The 23 Best Restaurants In Phoenix 2024

"Sake Haus is a small sushi bar that feels like an underground street lounge in Tokyo, when you’re actually halfway around the world in Roosevelt Row’s arts district. For the best seats in the house, slide up to the sushi counter, start with the pork gyoza or sashimi salad, and watch the chefs go to work as they effortlessly slice through yellowtail. Sip on one of their exclusive sakes like the melon-tinted Secret Brew while counting the number of paper lanterns dangling from the ceiling. " - lauren topor

GEAT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD, GREAT ATMOSPHERE! This place quickly became my favorite sushi spot. & cocktails were really the cherry on top. EVERYTHING is perfect to the tea Shoutout to our server Shabazze for being so attentive & providing one of the best first time experiences. Shabazze was so helpful & knowledgeable in the menu as my husband has a shrimp allergy, all of the staff took care of us so well. Love everything about this place & how much pride they take in their food!

Google
Sake Haus sushi is top tier, solid 8/10. Not giving it a 10 because the service could be better (and you can tell from other reviews too). That said, the fish is super fresh and the Kin nigiri omakase is fire. One of the best spots in AZ. Sushi Rolls: RYUjIN KYUUBI THE KITSUNE

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to expectations. The fish was surprisingly decent for a spot in the desert, but for the steep price, the portions were too small, leaving us hungry when we left. The flavors were underwhelming, making the high cost even harder to justify. That said, the ambiance was stylish and moody, with a modern and hip vibe. If you’re looking for a place to grab drinks in a trendy setting, this might work for you. However, if food is your priority, I’d say look elsewhere—there are better options for a satisfying meal at this price point.

Came here for a light dinner on Friday evening. We ordered miso soup (it listed enoki mushrooms but I didnt see any in mine) and seaweed salad, but they made and sent out sashimi salad. We decided to eat it - it was good. I ordered a mocktail (was decent) and we ordered a roll and one of the sushi sampler options. The wait on the soup and salad wasn't bad - 15 mins. After an hour had passed after we received the appetizers, we were told that 6 others were ahead of us. We were told that our orders were still being made twice. So, we canceled the order after the second time and left to get food elsewhere since it had been an extremely long duration AND we did not see anyone on our side of the restaurant receive any of their orders. If you absolutely want to try out this place, and you're going on a weekend in the evening, anticipate hanging out for at least 2 hrs for all of your food. Otherwise, I'd suggest coming during non peak hours.

Hands down the best sushi place in Arizona! I lived in Chicago for 38 years and it's my belief that we have some of the best food in the country if not the best. Sushi is my absolute favorite thing to eat and I have been striking out at every single place I've been to here in Arizona. I've lived here for two and a half years and it's a little bit of a drive to get there from the West Valley for me since they're located in Phoenix but let me tell you it's worth the drive and it's the only place I will go to a recommend when it comes to the best quality food, service and atmosphere. Special team to Gary is my go-to and they are the only place that does it right here. On top of that they have the most solid lineup of Japanese whiskeys and other cocktails and that's right up my alley. Kim the manager runs this place better than any other restaurant manager I've met so far out here. She's the best and creates an environment that makes you want to come back. Definitely treats her guests and her employees as good as it gets! If I'm ever craving sushi this is where you'll find me. Thanks for always delivering 10-star service to the Sake Haus team!!!

What an amazing and inspiring spot! Cooking on an open grill outdoors? Fuck yeah! Definitely recommend for a casual night out, for getting drinks or just trying their super hip vibe out. Will be back, absolutely!

Happy hours are the best! Over time, we’ve tried almost every item on the menu, and we’ve never been disappointed!

Kim was communicative and kind when accepting my request for a party of 17 in advance. It was my son's 21st birthday and I couldn't have chosen a better location. April was patient and handled my family phenomenally. Thank you for an incredible experience. All the cuisine was absolutely delicious! 🤌🤌🤌

Yelp
Sake Haus is one of our favorite Japanese bars and kitchens in town. We love that the vibe here resembles local bars in Japan. We went there for a few date nights and also celebrated my birthday with friends one time. We loved sitting by the bar and watching the bartenders professionally handle each drink. The sushi was very fresh and tasty. It could be a bit pricy compared to some other sushi places, but you are paying not only for the quality of the food but also for the location and service. This place is located in the Row Row district in downtown Phoenix, which is a great place to do bar hopping. It is right next to the Pedal Haus Phoenix location, and in fact, they even share a bathroom facility. This place often collaborates with some events offered in the area; for example, the first that we found out about this place was through an expresso martini bar hopping event offered by the Klavi coffee place nearby. I hope to come back to this place soon, and perhaps through another fun event!

