The 15 Best Restaurants In Clinton Hill - New York - The Infatuation

"Rosticceria Evelina is the younger sister to Evelina, an Italian restaurant in Fort Greene, but the specialty here is chicken, not pasta. Specifically, a beautiful bird that's spun around on a rotisserie spit before landing on a plate of crispy yukon gold potatoes and carrots. You should also get one pizza and the slaw-like brussels sprouts and kale salad. Big groups can spread out in the covered garden out back, but there's a bar up front and a handful of tables in the main dining room, too. It’s bright, and less cozy and romantic-feeling than Evelina, so bring someone you don’t mind seeing in HD." - willa moore, bryan kim, molly fitzpatrick, will hartman, tiffany yannetta, neha talreja

The Brooklyn Hit List: The Best New Restaurants In Brooklyn - New York - The Infatuation

"If you’ve ever been to Evelina in Fort Greene and thought to yourself: “Gee, I wish this place served rotisserie chicken,” your hypothetical inner monologue is in luck. Now, there’s Rosticceria Evelina. The pasta-heavy menu from the original spot has been swapped out for one that skews way more roasted and baked, and includes a handful of excellent, doughy pizzas. But the real reason you’re coming here is for that juicy bird served on a plate of crispy yukon gold potatoes. Order that, plus at least one pie and the jamon iberico croquettes, and see what other restaurants you can will into existence." - Will Hartman, Willa Moore, Neha Talreja, Sonal Shah, Tiffany Yannetta

NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"Rosticceria Evelina is from the same people behind Evelina, a neighborhood Mediterranean spot in Fort Greene. The new location is in Clinton Hill, and if we lived nearby, we'd be pretty excited about the full rotisserie menu, with several pizzas and pastas, and dishes like roasted chicken with yukon gold potatoes and honey-roasted carrots." - Will Hartman, Willa Moore

Rosticceria Evelina - Review - Clinton Hill - New York - The Infatuation

"You go to Evelina, an Italian spot in Fort Greene, for the neighborhood vibes and pasta. And you go to Rosticceria Evelina, their newer sister restaurant in Clinton Hill, for the neighborhood vibes and chicken. Specifically, a beautiful bird that spun around on a rotisserie spit before landing on a plate of crispy yukon gold potatoes and carrots. Other things that make a great prelude to that chicken: at least one pizza, the slaw-like brussel sprouts and kale salad, and the jamon Iberico croquettes. Big groups can spread out in the covered garden out back, but the bar up front and handful of tables in the main dining room are equally great spots to sit. It’s bright, and less cozy and romantic-feeling than Evelina, so bring someone you don’t mind seeing in HD." - Tiffany Yannetta

Google
We were just walking around the neighborhood when we stumbled upon this cute little restaurant with great reviews, so we decided to stop by. At first, I wasn’t sure what to order but on the way to the restroom, I passed by the open kitchen and spotted someone being served the Eggs Benedict and a pizza. That definitely helped me make up my mind. We ended up trying the eggs Benedict and the lasagna, and both were absolutely delicious highly recommend! The cozy covered outdoor seating area added such a nice touch to the whole experience, we loved the vibe and felt so relaxed just sitting there. We’re really glad we decided to check this place out. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and we’d love to come back to try more dishes next time.

While staying in Brooklyn for a few days, this restaurant was recommended by a friend who lives nearby. There are lots of nice places to eat on Myrtle St., but this one was so nice that I found myself dining there three evenings in a row. Every dish I tried was excellent. The starters, and very original and delicious pizzas, are well above average. The prices are reasonable for the quality provided. The décor and lay-out are delightful. The service was fantastic, especially from the hostess, (Alexandra, if I recall correctly). This is a very cool and welcoming restaurant. I look forward to returning next time I am in Brooklyn.

