The 17 Best Restaurants In Burbank - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This bakery serves incredible Argentine-style empanadas from a walk-up window in the middle of Burbank. Picture thick, flaky pockets that come stuffed with everything from sausage gravy to Nutella and bananas. The tiny shop is open on weekdays fom 11am-5pm (until 7pm on weekends), making it a great quick lunch or somewhere to pick up a bag of perfectly golden treats when you want to surprise your coworkers. The spicy, smoky chile con carne is our favorite on the menu. Whichever version you get, ask for extra sides of their chimichurri sauce." - brant cox, sylvio martins

Best Dishes Eater Editors Ate This Week: January 16 | Eater LA

"When ordering from the walk-up window at the Burbank empanada factory, take note of the assembly line of workers lovingly putting together dough filled with spinach and cheese, chorizo, chicken pot pie, ham and cheese, and a fantastic marinara, mozzarella, cheese, and fresh basil empanada; though other sauces are available, just get the chimichurri for dipping." - Eater Staff

World Empanadas - Review - Burbank - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"This walk-up window bakery in the middle of Burbank is dishing out some of our favorite empanadas in LA. These are thick, flakey Argentine-style empanadas that come stuffed with everything from biscuits and gravy to Nutella and bananas. The tiny shop is open everyday from 11am-7pm, making it a great quick lunch option or when you want to surprise your team at work with a bag of perfectly golden treats. The spicy, smoky chile con carne is probably our favorite on the menu, but whichever you get, make sure to ask for several extra sides of their chimichurri sauce." - Brant Cox

Came here for the first time and it was okay. The employees were super nice and I received my order within the time they gave (about 6-8mins for 3 empanadas and soup). Parking on the street was limited when I arrived around 4pm but I found a spot not too far away. For the food: I ordered the beef, Santa Fe chicken, and biscuits and gravy empanadas. I also got the tortilla soup. I ended up paying over $20 with tip. The beef empanada was only half filled. The Santa Fe chicken empanada was pretty good. The biscuits and gravy empanada had way too much pepper and wasn't that good - I couldn't finish it. The dough was undercooked for all of them. The beef had raw gummy dough. The tortilla soup was a good vegan option but not sure I'll order it again. Overall, the empanadas could have been cooked longer but the pastry had good flavor. I'm not sure they were worth $5/ea but everything is expensive these days.

Google
World Empanadas in Burbank was a mixed experience for me. It took longer than expected to get just two empanadas, which was a bit frustrating. The outdoor seating area isn’t very enjoyable, it’s hot, with no shade, and feels like you’re sitting right next to the road with tons of cars constantly passing by. As for the food, the empanadas were okay, but honestly, I feel like they’re more hype than substance. That said, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, which I appreciated. Overall, not bad, but not sure I’d go out of my way to return.

Google
A fun little restaurant with a lot of interesting flavors that will make you want to try them all. Out of the 4 flavors I tried, the Chile con Carne was easily my favorite. It was spicy and delicious! The spinach and cheese and Santa Fe were very solid. The only disappointment was the sausage and biscuits, which I’m not sure was correct as it tasted like it had olives? Regardless, it wasn’t bad, but i won’t be ordering that one again. The pastry itself held up pretty well after being delivered. I also love the little logo on the pastry. I ordered 4 empanadas and that was just the right amount for me, as they quite small. I recommend going here if you like trying a variety of flavors and love a good pastry.

Google
World Empanadas excels even with to-go orders! I recently ordered takeout and was thoroughly impressed. The empanadas arrived hot and perfectly crispy, with each one packed full of fresh, flavorful ingredients. The attention to detail in packing ensured that nothing was compromised during transport. The variety of fillings is fantastic, offering something for every taste, from classic beef to savory chicken and vibrant vegetarian options. The staff was friendly and efficient, making the pickup process smooth and hassle-free. World Empanadas proves that their quality and commitment to excellence shine through, whether dining in or enjoying from home. Highly recommend!

