Their menu is very well arranged to begin with. The pictures are so appetizing! The real dishes are big in portions. The crispy rice soup is so special and definitely worth a try. The beef stew is also well braised and flavored. It is a rare find for chinese cuisine! The service was also superb

Expected more from a restaurant with a Michelin bib! Might have been the spicy mapu tofu that was so excruciatingly spicy that my mouth was numb and the cabbage that had essentially no flavor to it. The service was good, but we did ask the server various questions about spiciness and opinions due to a medical issue in our party, and I don’t think she knew the menu well enough after we compared the answers to the food lol! It was good but we were very disappointed with some dishes, which is why the review averages to a 3. The restaurant IS beautiful, they probably just need dimmer lights at night as it felt almost hospital-esque with how bright the lights were. It was a cool experience to come here, though! The one dish I HIGHLY recommend is the Mongolian beef (if I’m remembering correctly) and we wish we ordered 2!

Since I moved to Orlando, the Taste of Chengdu always came up in conversation about good Chinese food. So it's been on my list for a long time. So when it hit the Michelin Guide, the urgency of my visit grew exponentially. So, in between shows at the Florida Fringe Festival, I took my chance and struck. Ambiance is perfect. It's tucked away off of the Baldwin Park main street, meaning you basically have to be specifically seeking it out to find it. Inside, it's classically, mildly Chinese, and it has those awesome circle tables that have the giant Lazy Susan in the middle. I'm sure those have a real name I'm not aware of. Service was very nice. The lady asked us what we like, what spice levels we're comfortable with, and gave us recommendations. It was hard to choose, since there were so many different options. It was hard to find a proper, current menu online, so we were basically seeing the menu for the first time. We started off with the Dan Dan Noodle (Minced pork, veg). This was a warm up, only two Sichuan peppers for spice level. And it was lovely. Tons of noodles, completely slathered in the oily sauce that is customary with Sichuan cooking. Lot's of well-seasoned minced pork, and some steamed bok choy. A great little app. We moved on to Dumplings Sichuan Style (Pork). And these were also good! A lot of the same flavors from the pork, but the dumplings were expertly crafted, holding their shape. And that's saying something, because with how slippery they were, we were dropping them left and right with our chopsticks. Just very yummy. Onto the main entrees. I personally ate the Pork in Garlic Sauce (Sauteed w. celery, bell pepper and wood ear mushroom). Very good! The pork was super succulent, and the veggies were all cooked through, just a touch of al dente. The zingy garlic sauce was paired well with the earthy mushrooms. Just a nice dish. I also got to try the Beef in Hoisin Sauce (Beef Flank Steak with sweet hoisin sauce). These veggies had a little more of a bite to them, FYI, but slathered in all that hoisin, they were excellent. The texture the dish needed, because that beef was just tender tender. Very delicious and only slightly spicy meal. Overall, this place did not disappoint. Given the reputation of Sichuan cooking, I was looking forward to being at least moderately uncomfortable with the heat levels of the meal, but it seems like they spotted us gringos from a mile away and took it easy on us. I'm gonna be more explicit next time with my desire for heat. And yes, next time, because I will be back. Soon.

This authentic sichuan restaurant did not disappoint! My husband and I went for a Sunday afternoon lunch. We were greeted immediately upon entering and were seated in the main dining area. The chairs were very comfortable and the restaurant had a wonderful atmosphere. As for the food - W.O.W! We started with the hot and sour soup, pork sichuan dumplings (spicy), and the beef trio. All were delicious and layered with flavor! For our main course, we had the house spicy dry wok, LAZIJI Chengdu chicken, and the beef chengdu fire rice. The spice was spicy but not too spicy, the flavors were bold and delicious, and everything was freshly prepared and served immediately. The service was also top notch! I would definitely recommend for your next night out!

I like very few Chinese dishes but I love Mapo tofu and stir fried green beans. Both were fabulous here. The Mapo Tofu doesn’t have pork like most places. The Szechuan pepper was perfect with that addictive numbing. We also had the Lzian chicken, Beijing chicken (my least favorite) and braised brisket. The braised brisket was so spicy, whew! My ears were on fire. The Beijing was the least spicy. The rest were really perfect.