Google
Knock out experience. We were a bigger group (8, with two teenagers). The restaurant set is up with a price fixed meal served family style — a good solution and excellently presented and delivered. While I admittedly enjoyed most all of it, the flatbread stood out, the octopus was fun, and the rabbit pasta dish was really nice, still the tiramisu stole the show at the end. A grand time had by all. The cocktails were competently prepared without doubt and the wine list was good (accurate years too, which I appreciated). Service: impeccable and not at all stuffy.

We had a fantastic experience at Rosticceria Evelina! The food was amazing and the whole vibe of the restaurant was fun and energetic. Whether you're looking for a casual meal or a place to celebrate, I highly recommend Rosticceria Evelina. This restaurant delivers on all fronts: delicious food, excellent service, and a lively atmosphere.

Google
Great service and delicious food. Went for a group dinner and was able to try a wider variety of items from the menu, the muratore, Brussels salad, and pizzas were stand outs. The space itself was also beautiful with a garden-like space in the back.

Google
Sat at the bar for happy hour and this place did not disappoint. Excellent drinks and delicious food matched by great service. Only tried one thing off the main menu but will definitely be back with friends to try more!

Google
I am quite delayed on my review, but I wanted to take a moment to recognize the incredible service and food here. I worked with them on a business dinner for about 14 folks (team dinner on 5/13) and they were thorough, attentive, and amazing to work with, even when our group had changes to the reservation/ordered some extra dishes. Since we were a large group, we had a set family-meal style dinner that we worked with them on to create. They even went the extra mile to create personalized menus. Food and cocktails were amazing. My boss enjoyed so much I've been tasked with figuring out our team dinners in the future. Would not hesitate to come back here for a business meal, date night, or a meal with my family. Thanks for everything!

Google
Incredible dining experience that rivals every restaurant in the neighborhood-- nay, the city. Not just Italian comfort food done right, Italian comfort food done more thoughtfully and meticulously than you've ever had before. Dare I say, a more fun, festive, and tasty atmosphere than the original Evelina itself. I waited much too long to give this place a try. Don't make the same mistake I did! Say it with me, "THERE IS GREAT FOOD ON MYRTLE AVENUE."

Yelp
What a surprisingly delightful place! Dare I say the neighborhood's best kept secret?? Came here with friends last night and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. Apparently you have to be beautiful with an amazing personality and 11/10 eyebrows to work here?! Kathleen was probably the best server I've ever had in my life. She made us feel like family from the moment we arrived and helped us navigate the complexities menu with her incredibly detailed descriptions. The food itself was incredibly authentic and everything we ordered was delicious. The cocktails were tasty and unique. I am SO GLAD they had affogato on the menu for dessert! It came with a sprinkling of sweet crunchy bits that add delicious bursts of texture. Overall would absolutely come back here! Thanks for a great time!

Yelp
Had a lovely Saturday brunch here, and I was really blown away by the lovely servers as well as the ambience of the restaurant. It actually goes pretty far back, and there's even a covered and heated area in the back. There's only one bathroom, but it was nice and clean. We received a complimentary scone which was delicious, and I ordered the prosciutto eggs, benedict, and I also tried the pizza diavola. The entrees were good but not too memorable. The food came out pretty quickly, and like I said, all of the servers were so friendly. They even asked if we were sure if we liked our food, and if we needed to switch any dishes out. The portions are also pretty generous, and we were very full at the end. Unfortunately, we did not have enough room in our stomachs for dessert, but I would love to come back to try a pasta dish and the tiramisu.