Yelp
Pretty good sushi rolls with tons of flavor and flare. Was seated pretty quickly on a Halloween night, service was slower, so plan to stay longer. Happy hour menu is worth it. Kyuubi and Poke Inarizushi were good. Great for a date.

Yelp
The Sake Haus has a great vibe. We have been trying to find our "go to"sushi restaurant since we moved here back in May and this is it!! The staff is wonderful and the food is amazing. Starter - Roasted Chili Edamame Nigiri Omakase - Kin (Gold) Chef's Special - Orange Blossom Maki Rolls - Bad & Buri, The Ronin, Ryujin Evening special - Toro + Brûlée Uni Born Gold Sake Otomo (Espresso Martini) The fish was fresh and the chef's creations were so flavorful, you didn't need the soy sauce or wasabi. We can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
Great spot. It is more of a traditional sushi spot so if you tend to aim for California Rolls/cooked rolls, there is less variety there, but if you looking for a good selection of raw fish sushi and sake then this is a great spot. A group of us showed up for happy hour without a reservation a they were able to accommodate us (I did do a call ahead just in case). Service was great and she had some solid recommendations for rolls and options for my non raw fish eating friends. Overall the sushi was phenomenal and the drinks were great as well. Not a big spot in terms of seating, but they've got great decor and the ambiance is really nice

Yelp
Forgot to take a picture of the Ryujin roll, but it was so good, didn't need any soy sauce with it. We also ordered two mocktails of their highballs. The lychee one was much better than the sesame oil one in my opinion. I also ordered the pork gyoza and it was very delicious! It only comes with 3 pieces tho. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable and checked on us often. We also got there a bit before happy hour ended so saved some dollars! (Ends at 6). Vibes were great as well and really loved the aesthetic of the restaurant.

Yelp
It is with great shame and embarrassment that I confess to frequenting Sake Haus since its inception without ever writing a review. However, I cannot begin to express how much I love this establishment. Every time I think of a review to write, I feel my words will not do Sake Haus justice. Alas, I will finally give my best attempt! A quaint establishment off Roosevelt street, Sake Haus is connected to its sister business, Pedal Haus (hence the "Haus" name!). The decor is fun, with an edgy vibe reminiscent of the alleyways of Tokyo at night. The staff is always friendly and meticulously trained - which is apparent in the detail in which they describe your food and sake. This also serves as a reminder of the thought and complexity that goes into their dishes! It always renews my respect for the food and sake, regardless of whether my palate is sophisticated enough to pick up on said details haha. Kim, the manager, is awesome and has become a friend over my many visits here. Joe, the head chef and brains behind a lot of the sushi, is a down to earth guy and deserves a lot of credit for what's been created! But ultimately, this is a restaurant! So we must talk about the food. And that food is stellar! The fish is always high quality and incredibly fresh, and the sushi is traditional with playful modern twists that really enhance the fish in unique and delicious ways. For the quality that you are getting, the cost is also incredibly fairly priced in my opinion. For me, staples will always be: - Kin Omakase Chef choice of 5 specialty nigiris. Great value, superb nigiris, and I like seeing what Chef Joe has in store for me! - Nigiris that I ALWAYS order regardless of the Kin is the seared salmon and seared scallop. The seared salmon has a hint of tajin that totally works. The seared scallop actually converted me to a scallop lover. It made me realize I didn't dislike raw scallop, I just never had a proper one until Sake Haus! - While rolls are not the bulk of their menu, the ones they do have are great! With the Kyuubi being my favorite. In addition to these staples, they always have a rotating specials menu that can include special fish or even fun new concoctions Joe has created! (A relatively recent one being the adobo nigiri. Such a slam dunk, I think it's a staple menu item now!) As the name implies, Sake is a big part of their identity. I am not a sake expert by any means, but even one as clueless as I can see their passion for it and the impressive variety of Sake that they have in stock. They also frequently have Sake Education classes which are really fun, lets you sample many different kinds of Sake, and even some bites included! If you've made it to this part - thanks for reading my very long winded review. If you skipped to the bottom, the takeaway is Phoenix's top sushi spot is undoubtedly Sake Haus! Go check them out!