Google
According to World Empanadas in Burbank, California, “good food takes time” and it’s definitely worth waiting for their made to order namesake empanadas AND fresh, homemade pasta. As a family owned and operated business since 2012, they have kept an extremely loyal clientele through their authentic Argentine-style empanadas with hints of global flavors. ✨Are you a sauce girly or boy?✨ You’re in luck: ask for their popular spicy, smoky chile con carne and chimichurri sauces🔥 Featured empanadas: 🥔Beef and Potatoes (seasoned ground beef, green olives, potatoes, bell peppers and spices), 🍳Breakfast (fresh scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, jack and cheddar cheese, and potatoes), 🌽Creamy Corn (sweet corn, cream parm sauce and simmer onions), 🌶️Spicy Potato (tender potatoes, fried onions, mozzarella cheese, cooked in a spicy salsa verde), 🇮🇳Samosa (potatoes, peas, onion, ginger, garlic and garam masala spices, mint chutney), 🍌Nutella and Bananas (creamy Nutella and bananas)

Google
BEST EMPANDAS so amazing delicious good quality great employees service everything so yummy and delicious and amazing chimichurri I’m so impressed. Was driving by and so glad I stopped in!

Google
Good, but could use a bit more flavor and the dough could be flakier. Tried the ham and cheese, spinach and 3 cheese (my fav) and the mixed berry. Love how they stamp the flavor initials on the edge!

Google
There's so much variety with this place! I wanted to get their $27 box of 6, but if you're ordering or GrubHub, that's not an option. Honestly though, you're probably better ordering at the window, because my GrubHub order was lost anyway, but not a big deal, only took 5 minutes to gather my order together. Oh, and their dessert Nutella + Banana Empanada was really good! Sorry! No pics!

Yelp
We ordered a dozen and chose Beef, chicken pot pie, Santa Fe chicken and Chile Con Carne. Loved how it came with the sauces. I'm not a spicy person at all and the Santa Fe chicken was my favorite. Took about 10 minutes and we waited in the tables in front. I didn't realized there was an inside with tables until someone walked in. We came home and everyone practically devoured it. Only 2 left in the box!

Yelp
Delish empanadas. I got the 6 pack. Beef, spicy potato, biscuits and gravy, pizza flavors. The best one was the potato one. Orders are made at the window and they take a few minutes to prepare fresh. The seating is on the sidewalk so it's great for a quick snack or to just take home.

Yelp
I was craving empanadas and found this place online that was nearby. Ordered the combo for about $13- which included: * 2 empanadas * 1 soup or salad * can of soda I tried the beef and spinach+cheese empanadas. Both were good, my favorite was spinach & cheese- creamy and flavorful. I tried the lentil soup, not bad but not my favorite and will pass next time and stick to just empanadas. Go give them a try

Yelp
Was in the area for an event so did a quick search and immediately wanted to try this place - and so glad I did! It was about 10 a.m. (Saturday) and one group ahead of me when I got there. It's outdoors only now. I asked when ordering if the inside was open because of pictures on here showing an inside area; they said they've never reopened the inside since COVID times. Both employees I interacted with were very friendly. They have 3 tables with 4 chairs each outside, so I guess don't come when it's busy if you intend to stay and eat onsite. I got the $13.95 combo meal deal that comes with 2 empanadas, a side and a drink. Side options were: tortilla soup, lentil soup, or a standard salad. It was breakfast time so I got the Biscuits & Gravy and the Breakfast (eggs, bacon) empanadas. Both were excellent - the B&G is not traditional but very tasty with the spices they use. The tortilla soup was excellent as well. I would definitely recommend this place for the food, but not for the ambience. Sitting along the sidewalk of a very busy street is not ideal for eating. Hopefully they'll reopen the inside seating area someday.

Yelp
Amazing empanadas quit a selection from meats to vegans I had Beef. Chili con carne and Nutella with bananas . You got to watch the last one you will bit in to a Nutella oozing out of the shell. The Chili con carne had just the right amount of spice. The restaurant is ultra clean and the service was spot on. You can eat outside or pick up to go

Yelp
I saw on a Yelp friend review this place and I wanted to try it. The place is small and I only saw the windows to order and pick up. So I ordered on line and when I got there my order was ready. I really recommend them. They have different flavors, they even have some sweet ones. I ordered 3 of mushrooms and two of the Garbanzo ones. I also ordered some pepperoni and some cheese. They were so warm, flaky, tasty, and delicious. The mushrooms flavor had enough stuffing and the crust very soft and flaky. Any flavor you get they are pretty good. I am just sad that I am so far away from them I don't get to taste them often. I highly recommend this place. They had couple of tables at the street to eat buy mainly this place is to pick up.