Yelp
Food was amazing. Service was knowledgeable and very attentive. Grateful for a second venue from the folks who brought us Evelina. While roast chicken sounds blah, it will blow your mind. And if you were wondering how good pizza would be if Evelina ever served it, now you know.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant in Fort Greene. I've had this on my radar for the last year since it opened. It did not disappoint. Just had to find the right occasion to get there as it is a bit out of the way. Ambiance was great. Understand that they do live jazz on Wednesday evenings. The temperature controlled terrace is nice and necessary since the interior of the restaurant is quite small. Servers were pleasant. We ordered the following: Brussel sprouts and kale salad with pesto - very light and refreshing. Didn't get a ton of pesto flavor, but that was ok. Topped with Parmesan and pistachios Funghi pizza - would 100% order this again. One of the best pizzas I've had this year Chicken - really good. Tons of flavor and good portion size. So juicy. Just about everyone was ordering this in the restaurant Lasagna - unreal. Deep flavor in the lamb ragu. Crispy top and edges were great (most restaurants don't have this). The mint on top brightens the dish Ordered Shiraz by the glass. Pretty good. As the glass stood, the flavor opened up a lot more. Would definitely come back here. Everything was spot on for a good date spot. Also just about everything is shareable

Yelp
I had a lovely mushroom risotto here. Rich and buttery, it was topped with a creamy sauce that made it melt in your mouth even more. It was hard to stop myself from eating the whole dish! The restaurant has low lighting for a nice, intimate ambiance. Would be great for date night.

Yelp
I'd rate Rosticceria Evelina four and a half stars. It's partly Italian-American bistro and partly pizzeria. Full bar with some interesting house cocktails. Three beers on draft - all from Threes Brewing. About a half dozen wines by the glass plus a curated wine page. We started with the shredded brussels sprouts and kale salad. It's generously dressed with a well balanced and delicious pistachio pesto. The salad is topped with shaved pecorino. An earth, nutty, and savory salad. For our mains, we shared the burrata pizza and the paccheri. The pizza is an oval shaped personal pie. It's a Neapolitan hybrid style that is cooked in gas oven. Goal here is too have chewy dough but still achieve a crispy crust on a single cook. Think along the lines of L'Industrie, Lucia's of Avenue X, and Brooklyn DOP. The pie has an aggressive amount of corn meal on edge giving it a grainy finish. The kindly added some mushrooms to the pie. Toppings were excellent. Paccheri is thin and large tubular pasta. It had a chewy texture leading to believe it was either house made or perfectly cooked. It was served with a caramelized onion sauce. Being an expert onion caramelizer myself, this sauce was right to my flavor liking. To further amplify the dish, it had tender short rib mixed in. The onion sauce and the short rib came together to form a delightful ragu. We were stuffed from these three items, so we skipped dessert. Staff was accommodating and attentive. I only noticed one restroom; it was a sleek yet tight single occupancy space.

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing. In the pouring rain decided to just find somewhere to eat after being in traffic. We walked in to my new favorite place. The drinks oh my! The mushroom app. The vegetable tempura frito misto. Wild boar, artichoke app. Pistachio Nutella dessert EVERYTHING IS Incredible! It is a CULINARY Orga.... The staff are beautiful and sweet. Stop in Wednesday the Jazz band is great! I will be back

Yelp
To no one's surprise, the new little sister of Evelina and Co. is fantastic! The service and drinks are great and I have yet to have a dish that disappointed me. So far, the dinner menu standouts for me have been the Brussels Sprouts & Tuscan Kale, the Skirt Steak, and the Snowdance Farm Organic Rotisserie Chicken. I feel hungry just remember how much I liked each dish. I'm excited that they now serve brunch and I love forward to seeing what new things they bring to their menu. Also, unrelated to food, I love how they slightly altered the courtyard / backyard to make it insulated. I can't remember if the roof retracts because they opened during the winter but the temperature is always great and the noise level doesn't seem too loud. It's a great area to be seated in when on a date or even have a small standing event with a couple of high top tables. I'm glad this place is off to a great start and I hope to enjoy brunch just as much as dinner.