This place is the real deal. As someone who eats Chinese food religiously, it is -without exaggeration- one of the best (if not THE best) Sichuanese place I’ve tried outside of China. It executes the tried and true staples at an incredibly high level. The mapo tofu, boiled fish fillet, string beans, and cabbage were phenomenal. Flavors and textures were all 100% authentic and on point. My dad said the twice cooked pork is better than most versions he’s had in China (where he still lives). The value for money is unbeatable. $30 pp will leave you feeling stuffed. Service was also great. Just a note that they have another location that supposedly caters to more “native Chinese” tastes. But from our experience, you really can’t go wrong with either. Can’t wait to come back.

I've been a customer at the colonial location since they opened and finally gotten around to visiting this location. This place doesn't offer things like rabbit meat or frog legs due to the clients in the area but the food quality is still superb. The atmosphere is also nicer here and the service is excellent. They still offer a lunch menu which has more american chinese

Everything exceeded my expectations! I discovered Taste of Chengdu from an online blog post and then again on the Michelin Guide! The wonton sichuan was absolutely delicious and beautifully complex - sweet, savory and a little bit of heat! My favorite plate from our meal! The crispy beef had a crunchy exterior on tender strips of beef, the veggies were crisp and mixed very well with the beef! The Kung Pao chicken had a stronger pepper taste than I expected and use to but it was a good surprise and went great with the fried rice! I urge you to try this place out and get the wontons! I recommend dining in instead of getting takeout, we had some struggles ordering over the phone initially. 10/10 I will be coming back again!

Tasty authentic Chinese food! We started with the wontons that are served in a broth, it was so good and warm and just a great start to a meal! We also got the hoisin beef and taste of chengdu rice! I don't love jalapeños but it wasn't super overpowering with the flavor so that was great! I visited with my boyfriend who frequents here so the server knew him and was super friendly! The resultant itself is very pretty with fancy lights and comfortable seating.

Great Customer Service, beautiful location, food is really some of the best We have had. As a Party of 7 we each got to order a different dish and shared....We can't come up with just one winner.

Probably the best Chinese restaurant in Orlando. Authentic Sichuan flavors and tastes. Everything was right. We loved the pork belly and spicy dumplings. Having lived in China over 30 years, I am familiar with Chinese and Sichuan. Hard to get this authentic taste in Orlando. Lovely setting in Lake Baldwin next to Publix liquor store. Service a bit slow but okay. Most highly recommended.

OH MY GOD THE DUCK Paula is part owner and singular front of house staff in this spot. She is fantastic. Be nice to Paula. If you have the chance to go to chengdu I have some advice; 1) you MUST have a reservation. Call ahead. 2) if you call ahead and you are going with friends the 95$ 3 course duck is to die for. It's magnificent. Best bites I've had in Baldwin park. You need to order it 48 hours in advance. I found it went really well with the Malbec they have on menu. 3) the Dan Dan noodles can be served not spicy. Then they arrive in a delicate flavorful broth you will struggle not to drink at the table. 4) the egg fried rice is surprisingly complex and delicious. This spot is a great find for kids too. They are so kind to children and they will LOVE the rice. Do not miss taste of Chengdu.

Hands down the best Chinese food in Orlando 5/5 or 100/5!! We ordered chicken hot sour soup, spicy wonton, pork in garlic sauce and slow cooked pork belly. Friendly service. Cozy ambience, very spacious. We will definitely coming back!!

No need to really get too flowery here. This food is amazing. From what I understand it's an accurate example of the style and everything I've tried has been a hit. Flavors are never bland, seasoning is on point, perfect cook on the proteins. This is quite authentic Sichuan cuisine and I doubt anyone looking for that will walk away from Taste disappointed.

Delicious and authentic Chengu style Chinese restaurant! It was a very spacious restaurant and a good environment for family dining. The chicken bao, garlic eggplant and Dan Dan noodles were my favorites. The eggplant dish is a classic and is usually good, but this chef prepared it with the perfect mix of sweet and savory flavor, while not drowning in sauce. Definitely would recommend trying this place!! Food service was fast and the servers are so sweet.

