We went early on a Saturday afternoon and were easily able to get table. We had brisket sandwiches, pimento cheese hushpuppies, and crackers and pimento cheese. For the price this was a great value, there were good servings and the sandwiches were loaded. The food was outstanding. The sandwiches were really good and the brisket had a wonderful taste. The french fries were good enough to stand on their own. The pimento cheese was outstanding. The service was quick and helpful. I enjoyed the outdoor seating. I will definitely be back soon!

My family and I went to Longleaf Swine for the first time last Friday night. It was a great experience. We found nearby parking and were seated immediately. We loved the outdoor seating. The barbecue items were delicious and a good portion. The atmosphere was very enjoyable and the service was very timely and often. The servers were very pleasant and accommodating. The bill was very reasonable. We will be going again soon.

I LOVE this place! This was probably my 6th visit. I've been trying to try something different each time. Today I chose the brisket melt, a beautiful sandwich but it wasn't for me. I figured out I don't like my brisket well done and of course this goes on flavor for the melt. Duh on me! I didn't even think of me. But the manager/bartender was so nice. He offered to make me something else but I was full from the Esquites(which is a wonderful corn dish). He gave me a free banana pudding to bring home and comped my skins I had order to bring home. Thank you soooooo much!!!!!!

Absolutely fantastic pulled pork and the sides were equally good. (The esquites!!!) Highly recommend, cocktails were very good as well. They had the perfect NC vinegar BBQ sauce as well as a wonderful Carolina Gold sauce. Service / atmosphere all smooth and friendly.

Great barbecue, great atmosphere, great staff. Was in town for work for 4 days, ate here 2 times. These 2 meals were amazing. Best brisket in Raleigh hands down. The wings were fantastic. Has indoor and outdoor seating.

Smoked full chicken wings (carolina gold sauce) with an order of fries. Food was amazing. Only giving 4 stars due to a person preference. A little crispness to the wings would have been a perfect 5 stars for me. All in all, the flavor was great perfect amount of sauce and very filling. Highly recommend!!!

Went here on suggestion and definitely glad I took the advice. All the meat was smoked well with great flavors. The sides are great too. They are on par with the meats being very flavorful. Service was prompt and friendly. Big surprise was mainly outside seating so weather temperature can make this difficult. Good visibility of mixed drinks and everyone at our table loved their and thought there were well balanced. This place worth going out of your way to eat here. Would an to come back to this one it is that good.

The food was very good and the sauces were great. The food arrived quickly and the service was very attentive but not overbearing. The outdoor seating area was very pleasant as well. A good selection of local draft beer too. I would definitely come back.

Best BBQ in Raleigh. Not even close. The brisket is as close as you'll get to Texas - reminds me of La Barbecue in Austin. Brisket, Ribs, Pulled Pork and Potato Salad are 10/10. Beer and cocktails available as well. They have a large covered outside area that makes up the majority of the restaurant that is open year round. Inside area is small for dine in. Great local spot. Nice staff. Go check it out.

This was SO GOOD. The food here is to die for. The brisket sandwich had the crispiest pickles and the meat was so juicy. The sides were amazing and really fresh. They also had 4 different kinds of BBQ sauces to try. I'd go here again tonight. Their alcoholic drink menu is extensive- sadly we didn't get anything this time, but it's for sure on our list for later. We sat outside and it's definitely got that hip NC vibe to it. Seating is pretty much covered, so sitting outside on a hot day isn't an issue here. You have to pay by phone and there aren't any wait staff to help you out, so just be prepared that it's kinda self ser

OK location on the corner. Free parking caddy-corner across the intersection on the weekend. Minimalist atmosphere. You order on your phone , so what little interaction you have with the staff they are friendly. More space outside than in. An indoor and outdoor bar with some TVs. But what gets them the 5 stars is the food and the sauces. The whole hog pulled pork tastes good without any sauce on it. The true test of a BBQ place. Too bad they don't have a 2 meat option or I would have tried the brisket too. Well, along with the tasty pulled pork, all the sauces tasted good too. And I've never said that. Usually a couple or one tastes good but all hit the mark here. You'll have to try them to judge. They also don't get the 5 stars unless the sides are really good too. Very flavorful collards. The roasted and fried sweet potatoes tasted good too with the candied pepitas and agave. I will be back.

