North Beach Farmers Market

I’ve lived in North Beach for quite a while, and one of my favorite things about the neighborhood is the Farmers Market. Launched in 2018 through the efforts of North Beach Neighbors and Piazza Pellegrini, it has grown into what feels like the heartbeat of our community. The goal was to introduce local farmers and artisans directly to our neighborhood while providing a space for residents to connect, and it has truly achieved that. In 2021, the market relocated to Greenwich Street next to Joe DiMaggio Playground, and it has continued to thrive in its new spot. Every Saturday from 9 AM to 1 PM, the market fills with the buzz of fresh produce, handmade products, and plenty of friendly faces. For me, taking a stroll through the market each Saturday has become a cherished ritual. I enjoy discovering new items, chatting with familiar faces, and picking up whatever fresh delights catch my eye. It may seem like a small pleasure, but it reinforces my sense of belonging to North Beach and the community I love.

Tucked just behind Little Italy on a single block of Greenwich Street, the North Beach Farmers Market is the kind of hidden treasure that feels too good to be real—like a postcard or a scene from the California morning you’ve always imagined. Here, the air hums with acoustic guitar and friendly chatter. There’s diversity in every direction: from the sizzling breakfast burritos and velvety espresso to the fresh catch at the local fish stand and roses sold from the back of a pickup truck. You’ll pass fragrant stalls with natural perfumes, vintage finds, sun-warmed nectarines, and radiant stained-glass art shimmering like candy in the light. You might stumble across a photo that perfectly captures the soul of San Francisco—but picking just one is almost impossible. Kids play Connect Four near the court, joggers drift past dog lovers in the plaza, and basketballs echo as people move through their weekend rituals. And then—there’s the bagel. The bagel. A secret menu item whispered from one regular to another: “The Works + Lox Salmon + Lemon Oil.” One bite and you’ll swear you’ve found the meaning of Saturday. Somewhere in that gentle crowd, two strangers pause. Maybe she came for the flowers. Maybe he came for the fruit. But they both ended up sipping a crisp, not-so-innocent rose cranberry juice—bright, refreshing, unforgettable. And for one moment, the world slowed down just enough for them to notice each other. That’s what North Beach feels like. Not just a market, but a memory in motion. A neighborhood exhale. A reminder that even in a city as fast as San Francisco, there’s still magic in slowing down.

Maryann the owner of the crafts stall has great and cool jewelry. I purchased dangling earrings of noodle bowls, green and red chili peppers 🌶. She is very creative with all her designs.

Nice little market with some great vendors. Highly recommend checking it out on a Saturday.

Such a good way to spend a Saturday morning! They have fresh fruits and vegetables alongside some great stands that sell fish, bagels, breakfast burritos, chilé sauce, and every jewelry. This morning I stopped by to see if they had sumo oranges and they did not disappoint! I also tried a bagel sandwich from Healdsburg Bagel Company. The bagel sandwich was the BEST I’ve ever had. It was so good I forgot to snap a photo haha. Overall, highly recommend!

Has everything I need! I'll stop by for a bottle of wine (and you get to taste it before you buy), Fresh eggs, food trucks and coffee vendors, flowers out of a cute vintage blue truck, Fresh veggies and fruit at very good prices! Arts and crafts to purchase for a birthday or host gift - This market is mighty, has great views, and selection is fantastic. Just go check it out! Support your local merchants

LOVE this Farmers' Market! Prices are very reasonable, ALL of the vendors are so genuinely warm and friendly, and there's a great variety of both produce, AND ready to eat prepared foods. Breakfast Tacos, anyone? Fresh coffee & donuts? Live music? North Beach Farmers' Market has it all!
