Peace Pies Raw Food Cafe - Ocean Beach

Google
This was my first time visiting Peace Pies, and it completely lived up to what I expected. The food was fresh, flavorful, and very filling — everything tasted thoughtfully made and full of life. The service truly stood out. Chaaya was our host and helped us choose the best food for us, taking the time to explain the menu and make great recommendations. She was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable, which made the whole experience even better. The atmosphere was relaxed and positive, and you can tell the staff genuinely cares about their food and their guests. I’ll definitely be coming back 🌱✨ 2nd time and this place keeps going with great flavors!

Google
This is an amazing restaurant for a vegan food. The restaurant is fully raw and is the only other raw place in the Southland. The only other one is in Los Angeles. Both locations in San Diego have a great atmosphere. The goodies at the register shelves and cooler cases are worth it alone. There is no other place you can get both kale chips and wonderful raw deserts like the twix bars and awesome cakes. The menu has wonderful dishes plus the specials listed at the register.

I love the food at Peace Pies! Whenever I’m in San Diego, it’s one of my go-to spots. On my last visit, I had the Rainbow Salad, which was packed with fresh, colorful vegetables and a delicious dressing. I topped it with some kale chips — perfection. We also shared the avocado toast, which was also very good. Highly recommend

Google
Peace Pies in Ocean Beach is a raw food paradise! I tried the raw lasagna, and it was absolutely delicious—layered with fresh, flavorful ingredients that made every bite a delight. I also had a durian smoothie, which was so creamy and unique, and I couldn’t leave without taking home a Butterfinger bar and a slice of lemon blueberry cheesecake. Both were to die for—rich, satisfying, and all guilt-free! Everything here is not only delicious but incredibly healthy, and it’s clear they put so much care into every dish. The vibe is laid-back and welcoming, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal or grab some goodies to go. If you’re into raw, vegan, or just great food, Peace Pies is a must-visit! I'll definitely be back for more!

Google
This place is amazing! A true raw vegan cafe that has ridiculously delicious food, friendly staff, and a chill a$$ vibe. A friend and I visited recently for a healthy wholesome meal. We tried a few of their menu items, and we were not disappointed. We started with the chips (cucumbers) and guacamole and avocado sunseed toast. Entrees: the bliss burger and the daily special carnitas (mushrooms) fajita burrito (coconut tortilla). Drinks: chocolate milkyway and horchata shakes. We left with a Twix bar and a hostess cupcake for dessert. Again, I was not disappointed at all. If you're in the OB/Point Loma area, I definitely recommend stopping in for some good eats.

Hidden gem with delicious wraps and outdoor seating Looking for a healthy and delicious meal after a long week? This place definitely hit the spot! It has a cozy indoor area and a beautiful outdoor seating option, which I highly recommend. Parking is available on the street nearby, and there are plenty of good food options in the area. Must-try dishes: * Mango curry wrap (the MVP! The sauce is amazing) * Luna tuna wrap (very good) * Peaceful pizza (unique but delicious) * Strawberry milkshake (very good) I loved the food so much that I ended up buying their recipe book! They have a variety of options to explore, so I'll definitely be back to try more.

Google
The food was AMAZING! They were super accommodating about other allergies I had and helped me find something I could eat. The people are so kind and again the food was great we had the quesadilla, the lasagna, and tiramisu (best I have ever had) as well as some samosas that were so good I could have eaten 10. Definitely stop by this place.

Google
If you’re looking for a unique and healthy dining experience, Peace Pies Raw Food Cafe is IT! Blink and you’ll miss it so watch for the rainbow sign out front. The cafe is tucked slightly back on Voltaire and is an absolute hidden gem. I tried the Cashew and Parmesan Kale Chips which were outstanding. Perfect crunch then they literally melt in your mouth. The sweet treats are fantastic as well. So many cool options that I need to come back to try more. What really sets this place apart is the vibe and the atmosphere. Theres a small Indoor seating area but do yourself a favor and opt for the “garden”, an outdoor oasis of growing passion fruit and tropical wonder. Will definitely be back for more! #rawfood #healthy #snacks #cafe #eclectic #special #oceanbeach #kale #avocado #handcrafted #garden

Yelp
So freaking good. Healthy, fun, inventive dishes that are so delicious. Today I got the mango curry wrap that came with kale chips. Love the plants and decor. The people are always happy to see you and explain anything on the menu.