Y'all I love this place. From the pimento mac & cheese to the pulled pork with multiple table sauces to the roasted sweet potatoes topped with goat cheese to the chicken wings, it all rules. They have a ton of outdoor seating and a bar and you can just order from a QR code at your table. Also props for the quirky menu items like the frito pie and the ribbler. Seriously you have to try it.

One of the biggest downsides to this place is no designated parking lot. They do have a page on their website with nearby lots shown, but it's still annoying to drive around looking for a spot and then waking several blocks to eat. Not really their fault, but would discourage me from frequenting this much. Service was very fast when I was there on a Thursday at 5pm. It only took about 2 minutes for my food (to go) to be brought out. Be sure to check your bag for utensils and napkins! The pork sandwich was good, but I wish I'd grabbed some sauce before leaving. It could've used just a little bit more pizazz. The pimento Mac and cheese was good. It had some crunchy topping on it. Unfortunately, the pork didn't agree with my stomach later but that could be a me issue! Food was still good.

Very good pulled pork BBQ, with a variety of sauces. I preferred a combo of the spicy and vinegar. Nice outdoor space. Friendly bartenders. Could have better variety of beers on tap.

First time checking the place out and it didn't disappoint. I got the pulled bbq pork sandwich with the pimento Mac n cheese. The sandwich also came with a small side of coleslaw. I chose a tangy hot-sauce to go along with my sandwich. The sandwich was flavorful and seasoned well. The Mac n cheese was very good as well. I came here with family and we ordered a bunch of things family style. I'll start by saying most of the seating is outdoors (and covered), but there is some indoor seating as well. To order, you scan the QR code on the table and basically order via your phone instead of someone taking your order. For a big group, this can be more time-consuming, but that's how it is. In the future, especially in a bigger group, I would probably order online before heading over there, and then if I wanted to eat there, grab a table and eat my "to go" order there. The reason I mentioned that is because our order came out very slowly (it was busy and we had a big order, but there were some people who got there around the same time as us that got their orders a lot quicker), and somehow they missed a dish as well (which they ended up not charging us for). In terms of the food, their side dishes were unique and mostly good. My favorite was the Pimento Mac & Cheese, which was creamy and flavorful - the pimento was not too spicy so my kids enjoyed it too. The French Fries were also pretty solid in terms of crispiness and flavor. The rest of the sides we tried - Slaw, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, and Esquites - all had their unique twists, and were decent. We all shared half a pound of pulled pork BBQ and Pork Spare Ribs. The BBQ was cold by the time it came out to us, but we were so hungry that we didn't want to have to wait for them to bring us a hot tray. The ribs were a little too crusty and burnt on the exterior for my preference, but the inside was tender. I also tried some of their brisket melt sandwich, and the meat had decent (but again, a bit too burnt on the crust) flavor and smokiness but was a little dry. For the fact that you have to mostly serve yourself (we had to get our own drinks, go in to ask for extra silverware, order via our phones), the price point isn't really worth it, in my opinion. The space was nice, and the bathroom was very clean. Parking was easy - we just parked at the Post Office since it was a Sunday. But unfortunately our overall experience was just average.

The first time that I tried Longleaf was when they were a food truck but now they are located in Downtown Raleigh in the space previously occupied by Oakwood Cafe. I did not like that you could only order the meats by the 1/2 pound, it was too much food for wanting to try more than one but we ended up ordering the brisket and BBQ. For sides we split the pimento mac & cheese, roasted sweet potatoes, slaw, esquites and a piece of cornbread. We liked the sides more than the meats, our favorites were the mac & cheese, roasted sweet potatoes and brisket.

