I chose this place to celebrate my birthday, and seeing “Happy Birthday” printed on the menu was a really thoughtful touch. The 9-course tasting menu was excellent from start to finish, with creative and well-executed dishes — from the oyster-inspired granita and Arctic surf clam with soy milk citrus sauce, to smoked eggplant stuffed with shrimp, perfectly cooked quail, and a beautifully medium-rare Korean beef sirloin with two well-matched sauces. Desserts were well balanced, ending with a refreshing lavender sorbet and a basil crème brûlée. Seasoning and presentation were spot on, though portions were on the delicate side. The 8-glass wine pairing was fun (and generous!), and the owner was incredibly friendly, explaining each dish and wine and even singing happy birthday, which made the whole experience warm and memorable.
