The 16 Best Pizza Spots In Dallas - Dallas - The Infatuation

"Two wood-burning ovens anchor the open kitchen at this airy, indoor-outdoor Lower Greenville restaurant. The best vantage point is at the pizza bar, where you can watch dough and toppings turn into red and white Neapolitan pies with charred, chewy crusts. The Peppe is an all-hits combo of Italian tomatoes and cheese, roasted peppers, and spicy Calabrian salami that will make you reach for another cooling sip of Peroni. If you’re in a white pie mood, try the Contadina, a savory, herby mix of rosemary potatoes, pancetta, basil, and an optional fried egg (get the egg). Throw in a bottle of food-friendly Corvina and some hearty meatballs, and embrace the urge to talk—and eat—with your hands." - kevin gray

Went the with friends who are Italian and they were the one who recommended this place as the most authentic Italian restaurant. The servers were great. Got seated pretty quickly for lunch right as they opened. Plenty of seats inside and out although outside might be hot in the summer month. We ordered some pizzas, some appetizers, some rosette and tiramisu dessert. You can definitely taste the freshness of the ingredients and the crust weren’t thick like a Chicago style. The pizzas were cooked in a pizza oven and the cross was crispy on the outside, chewy on inside. Definitely a place I would go back to for an authentic Italian meal.

Google
Great spot to have a refreshing salad and wine. Of course you can order their pizza but I don’t have a review on that. Atmosphere is vibrant though quite loud. Could be because of the acoustic design of the restaurant. The restaurant has a private room where you can host parties. Very spacious. And they also have a bar to dine at and outdoor seating.

Google
Heard good things about this place and I did not disappoint. We got the caprese salad as a starter. We shared one white and one red pizza. Finished off with a tiramisu. We sat at the pizza bar. It was fun watching the chefs make the pizza. Service was quick despite being busy. Would come back!

Google
Good varieties pizza with good service and nice ambiance. For the prize, we expected larger portions. Their tiramisu is one of the best and pesto sauce was really fresh and tasty.

Google
Pizzeria Testa is easily one of the best spots for authentic, flavorful pizza. The crust is perfectly light and fresh, with just the right balance of chew and crispness, and every topping tastes like it was picked that day. Their bruschetta is out of this world—bursting with flavor and easily the best I’ve had anywhere. For an extra kick, ask for their spicy oil, it takes the pizza experience to another level. Everything here is packed with flavor and you can tell a lot of love goes into the food.

Google
Their Margarita S.T.G pizza is so delicious. This tiramisu is heavenly — so creamy, so soft, it just melts in your mouth! Excellent service! Paul stood out with his polite nature— truly appreciated.

Google
One of the authentic Italian restaurants in town. We had a really nice time dining here. The tiramisu was delicious. The pizza was too good. The restaurant is huge and they also have outdoor seating. They also have a bar. The atmosphere can get a bit noisy sometimes. They customize the orders according to our choices

Google
It's a nice place inside but super pricy. We didn't realize that when we ordered two Italian Sodas and a 6 sliced pizza w/sausage added, our total would be almost $40. We were charged $4 extra just from adding 1 toping to our pizza. Our Italian Sodas were super yummy but those were $6 each. (We should've just got water instead) We let the waitress know it was out first time there and she didn't really mention anything to us. She even kept asking us if we wanted more toppings added (without telling us there's an upcharge), and I'm so glad we said no. Had I known they were going to charge us $4 extra just for a few pieces of sausage, I wouldn't have added it. Also, the pizza was super dry. I understand this place makes pizza like Italy does, but there was hardly any sauce and the little we got was watery. The taste was alright. Felt like we were eating dried pizza crust more than anything. We didn't hate it, BUT we definitely didn't love it and we won't be back.

Yelp
The best pizza in the area hands down! You can even fight me on that! Ambiance is nice, welcoming and great service. Don't sleep on the contadina, you're welcome!

Yelp
In the mood for traditional, artesian flatbreads? You've found the spot!... In the mood for pizza? Go somewhere else... this is the home for over priced, over hyped Za... however it is the place for uppity, snooty cuisine to brag to your coworkers about when asked "what did you guys do for dinner?"... in terms of good pizza, this place falls as flat as their flatbreads... Zero strength in their "chassis", Zero cheese pull, crust was blah... a far cry from Detroit, Chicago, NY or even the Bay Area... If you're a pizza lover, stay clear... if you love flatbreads, you've found your home. Service was great, and the establishment was clean, well organized and ran efficiently...