I was really disappointed in this place especially after reading all the positive reviews. Maybe I went too late in the day, or a bad night? Regardless the food was terrible! So a place that calls itself a barbecue restaurant should have good barbecue, so that's what I ordered. What I got was completely dried out and had absolutely no smoke flavor at all. I also ordered the pimento mac and cheese, it was decent but why can't places bake their mac and cheese? I thought maybe the chocolate chess pie would save the meal, but nope, it tasted very old. The only thing saving this restaurant is the cool outdoor seating area, otherwise I see zero reason to go here because the food is not anything to write home about!

My first trip to Longleaf Swine was super solid, with thumbs-up across the board. Pulled pork with vinegar sauce was probably the best bite I had. Brisket and ribs both get a B+ from me. We went for lunch on a sunny Saturday and sat outside. Ordered through a QR code, which felt a little impersonal for BBQ, but ultimately the food came out promptly and they got our big order right. I'll definitely come back on a low-key weeknight to compare the dinner menu and more intimate experience. At the risk of sounding basic, the French fries were a must-order side, especially because of their amazing malt vinegar aioli sauce. Mac and cheese was up there, too. The whole-hog BBQ seemed to be their bread and butter to me. Juicy, subtle smoke, nice mix of textures and some great sauces on the table to accent it. Four stars for great (but not transcendent) BBQ. I'm excited to go back and try some different menu items. It's definitely worth a visit.

Longleaf Swine BBQ is a relatively new restaurant in Raleigh. It opened about three months ago and started as a food truck. They do whole hog BBQ with the smoker in the back of the restaurant. The inside of the restaurant is small with 7 tables and 6 bar stools at the bar section. There are many tables outside with heaters though. They are in the spot where the Oakwood Cafe was and a Texaco gas station. If you sit at a table you need to order from a QR code but if you sit at the bar section where we ended up they took your order directly. Fountain drinks and iced tea are located in a corner of the restaurant and you serve yourself. The sauces options are sweet; tangy; gold and vinegar. I went with the pulled pork and sweet sauce. I thought I ordered a sandwich but I just got the meat which is fine with me. For sides I went with esquites (corn) and roasted sweet potatoes with goat cheese and walnuts. I didn't realize the size of the sides so had to take most of the potatoes to go. I had also ordered a banana pudding. It was the third time I tried to order it in the past few weeks so I finally got some! Then as I enjoyed what I was eating wanted to try more so went with the ribs; pimento mac n cheese and cornbread to go. I also did the chocolate chess tart to go. So this was a lot to try and took a few meals. My favorites were the pulled pork and esquites. The sweet potatoes were better in the restaurant than reheated but they were still good with that goat cheese! I also enjoyed the pimento mac n cheese. But the Mexican street corn was so very good. I do wish they could do a side sampler where you could get a smaller portion of a few sides. The chocolate chess tart was good but the banana pudding was exceptional. I can't forget that cornbread either. I think I found a new go to place for BBQ :-)

Given all the high star ratings, I'm guessing that Raleigh is, surprisingly, not a barbeque town. This place is such a cool space and so hyped but man, the meat just sucked. I was so excited to get some pulled pork, but the meat was dry. Even after dousing it in half a bottle of the awesome vinegar - it was like eating fiberglass. The brisket was surprising good. Very passable brisket. But I expected a place with swine in the name, in Carolina, to have great pork. Guess not. Now the smash burger is amazing. As are the side dishes. I would come back for the pimento Mac n cheese. As someone has been to over 150 BBQ joints - the sweet potatoes with goat cheese are a top 5 BBQ side in America! Fries are good I would come back but no way in hell would I order that dry-ass pork. Probably best to stick to a burger or maybe a brisket sandwich. The sauce lineup gets a solid B+. Great vinegar. I really really wanted to love this place. I love small town bbq. We were visiting oakwood cemetery and it's just around the corner. My wife and I got a sampling. The good- atmosphere was great. Great weather outdoor picnic tables. The chicken pot pie was the highlight. Best item we had. The bad. Cornbread was burned. It's pan corn bread. Top and bottom burned. Service is almost self serve. Order via iPhone. No one comes out to offer water or check anything. A food runner drops off food. This is a food court experience. They ask for 18 - 20% gratuity. Pickle martini. Tasted like a cheap martini w dill. Mediocre. 3 ribs $11. Brunswick stew was watery and vinegar based. Similar to other reviews. They should try Smithfield Brunswick stew.

