Rocco's, nestled in a Home Depot parking lot, serves up heaping Philly cheesesteaks and juicy Italian sausages in a casual, grab-and-go setting.
"NEW YORK You can get several of life’s perfect treasures at this Home Depot in Queens: a workhorse drill driver, a flat-top grill, and a snappy sausage sandwich from Rocco’s in the parking lot. This food stand is an IYKYK situation—you’re equally likely to see day-workers scarfing down gooey cheesesteaks and influencers cataloging their plant haul at the picnic tables outside. They specialize in cheesesteaks and Italian sausages, and half the fun comes from inhaling the meat and pepper smells wafting off the grill in the compact, train car diner-like space. " - anne cruz
"There isn't much in Belltown if you're in the mood for pizza, but there is Rocco’s. It’s a cocktail bar that also happens to serve a wide variety of New York-style pies, from classic pepperoni to “banh mi” (with pulled pork, sriracha, and hoisin sauce, among other things). It’s hard getting into this place on a weekend, the slice quality is inconsistent, and the red sauce is a little too oregano-heavy, but it’s still a solid place to know about if you require cheese-covered bread to accompany your drinking. Dip your pizza in the homemade ranch. " - Aimee Rizzo
"If you’ve ever gone to a Home Depot in Philadelphia, you’ve likely had a run-in with Rocco’s Italian Sausages & Philly Cheese Steaks. Rocco Guardino, owner of the chain of six locations (and growing), may be a New York native, but he’s embraced Philadelphia as his home. The cheesesteaks here feature hearty chunks of steak mixed with American cheese, served on a roll that can barely contain all the juices." - ByKae Lani Palmisano
"Rocco’s is a counter-service spot with a few locations in Philly and NYC, all of which are attached to Home Depots. A sausage sandwich is our go-to order, but you also need a cheesesteak. Theirs comes on a big, squishy hero, with plenty of onions and grilled beef spilling out the sides. White American is the default cheese, but you can also get Swiss, mozzarella, or provolone. Whichever route you choose, you’ll wind up with a hot, steaming mess that’s best enjoyed fresh off the grill." - kenny yang, bryan kim
"The smell of freshly cut lumber is a magical thing, on par with new tennis balls and pavement after it rains for the first time in weeks. Still, the single best reason to visit Home Depot will always be Rocco’s. This counter-service spot specializing in sausages and cheesesteaks has a few locations in Philly and New York, all of which are located near the entrance of a Home Depot. Their cheesesteaks are made with big, bouncy rolls, stuffed with a heap of beef and grilled onions and topped with white American cheese. Satisfying as those are, we actually prefer the sausages. You can choose from sweet, hot, and cheese-and-parsley varieties, all of which are winners. Order a sausage sandwich, and make it a double." - Bryan Kim