Yelp
Popped in on a quiet Monday night to check out this new Italian spot on Myrtle. Entered to an impeccable interior which looked tiny (and empty) up front, but opens to a huge, lovely back with a large covered backyard area. My cocktail was great--bourbon and cider and pear brandy; had a fear it would turn out sweet, but it was incredibly well balanced. Wine options were solid. We split several appetizers and one entree--the stuffed and tempura fried zucchini flowers topped with anchovies were excellent, as was the radicchio salad. The croquettes were ok but a bit bland; perhaps paled compared to the squash blossoms. The sea bass entree was also excellent; mushrooms and Brussels sprouts in a succulent white wine sauce. I had some mild quibbles--part of it was our ordering, but the apps run a bit heavy on fried options--would have appreciated more diversity of choice there. Different but similar concern for the entrees--only 4 choices, 2 of which (smash burger, rotisserie chicken) seemed dramatically out of tune with the rest of the Italian trattoria-style menu, which is why we did several apps and split the entree. As a longtime Yelper I know there are no half stars, but this was a tough call for me. Ultimately the charming space with its large atria of a back room, generous service, and potential of what I think it could be win out--I hope this will be a welcome addition to our vibrant and growing Myrtle restaurant scene.

Yelp
I think everyone should be talking about this place right now. There's a lot of restaurants in the area that have been TikTok-ified and getting a lot of hype, but this place is actually better than anything I have tried on Myrtle in a very very long time. The Pizza Funghi was actually against the law how good it was. Another incredible aspect of this experience was that the serving sizes were actually big. There were 3 of us and we got the pizza, the croquetes (my boyfriend said this was his fav), a burger, the brussels sprouts salad (outstanding, reminiscent in vibe to the Don Angie Chrysanthemum salad but TBH I THINK THIS WAS BETTER!!), and the eggplant. All dishes were great. Everyone who worked there was kind, helpful, engaging, and all around made the experience even more pleasant.

Yelp
Ambiance: (4 out of 10) The ambiance was nice, although the chairs are not too comfortable. As a person with disability, I had to bring my own blanket. The space between tables is very small, and we had to hear all the negative conversation from the other table unfortunately. Their bathroom door doesn't work well. I had to apply force just to get out because it gets stuck. They should truly fix it. And it is very dark in the bathroom and it lacks tissues to wipe hands. I prefer to use nice tissues which can also be used on the way put of the bathroom and wrapped around a knob which everyone uses due to Covid season, which picked up in the Summer of 2024. Service: (1 out of 10). The waitress was polite and visible asking if everything was ok with us. However, she ignored our complaints. Food: (6 out of 10) We ordered a few dishes. The Radicchio salad was sweet (3 out of 10). The waitress told us that's because they put honey in it. We didn't like it because we believe that a salad should not have sugar in it, and honestly it was too sweet. I think we as Americans consume too much sugar already. Olive oil and lemon would be just fine. The other salad lacked kale (4 out of 10) and was soaked in salad dressing with cheese. It felt like we were eating cheese soup and in it was kale. Too much dressing. We didn't finish both salads. The roasted chicken was good, but the purple carrot in it was too burnt, but I think it was the nicest tasting dish out of all dishes we tried (8 out of 10). Finally the risotto with mushrooms was heavily drenched in greasy sauce which was also added on top by more cheese. I think I have to check my cholesterol after this meal! I haven't eaten the risotto. We spoke to our waitress about it, but she smiled at our comments and walked away when she asked us at the end how everything was. I guess she really didn't know how to respond nor perhaps cared because we already gave her a nice tip. The dessert menu is limited, so we didn't order anything. I have tasted tiramisu all my life, and other desserts didn't sound too interesting.