Visiting from Orlando to NORTH CAROLINA. Of course we have to try bbq. The atmosphere was very chill and relaxing. It was outdoors and self seated/self order/self pay. Everything done electronics. Very advanced which is a plus! Mac & cheese was good Fries are good Baked beans didn't have as much flavor as I was expecting Collard greens was average, not the best I've had but not bad. Coleslaw was on the bland side The pulled pork was cooked perfect; juicy and soft The bbq ribs was a bit too dry for us. The banana pudding was BoMB I think banana pudding was best part of dinner, then came pulled pork. I honestly was expecting a bit more Gave 4 stars bc good service and good atmosphere.

This is a nice, family-and-community oriented restaurant. There were more folks sitting outside than in. The tall heaters helped tremendously on this brisk winter evening. The owners started with a food truck. That business was every successful. Then, the restaurant was devised. The location is perfect! They get the lunch crowd and the afternoon and evening/night crowd. It is my understand that the lunch line will snake around the corner and down the street on many days. Customers don't mind the wait but it's best to order ahead. The drink options are plentiful (full bar), as are the food options. I enjoyed the Spiked Apple Cider - perfect for a cold night. I will note that arrival after dinner may result in them being out of certain items (banana pudding, ribs). They were not out of brisket. I had a taste from the plate of a table mate. It was delicious as only a nice smoked slab of brisket can be! Fortunately, I didn't see a sampler (of everything) option on the menu. I also sampled the Pimento Mac & Cheese and it will be on my plate when I next visit. I ordered the Collard Green Melt. It is a Vegetarian option with fresh apple, collards, crispy tobacco onions, muenster cheese, on toasted sourdough bread. It spoke to me and I had to have it. It was divine as it was something different. However, on my next visit, I will also order the brisket! I saw that many around me were ordering sandwiches which looked hearty. All of the staff were helpful and cordial. I can't wait to visit again! Oh, you can easily order via the tag and pay the same way.

The wait is over now that Longleaf Swine has opened up their bricks and morter on Edenton Street! Located in the corner lot that used to be the Oakwood Cafe (you will be missed), the building was torn down and a brand new build for a modern barbeque joint commenced. Over the course of a year, the space got built out with counter service and bar inside, a large covered patio and second bar outside. The restaurant is pretty new but right now they are serving up whole-hog barbeque, brisket, ribs and smoked chicken. From what I understand, they will pivot toward smashburgers for dinner and I'm assuming, since they can run out of smoked meats for the day. My first visit was solid but a bit confusing, order online at ToastTab for table service and then your food is brought out to you. For takeout orders, go to a bartender. My food runner could not bring me my beer and I wasn't sure where to get my beer. And I had no details on my order (by email) so I couldn't remember which beer I ordered. The food at Longleaf is solid, I'll need a couple of more visits to decide where they fit in the Triangle barbeque landscape. With BBQ Lab opening in North Hills, we've now got some great options in the area for smoked eats. But congrats to Longleaf on the long trip to getting its space built out during the pandemic. It was worth the wait, in my opinion...

Finally got a chance to try the newest bbq restaurant in downtown Raleigh. I got the Brisket Melt that comes with sliced brisket, Muenster cheese, Horsey sauce and onions. I was little disappointed that it come on a sourdough bread like it was mentioned on the menu and instead came on a regular bun. However the sandwich was nice and flavorful. Hopefully they were just out of the sourdough bread and this is not a permanent thing. For my side I got Esquites which is basically their take on s Mexican street corn. It has corn, poblano, onion, cilantro, cotija and is served warm. I'm a Mexican street corn fan so i loved it. The Chocolate Chess tart is a must have. I 100% recommend getting it. I would have had a second one if I wasn't so full lol. I'll definitely go back again to try their pulled pork and ribs. And ofcourse more chocolate chess tart.