Yelp
Love this place! Location can be difficult to park by. What I love about Peace Pies Staff: Super cool and look the part! Food: Delicious salads and everything I have had down to the deserts are pretty special, can make a meat eater fall in love with vegan cuisine! Seating is pretty special too, gardened well with small coves of tables and an indoor patio. Everything is fresh and made there. You can very easily purchase items to bring home like salad toppers, salad dressings, specialty drinks. Really a must go to place in the Ocean Beach/ Point Loma Area!

Yelp
Another beautiful afternoon eating delicious food from JP and his AMAZING and KIND staff. We love coming here. My hubby usually gets the buffalo falafel wrap and I am usually eating whatever creative special they have or the mushroom quesadilla. This weekends special was ON POINT. Grateful for this terrific eatery and its lovely staff that makes us feel like family.

Yelp
Loveeeeee this place and the kale salad is to die for!! I crave it all the time!!!!!!!!

Yelp
While scrolling delivery apps for something enticing, I decided to order Peace Pies as I was not feeling well and figured that raw, fresh food would be my best bet in getting better quickly. Though everything sounded delicious, I opted for the Bliss Burger, Karmic Kale Salad, and the Superhuman Green Smoothie. I was initially a little skeptical of how a raw burger would taste, but there are not even words to describe how insanely flavorful the sun dried tomato and walnut patty was. The homemade ketchup and onion bread really brought the burger together! I honestly would not have imagined this meal being as good as it was! The smoothie delicious and refreshing. While I initially planned on eating the salad later in the evening, the burger and smoothie actually kept me so full all day that I gave it to my neighbor to enjoy instead!

Yelp
Always a special place to dine. Your mind, body and soul will thank you. Service is always above and beyond. Eating on the garden patio is my fav. Always a fun special if you wanna change it up from the standard menu.

Glory B.

Yelp
I'm not vegan nor vegetarian, but the friend I'm with is. I ordered the Luna tuna wrap and a Samoa... it was much tastier than I expected! The Samoa was a bit too sweet, however. And the coconut wrap was hard to bite into because I have braces and my teeth are tender right now. Otherwise, good.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food, service, and atmosphere. Must have a dessert when you dine. Delicious food and try one of their snack containers. Definitely a unique and tasty dining experience.

Yelp
This is a cute little place in Ocean Beach. It was hard to find a parking spot but I was so glad I stopped in. It can be so hard to find yummy desserts that are vegan and gluten free. I got three different things. They were all amazing! I had to save some for the next two days!

Yelp
The drill here is order at the counter and your food will be brought out. Friendly service with good recommendations. I went with the Magical Mango Curry Wrap that comes with kale chips and a dressing. Help yourself to filtered water. I sat in the garden and loved the ambience with heaps of potted plants. I found the wrap flavorful and ample portions. The kale chips were very tasty. Well executed presentation. Peace Pies was named the 55th best restaurant in America by Yelp in a recent poll. Bonus points for having Dr. Bronner's soap in the bathroom. Definitely worth checking out in San Diego.

Yelp
First off, you want to eat here. Outside on the patio, to be specific. It's small but lush and is instantly relaxing being surrounded by all of the gorgeous plants, flowers, and delicious food. If I had one of those work remote with my face in a laptop kind of jobs you would most definitely find me here typing away as I eat a mystical mushroom quesadilla or a slice of cheezecake. Peace Pies is definitely on my list of top places to eat when I'm in San Diego. Every single time. I somehow always arrive ravenous and leave full and happy. I've worked my way around the menu but usually take advantage of the rotating specials as well. Service is always friendly and informative. They're used to questions, so don't hesitate to ask any. If there's one thing you take away from this review, let it be this: Kale Chips! Forget what you think you know of kale, because what Peace Pies is doing with it is next level. So many flavors to try and choose from and they are all terrific. Seriously, I like to buy them for people and not tell them it's kale just to watch them mow them down and try to eat more of mine. Great food, chill vibes. Five stars easy.