This place came highly recommended, but I don't quite get the hype. The food wasn't extremely tasty and one of the dishes was so spicy it was not enjoyable at all. Overall, it was an extremely expensive dinner and not overly impressive. The chow mein that we got had tons of noodles, but just a couple of pieces of meat. The Dan Dan noodles had some weird ground meat in it that did not taste very good. For the price, I expect to be totally impressed with the food. I didn't get a chance to take a picture of the extremely spicy dish, in fact, I can't even remember the name of it. My husband can eat some extremely spicy things, but he said this one was not tasty at all. (For reference, it had a little green pepper balls in it.)

Ever since I discovered Taste Of Chengdu, it has become my go-to place for Sichuan food, and it never disappoints. Chef Tang not only is from Chengdu (the capital city of Sichuan), but also graduated from a culinary school in Chengdu, he definitely has brought the authentic taste of Chengdu to Orlando. But Chef Tang doesn't just stop here, he has created some new dishes, pushed the original Mala flavor to a higher level and made Taste Of Chengdu into Orlando Michelin guide. Taste Of Chengdu is located in beautiful Baldwin Park, it's tastefully decorated with Chinese sculptures and blown-up photos of Chengdu's cityscapes and the famous wide-narrow alleyway (宽窄巷子) street-food street. All its plates are elegantly custom-made. Dinning here is a feast for both sophisticated palates and artistic eyes. Since Chef Tang is the only one working in the kitchen for now, the restaurant can not run at its full capacity, you need to book a table ahead of time if you have a large party.

Wonderful Sichuan cuisine.  Every dish I've tasted is delicious.  And if you're adventurous in your eating, you'll really have a ball.  Service is also very good.  Highly recommend.

I have lived in Orlando for 5 years now and have on the search for a authentic yet delicious Chinese restaurant and I can proudly say I finally found one: Taste Of Chengdu. The restaurant serves family style dishes to be shared amongst your friends and family and trust me I say this... you're going to want to try everything this place has to offer. I went with a friend who is actually from China himself and he knew exactly what to order as he has had many of the dishes served here at his home country of China. Due to this I didn't get to look at the menu much but I can promise you my pictures greatly outlined what I ordered! One thing I love about Asian culture is the variety they offer when it comes to your meals and how colorful the food naturally is without any added preservatives! The food I can promise was cooked to perfection and was everything I could've asked for in a great Chinese meal! The service was also excellent as our waitress took care of all our needs and did so in a polite manner. I can't wait to come back here for more to try more of their amazing menu. This is a hidden gem and I can't wait to spread the word about this place!

Oh my god can't wait to go back. Went in big group and ordered so much food and if you can't take the spice then maybe this place isn't for you. Although they do have some no spicy version that we ordered for kids and the kids enjoyed them but all adults loved the spice. Octopus and chicken in appetizer were cold but yummy. Chicken in mala sauce has some peanut butter and some spice so loved it. Our favorite was fish filet in spicy sauce and wow it was spicy. It came with a lot of sauce so we brought sauce home and I added sautéed barramundi to make lunch for us next day - it was yummy Lucious and best bang for our buck as we got two meals out of it. We ordered rice cake desert that we didn't like as much but everything else was great. Dan Dan noodles are also a must.

Best Chinese food in Orlando! I absolutely love this place, and I was so sad when they closed temporarily. Very happy that they're back open now. They're doing take-out and reservation-only for dine-in right now. We went for dine-in and it was really delicious. My favorite dishes are the crispy beef and the pork in garlic sauce, but everything is really good, especially the spicy stuff. Also, you can BYOB of wine and pay a small corkage fee, which I highly recommend. All in all, this place is always a good choice for a tasty dinner!

WORTH IT! If you haven't been here, run. Authentic and delicious Sichuan style cooking. We ordered some pork dumplings, fried rice, Mapo tofu and eggplant in garlic sauce. I am drooling just thinking about this amazing meal. Everything was so flavorful with the perfect amount of heat! Service was super quick on a Sunday around 6pm. The inside is spacious and clean. I highly highly highly recommend. I have so much more to try.

Walked in. Was asked if we had a reservation. I didn't. Got some gobbledygook about to go orders and it's going to take awhile. Hardly anybody in the place. Left. Maybe train the staff better.