Staff was absolutely great and the meat and fries where fantastic. The sides needed some work. The beans are very bland and a bit runny, the needed to be a bit sweeter and firmer. The coleslaw was just ok and nothing special for the price. The stew was actual more of a soup and very oily, was missing the traditional tomato flavors. Had a lot of meat and broth, but very little beans, corn and onions.

I had the smash burger. It was very good and juicy. It had homemade picks, and cooked onions. I also had pimento cheese mac and cheese. It was good it was cold. I wish it would have been hot. We had to order by phone. There is a scan sticker on the table. You can not use cash. It seems as if the focus of the restaurant is the bar. I think the burger was $15.00 and $4.00 sides. The drink was $3.00. They do have vegetarian options. Not vegan from what I saw.

I went after doing some work downtown. I ordered the half chicken with slaw and hush puppies. They didn't have any baked beans that day unfortunately. The chicken and golden colored bbq sauce was solid. You can taste the smoke but it's not overpowering. The slaw was ok. Not what I'm used to I guess. I'll be back to try the pork.

I anticipated the brisket would be melting in my mouth but after one bite I can say ..Don't believe the hype! It was okay. I appreciated the variety of sauce options but the star of my meal was the pimento mac and cheese. The mac was fluffy,cheesy and the breadcrumbs were the perfect touch to provide me with the perfect bite. I would certainly swing by again and and grab some mac n cheese to-go. However, there are several other places to grab some decent brisket that does not require you dousing your meat in sauce. Try Prime Barbecue, Smiths Smokehouse and Dampf Good BBQ.

I am seriously impressed by this place! They offer delicious smoked meat and interesting sides that sets this place apart from the plethora of other BBQ options we have in Raleigh.

Be aware it's a bit loud, but the barbeque and slaw were good. The staff was friendly and attentive on things like that removal, etc. The Brunswick stew was more of a vinegar-based soup and a disappointment. Also, the chocolate chess pie was good and amply whipped cream. Would I try it again definitely, will it be a - I've got to have it, probably not.

My adult son loves the BBQ. French fries are crispy but not hard, definitely good. Mac and cheese, collards, cornbread (yes, it's sweet), and sweet potatoes are very good. Brunswick stew is nowhere near the expected NC version: it's a clear broth with lots of meat and a sprinkling of veggies. Definitely not getting it again.

We finally made it to LongLeaf Swine, they just celebrated their 1 year anniversary in their brick and mortar location. Hands down they have the best sides of any Que restaurant in Raleigh. For sides we had the potato salad, which had a perfect amount of dill, the roasted/deep-fried, sweet, potatoes are now a favorite of mine. We also had the pimento Mac and cheese which we have enjoyed before when they were featured at Wye Hill. The collards had a vinegar base, which was unique tasting and Esquites (corn) side had a little spice and was a hit. The Collard Green Melt Sandwich has just topped my favorite sandwich list!!! My dining partner had the pulled pork sandwich which was served on a union special bun. They have a well stocked bar, especially for a bourbon drinker like me. You won't be disappointed if you dine in or take out from LongLeaf Swine.

The food here is fantastic. Very generous portions and extremely quick service. Definitely recommend. Family and dog friendly.

Great place! The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The fried okra is a new item and the best we have had in Raleigh! It's a must! Brunswick stew was also the best in Raleigh as well. Don't miss this place!

Place has a cool, hip vibe. Plenty of heaters outside at every table. Indoor dining is limited This is a QR Code place- order everything on your phone. Not my favorite when I go out, but it worked out to be efficient with the staffing shortages most places have these days. Just make sure you scan the code where you are sitting- each table has their own code. Service was quick; food was hot and delicious. I had the Brunswick stew and corn bread. My wife had a brisket sandwich and sweet potatoes. All was delicious. Plenty of bike parking and car parking. Great for downtown.

Get the brisket and the sweet potato side and then come back and like this review for making your day

The ribs looked terrible. My husband and grandson both had them. There was no meat on them just fat. I had the brisket sandwich and my daughter had the smash burger. Two of us had Mac n cheese. We tried all the sauces which weren't great but not bad tasting. ALL of us got sick from the meal even though we ate different things on the menu. I won't be going back. I have to put a star to post this but I actually give it 0 stars. The service was okay, not great, not terrible.