Yelp
These warm pockets of sunshine are my go to for a quick bite to eat on the go! Hands down the best empanadas I've had in a long time! Highly recommend getting some for the road if you're in the area! They also have flavorful dips to pair with your empanadas :) My favorite is the chimichurri!l

Yelp
one of the best empanadas i have ever had!!!! bomb bomb bomb empanadas everrrrr! it was my first time here and i will most definitely be coming back as a regular at every bite i took these empanadas melted into my soul!!! ahaha i was one happy gal eating these yummy empanadas. i got myself the Chile Con Carne Empanada, Beef Empanada, and Ham Cheese Empanada. the empanadas were so packed inside, it was fulfilling! I've never had a ham and cheese empanada before and it absolutely hit the spot in the morning! they gave me 3 sauces i can use as dipping sauce and mhm all three were so good! i like that they have outdoor seating as well as street parking in the front. the service was quick. the people working the day i went were really nice. 10/10 best spot in Burbank!!
google avatar

Danna K.

Yelp
the bean and cheese was good, the margarita was good. problem was that i ordered 15 minutes ahead of time, and when i came in, nobody asked who i was, of if i already ordered, and i just sat there for another 20 minutes (since I was advised to order in advance because it can take super long). again, nobody asked for that long anything. when everyone around me already left after eating, I asked and saw they grabbed it from their "already ready" area. nobody called my name. i just sat there hungry waiting when it at some point was ready to go. so bad communication all around which was very annoying. otherwise, one should know there is no inside seating. its 2 tables out front on the sidewalk and 2 in the back "patio" which is more like a 10x20 shade structure. on a hot day, not recommended.

Yelp
Cute location, friendly service, good price, good empanadas! I was driving around for a quick bite because I had 15 minutes to burn, and this came up in my Apple Maps search. There was some street parking in the front, and not too crowded. You order at the window, and the menus are directly above the order window. I asked the worker about the most popular empanadas, and he said the beef and the spinach/cheese. I went with beef and a breakfast empanada. I love how they engrave the name of the restaurant into the empanada crust (photo attached). They are cooked to order, and take about 5-8 minutes. For the beef empanada, I feel like it was pretty good! I just wish it had more flavor. It felt like something was missing. Slightly bland. I really liked the breakfast empanada. The salsa really set both off them off :) Make sure to get a side of salsa! I feel like I'd come back to try other empanadas!

Yelp
Had a solo brunch here while in the neighborhood. The cashier was nice and helpful but I knew what empanadas II wanted immediately after reviewing the menu. All 4 were very good, not heavy, light flaky crust. The photo and cheese was the most spicy and dense, chili con carne has great flavor, the pot pie most surprisingly good and my favorite was the santa fe. There are 3 sauces available in hot, medium and mild, I enjoyed each, mixing and matching flavors. Order and pick up at the window. There are tables and chairs in front and back with a kiosk to place your order on screen.

BV M.

Yelp
Got a 6 pack of take home empanadas. Got zero sauce nor did I get offered any. It was my first time so didn't realize till I got home that I was missing something while eating them. They were ok. With sauce I'm sure they would have been better. Chicken pot pie doesn't taste like traditional chicken pit pie. It's ok. Crust is flakey though.

Yelp
I have been here a few times but somehow never wrote a review. The best empanadas in town for sure. It's always fresh, flavorful and delicious. Variety of fillings. They also sell burritos and some other items. I come for the empanadas. A quick lunch today. One with asada and one with chicken. They offer catering and boxes to go. Or you can get it a la carte. Customer service is friendly. Some outdoor seating available. Mostly people get it to go.

Yelp
DELICIOUS!! I have never had an empanada before--I know, sad. What a way to enter into this new world. Family owned and incredibly friendly, the brothers are taking the orders and working the kitchen. As a veggie, I thought empanadas were a meat thing--but the spinach empanada made me a convert. What a great place to pop by after picking up visitors from the airport or even to take home and bake for easy, delicious dinner (it's an option they offer!). This cute little place is the epitome of Burbank creativity and family friendly deliciousness. What a gem. All that, and your dog can eat with you....