The food at Chengdu is always well prepared and delicious, but make sure you let the order taker know your preference in spicy hot! The chef tends towards heat. I always ask for mild because my palate will not endure anything too spicy. Great service, but because of popularity, best to order early especially for takeout! The Ambience is nice, not overwhelming. I have eaten there a number of times but prefer takeout! Either way, go early!

The Taste of Chengdu in Baldwin Park is finally open again after being closed for awhile. They are low on staff so it's currently reservations only. There was only one woman serving everyone in the dining room area and it was busy, you can tell service was a little hectic and they were still getting their bearings after reopening. Due to this the wait was long but I didn't mind waiting and completely understand the low staffing issues was a factor. Overall, I really enjoyed my chicken and vegetables dish. The chicken was soft and the sauce was not too overpowering. The only front desk staff was apologetic given the circumstances too.

The food here is truly amazing. We've eaten here several times since moving to Florida and it's been very consistent. Wonderful hot & sour soup! And spicy wontons.... Must get every time!! Today we ordered a beef and pork dish with fried rice. Can't say how much we love the Taste of Chendu. We've been to the Colonial location a couple of times but prefer the Baldwin Park location. A must try if you like Sichuan cuisine.

We were lucky enough to get one of two available tables as the restaurant prepares to reopen for dining. Talk about authentic cuisine. We were so busy eating and enjoying the food, I didn't get the names of the dishes. One dish not pictured, was the green beans and they were spicy and mouth watering. Great for an appetizer. Being Szechuan, the food was very spicy but we were warned in advance and enjoyed every second.

Delicious and Fresh!!!! We ordered early for takeout. Large family dinner at our home. Everyone was happy with their meal plus we all shared. Now recommending to all of our friends!

Came by for lunch and notice they were only open for take out at this time. Lucky there were bench tables in the area where we were able to sit and eat. We ordered our food and took about 30 mins for it to be done. We just walked around the area as we waited for our food. I suggest calling in and order to save time. I was able to try the Dan Dan noodles, spicy wontons, salt and pepper shrimp, and beef in spicy Sichuan sauce. Great amount of flavors in all of the food items. The wontons were okay. I wouldn't order them again. The spicy beef soup was enjoyable but numbing. The bok choy went well with the dan dan noodles. Waiting for the colonial location to be open, since it's closer to me.

I love spicy food!! And this is the place for pretty authentic Szechuan Chinese style cuisine. Since the pandemic I've gotten take out here multiple times and it's always been delicious even after we bring things home. My favorite dish is any of the Dry wok dishes like the vegetarian or the fish one... so amazing The atmosphere is nice and well decorated, especially for an Asian restaurant... hate to say it that way, but a lot of authentic places in the area definitely lack style and ambiance. The staff for take out and the bar are usually friendly and they have pretty good customer service, which is usual lacking in Chinese restaurants sadly. I'm glad to see such thriving, authentic restaurant like Taste if Chengdu surviving and overcoming the pandemic and flourishing at Baldwin Park. Keep up the good work, and I can't wait to return.

The food is good; I wish I could have it again after the one time I got to try it. Unfortunately, despite what their website says, they really do not do takeout. We have tried calling probably 5 or 6 times at this point, and every time they have said that they are too busy and can only serve the sit-down people with reservations. It doesn't seem to matter what day or time we call--even on a Monday right at opening time, they are apparently too swamped for a takeout order. I'm happy to see a local business doing so well, but they should either make it clear that they do not accept takeout orders anymore or hire the kitchen staff necessary to do so.

I LOVE this restaurant. I used to frequent the location by the fairgrounds precovid and haven't been in a long time. I stumbled upon the Baldwin park location and made it a point to dine there. Did not disappoint. It was a busy evening but the gal running the front did an EXCELLENT job on her own. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Butni recommend making the La Zi chicken a MUST

When I lived in Hong Kong, one of our comfort meals was going down the street to our local Sichuan restaurant. Taste of Chengdu is a comfort meal for us. It brings back memories and the flavors hit home. Here's my suggestion. Try the whole menu! It's all good and you won't be disappointed. But here's my top 5: TBT, Double Cooked Pork, Laziji Chicken, Braised Beef Brisket (of the fish version), Green Tea Fried Rice. Taste of Chengdu is hands down the best Chinese restaurant in Orlando. I dare you to fight my words because you'll lose.