Yelp
it's with a heavy heart to share this updated review - the dramaaa. so after such an amazing anni dinner with my mans, i brought my best friend here a few weeks after who is also a huge fan of evelina and the food was unfortunately not as good! idk what happened! i hyped this place up so much to my friend and when all the dishes came out, we were seriously underwhelmed. i was going to bring my parents here when they come visit but now i'm rethinking that plan. also! the menu had changed since the last visit which i thought was "hmmm.." we started with the cacio e pepe salad with kale and sprouts, got two of the flatbreads, one with guanciale and the other mushroom one, and lastly a gnocchi. cacio e pepe salad with kale and sprouts - 4.5/5 : honestly, you know its not gonna be good when the salad gets the highest score. a bit salty but this was a delicioso start to a delicioso meal.. or so we thought funghi pizza - 3/5: for both pizzas, the base bread was good but the toppings did nothing for us. this pizza was somehow both too sweet - overpowered by the honey - and flavorless. amatriciana - 3/5: again, base bread was good but the topics were just meh. no flavor kick or any discernible flavors. just tasted like red sauce. gnocchi - 0/5: this was just plain bad. like terrible. the gnocchi fell apart in your mouth like it had been frozen and then incorrectly thawed with too much moisture. i've NEVER had gnocchi that tasted like this before. we took two bites and didn't touch it again. what happened evelina's sister! i was so excited to bring my friend here and it was so whatever. i wanted to give this review 2 stars but i'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt of having an off night since the first time i came was SOO good. service was friendly like always and the interior so great. i hope to give this place another try... maybe in a few months when i can forget about that terrible gnocchi texture in my mouth.

Yelp
The back garden can be super loud and echoey, but the food is terrific and the service is great.

Yelp
We went the first week of their opening- for our anniversary- and waiting for us were 2 coupes of prosecco. Nice! We ordered the croquettes which were yum I ordered the the pizza with prosciutto San Daniele for my main and it sounds kind of weird, you'd think I'd never had pizza before, but it was the best pizza I've ever had. Not traditional in any way but that crust is so incredible and the toppings fresh and delicious. We've been back many times since and while I have had different apps, I'm sticking with that pizza. Recently I took my mom and sister there and we started with croquettes and suppli- yum and my mom wanted an order of the asparagus; well, again, it may have been the best asparagus I've ever had. It was buttery and thick but so tender and whatever pesto they put on it was so fresh and unusual (not especially basil forward or traditional). Well, we had 3 orders it was so good. My mom ordered the chicken which blew her mind. She spoke about it all weekend. She's the kind that cleans the bird down to the bone. This being a whole half of chicken, girl ate the whole thing (including these fabulous roasted potatoes and carrots). It was a hungry-man meal, not an 80 yr old momma meal! We are big Evelina enthusiasts and this is a completely different experience but just as wonderful!

Yelp
I LOVE this place!! The perfect addition to the neighborhood with excellent food, service, and atmosphere. There wasn't a single dish that didn't impress, but the chicken was outstanding. Juicy, flavorful, and the vegetables were all delicious on their own. Dip them in the juices from the chicken and it just hits another level. The server was attentive and friendly, the food came out in a timely manner and overall enjoyed the full experience of my meal from start to finish. Didn't feel rushed to leave like some other restaurants on NYC. This place has another restaurant on Dekalb, Evelina, and it's excellent so the bar was set high!! I'm happy to report that this new spot exceeded my expectations.

Yelp
Best bartender in BK and LOVE the pizza get the funghi and negroni if you want your life on track

Yelp
Was in a couple months ago--the old Bar Bolinhas spot. It was fairly crowded so they sat us in the back--enclosed patio but just a touch chilly. Good dark ambience, nice spot for a date or families. Chicken is great--I know, "it's just CHICKEN," but really moist and delicious. A little different preparation but good like Colonia Verde's for a comp. Tartare was nice--always a unique choice. Best of all we're the croquetas--really yummy, and I like how the jamon Iberico is on top, not inside--when it's cooked, I find it's wasted (same with prosciutto). Great spot and maybe slightly more accessible price-wise than their flagship location.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've had in a long time. From the chicken, the pizza, the cocktails, the gorgeous atmosphere and impeccable service, this is one of the best restaurants in the neighborhood. I had no doubts in my mind but I was seriously blown away by the flavors of everything I had. I can't wait to go back. The talented people of Evelina have done it again! So happy Rosticceria is here!