Beth M.

Yelp
I'm rating so highly because of the food. I love these empanadas. I'm vegetarian and they have amazing options. I would absolutely recommend. I've tried other empanadas in LA and they don't compare!

Yelp
Came her on a friend's recommendation. Check in on Yelp and get a free Hibiscus tea, which turned out to be really good. Ordered the beef, chili con carne, spinach and 3 cheese, ham and cheese, and Nutella and banana. The Nutella and banana were so good, especially warm and gooey. Ham and cheese was a hit for my kid, and I loved the spinach and cheese empanada. Went well with the chinchurri sauce that came with it. To place an order, you walk up to the window and order. Then you wait for your order to be called. It wasn't too busy when I arrived around 1215. By 1240, there was a small crowd. The empanadas are made fresh, so it takes about 10 minutes, especially when there are a lot of people at once. There are 2 tables out front, and the street is kinda busy at times. Food was delicious, would come back again.

Yelp
Little savory pastries (a couple sweet options) stuffed full of the best things, what's not to love? My absolute favorites are the spinach artichoke, cheesy potato, and Nutella. What's really helpful and a cute touch, is how they imprint on the pastry dough what the filling is inside so you'll never have to guess which is which. The people are very friendly and there are a few tables outside along the street if you want to take a seat.

Yelp
TLDR: we like the empanadas, but the service is lacking. It's not the first time our order was incorrect, so we won't be back for a while. A few weeks ago, we had a poor experience and there was little effort to make it right. I emailed the following: " We're frustrated with our experience today. My wife placed order 3893573 at 1:59p and the order was ready when I arrived to pickup at 2:20 (older man at the window). However, when I get back home we realize 3 out of 4 empanadas were incorrect, and I return to the restaurant to explain the situation. A young woman doesn't say much other than "ok I'll remake them" before closing the window. She finally hands me the order at 2:48p. I didn't expect much, but perhaps an appology? Or perhaps she could have offered the incorrect order she threw away? We spent nearly an hour waiting for our food, so we likely won't be coming back for a while (we're been coming since the restaurant was on Victory)" I received the following response: "Thank you for reaching out and for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. I'm very sorry to hear about the issues with your order and the service you received, it's certainly not the level of care or attention we aim to provide, especially to long-time customers like you and your wife. It's frustrating enough to receive an incorrect order, and we understand how disappointing it must have been to return to the restaurant only to feel that your concerns weren't properly acknowledged or addressed. A simple apology or a more thoughtful response would have gone a long way, and I apologize that you didn't receive that courtesy. We truly appreciate your continued support since the days on Victory, and it's disheartening to hear that this experience may keep you from returning. Please know we take feedback like this seriously, and we're addressing this with our team to ensure better communication and service moving forward. Thanks again for bringing this to our attention, and I hope we can restore your trust in us."

Yelp
I've been coming here since 2015, back when the empanadas were always excellent. Now it is just gambling whether I will get a good empanada or not. Yesterday I ordered 6, 2 of which were fresh perfect empanadas, and 4 were stale from the day before, or something was wrong with them. In the past couple years every time I have ordered it's been a gamble, sometimes receiving good empanadas, sometimes stale, and sometimes a mix of the two types. If the quality was consistent I would eat here regularly but I don't want to gamble anymore. The good empanadas are flaky and soft, but the stale ones the dough is rock hard and the filling tastes old. If the consistency issue was solved, I would rate 5 stars and eat here, but I won't pay nearly 40 dollars for 6 empanadas to get 2 great ones, and 4 inedible ones.

Yelp
The rave reviews are right and so many options to indulge in! We came here on Mother's Day 2024. Empanadas: 5/5 I love that they mark your empanada so you don't confuse them. It is on the the left side with the initials of your choice. We decided on a half dozen we got some spinach and cheese, caprese, breakfast, ham and cheese and a chorizo one. We didn't try the sweet ones but they do have that option. The empanadas were nice and plump and full of flavor and cheesy. They don't skip on the filing plus the flavors all seemed to taste good together. The dough was delicious and they were baked to perfection not being to hard or soft just the right amount of crunch around the edges. Those empanadas did not stand a chance! Service: 5/5 Service was great and the young guy who tended us was very friendly and answered some of our questions. We placed our order and waited about 5 minutes before our delicious empanadas came out. You can also place your oder on line just in case you want to just pick them. up Ambiance: This place is not a sit down spot even though they have a couple of those outdoor chair with umbrella sets if you want to enjoy your delicious empanada before you head out. So no real ambiance unless you bring some company with you. Parking: 5/5 plenty of street parking in front this joint so that wasn't a problem. Without a doubt give this place a try!