Went with my mom sister and nephew, we were quickly sat and very well attended. The food is large plates and very much so family style. Which we loved!! The cucumber soup is a MUST TRY. Decadent, rich and creamy, so flavorful. I would say 10/10 just for the soup. The tea was nice and the rest of the food was very tasty. All fresh and hot. Overall a great experience.

Excellent food but non-existent service. The owners apparently refuse to hire wait staff so it looks like they have young family members attempting to fill in. I went there to a near empty restaurant to eat at the bar. I was told it would be thirty minutes until the could take my order. The owner said it was because she could not hire people to work there. I would love to support a local business but it's difficult when the owners treat customers like an annoyance.

I went here during my lunch break and was asked to eat my food OUTSIDE in the cold all because they made a mistake and put my order in a plastic to go container. Its very disrespectful to ask someone who PAID full price for a meal to eat OUTSIDE !!! Never again will I spend a single penny in this place!! Horrible!!!!

Have you ever tried a place and then they took a vacation and all you could carve was their food? Taste of Chengdu was a traditional Sunday dinner for my partner and myself. It's the perfect place that you can be casual, but still feel like you are having a nice date night. They have nice outdoor and indoor seating for whatever you prefer when it comes to dining. Recently they took a 2 month break, but opened back up and only are doing take out. Let me tell you, the day they opened back up I have been back several times. All the food is amazing and super consistent. Every time you go you know exactly what you are getting. I will warn you that we pre-ordered and ending up having to wait about an hour, but we did not leave the house until it got close. The food was warm and perfect when we got it, therefore it was 100% worth it. I only warn you if you are looking for fast take out. All the food is pretty reasonably priced for what you are getting. This isn't just a typical asian take out food, it is high quality ingredients so you will be paying for it. You also can make 2-3 meals out of it depending on how much you eat. So two dinners for the price? Win win in my books! A few of my favorites are the eggplant and mapo tofu, my partner always goes with either the fried rice or cold noodles. They are many options ranging for vegans, vegetarians, meat lovers, kids. They truly have it all. This is truly a hidden gem in Orlando, I am shocked how many people have not heard about this place!!

Don't come here! We came on a sat afternoon around 530pm. In the entire restaurant there were three tables with customers. The front desk person said they don't have any availability for the evening. He showed no desire to accommodate after we said we could wait for a bit.

I had been hearing so many wonderful things about Taste of Chengdu from friends, so we decided to make a triple date night out of it and check out the newest location in Baldwin Park. I'm so glad we went with experienced diners who had been there many times and knew exactly what to order. The menu is very large and looks a bit intimidating at first, but I'm so glad we decided to share dishes across the table. I got to try so many things I would have never ordered on my own, and everything was fantastic! Seriously, there wasn't a single dish I didn't love! Some of our friends are vegetarians, so we ordered a lot of veggie/tofu dishes and they were all incredible. I'm definitely a meat-eater, but I'd go back just for the veggies alone. Some of my favorites were the cucumber salad (#302), sauteed green beans (#805), Mapo Tofu (#801), and the spicy wok vegetables with cauliflower, potato, onion, and bell peppers (#D-04). I love spicy food, so we definitely ordered some plates that were packed with heat & favor. You won't want to miss the Sichuan Cold Noodles (#201) and the Spicy Wontons Sichuan Style (#202). These two dishes were definitely at the top of my list! We also ordered a few meat dishes for the meat lovers at our table, and I could not get enough of the Double Cooked Pork Belly (#602). I don't typically opt for pork belly because it's a bit too fatty for me, but not this one! It was sliced super thin, and it was so tender and flavorful. I may have eaten the majority of this one and forgot to share -- OOPS. We received wonderful service from the owners Paula and the chef himself who came by our table frequently to bring out our food and check in on us. They are so kind and you really get that cozy/family/home-cooked meal vibe when you're here. We can't wait to go back and do it all over again!