Yelp
The Mushroom Stroganoff was fantastic!! The Cosmic Coconut Cream pie was amazing! I did not leave one bite behind. I daresay if I had been alone at home. I may have licked the plate What can I say? Great ambiance on the patio. The service was fast and very friendly. The Mushroom Stroganoff had a very slight spice to it. Which was just enough, and tons of mushrooms, and these little onions that tasted like they had been marinated and they tasted almost like garlic, amazing, it reminded me of Fettuccine Alfredo. But I left without having that yucky. Alfredo, feeling in my stomach. I felt light from this food!

Yelp
Great food, folks and garden seating. First time, won't be the last, plan to share with many here and any visiting guests. Super satisfying and uplifting (not heavy). Small lil gem and a BIG blessing!

Yelp
My absolute favorite place in Ocean Beach!! I also love the Luecadia location. I would eat here EVERY SINGLE DAY if I could. The food is an absolute masterpiece. Not only is it presented beautifully, but the ingredients and quality of food are incredible. The desserts are out of this world. The chef really understands how to make healthy, nutritious food. Everything is raw. There are no toxic seed oils. No corn, soy, dairy, sugar or gluten. The setting is so charming and unique and there's a special warmth to the place. Peace pies is the true gem of San Diego.

Yelp
Peace Pies restaurant is so delicious. I'm looking to go back soon. I love really good plant-based food. This is my number one place now. The service was great. The people were kind and patient. Because the food looked so delicious, I did not know what to pick, so I chose two dishes. I chose the Mediterranean and the mango. Both were so delicious, one savory and one savory with a hint of sweetness from the mangoes. The ambience was peaceful, laid back, and beautiful. I felt like I was part of nature. There is outdoor seating and inside. The inside seating is connected to the outside with the doors open. It reminds me of Berkeley. Love this place. I highly recommend it. The kale chips are crispy and so delicious. Everything so yummy

Yelp
Keep in mind, this review is coming from someone who is not raw vegan - so that might skew this review. Maybe I even ordered the wrong things. There was a strong musty smell coming from the back room/ bathroom area. So I decided to ignore it and we sat on the beautiful green patio. Once I got my food, the kale chips tasted exactly like the musty smell. So I couldn't eat it. The wrap wasn't good to me either. My friend ordered the stroganoff and we shared, that was pretty good. Dessert was alright. I had just come from a vegan retreat in Miami and they served Jamaican plant based food that I really enjoyed so maybe my taste was skewed. The service was friendly and helpful, she answered all of our questions. It was just hard to get past the musty wet smell. Wrap was not my cup of tea, and the La

Live food restaurant with incredible desserts and salads and healthy vegan entrees. Nothing is cooked.

Yelp
Obsessed with this healthy vegan restaurant in ob! So many options for veggie packed and gf meals that are still super filling and flavorful! The magical mango wrap came with a tasty curry sauce and I loved the baked kale chips, with some tasty seasoning. Finished it all off with a berry cheesecake for a fabulous picnic meal

Yelp
Visited this gem last week for lunch. Ahh (exhale sound) So calming forcing you to slow down breathe in breathe out Listen to your body Connect your mind and soul Inhale... Exhale.. Slow down.. you are here.. Breathe This space commands you to do just that before stepping in. Before arriving. The name commands it as well. Peace. Everything in that kitchen is vegan. Reason number one to feel good, in case you were looking for one. I crave vegan from a place of gratitude to mother earth. The body gets what the body craves. I walked in and noticed their fridge with various juices, sweets, water, and other items. For food we had: - The Magical Mango Curry Wrap- avocado, mango & mixed veggies wrapped in a coconut tortilla. Served with coconut curry sauce. Pretty good. - Also tried the buffalo cauliflower wrap. Solid choice. Sprouted pea and lentil falafel, coconut buffalo sauce, cashew cheez, pickles, tomatoes, avocado on a coconut tortilla. Drinks: - Milkyway Mylkshake- banana & hemp base, strawberry. More smoothie less of a shake but yummy nonetheless. - Watermelon Juice with not too much pulp. A little on the tart side, not overly sweet. Perfect! What a fabulous place with fabulous food options. Check it out vegan or not. Your body will thank you.