Yelp
Best sushi in Phoenix. Come here all the time and never disappointed. Fish is always tastes great and very creatively made. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Can't find anything to complain about other than maybe the hard to find parking downtown. If you're coming during high traffic times you can call ahead and they can save a table for you.

Yelp
Cute like restaurant with a quirky vibe. The restaurant is small and dimly lit with some unique decorations. There was definitely a method to the madness. There were like 15 different people working and a different person took our order, brought out our appetizer, refilled our waters, cleared off our plates, brought out the drinks, brought out our main course etc. which was a little confusing but everything came out super fast and was so delicious! So I can't complain! We got there around 6 on a Saturday and had to be at a show by 7 and were out the door at 6:40. We were able to be seated right away but by the time we left it looked like there was a little wait. There is free street parking nearby on 2nd Ave., if you can find a space. We parked in the lot right next to where Pemberton used to be which was 5 bucks an hour and just a couple blocks walk.

Yelp
Came with a friend on a Friday night! Was in the mood to get sushi in the downtown area before going to a speakeasy. They don't do reservations but have a call ahead waitlist. I called while still at home and was told they had a 7:15 or 7:30pm available. We opted for the 7:30 since parking can be tough. We got there a little before 7:30 but was told a table would be another 15 minutes or so. The sushi bar area was completely open. So, we ended up just taking two of those seats. Wouldn't have been an issue at all if we just came in and took those seats. But to call ahead, told a time, and make it from desert ridge to not be late, it was a little bit annoying. However, everything else went perfectly! Our waitress was attentive. She recommended a great sake. The sushi was fresh and the prices were definitely reasonable! My friend and I had a great time overall.

Yelp
I came here for dinner on my bachelorette and had such an amazing experience. Our server was attentive, fun, and made us feel special. The sushi is some of the best I've had in Phoenix. My friends and I were still talking about how delicious the cocktails and sushi were days later. The lychee margarita and crimes of passion drinks were fan favorites.

Yelp
This as a random walk in for us and we were SO pleasantly surprised!! This was a tiny authentic hole in the wall sushi place and honestly some of the best we have ever had! We had the bad and buri roll and the ryujin rolls, and both were spectacular, HIGHLY recommend! Next time we will be coming back for the gold omakase nigiri! If you are looking for a gem sushi spot def check this place out!!!

Yelp
My boyfriend mentioned that this is one of the better sushi spots he has had while living in Arizona, and I must agree that it is very quality! Sake Haus gives off a traditional and contemporary aesthetic, and the dimly lit restaurant feels like I am underground somewhere. If you are familiar with Bang Bang in San Diego, then I am thinking of just that. It is also similar that it is a bit on the pricier side, but this was very much worth it. The menu is small, but packed with flavor. It offers a few appetizers, rolls, nigiri and sashimi. There is an omakase, which is essentially five different pieces of nigiri, and I believe at least one of the pieces changes every so often. It was mentioned that it is a chef-styled place as in the chef chooses what to serve on that day. I will say my favorite thing was the wagyu nigiri -- so much that we ordered more. The ryujin, bad & buri, and wagyu fat pork gyoza (we ordered two) were also top tier. Honestly, all of it was delicious, and I got the kin (gold) omakase, and each piece was a pleasant surprise. The sashimi salad was also tasty, but I wish the dressing was more prevalent and more cucumbers (and protein of course). Overall, everything was 10/10 (or 5/5 because it is Yelp). Our waiter was a gentleman with a ponytail (and a smiley piercing) and he was great! He was so attentive and chill. I can't remember his name and I didn't get my receipt to look for it, but shoutout to him, especially because I called him over to pay for the meal before my boyfriend got back from the bathroom. It was cool because he announced it like, "If there's nothing else you need, then you're good to go. The bill has been taken care of, she paid for it" and that was great. I didn't know he was going to do that, but it made it that much better. I would definitely come back!

Yelp
Our favorite sushi experience in Phoenix after multiple visits, and looking forward to many more. We love bringing friends here who always have the same love for it after the visit! I always know I will get to enjoy fresh, melt-in-your-mouth, authentic sushi like I've never tasted before. Drinks are fun too, a little on the sweeter side, but still delicious. I enjoy the vibes both inside and outside. Typically has pretty efficient service even when it gets busy.