I went to the taste of chengdu when it was down on w. Colonial, so i was excited to try this closer location. Plus I love Baldwin park! We got a bunch of stuff to try all together (: Me and the bf got my fav- Dan Dan mian, some double fried pork, cabbage, la zi ji, and our friends got a beef dish and some dumplings and a few other things. I'll review what I enjoyed the most Dan Dan mian: perfectly ma la spicy and the noodles were well cooked (a bit chewy and not too soft). It could've been a little more saucy as the noodles were sticking together a little, but the flavor was great ! Double fried pork (I think that's what it's called): probably my fav ! It was crispy fatty pork with a strong pork flavor which wasn't covered up by any sauce, and vegetables too. I liked the leeks in it Cabbage: it was crispy and seasoned so nicely. Very simple where you can taste the salt and light seasonings but the flavor of the cabbage itself was front and center. Laziji: I love the flavor of this and I always love a good fried chicken dish. It was a bit oilier and less dry than I'm used to tho Overall the food was good, but the service was kinda slow lol even tho there were only a few tables left at night Regardless I'd probably go back again since it's in a nice area !

I LOVE Taste of Chengdu! It feels like a higher-end, more authentic version of my husband's go-to takeout spots- and the food is full. of. flavor. (Bring me all the spicy!! ) I am so excited that the Baldwin location is open again. We have only had takeout in the past but looking forward to trying dine-in soon!

Taste of Chengdu is the home of my absolute favorite dish in all of Orlando: the cabbage. It's so light, so flavorful, and so perfectly cooked. Perfect Szechuan chili flavor. Other notable mentions: the dry pot, the eggplant, and the cold noodles. The service here is always incredible. The vegetarian options truly can't be beat. The hot tea is delicious. They've switched to reservation only for dine in, so make sure you call ahead! Definitely take the time to check this place out, I love it and want them to stick around forever.

I had dinner here last night with some friends and it was spectacular! We decided to share several items and everything was delicious. If I had to pick a few favorites, I'd probably say the Cumin Beef, Spicy Pot, and the Salt & Pepper Shrimp; but really it was all so flavorful and beautifully presented. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a lovely ambiance and the servers were very nice and attentive. I can't wait to come back.

Seriously, this is the spot! They set themselves apart for the "typical" Florida Chinese restaurant. The crispy beef, Chengdu fried rice and dumplings had me wanting to stay for seconds on all. This place did not disappoint. Will drive again from Pinellas County to have the crispy beef. Enjoy!

I've read so many reviews that said this is one of the best overall restaurants in Orlando, one of the best chefs in Orlando, and one of the best Chinese restaurants in Orlando. So wow, I needed to check it out. This is mainly Szechuan style so expect a lot of heat! They do have some tame dishes as well. And there are a few authentic dishes which is super awesome to see. The restaurant is medium sized in an L shape with a really nice bar In the middle. Went for lunch on a weekday with only one other table being used. Service was perfect. Trust me, I've been in empty dining rooms with terrible service. It's a very nice, a bit upscale, but not intimate. Wait staff were nice and helpful. Let's talk food! The cucumber salad is hands down the best cucumber salad I've ever had of any cuisine. The cucumbers with crisp and crunch and coated with salt and sugar. The sugar threw both my wife and me. So unique! Plus the soy glaze was delicious. Perfect cooling side dish to tame the heat of other dishes. 6 out of 5 stars! The Dan Dan noodles were very good. Although they are rated at the highest spice level, I would consider them to be mild. My wife thought they were medium. So they need to raise the heat on this one. Also it needs a lot more beef and maybe some crushed peanuts. But otherwise the noodles are great and the sauce is delicious. 4 out of 5 stars. My wife had the hoisin beef which is not spicy. Imagine getting the absolute best version possible of beef and vegetables from takeout. The beef was melt in your mouth. Veg were perfectly cooked. Slightly sweet sauce. Good balance of ginger and garlic. I mean perfect. 5 out of 5 stars. The braised beef was rated as spicy just like the Dan Dan noodles. But oh boy, this is a different league. It's braised flank steak with stewed cabbage and leeks. Maybe Some other veg too. It's swimming in chili oil. And a ton of ground Szechuan peppercorns. So the peppercorns totally numb the tongue. That is critical! Because this is really really spicy. I love hot food. I've moved the Carolina reaper hot sauces because habaneros are too mild lol. My head was soaked when I was done. Oh and it was delicious. The beef was melt in your mouth. And the sauce over rice was magic. The waiter said this was their go to dish. Ge this one if you can take it! 5 out of 5 stars! Truly a fantastic restaurant. We can't wait to go back and explore more of the menu.