Yelp
This place is so good!!! I tried both locations on my recent trip to san diego. I like the vibe here better but the food was phenomenal at both. The service was also great. And young man (I know didnt get his name) helped me out at counter. I have a couple of allergies and he was super thorough in helping me figure out my options which is always appreciated. The mango wrap was probably my favorite thing that I tried but the buffalo wrap was amazing as well!! For desserts, I tried a few things but the samoa and a blackberry white chocolate cheesecake?? They were phenomenal. And best part is how good I felt after this food. Oh and the kale chips were so surprisingly good. I'll definitely be returning next time Im in San diego county.

Yelp
Fabulous food and sweets. The nachos and quesadilla are delicious and all the sweets are so yummy.

Yelp
I absolutely love the friendly service, lush patio dining & fresh, delicious food at Peace Pies! Some of my favorites, top two: Mushroom Stroganoff, so indulgent with those perfectly salty-seasoned mushrooms with their silky-but-dense texture, mixed with the amazing-creamy cashew Alfredo sauce; secondly, the Luna Tuna Wrap, with the creamy & hearty mock tuna wrapped with plenty of fresh, crunchy alfalfa sprouts, shredded carrots & lettuce. Other favs: Majestic Mediterranean Wrap when I'm craving their filling & flavorful raw falafels mixed in with the sauces, and Loving Lasagna when I want to indulge in multi-layered fresh zukes smothered in 2-3 different sauces = heaven! I recently tried the Peaceful Pizza & Noble Nachos, so adding them to the list now, too. I've picked up their Mock Tuna Collard Wrap at People's, sooooo good and satisfying when I need a wholesome mini-meal on the go! Desserts: Their Fig Bar is super lush-delish! Apple Pie another winner -- oh, their Carrot Cake is to die for, definitely my favorite dessert. I own their Fresh, Funky & Raw Uncookbook, its full of gorgeous, glossy food photos & now I can make their Alfredo sauce to have at home! I will buy their other uncookbook I'm certain, I believe their Carrot Cake is in that one... Oh - I have to mention their amazing kale chips...?? They now come in so many flavors, I think the Original is my favorite but the Buffalo Spice ones are good when I want a little kick. Thank you for providing such good quality, innovative food that tastes out of this world!

Yelp
OMG SO GOOD I have not even made it through my meal and I am leaving this review. Holy moly this is delicious, I cannot believe I haven't been here yet while I live so close. I eat meat but I always still go veggie heavy. I did not know this place existed and now I will be there daily. So healthy but somehow sooooo tasty. It is so adorable, amazing ambiance with all the plants on the patio, staff was welcoming, dog friendly. I only got food to go but I am impressed. I do not leave reviews often but this place is worth it. Every. Single. Bite... Awesome. Good job, I hope you are successful. 100/100 from my point of view.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible!!!!!!!! I did the raw vegan thing a while back and I've always wanted to check out Peace Pies; I'm sooo thrilled I ended up visiting a buddy right nearby. I've eaten here twice now and would like to eat here every day for the rest of my life! I've tried the mango curry wrap, the pizza, a special bbq falafel wrap they had, a maca cacao dessert truffle thing, a "Twix", and a few of the kale chips (my favorite has been the honey mustard, so far, but they all rock!).
google avatar

Brenda B.

Yelp
My first time here and my experience was lovely! The food is so good it makes you just feel good! The desserts were amazing! I got the "butterfinger" which did kinda taste like it. I also got the "hostess cake" this one did not taste like it but it was good nonetheless. Inside and outside seating, the outside is better because it feels like paradise.
google avatar

Justin T.

Yelp
Parking was a bit of an issue, the place is small and tucked into a little alcove. The decor was well done, everything felt intimate and relaxed. The service was friendly and efficient, the seating, utensils, water, and such were self serve. Things felt intentional here. I ordered their Lasagna, and while it was not what I expected (it was more of a fresh and light dish rather than a savory and indulgent one) I can't deny that I really enjoyed it regardless. Prices were fair given how everything was organic, plant-based, and local produce from my understanding. Will likely be back!
google avatar

Anna C.