Yelp
As soon as we were seated I fell in love with the cozy indoor/outdoor vibe, and was ready to make it a regular spot. Sadly, the food didn't measure up to my expectations. We ordered the radicchio salad, the mussels, the salsiccia pizza, the lasagna and the tiramisu. Outside of the salisiccia which was delicious and flavorful, everything was just okay. Even the tiramisu, which we were really looking forward to, was a bit lackluster. Maybe we just didn't order the right things, but all in all I was quite underwhelmed.

Yelp
First time here. The nice vibe and the food was tasty Highly recommend the risotto balls Overall good choice but definitely pass on their coffee. The coffee has to be the worst on the planet. It was like drinking burnt toilet water

Yelp
Incredible food and such cute ambiance. So excited to have more Evelina choices. The chicken is incredible!!

Yelp
With their weekly jazz music, incredible indoor patio, great beverage list, and some of the best service I've seen, this place is an instantaneous favorite. Paccheri, pappardelle, smash burger, salads, nothing has ever missed. Their bartender Daniel remembers & recognizes our group every time, keeping this neighborhood restaurant on the top of our list for taking visitors, friends, family, anyone with a love for Italian food, good atmosphere, tasty drinks & more. Bonus points --- they have malort..!

Yelp
Love the space & vibe! The courtyard is a much improved upgrade from what Bar Bolinas was. We had salads, pizzas, lamb & scallops - they were all great but the pizza might've been my favorite..surprisingly because we didn't really go there for pizza! So happy with this new addition to the neighborhood.

Yelp
We had a wonderful Friday dinner at this beautiful restaurant. We were seated at a front table looking out to busy Myrtle Street. Loved the wood beam ceiling. Past the bar and the kitchen are two other nicely-appointed dining areas, including a covered patio, in the back. Our server, Mary Kate, was welcoming and helpful. We started with a nicely concocted cocktail (Adam's Apple) and an excellent medium body wine (Vernaccia Nera). The nicely seasoned, fresh broccolini with shaved Romano cheese, and crispy, flavorful croquettes whetted our appetites for the entrees. I loved my superb maitake mushroom pizza: the spicy honey & sausage added a kick to the woodsy mushroom and the delicate cheese flavor, which together with the chewy, tasty crust gave a great, savory mouth feel. My dining companions gave her lasagna a big thumbs up; it was meaty, with the just perfect amount of cheese. We'll be back to check out the Roasted entrees.

Maureen K.

Yelp
The food here is fabulous. This is my favorite restaurant. My husband and I are regulars here. We like to come for Sunday night dinner. It's a nice way to end the weekend / start the week. I hope this restaurant will enjoy great success and be in the neighborhood for many years to come. If you haven't been yet, please give it a try. We usually get a salad, the roasted chicken, a pasta or pizza and a dessert. Go!!!

Sam S.

Yelp
Nice spot. Last night got anchovies with butter on focaccia (really good), Brussels sprout salad (also tasty) and one of their (small and misshapen but pretty good) pizzas to share. With a couple drinks it was around $80 for dinner for two. Friendly service. Ambiance was basically friends catching up, people on dates, and a table of coworkers, I think in tech, all having a nice time. Thumbs up.

Rachelle T.

Yelp
Exquisitely made food, great service, and beautiful ambiance! We ordered the mussels, fungi pizza, and lasagna ragu. We also ordered two craft drinks and tiramisu for dessert. Everything amazingly delicious, fresh, and well crafted. Great price point as well! We will definitely recommend to friends and be going here again!

Teresa L.

Yelp
I feel that the food quality went down . My cacio e pepe in particular was absolutely dry and too strong on the pecorino side. Very disappointed as I alway loved this establishment.

Susan C.

Yelp
The renovation is beautiful, and the food s delicious! We had the sausage pizza and the rotisserie chicken, and it couldn't have been better! The service was excellent, as well.

Yelp
Best vibes, most delicious burger !!! I loved my server. We had so much fun and I'll be back for this 5 star burger many more times.