Yelp
Ah, Pizzeria Testa--finally, a place that understands pizza isn't just food, it's a spiritual experience wrapped in mozzarella and poor life choices. One bite of that wood-fired Neapolitan pie and I was transported straight to Naples--minus the passport, jet lag, and existential dread of international travel. The crust? Thin, crisp, and just charred enough to let you know it's been through some stuff--like it paid taxes and still got audited. The sauce was so fresh I half-expected it to ask me how my day was going. And the cheese? Let's just say I now understand why people write love songs about dairy. Staff was friendlier than a grandma on bingo night, and the whole vibe screamed we take our carbs seriously here. I walked in hungry and walked out full, happy, and already plotting my return like a low-key pizza stalker. 5 stars. Would sell minor personal belongings for another slice.

Yelp
If this place had ranch it would be better than dominoes. I love the bartender. He is so handsome. There's a fine line between good pizza and great pizza, Pizzeria Testa makes it obvious. If Tony Romo was a Pizza, he'd be the Primavera. White, savory, and always on point. The handsome bartender keeps me coming back. I've probably spent over $5k at this place, but no regerts. Will keep coming back.

Yelp
First timer here but will definitely become a regular. The pizza here is so delightful, thin, full of flavor and perfect portion as an individual pizza or to share with others. I like my pizza on the crisper side which I initially asked for but shy'd away after our waitress said it may come out on the burnt side. Next time I'm going to ask them to the pizza in the oven for a few more minutes. I really enjoyed the San Marzano sauce. Prices are a bit on the higher side but definitely worth it. Ambiance is low key, not too noisy, great place. Only down fall was window sills were a bit dirty so there were so many flys in our area. Service was 6/10, didn't see our server much. Overall 8/10.
google avatar

E D.

Yelp
The pizza was dry & tasteless! When I cane in to pick up my order, the staff were hanging around the hostess area just chatting away like they were just hanging with friends and not at work!

Sean A.

Yelp
I don't write reviews often...only when I'm blown away by the food, service or atmosphere. Tonight, all three were hit out of the park. If you venture to the FC Dallas / Toyota Stadium, you must stop in and give this restaurant a shot! Sit at the bar. Ask for Lyric. Order your food and let Lyric (bartender, server, master of all) make you a drink. If you're lucky, Riley, may stop by to help prep the outgoing drinks. Stay for a bit. Enjoy the atmosphere. I promise, you'll be back. I know we will.

Yelp
Came to Pizzeria Testa to celebrate a friend's birthday! Before this, I had only been to the Lower Greenville location, so I was excited to check this one out. The space is very clean, and a lot more warm with the brown tones spread throughout the restaurant. We were seated at a 4-person high top table, and though the table space was a little small, it worked for just two of us. Service was amazing, our server was so sweet, accommodating, and really added to our experience. I got a cocktail and it was pretty strong - definitely a sipper. We ordered the focaccia and olives - and to my surprise, it was not focaccia. I am not sure why it was labeled as such on the menu, but it was more of pita-bread slices of something else. This was also very chewy and at times, difficult to pull apart. I ordered a calzone and swapped the meat for garlic and mushrooms. This was great, and HUGE! I had lunch the following day. My friend ordered a marg pizza and enjoyed it. We were offered a free dessert to celebrate her birthday, which was so yum and much appreciated. We went with the tiramisu! Overall, this was a pretty positive experience (minus the ambiguous focaccia-not-focaccia), and I would return!

Yelp
Testa Rossa Not a great pic of a phenomenal pizza! Spicy and flavorful with such fresh tomatoes and Basil, I love it. Obsessed with this place!

Yelp
We've been eating here for almost 11 years now. For those who aren't familiar, it's not some low-brow American pizza place (no offense). It's a rustic, lovely Neapolitan restaurant with amazing Italian wine, Italian spin on cocktails, and the best Italian style pizzas in North Texas. By far, my favorite restaurant atmosphere in Frisco. And a great weekday lunch combo as well! Staff there is incredible (starting with E, stands for Excellent, the longtime manager.) Even the tall food-runner kid with glasses ;-)
google avatar

Yelp
We started going to Testa in Dallas and were so sad when we moved away because we didnt realize there was a second location. When we came across the Frisco location, we were so excited! We LOOOVE this place! Id never eat pizza anywhere else. The service is always fantastic. The atmosphere is always very family oriented and relaxed. It's a great place to enjoy some wine and let the kids run in court yard behind the building. There is also outside seating to watch the kids play.