Yelp
Honestly the best of the best raw vegan/gf food! Great food, great staff, great ambiance and delicious raw desserts. Everything is good there but my ultimate favorite is their Mediterranean wrap w/ a chocolate mint shake and their poptarts. Go vegan!

Yelp
This og raw vegan cafe in OB is great. High vibe, raw foods served in fun recipes like lasagna, tuna wraps , pizza and falafels. Completely delicious. Let your body know what's good for it. You'll be feeling the magic all day. Durian milkshakes, and raw deserts that are better than the trad. #foodofthegods

Yelp
Oh, Peace Pies, how I've missed you! Used to go to the Encinitas location regularly before it burned down in 2019. I probably last went there about six months before the fire, so it's easily been four years! Arriving at the airport, decided Peace Pies OB would be our first stop. Got the standards: Mystical Mushroom Quesadilla and Magical Mango Curry Wrap, and they were amazing. I've had everything on the menu and those are my top two picks. The employees are always very nice but also very quirky. It has a hippie vibe that I love, down to the yoga frog statue. Nice selection of to-go items, T-shirts and the like. Heard that Encinitas location is slated to finally reopen this year, and can't wait to try that out!
google avatar

Ayesha A.

Yelp
Wow, I love the decor and food! The food we got was the following: -Mystical mushroom quesadilla $16: this made me speechless!!! Whatever they put in this quesadilla literally made my jaw drop. I'm sensitive with regular cheese, so I don't typically get quesadillas, but here is def a must-try! -Mediterranean wrap $15: my boyfriend got this and he loved it! Very different in taste. -OG kale chips $9: MUST HAVE! It comes with the dishes. I never had kale chips before, and this blew my mind. Tips: parking is scarce, but there is free residential parking in the area :)
google avatar

Why-Tie Z.

Yelp
The mushroom quesadilla is absolute bomb. The kale chips were disappointing but I would come back for the quesadilla! The cream inside with the mushroom was juicy, the quesadilla was flavorful with perfect texture. Bravo!
google avatar

Sarah R.

Yelp
What a magical little spot! Dropped in for the first time and we're so happy to have found it! Great food- we had wraps. Want to try dessert next time they have tons of options that look so good! The cutest little patio seating too!
google avatar

Peter O.

Yelp
Amazing raw veg food served by some cool OB people man! Absolutely loved everything on their menu from the quesadilla, pasta, and chips! Absolutely will go back when in the area!

Laney J.

Yelp
Amazing gluten and dairy free desserts! Dairy free cheesecake and cookies! Everything is raw and delicious. Also amazing kale chips :)
google avatar

Malia P.

Yelp
I don't know why this place isn't more popular. As a meat eater, this place is so good I didn't even miss the animal suffering. Try their coconut water, they sell it by the half gallon and tastes like a freshly cracked coconut. The food is great, flavorful and even though it's raw, vegan and gluten free I felt satisfied and not like I ate a lawn. Street parking only, there are two handicap spots in front.

Luci R.

Yelp
My second time ordering the mango wrap and it was just as delicious! The kale chips are fantastic too. This time we also tried the tangerine cheesecake which exceeded my expectations!

Yelp
Peace Pies is such a GEM of a restaurant in the San Diego vegan scene. With only a weekend stay, I had to make sure all my plotted points were s-tier and this cozy place really caught my heart. First off, I absolutely love the aesthetic and outdoor dining space. It felt like you were at a close friend's home just relaxing on a beautiful sunny day - lots of greenery and calming energy about the entire spot. If I was on my own with a book, I don't think I'd ever want to leave. They are an all raw-vegan restaurant, which is probably what a lot of people stereotypically think of plant-based eaters: "all you eat is salad, bro?" Well just by perusing the menu, you'll find that they are loaded with far more options than a simple salad. Whether you are vegan, a raw vegan, or someone that consumes meat, there is going to be something delicious here for everyone. I ordered the Loving Lasagna ($15) which uses zucchini lasagna noodles, homemade tomato sauce, and loaded with veggies. I also ordered the Mediterranean Falafel Plate ($11) to share with friends but was accidentally delivered the Bruschetta. When I told them that my order was incorrect, they happily came back out with the falafel plate, which was such a sweet gesture. They really do care about their customers so I am extremely appreciative of them for accommodating the miscommunication. Oh, and the bruschetta and falafel plates were both outstanding - especially their cilantro dipping sauce. The lasagna was indeed delicious - savory, sweet, and incredibly fresh with their cashew cheese. My friends each got a wrap - one curry and the other Caesar, and boy were they enormous and filled with flavor. Each came with a side of kale chips - for being 'raw,' how do they get it so crispy and delicious?! There are a lot of nutritional benefits and unique ways of preparing food without 'cooking' it in the traditional sense, so I'm so glad that places like Peace Pies exist where I can enjoy a wonderfully, filling meal based on another style of vegan eating. Thank you Peace Pies for existing and your amazing food. Limited street parking is available.