Dynah S.

Yelp
Went here on a whim with one of my girlfriends while we were on a girls trip and it was quite honestly one of the best decisions we made. We were greeted by a very warm hostess who told us our wait would be around 30 minutes or so. It was VERY busy at the time, so we didn't mind waiting. When we were called for our table, they gave us the option of either inside or outside and we opted for inside due to the Phoenix heat. Inside was small, but very intimate. I do think it might have been a tad too dark, but the tables had candles and the overall vibe of the restaurant was exactly what we were looking for. The sake menu was enticing, but we decided on some cocktails as they were too interesting not to try! We ordered the lychee margarita and "from phoenix, with love". "From phoenix, with love" was by far the more superior cocktail, but the lychee margarita was also pretty tasty. I did find myself wishing it was a martini instead of a margarita, however. We started our meal off with the wagyu fat pork gyoza. It came with 3 gyoza and they were quite small, but the flavor was out of this world. It seemed like they were tossed in some sort of spicy ponzu sauce? Whatever citrussy sauce it was in, it was divine. We also each ordered a seared yellowtail nigiri and let me tell you, that aguachile on top? GAME CHANGER!!! We probably could have eaten like 6 more of those each. For main entrees, we ordered the bad & buri along with the ryujin. Both were impeccable. We found ourselves speechless after we took our first bites. The server explained that every roll was already "dressed", so we didn't need to dip our roll in any soy sauce or mayo to bring out some flavors. And boyyyyyyy were they right. No soy sauce or sriracha necessary. We could not get over how delicious these rolls were. Incredibly fresh and unique taste!!!!!! I've been raving about this place since I've been, so next time I'm in Phoenix, I definitely will be stopping by.
google avatar

Marquice B.

Yelp
Typically, when I go to a sushi place, I get wasabi and soy sauce and make that little mixture. But this time all the roles and the were so delicious. I didn't need any of that and I really got the taste this chef and the menus profile of the fish. the highball tasted like they do in Japan a little bit of soda, a powerful amount of whiskey. Everything came out fresh and in sequence, so I got time to eat the profile of what I chose and move on to the next meal. The bartender was on hand and even gave me some recommendations the orange light set a mild ambiance but I would prefer to see the food and it's natural color overall, it was a good night for Monday. There wasn't that many people there, but it was still lively with good energy. It lived up to the hype and the recommendations from other friends that haven been there.

Joshua B.

Yelp
If you are any color other than white trying to have a good time don't go. I went for a bachelorette party and they denied us because they said we were too lit. We had a beer before coming. Then they told us we are cut off before ordering food or drinks. The managers are racist. If you are served you will wait and be denied by a guy with more pimples than a constellation, short asf, no life. If you're not white the ambiance is... don't even try
google avatar

Dennys J.

Yelp
The place seems small but it really isn't. Food took some time to arrive. I do believe its very gourmet so going super hungry is prob not a good idea. I had one of the chef choices and it was good but I was still hungry :(. My husband had one of the sushi options that was really tasty too. We also tried the bar upstairs and they have local beers and multiple Options and ended up being a really nice night.

Yelp
First time checking out this spot while we were in the area. It's a small spot in the front of Pedal Haus, but still has 9 tables and sushi bar seating in the back and a few tables up front and on the patio, so it can accommodate a decent number. It's a chill vibe with dim lantern lighting and Ramones wallpaper lining the side wall. We were seated right away for 730pm on Saturday! Chris our server welcomed us and told us about the concept for the restaurant (that its traditional Japanese-style) as well as the specials of the month (sake and whiskey). He was extremely helpful and friendly, and our food came out pretty quickly. All the staff we encountered were cordial and helpful. Hubby got the seaweed salad and The Ronin, and I got the seaweed salad and The Midori. Hubby also got the whiskey of the month and said it tasted like a scotch, very smooth and not very peety. Hubby was really pleased with the Ronin. The roll appeared to have been hand charred to give it a nice smokey flavor, which was a nice change from some other rolls he'd had. The blend of all vegetables and the tempura gave a great mouth feel and crunch, all accented the delicious eel, and even the jalapeño was subtle. The seaweed salad was a little too wet for my liking and I think I was sensitive to the ginger dressing as my mouth was on fire (I know to ask for dressing on the side next time), but the salad, seaweed, and sunomono was good, and it was a decent size salad. I liked how big the midori sushi roll pieces were and they were packed with filling (which is hard to come by for vegetarian rolls). The crispy shallots were a nice addition adding a little crunch to the roll. It may be a small (pricey) menu, but it's more about the dining experience and enjoying the meal than having a ton of different options. They keep it simple and the items are all well-made and delicious.

