"Rockaway Beach Bakery has all the makings of a tiny bakery in a tiny beach town—it just also happens to be 600 feet from the A train. The business is run by one woman, who will tell you about how she once won a Twisted Tea giveaway, and is now the proud owner of a branded cutout of her head. (It hangs above the register, you can't miss it.) The ham and cheese croissant makes for a very good breakfast on the beach, but we also like guava and cream cheese danish, and the spinach and feta quiche, which tastes like a custardy spanakopita." - willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, neha talreja
"Rockaway Beach Bakery has all the makings of a tiny bakery in a tiny beach town—it just also happens to be 600 feet from the A train, and less than an hour from Manhattan on the subway. At the counter, Tracy will help you figure out your order, and maybe tell you about how once she won a Twisted Tea giveaway, and is now the proud owner of a branded cutout of her head. If you stop by for pastries on the beach and find that it's already gone, go for the guava and cream cheese danish, or the croissant loaf, made by layering croissant dough leftovers into a bread pan so it tastes somewhere between monkey bread and bread pudding. We also very much enjoy the warm slice of spinach and feta quiche. That’s maybe the first time we’ve recommended a vegetarian quiche over the one with bacon, and that’s because it tastes like a custardy spanakopita." - Willa Moore
"A standout for delectable scones, danishes, sticky buns, and an out-of-this-world egg, bacon, and cheese biscuit sandwich."
"Rockaway Beach Bakery is the right stop before hitting the beach. The year-round bakery was featured in Bon Appétit for its snacks like scones, croissants, and guava-cheese danishes." - Eater Staff
"Rockaway Beach Bakery is a local favorite for coffee and quick bites. Pastry chef Tracy Obolsky's fresh pastries, including danishes, loaves, scones, muffins, and cookies, are some of the best in the city. The bakery offers a variety of breakfast options, making it a must-visit spot before hitting the beach." - Travel + Leisure Editors