Great spot for barbecue. The brisket was pretty good, and was good as a sandwich too. The quarter chicken is really good too! We loved the sides like pimento Mac and cheese and street corn. Mac and cheese was excellent. Cornbread was very dry. Bbq was fine but have had much better. Disappointed

Really good Q. Although the pork was a bit dry the brisket however was the standout. and cheese I have ever tasted. The collard greens were well seasoned to, and also enjoyed the coleslaw. The spare ribs were I think my favorite meat.

Would've been nice to know the sides are 1/2 the size compared to eat in. Will not do takeout again.

The food we tried was 5/5 for DELICIOUS. Small tables inside, more outdoor seating. You seat yourself and use the QR code to order food. Your card gets "pre authorized" kinda like starting a tab. If everyone at the table gets their card pre authorized, you can split the bill easily. There are heaters outside for cooler weather. Staff was great. Oh did I mention the food? It was WONDERFUL. More delicious restaurant food I have had in a long time.

Just basic bbq, avoid it. If you've never had que outside of the Carolinas you might like it. First the Good: 1) Service was good, lots of seating and easy phone ordering and paying. 2) The sauces were all legit great. Especially the tangy, but not a bad one, easily the highlight of the meal. 3) The potato salad was solid. The Bad: 1) The chicken. Got a quarter. Just legit bad. Incredibly dry, skin was tasteless and absolutely no smoke flavor on the meat. Some of the worst smoked chicken I've ever eaten. Served cold. 2) The ribs. I've had better at Applebee's. Incredibly dry, quite tough and no smoke flavor at all. Only got a touch of pepper from the rub. Not good. Served cold. 3) Whole hog chopped pork. This was at least moist and tender, but again completely flavorless. No smoke, no fat, no seasoning. Just filled to put bbq on. Complete waste of a pig, also cold. 4) Corn bread and green beans. Both served cold, see a pattern here. Corn break was ok but being cold was weird, green beans were slimy and cold. Not a good restaurant at all, especially if you've ever had quality bbq in a place like Texas. I would not go back and urge you to avoid it if in Raleigh.

All of the food was excellent! The fried crackers and pimento cheese can't be missed. Wonderful open air seating and the staff are so friendly.

Pretty good BBQ. The 'new item' succotash was a chilled salad, wouldn't have ordered for a side if the menu had specified it wasn't a hot dish. The flies were pretty bad on the patio.

First bbq place in Raleigh that I have been too, the ribs were delicious and very well priced, had with a side of sweet potatoes that were the perfect blend of sweet and savory!

Best bbq I've had in the area! The pulled pork sandwich was fantastic along with all the sauce choices. I also tried the brisket which was very good but a bit dry. Would love to see them connect their main checkout system with the bar so you can order a drink at the same time as your meal. For now you'll need to make a second stop at the bar if you want one.

I have lived in North Carolina for most of my life and spent three years in Texas. When I say I have eaten my fair share of meats that require a smoker - I truly have. But it was last week at Longleaf Swine that I had the most delicious brisket of my entire life. We ate in silence. No one tried to make conversation. No one offered a bite of their food. Nope. We were hypnotized by brisket. I am going back tomorrow. Also, they made homemade apple cider. So freaking good!!!

Delicious! Food came out super quick. Fantastic customer service and vibrant atmosphere. A fun place to get bbq with friends and family.

I have been several times, and the food never disappoints. I especially love the pimento cheese dip.

Best BBQ in Raleigh, hands down. They source locally, which is very important to me I got the bbq sandwich and collard greens and my boyfriend got the smash burger and pimento Mac. The pork was perfectly cooked and the greens were as well. I only had a few bites of the Mac but it tasted wonderful, I loved the little crunchies on top. The sauces they have are really delicious. I typically just use a lot of vinegar on my plate but that Gold sauce *chefs kiss* I will be back to try the brisket and ribs for sure