Yelp
This sushi is authentic and traditional. Sushi comes as is and is so fresh and delicious. I am so astounded. Astonished. Amazed. Starting off with Uni is a good choice. The uni was so perfect... ugh. Had some edamame, miso soup, and some nigiri as well. All very tasty. Service was wonderful too and well informed about the menu. It's a little small but decor is cool and relatable to the restaurant. There's a nice mural inside!

Yelp
A fun weeknight in Phoenix at the Sake Haus. Fun concept with great drinks, small bites that priced just right for the quality. Service was fantastic, unfortunately a few items on the menu were not available for me to give place a five stars. I'll be coming back for sure.
google avatar

Yelp
Although the atmosphere is a vibe. I have to say.... Idk if I've ever been charged $8 EACH for a bottle of water.... on top on asking for extra sauce being another added charge. Kinda wild that the water costed almost the same as a roll. Only reason it's getting 3 stars is the ube tiramisu was pretty fire and we were in a good mood

Yelp
Came in on a Monday night wanting some sushi! I ordered quite a bit- wontons, 3 rolls, 2 nigiri plates, and the peppers. Firstly, appetizers! The wontons were my least favorite. I did not enjoy the 3 wontons I had- the sauce, texture, etc just did not resonate well with me! The peppers however were amazing! Such a nice simple flavor that really elevated my experience. All the sushi we ordered came with a very appropriate amount of rice and fish! The rice was absolutely delicious! My friend noted some hints of fishiness within some of the nigiri we ordered. Overall I enjoyed the food. The price for it is NOT that bad-- roughly 100$ for 2 hungry adults! Our server however was the sweetest girl ever! She checked up on us constantly and even ran out to bring my vape that I forgot inside! Wish I caught her name! The inside of the restaurant is nice! Very dim but romantic!

Yelp
Service wasn't the best. At least the food was decent. Unfortunately, I wouldn't go back. There's better sushi downtown.

Yelp
20/10. The chef really knows his craft. The maki rolls offer a unique experience, with their fresh flavors, subtle spice, and sweetness all perfectly balanced. I was pleasantly surprised by the lively atmosphere. I didn't expect to find such a vibrant sake bar in Arizona; I figured they'd be more common on the coast. What I ordered upon recommendation by the lovely bartender: 1. Ryujin 2. Bad and Buri 3. Her sake recommendations are spot on!
google avatar

Yelp
@sakehaus may be the best happy hour in all of PHX HALF OFF all maki rolls, starters, glasses of sake & more to kick off birthday weekend festivities we split shishito peppers, and three maki rolls: - bad & buri - kyuuibi - ryujin I can't rave about these rolls enough, they are some of the best I've had (let alone the price $)

Yelp
The sushi here is so fresh and enjoyable! The service is also great . Parking is the only difficult part and they do not validate.

Yelp
Came in on a Friday evening with my bestie and was able to get seated even though the inside was swarmed with people. Very much enjoyed the service, our waitress was amicable, explaining the menu to us in great detail and stopping by our table often. We started off with wagyu fat pork gyoza- highly recommend- and mushroom miso soup. Then we shared the ronin and the shogun rolls. Immediately this became my new favorite spot for sushi. The cocktails were delightful as well. Although it was a bustling night, the ambiance was still mellow enough to hear my friend over the noise of busy staff and chattering clientele. Their happy hour menu is also worth giving a try.
google avatar

Brad M.

Yelp
Amazing across the board. The sushi was great and the drinks were great. And to top it off, everything we ordered was 50% off for happy hour. They also have real wasibi, not green horseradish.

Yelp
Love this place! Imagine high end sushi in a Japanese dive bar and that's Sake Haus. The food is so fresh and delicious. I love sushi here. It is high end, but reasonably priced. The bar is the best place to sit in my opinion. They have great bar tenders. Great cocktails from classic martini to Japanese sangria. Service is sometimes behind, but mind you this is a small space that gets packed. They are working with what they have at the moment. I'd really like to see this place possibly expand.