Yelp
Unfortunately I was lured in from a TikTok video. I called right at 9 am, as soon as they opened. I ordered a breakfast burrito with both sausage and bacon. It took around 18 minutes for the burrito to be done. A little longer than anticipated. Especially first thing in the morning On their TikTok they had a video making the breakfast burrito and they started off making these potatoes that were seasoned up really well. However when I got my burrito, those potatoes were DEFINITELY MISSING. I didn't get anything even close to that. I posted a pic of the burrito I received. Compare to their social media. Definitely a big difference. Not to mention it was a little on the smaller side And the bacon and sausage were chopped up very tiny so it was a little hard to tell what everything was while you were eating. My last big gripe is that the burrito was baked and it made the tortilla a little hard in some places. It was edible but not worth 4 or 5 stars. The salsas were good that they provided. But the burrito didn't stand out at all. And I also feel like they put way more love into making their videos than they do actually making the burritos.

Yelp
The service from the male cashier was unfriendly but his female partner today was so kind and pleasant that it made up for his lack of customer service. Love the food.

Yelp
first time was cool, will be back to try more things. We called ahead to place and order and after seeing the line, def recommend you do the same. Customer service was great! Nice lil sidewalk patio with two tables, but otherwise there isn't any seating. We ordered: Biscuits & Gravy- fuego! Really nice flavors Chicken Pot Pie- meh, can skip it. Miss with seasonings and texture Mushroom & Cashew Cheese: delicious! esp if you're a fan of cashew cheese Quinoa & Lentil: okay, one note and super lentil-y Vegetable Soup: friend did not enjoy this at all If you check in on Yelp you get a free Hibiscus tea which was lovely and not overly sweet. Will be back to try more and happy that they have so many vegan and veggie options

Yelp
The empanadas are delicious, a great size and value. Crispy on the outside and nice and warm on the inside. They have many options from meat to vegetarian and vegan. The personnel was very friendly providing us with plenty of condiments. The outside area was comfortable to eat at, in front of the street but most people take their empanadas to go.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious empanadas and breakfast burritos that are always hot and fresh I'm so happy they brought back their breakfast burritos after Covid. They are amazing! Comes with a beautiful crema on the side but don't skip on the salsa verde! Not too spicy so don't be alarmed. (Chimichurri is great too) As for the empanadas, you can't go wrong! My favorites are the biscuits & gravy and the ham & cheese. Be aware that These aren't empanadas that have olives in them. If you are like me and don't love olives then you'll be in heaven. This is a small restaurant with only a few tables on the sidewalk. Good for a quick bite or take home. I've only ordered online but the pickup staff is very friendly. Overall would recommend and visit often. Thanks world emp!

Yelp
I went here because the person I went with is vegan and said they had some good vegan options. I forgot to take pic but I got the meal ( 2 empanadas a side and a drink I got the hibiscus tea for a dollar more) I got the soy chorizo and pepperoni and cheese empanadas. Also the tortilla soup. It was all good. Oddly enough I liked the vegan one a lot better than the pepperoni. We ordered at the window and sat outside. It was a good meal. I would return to try different kinds.

Yelp
soooooo good. loved the variety. definitely recommend the 6 piece combo with drinks. the jamaica (hibiscus) juice was really yummy.

Yelp
Only few tables outside to sit and eat. Order from the outside windows. There were quite a lot of options from meat to vegetarian and even dessert empanadas. There is also breakfast burritos available till 2:00pm every day. The chimichurri sauce was very balanced with a little bit of tang to it. I enjoy combining it with the spicy salsa. The fillings of the chicken pot pie, spicy potato and Santa fe chicken were perfect and not dry. The flaky exterior of the empanada was perfectly light and crispy and the ratio of meat to dough was spot on. They also have vegan options and a couple pasta cups available.