Yelp
So good! Went for lunch on a Friday with a large group and got the lunch special (smaller sized pizza & side salad), it was delicious. Looking forward to going again and trying more!
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
Great pizza and service! We all ordered different pizzas for lunch and none disappointed. We also ordered the bread which was fabulous too!
google avatar

Nilsa A.

Yelp
Went to lunch to try it out with my grandson, while at Frisco Sq. Very nice place and friendly staff. Ver spacious and nicely decorated, an Italian feel. Food was ok. Pizza selection was not very appealing. There are no kids menus, cheese pizza was mainly sauce with pieces if cheese. Asked for a side if mozzarella to add to pizza, they didn't have any, only offered Parmesan. (2/10). My salad was tasty 5/10. The focaccia was ok, would have liked fresh ground pepper with the balsamic and oil, not available. I ordered the veggies with artichoke. (3/10) Overall with the service 6/10.

Yelp
Q & Z & Mom Review: Food: Q: It's really good and the pizza has thick dough. And the appetizers are perfect. Z: I like that it is nice and cheesy. Mom: Everything was fresh and delicious and all the food was eaten because the kids loved it all! Service: Q: Really nice people and a friendly restaurant. Z: They are friendly and nice to customers. Mom: Very attentive and checked in multiple times to make sure all is okay. Ambiance: Q: I like the chandeliers and I like the pizza ovens. Z: I like the lights and I like that's there's bricks because it keeps us safe. Mom: Quieter dining and wasn't too noisy. Lighting nice and there are large windows to let in natural light. Overall: Q: 5 stars Z: 5 stars Mom: 5 stars

Yelp
We've been to many Neapolitan style pizza places in the DFW area and Pizzeria Testa in Frisco has easily become our favorite. The sauce is always so fresh and flavorful. The testa rossa pizza with extra fresh basil is our favorite. The brick oven crust is excellent with just the right amount of char. The Spianata rosettes with red sauce for dipping are also addictive. Another fave and complement of flavors is the pinoli & prosciutto salad with fresh greens, prosciutto, toasted pine nuts, strawberries and balsamic vinaigrette. The building, service, and atmosphere are a perfect balance between nice enough for date night yet casual enough for anytime meals with family and friends. They also have a patio facing a small park that is pleasant when the weather is nice.

Yelp
We love testa! I've been a regular here for about 10 years! I go every Sunday after church and it's always delicious. I just yesterday celebrated my early birthday because I work tonight they gave me a free dessert. There tiramisu is to die for!!!! The service is always top tier and I love how welcoming and clean everything is... it's pricey but not too bad - a pizza is around 15$ the espresso martini and cocktails are wonderful! Overall 10/10!
google avatar

Laura V.

Yelp
Thanks to Pizzeria Testa, my fiancé & I are hooked on brick oven pizza. We absolutely love coming here, it's the food, the customer service, & ambiance that it all serves in one visit. When we have friends & family come to visit we take them here & they even love it themselves. Our favorite is the Testa Rossa (red pizza) & pesto (white pizza). Don't forget to get the tiramisu, cherry on top!

Yelp
Pizzeria Testa (not to be confused with the battery superpower) is amongst the best locations to get lunch in Frisco! It is a delightful blend of Italian & American cuisine! I was in Frisco for workshop on Monday (12/4) and the workshop leader, Nicole, planned for us to go to Pizzeria Testa for lunch. To my delight, it exceeded all expectations! The restaurant was brilliantly placed in the middle of a populated area. The design and layout was simple, yet stylish. Our server, Abby or Abi or Abbie, was very nice and took care of us well. The food was prepared and cooked to captivating flavor! Our team ordered a mix of sandwiches and pizza. I ordered the Salsiccia pizza, because of the meats included (PROTEIN) and would order it again! My favorite thing was the Tiramisu that Nicole had gotten for the table () - I would go back just for that!! If you find yourself in Frisco, make your way over to Pizzeria Testa. No matter what your expectations - you will not be disappointed. Safe to say that Testa passes the Test: (A)

Colin D.

Yelp
tough undercooked dough, watery unsalty red sauce. crust was alright. marg was pretty bad, chewy unsalty cheese as well. 3/10. rodfather had some nice meat on top, but suffered from the same poorly made and cooked dough. 5/10 you'd think staffing a bunch of high schoolers, one of them would tell the owners to start accepting apple pay, but nope. definitely prioritizing serving as many people as possible over making a competitive pizza. i would gag myself and throw it all up if someone told me they'd buy me a pizza from Farina In Grani in Richardson.