Yelp
These guys are the best! Many have tried to copy JP's recipes but they are never even close. I have been to raw restaurants all over the world and nothing compares to to Peace Pies. There is so much to choose from but the pop-tarts are a must. The kale dust is amazing and I use this to make my own salads and use it as a garnish. My favorites are the pad Thai crunch and the Nori wraps. Check them out in the pics.
google avatar

Leah G.

Yelp
I come here every time I find myself in San Diego. It is a haven for vegans, and everything on their menu is delicious and beautiful. I wish I had more pictures to share but I scarf everything immediately because their food absolutely slaps. I especially love their nachos. I hope someday we have more places like this in the country and I am so proud of these guys for setting such a kind example that food doesn't have to come from animals or their byproducts. The counter staff is always super kind and chill, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Shout out to you guys.

Aleasa R.

Yelp
Excellent vegan food! Probably the best in San Diego and not expensive! Casual comfortable setting and some of the best desserts ever! I usually break my juice fast and run to get one of their specials and Kale chips to go!!

Yelp
Their mushroom quesadilla, and Butterfinger cheesecake are phenomenal!!! Great little vegan spot for lunch or dinner

Yelp
How do I not have a review up yet?! I absolutely LOVE this place... I used to go to the Encinitas location before it ironically burnt down (I say 'ironic' because this brand is raw vegan...). I'm such a fan that I am now the proud owner of both of their recipe books (I gave one away last year, and my intention today was to get myself another copy.. lo and behold, they now have two books!) My go-to's when I do stop in are the quesadilla with added mushroom 'meat', the nachos, any dessert, and any of the pre-packaged/ grab-n-go treats. I will admit it's pricey- I've been known to guiltlessly drop more on myself here than I spend on my beloved 4-course filet mignon dinners. I find the food here to be worth every penny. Overall, I look forward to utilizing the books in my own kitchen, and I will continue to stop in to the restaurant for my "field research". Pros: - whole, real, raw vegan food - food presentation - ambience and decor - friendly Cons: - parking!!!

Yelp
Talk about a fun spot to bring your vegetarian and vegan friends. I've never had food like this before. Flavors were explorative and fun, services was nice and I must have come at an off time as it wasn't too busy at all. Enjoyed the mango wrap and the mushroom quesadilla and took some granola and sweet treats home. I am truly so sad I didn't get more sweets to go! I will definitely be back to try some other dishes.
google avatar

Katy B.

Yelp
Ordered the nachos through Uber eats. They were delicious! I did expect the entree to be hot Or the "meat" however it was served cold. It was fine and still great, I just wasn't expecting it that way.

Yelp
100% vegan friendly! I had their special Jalapeño Steak Quesadillas. I was surprised it filled me up. Their homemade tortilla was interesting. It's not like you can pick it up easily, the normal way. I made it work but messy LOL. I also ordered their pizza. Another interesting homemade dough. My family didn't like it but I love it. It was not like normal crust. However, they did enjoy their burrito wrap! I'll be back for sure. Thank you Peace Pies!

Yelp
Love this place. Ordered the raw lasagna (again!) and the Caesar salad- both beautiful, fresh, delicious. Highly recommend.

Yelp
The best vegan restaurant in San Diego! They treat you like family here and the food is coming from all natural sources. I always enjoy their desserts, their blueberry pop-tart is incredible. Their kale chips and pizzas are also a must!