Yelp
Our waitress said "This is not your average sushi place..." She was right! Sake Haus is way better! I wish I would have gotten her name, she was so amazing. She actually ended up taking care of us when one of the other servers got a little overwhelmed. We had never been here before so she let us know how Sake Haus worked and that they don't provide things like Soy Sauce, Wasabi, or Ginger. She said we shouldn't need it because their sushi has so much flavor, and I am a slop as much Soy Sauce and Wasabi on my sushi as possible kind of gal and she was right, I didn't miss it at all. We sat up at the sushi bar and we were able to watch first hand how all the magic is made. One of the sushi chef's even provided us with some complimentary sushi, so amazing. My husband had their Toshi Old Fashioned and he fell in love with it. I was lucky he took me home and not the drink. I had a glass of Sauvignon blanc. We started with one of their daily specials, The Crudo, it was so fresh and the perfect starter with yellow tail, sliced avocado, sliced and charred grape fruit, and a crispy onion topping. Then we decided on the 808 roll and let our waitress pick our second roll for us. Every thing was amazing. So fresh and full of flavor. The place itself was a little dark but cozy and classy. Next time I'm in the mood for good sushi, there is no question that this is where I'll be heading.

Yelp
Sake Haus has ruined sushi for me in the best way. My wife and I stumbled in to this place as we were seeking a place to get a drink during a wild First Friday street fair on our first trip to Phoenix. We immediately fell in love with the vibe of Sale Haus. The place is very cool. The staff was fantastic and attentive on a packed Friday night. We ordered three rolls to split between us and a couple drinks. Looking around we noticed, no wasabi, no soy sauce, and no ginger on anyone's table. The rolls came out and they are not like any sushi we have ever experienced. All three rolls were fantastically unique and had well balanced, complex flavors. The use of ingredients like garlic and cilantro brought an amazing and unexpected flavor to familiar dishes we've had many times in the past. There was absolutely no need for more wasabi, soy or ginger. In fact I'm so thankful that none was provided as it would be a travesty to try to alter what the chef had provided. Now here's our dilemma, I can't imagine going back to the tried and true, really good, sushi places that we regularly enjoy knowing now just how mind blowingly amazing it can actually be. We aren't locals so I'm not sure what we are going to do from this point on.. Regular trips to Phoenix will just be necessary in order to get our sushi fix from now on, I suppose.

Yelp
Love love love this spot. When people ask for a good sushi spot I always send them here. Service is always 100. They staff is always well educated on the sake / drinks and food. Fast and professional. The ambience is relaxed, moody, low light with good music and artsy .. also lots of cool shops to check out afterwards. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I've been here twice now and have had pretty good experiences both times. Their happy hour menu is pretty sweet with half off maki rolls. We tried 3 different rolls and I would order them all again. Great price on happy hour, but I wouldn't pay full price for them because they are very pricy if not on HH. I would come back primarily on HH for their maki rolls.

Yelp
What a great find! This place has been on my list for a while and I was gad to finally have the chance to go! I went on a Friday around 6pm. The place was hopping and it was a 30 min wait for a table! They have a happy hour, but we missed it - it is from 4-6pm on weekdays. I ordered a sake flight and several nigiri from the signature nigiri list. Everything was delicious! The fish was very high quality and many of the pieces had a small dollop of sauce to accentuate the flavor. The ambiance is small and intimate, but busy!

Yelp
We went during happy hour and all the maki rolls were super good and cheap!!! The quality of the fish was surprisingly very good the sushi quite literally melts in your mouth. The vibes this place has is immaculate. Great for a chill date or catching up with friends. Service was great and employees were all very attentive and kind.

Yelp
Wow! I stumbled across this place on first Friday. Left Phoenix about 3 weeks ago. And I am still thinking about my experience here. Such authentic, delicious and unique rolls! I'd recommend this place for group of friends and dates. The service was superb. The ambiance made the experience that much better. 5/5 stars.

Yelp
Sat at the bar. Bartender made me a Japanese whiskey drink with cucumber that was amazing. Food incredible. Best nigiris in town. The place is gorgeous and intimate with low lights perfect for dates. Only negative comment I have is that when we ask for wasabi (because we never got any wasabi or ginger) the check came with $2 for wasabi and $2 for another type of wasabi we didn't even asked! It's not the money, it's the principle! It lefts a bit of a sour taste. Definitely will give it another try tho.