Nate

Yelp
Even after the manager's apology, the waitress continued to condescend to us by implying our complaint was just a desperate bid for a free meal--as if we couldn't afford the bill ourselves. Highly insulting and unprofessional!
google avatar

James Z.

Yelp
Our favorite pizza restaurant in DFW. They specialize in neopolitan pizza. Our go-to is the contadina, which has potato and pancetta. Potato in pizza isn't something you typically find around here but is common in Italy. The margherita is great as well. The crust is very thin and airy and you can tell they use high-quality ingredients. A great atmosphere sitting outside and facing Frisco Square as well. Quality has been consistently great everytime we've been whether dine in or takeout.
google avatar

Savannah G. E.

Yelp
I went to Pizzeria Testa for my birthday and it was such a positive experience. They put us in a table in the back room, so it felt more intimate & VIP. The waiter brought out waters without even asking! Our pizzas were made so quickly. Then, the waiter brought us tiramisu & lit a candle for my birthday. He was very polite, even brought a to-go box for the pizza and tiramisu. When my mom brought my birthday cake to our table, he brought utensils to cut the cake & helped my mom serve it. I love Pizzeria Testa. 10/10!! The staff is so polite, the bathrooms were clean, the tables & floors were clean.
google avatar

Christa M.

Yelp
I've been here twice. The pizza is unlike any other I've had. It's simple. Great crust covered with great cheese. There is no discernable sauce. If you get a pizza with ingredients, they're sparce. I've tried the Quattro Carne (meats) and Ortolana (squash, peppers and eggplant). I liked the veggie one better. The dining room is very romantic, great date night!

Dan H.

Yelp
Was excellent taste. Very busy. Impossible parking. Varnish on tables makes them sticky on humid days (even after a fresh wipe down). Better to sit at the bar. Can watch the process, which is fast and furious. If you're hungry, you may want to opt for two pies, as they are kind of small but very good (margarita)
google avatar

Bella P.

Yelp
Well buongiorno, this pizza was more authentically Italian than my great-grandmother from Italy. That first bite was so scrumptious it nearly gave me a stroke not unlike the one she passed away from. And most certainly do not miss on the Nutella sandwiches for dessert, if you plan on feeling a fraction of the ascent to heaven my late great-grandmother likely experienced. God rest her soul and god rest my ravenous appetite so that I may remain thin after remembering this place exists. Amen.
google avatar

Alexis P.

Yelp
Always my go to when I'm in town! The inside is beautiful, and you can see them cooking the pizzas right when you walk in the door which I love. The servers are always so friendly and helpful when asking for suggestions and anything new to try. You can tell they use fresh ingredients cause we never leave feeling disgusting, no matter how much food we eat! Always look forward to this place and can't wait to be back!
google avatar

Kevin W.

Yelp
Great pizza and atmosphere. Whenever we visit Dallas, we usually make sure to stop by.
google avatar

Nina K.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING! The pizza reminds me of Italy. I didn't expect this place to be so delicious. The service, ambiance, and food were 10/10. I highly recommend.
google avatar

Devon S.

Yelp
Not bad flavor but the crust is extremely flimsy and soft. I prefer a bit of a crunchier crust or at least one that doesn't flop over when picked up. Waaayyyyy too much sauce and not enough cheese IMO.
google avatar

Phyllis W.

Yelp
Love the 3 ft pizza!! Good place, good food, and great customer service!! I like the environment too!
google avatar

Hav H.

Yelp
Food is great!!! It's fresh and authentic. Friday nights are a bit crowded so expect to wait! But overall it's a good place for lunch or dinner.
google avatar

Steve F.

Yelp
Great pizza , authentic experience; as the saying goes - you get what you pay for - appetizers were solid, salad was fresh -
google avatar

Carolyn S.

Yelp
The tiramisu was by far my favorite part of the meal! They did give some good recommendations and was very attentive. The area is nice, especially on a nice sunny day.

Cici R.

Yelp
Food and service was not worth the wait even on a slower Tuesday night with flies everywhere

Lisa H.

Yelp
Love the Italian flour! Delicious and unique pizza and the arugula salad is delicious too
google avatar

Kiersten A.

Yelp
Went for lunch and got a mule, the lunch salad and pizza, and finished with an espresso martini. Everything was good but I wish the pizza was less doughy in the middle.
google avatar

Mari T.