Yelp
I love "World Empanadas". The staff is amazing. Always serve with a smile. Very much appreciated. Every time I go into the valley, I make a point to stop at my favorite spots. This is one of them. Their flavors are the best. My favorite one is the ground beef with the olive in the middle. The spinach is my second favorite. Today, I am trying the spicy potato, mixed berries and soy chorizo. Can't wait to try them. I am sure they will become my favorite too. I wish there was one in Valencia or maybe not. Gives me a reason to travel outside of my city. Until next time. Have a great week!

Yelp
My sister, daughter, and I enjoyed a lunch here yesterday. My sister and I each got a lunch special which came with 2 empanadas, a side (we got salad), and a drink (we got hibiscus tea which was a $1 up charge.) We got: - Chicken pot pie - it had good flavor, but didn't taste like pot pie to me. It wasn't bad though. - Biscuits and gravy - my sister liked it. I didn't have that one - Southwestern chicken (I forgot the name but it was something like that - This was tasty with a little but of spice. The salad was just spinach and shredded carrots. Fortunately the house made dressing was good. It has a unique flavor, it was tangy with a little sweetness. I just wish the salad had a little more too it, especially since I'm not a huge raw spinach fan. But my daughter who barely eats salad are multiple bites, so that was a win. The chimmichuri was different than what I've had in the past. It was watery and more red than what I've had in the past. But it was still good. The hibiscus tea was delicious. I don't like super sweet tea, so I asked for a cup of water to go with it, just in case. But it wasn't totally necessary. The Jamaica had the right combination of spices and flavors that I really enjoyed. I did end up using the water since I'm more of an unsweetened tea fan though. I'd like to go back and try some other flavors. Parking was easy at the time of day that we went. We just parked up the street, there are no meters.

Yelp
It was my first time in Burbank and I was in the area. I saw everybody recommending this place on reddit so I thought I had to try. It was an amazing experience. I love seeing the people come and go trying the empanadas. They are really quick and they even have their own app to order if you want to be ahead. They have a large variety of empanadas and I love the sauces that they have to accompany it. Such a warm and comforting food. There is only outside seating but they are really well kept.

Yelp
We've passed by this place so many times and finally decided to stop by. We ordered the spicy potato, pepperoni, and the spinach and cheese and wow they are delicious! They're so fresh and they come with a good amount of filling. We will definitely be back for more! Also the employee who helped us was very friendly and offered us suggestions to try.

Yelp
With flakey crust and almost sinful aromas, this place was a lucky find on an otherwise peaceful weekend. The combo I ordered came with a mojito lemonade that left me feeling refreshed with every sip. Ive very much discovered a new delight in each bite and will be eager to return soon.

Yelp
BEST EMPANADAS IN LA PERIOD --- family-owned by the sweetest, kindest people -- and the vegan options are delicious. Mushroom cashew is my absolute favorite.

Yelp
When this first began, you were able to walk in and get your empanadas quickly. It's evolved with a new menu of burritos, samosas, and vegetarian options. Love the new menu but don't like that everyone hangs out front. They should just get a new venue since they have evolved and people love them! I also remember when you could get two empanadas and a drink for under $10. I really wish they would get a bigger venue so we could sit and eat our empanadas warm. I don't like outside seating with the cars passing by. Happy for their success just don't like the prices. $50.00 for a dozen. $5 each plus tax. Food is great!

Yelp
The patio section at World Empanadas in burbank is very limited only 3 tables which has customers taking your seat when you get up to get your meal at the window someone will rudely take you seat without even asking you. This world Empanadas attracts just low class and No class types of customers that have zero manners Multiple customers are talking on their cell phones with the cell phone speaker turned on which is extremely loud in the patio section its a horrible atmosphere to be getting your lunch The Empanadas were subpar and I would never go back to this World Empanadas in burbank Have fun eating your lunch in the patio section listening to multiple customers talking loudly with their cell phones speakers turned on at world empanadas in burbank

Yelp
Yummy yum yum!! This place was so fast and so tasty. I tried all of the meat empanadas and a dulce one. I highly recommend the beef! Can't wait to go back and try their veggie options and handmade pasta bowls!

