards as it wasn't anything very special and everything we wanted to try was out.
