The 16 Best Taco Spots In Mexico City

"If you’re staying at an Airbnb in the colonia Escandon, chances are you’re near El Rincón Tarasco. It’s the perfect place in the neighborhood to enjoy an exceptional lunch of simply perfect tacos de maciza (slow-roasted pork butt and shoulder) and their famous Pedro Chavez taco made of buche (pork stomach) and pork belly. An order of tacos de costilla is also a must—the rib meat is served on the bone, but comes off as smooth as butter. The Best Places to Eat in Mexico City | Bon Appétit

"A go-to street-taco stand near Polanco that specializes in Michoacán-style carnitas: pork slow-cooked for hours in lard and served on fresh tortillas with onions and cilantro. It's a focused, no-frills spot best enjoyed with a few beers, and a visit can pair nicely with a mandarin sorbet afterward from a nearby nevería and a walk through Chapultepec Park." - BySantiago Pérez, as told to Amiel Stanek

My partner and I got a mix of tacos; 2 mixed, 1 pork belly, 1 rib, 1 maciza. They were LARGE and well portioned. The tacos come with two freshly made yellow corn tortillas. The condiments are shared and the spot is small, limited seating but service is quick. There are three sauces to choose from and they are all bearable in spice. The staff is very kind and attentive! We spent $230 including an ice cold Coca Cola.

Bangin carnitas tacos eaten with your fellow connoisseurs on the sidewalk on a gorgeous summer day in Escandón. Servers take your orders efficiently and you’re handed your plate of goodness to consume warm and fresh with lacings of their delicious red and green salsas and pickled onion with habanero. Washed down with a cold drink that’s a quintessential Michoacán specialty enjoyed in CDMX.

You cannot miss Rincon Tarasco when you visit CDMX! This was the highlight of my trip (being a foodie and all). The costillas (ribs) and carnitas tacos are the die for! 😍 The best I’ve ever had and super authentic. The quality and taste of the meat, tortillas, and salsas were amazing. I ate here two days in a row and tried to go a third day before the airport and wasn’t able to swing it with our time crunch! I also met the amazing duo of sister-owners Claudia and Patricia who are so kind just like everyone there (both workers and customers), excellent customer service and so welcoming to us 😊 I can’t wait to come back, I miss those costillas already! Thank you for everything, and for making so many people happy!

Serving only one of the best " carnitas " in Mexico City. Great service. Gets really crowded with very limited seating. No parking.

Yelp
It was a bit difficult for us to order not being fluent in Spanish but they figured it out. We got a few ribs as well as the Tacos Carnitas. They fresh chop up the pork and have a community style table for you to sit at with salsa, onion, cilantro and limes to add to your tacos. A much meatier and larger taco than most places we went with a nice soft corn tortilla. Really delicious!

Yelp
Amazing carnitas tacos with a very generous helping of carnitas. 3 tacos is more than enough to fill you for a meal. Service was speedy and staff were friendly as well.