Yelp
One of the best pizzas I have tasted in Dallas. This restaurant is located in Frisco, TX. The pizzas are fresh and tasty. They are made from scratch and I noticed their pizzas aren't greasy. The portion is good enough for 3-4 people. We ordered 4 pies and we ate it all. The servers were attentive. The decor is simple and cozy. I would come back for more!
google avatar

Nathan K.

Yelp
We were here for a birthday dinner and it absolutely did not disappoint! This is the best Neopolitan style pizza I have had in DFW from a genuine brick oven. We were seated promptly at the kitchen bar (it was packed, but we didn't mind a free show) and were served just as quickly. With the turnout, we didn't expect to get our food so fast either! From top to bottom, both pizzas were stunning, especially the Tricolore. The respective flavors worked like clockwork though one of our pizzas could have used a second or two more in the oven. The basil-infused olive oil was excellent, but the added moisture combined with slight underbaked crust made it soggy. And yet, if I received the same pizza next time, I still wouldn't complain. Absolutely incredible.
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
The food was amazing. We had pizza, pancetta salad, and the focaccia bread for appetizer. Everything was super delicious and fresh. Hostess and waitress were friendly and attentive. The restaurant had a warm and inviting atmosphere. We'll be back again when we're in the Frisco area.
google avatar

Nate K.

Yelp
This was a nice pizza joint. I got the lunch special which included a personal pizza and salad for only 11 bucks. I got the margarita pizza with a side of sauce for crust dipping. They didn't charge me for the sauce which was nice. The servers were all high school girls and they covered for each other which meant speedy service. Pizza was good and salad was acceptable. I'm not much of a salad guy so I can't really comment there. Worth a visit if you are in the area!
google avatar

Elaine M.

Yelp
Why have I not come here for pizza! This place is doing it right. You can watch them making the pizzas and using the pizza peel to put them in the oven. I'm not sure what kind of oven it is but there's wood burning in there. The crust is perfection, with some dark spots and bubbles. The main part of the pizza is thin has a good bite to it. We picked the Sausage and Mushroom Pizza with basil. It was on the money. The flavors were amazing and the fresh mozzarella was perfectly cooked. We also ordered a caprese appetizer. It was so fresh from the tomatoes and twig of basil sitting atop. We came lunch in a weekday and maybe had to wait 5 min for a table but that was only because I can't sit on bar stools. There's plenty of spots and high tables and outdoor seating.
google avatar

Molly T.

Yelp
First time here and certainly not the last. We started with some martinis and ordered the All Italianna (charcuterie board) to share. As the appetizer hit the table, we then ordered a Mista and Pancetta (no pancetta for my vegetarian friend), a pizza and a Formaggi rosette. There was no time for pictures :) The board hit the table with a side of rosemary dusted foccaccia bread. The meats and cheeses were perfect - and I wish all charcuterie boards had such depth of flavor. My hubby chose a nice chianti to finish out the meal. The salads hit the table quickly. The Mista was good but the Pancetta salad was my favorite. Then, the pizza and rosettes were dropped off. I adore the little bites of cheesy goodness for sure and will try another next time. I'm already plotting another return this week. It's a nice spot, bright and airy. Service was good and attentive. Go there. Get some. Life is too short for boring food!
google avatar

Jennifer T.

Yelp
In Evansville, Indiana there is a restaurant called Pangea. The pizza there is amazing. We have never found a restaurant that could match Pangea until now. The pizza at Pizzeria Testa is so good and full of favor. Everything tastes fresh. Our server was so welcoming and friendly. She gave us suggestions and really knew the menu. The owner/manager came out and ask us if everything was good and cleared our appetizers plates. We got three pizzas. All were excellent. You must save room for the tiramisu. The best I ever had. The atmosphere was pleasant. Decor is beautiful. This restaurant is a must

Yelp
Always will vote for TESTA's PIZZERIA in Frisco, TX as the "best" -- unless we're in Italy and that's a whole other story!!
google avatar

Nicole B.

Yelp
Food was great. I just wish they had actual high chairs instead of booster seats they place on soft areas chairs that are in no way secure enough for a rambunctious toddler.
google avatar

Tabitha B.

Yelp
First time experiencing true Italian pizza. It was delicious!! We will definitely be back. We also loved the patio with the green space. My kiddos were able to run around while we waited on food.

Larry H.

Yelp
Just good. Real good. We come here every time we visit our daughter and son in law. We've never been unhappy. Vibrant atmosphere. Delicious food.