Yelp
Really good empanadas. I got the meal deal they have with 2 empanadas + a side + a drink it all came out to about $15. The service is ok it's a walk up window and they have some outside seating available. I got the southwest chicken empanada and a spicy potato both were delicious. I just got a simple side salad but my friend got the lentil soup and it looked really yummy. I'd recommend checking this spot out if you want some food empanadas and they have a good variety with even vegan and vegetarian options.

Yelp
The absolute best. Made fresh. Comes out hot and ready. May have a bit of a wait time due to it being made to order.

Yelp
Driving back to LA from Sequoia and needed a lunch break. Stopped by here on a Sunday afternoon. PARKING - street parking. So be prepared for some parallel parking Restaurant front is street-side. You order from the street side and have the option to walk around the order to the back patio. That is what we ended up doing because we had our dog. FOOD - empanadas were yummy! The options were unique and I was hungry, so wanted to order one of each (but obviously didn't). Because each of our empanadas were different, I wish they somehow differentiated each one. We ended up taking a bite of each to figure out which is which and how to distribute. Also for the side, I'd go with the tortilla soup (although it was hot), over the side salad. Side salad was just salad mix with a vinaigrette. Their sauces were pretty good too. They offer salsa, salsa verde, chimichurri. It's also nice that they offer vegetarian and vegan options. PRICE - a little on the pricey side. A la carte per empanada is like $4.40 each. Combo of 2 empanadas, side, and drink is $12. SERVICE - the workers here are all very friendly and helpful. Made sure to tell us to ask questions if we had any, good vibes from each of them, and when bringing to the back patio to give our food, was conversational with us and our dog. AMBIANCE - Seemed like they had a decent line of people who were ordering or waiting to pick up a curbside order. Their back patio came in clutch since we wanted to eat outside our car since we were in the middle of a road trip. Overall, if I see myself again in the area, I'd be back to try the other empanada options.

Yelp
Quick lunch at World Empanadas. Huge fan of empanadas so had to stop by for lunch. I had driven by numerous times pondering. I found the empanadas filled very nicely. Based on reviews from Google and Yelp and selected the biscuits and gravy and Santa Fe chicken empanadas. Both were excellent choices! Seating was not ideal but there is some in the back patio. Overall a place worth revisiting.

Yelp
World Empanadas serves up hand sized empanadas that are nicely filled with meat and wrapped well in a toasted yet tender empanada. You order at the window and will need to wait about 8 minutes or so. There are two tables outside if you're looking for some seating. The chile con carne had a flavorful, moist meat alongside some beans. While prices have increased over years to $5 each it's still a good amount of quality food that's filling for the price.

Yelp
They have vegan and vegetarian options so that's a plus! They only have a pick-up window so it is all to go orders. I have passed by here so many times, but I finally tried it out. Creamy corn was HOTT when I bit into it, but so good. I enjoyed the chicken one as well. I had the spinach/feta and I think I was thinking of this filling in a dessert form when there's more feta than spinach so when I bit into it I was surprised. All of it was piping hot and fresh. I would absolutely come back again.

Yelp
Their flavorful empanadas are the best I've ever had. I love the addicting Spinach and cheese and the Mushroom and cashew Cheese--both are rich, savory, and absolutely satisfying. Oh, and the hibiscus drink--super refreshing. If you desire dessert, please get the mango empanada..You must support this small restaurant, which has been open for over 13 years and 10 years at this particular location. I am obsessed!!!!!

Yelp
Second time here but this place is second to none. Good food, service, and a sidewalk seat right on glorious Magnolia Blvd. we love it! Been back a few more times and still love it. The owner's a nice guy, too.

Yelp
We were very excited to try these empanadas. I love the thoughtful variety of flavors like savory meat and Vegan as well as dessert options. The service is great and you can tell they care about their food. My issue is with the dough to filling ratio. I found too much breading which made each empanada heavier than I'm used to in my empanadas. Bonus is if you're in a hurry to feel full, their empanadas will do the trick. I don't like feeling heavy after. I also found the dough for the dessert empanada very heavy and not sweet. A big carbo with sweetness experience. The presentation of the food is charming however.

Yelp
It's takeout only through 2 windows, and you'll have to wait for 10-20 minutes. However, their empanadas are really delicious and have interesting varieties. They're light and flavorful.