What is American Cuisine? Is it Southern Fried Chicken? A Mid-West Ribeye? An Elegant Coastal Meal? A Texas Brisket? Wisconsin Cheese Curds? A Philly Cheese Steak? Hawaiian Pizza? We live in such a diverse country and all of it is American food. Chinese Cuisine is equally as diverse, and this Sichuan restaurant captures the essence of another region completely different from your local take-out place. Ever since I dined on delicious Chinese food in NYC, this restaurant has been on my radar. The star of this restaurant is NOT any particular dish, it's the Sichuan Peppercorn. This magic berry ignites a tingling effect in your mouth kind of like and adult version of pop rocks candy. If you haven't experienced the sensation, it's kind of spicy but more because it's tricking your mouth. They're kind of limited on Vegan options but did have a few dishes that the waitress recommended. I went with the Mapo Tofu, which is a soft tofu dish that typically is made with pork, but their version does not (their other location I'm told put pork in it, so make sure you check). This elegant dish reminded me of the dish I had in NYC and would imagine is pretty authentic (I can't comment as I haven't been to China... yet). Excellent dish but you have to be down with the soft style tofu. Others at the table dined on dumplings (I may have snuck one into my mouth), chicken and pork dishes and everyone was satisfied. They bring out re-usable chopsticks with disposable wooden tips so you can feel save about eating. We dined outside as it was a beautiful afternoon. Service was excellent with lots of drink refills and recommendations about their food. I would totally eat here again. Excellent food and excellent service!

Returned for lunch here again for takeout. The eggplant, green beans in garlic sauce really made an impression on me. It has become my go to comfort dish from them. To have it for lunch is such a treat. The next time I order for takeout I will definitely try something new, but man is that dish so good. I have eaten here for their non-lunch dishes and they are deeeeelicious. Highly recommend. Service is quick and efficient. I look forward to making a reservation there for dining in.

I will start by saying that I'm not a huge Szechuan fan, but I love spice and trying new (to me) restaurants . The interior was beautiful, welcoming, and you didn't feel like you were right on top of other guests. The servers were friendly and attentive. We ordered the salad with ginger dressing- delicious with a hint of sesame and dumplings that were tender and melted in your mouth to start. We shared the spicy fried chicken and braised beef. Both dishes were spicy, but the flavors were not compromised by the heat. Both came with a cup of rice.

We were super sad to hear the restaurant that was here was no longer returning. Although we gave East of Chengdu "Baldwin Style" a try. There are two "Taste of Chengdu's" that I know of. One is off of colonial offering dim sum and the other now here in Baldwin Park. I believe they are going for a more elevated vibe as their presentation from small white plates have turned into gold bowls and deep circle dishes. In full transparency I have never not eaten dim sum when at Taste of Chengdu but this location seems to only offer family style platters. If I understood the menu correctly this joint tends to particularly highlight the szechuan pepper. I do like that they separate out the proteins and veggie options. The cook was slow and washed off the spicy marinade on our daughter octopus so she can eat something. Overall everything tasted okay. I had better szechuan dishes but that was in China so for America this was good! Its also exciting that there is a different style of food and cooking being introduced to the Orlando community!

Although they are currently only doing takeout, this is not your strip mall Chinese takeout. The food has depth and was well crafted. Since we stopped eating mammal several years ago we were happy to find a dish similar to the pig ear version we use to love. The conch in chili oil was a great alternative, had just the right amount of heat and perfect texture. We will definitely order this again. The eggplant in garlic sauce was a hefty portion, we asked for mild/medium. Again the heat was pleasant without being lip numbing. If you want lip numbing they can accommodate. The eggplant was tender and sweet. Only wish there was another texture in the dish. Hot and Sour soup was tasty, had a nice umami from the mushrooms though could have used a bit more vinegar. Will order from them again to try more of the menu.