Yelp
Great place for a drink but not for sushi Tried signature omakase and maki rolls. Fish was very fishy and my maki roll was dried. Also, it took over 30 minutes to get the food. If you are coming for a drink and unique environment then this is the place! For sushi lover, I would recommend somewhere else

Yelp
TLDR: Best Happy Hour in PHX. Half off sake bombs, apps and maki rolls! Vibe: 5/5. Located just north of downtown Phoenix, Sakehaus occupies the lower level of the Pedal Haus brewery. When you step inside, it gives off a modern izakaya vibe that is very inviting. The interior is broken up into 2 sections, the front being where the sushi bar is located and the back being more of a high table dining room. The back has larger communal style tables which is perfect for larger groups. During our visit, we had a party of 6 which easily fit at one of the back room tables. One oddity worth mentioning is that there are no bathrooms located inside Sake Haus. You will need to go outside to Pedal Haus brewing (located behind and above Sake Haus) in order to use the restrooms. Service: 5/5. The wait staff was excellent from start to finish! We arrived at Sake Haus right when they opened at 4pm for their infamous happy hour and the staff was quick to get us seated and the first round of drinks. We ordered several rolls to share and they were all brought out relatively at the same time which was perfect. Overall, nothing to complain about here! Food: 5/5. Sake Haus has a great menu that appeals to both classic sushi lovers and those that are looking for a modern take. As mentioned above, my group of 6 came for their infamous happy hour which includes half off maki rolls, appetizers and sake bombs. This is a fantastic deal and caters perfectly to the after work crowd. We opted to order every maki roll on their menu to share as well as every appetizer and we were blown away by the quality. The roll combinations were nicely thought out and generous in size. The sake bombs are also an amazing deal, as each sake bomb order is a 22oz Sapporo and a whole 10oz sake container! We each ordered one, so this was more than enough for our visit! Overall, if you are in the neighborhood looking for a chill place to unwind after work, Sake Haus will definitely fit the bill!

Yelp
We had a great dining experience. Our server was attentive and gave great recommendations. The space was a bit small, but decorated very well. All of the seafood was fresh and made to order.

Yelp
It was good sushi! I've got experience with sushi from the midwest, and sushi from Los Angeles, so sushi from Phoenix is a great middleground and this is would be a solid middleground between the two states. Got a few critiques though. Firstly, the wait. Poor chefs were working their tails off. The restaurant is way too big for 4 guys if you're opening up the whole restaurant on a Friday. We waited 45 minutes for our ticket to come up. And that was for our first round of edamame. Secondly, and most glaringly, let me be abundantly clear to the owners: you are not Nobu... leave soy sauce. The quality of your fish is not NEARLY fresh enough to compensate for zero salt in the dish, and neither is Nobu's. Just leave the soy sauce. Your drink menu should also not be as expensive as it is, considering Nebraska has cheaper prices per ounce of hard to find import sake. Unless you're paying your staff L.A. wages, dont charge L.A. prices. Good food. Very communicative waitstaff. Wont be back.

Yelp
The best sushi in Phx. Great service and high quality sushi. The Japanese whiskey selection is fantastic too.

Yelp
My favorite place to get sushi in town! I go at least once a week. My favorites are the seaweed salad and bad and buri roll. Their happy hour is great and their service is amazing. I can't recommend this place enough.

Yelp
We stopped by Same Haus before a concert. Lucky for us, we stopped right in Happy Hour (which I believe is M-F, 4pm-6pm). They're happy hour is solid as they give you 50% off their most popular rolls and sakes. This allowed us to try most of the rolls. During happy hour, I think they are fine, but do seem to be overpriced as they are pretty small rolls compared to somewhere like Harumi, down the street. Taste wise, I thought the fish tasted fresh but the overall taste was just okay. The waiter explained the menu to us extensively and was very attentive to any needs we may have. As far as the location itself, it's definitely a vibey, photogenic location - a good spot to hang out. So overall, it was good but I still swear by Harumi.

Yelp
This is a very fun vibe. Great people service was amazing.. DeAndre and Mac were just super. The highlight for me were the scallops then the Toro with garlic, but all fish was fresh and tasty.. they even had Yuzu peppers. I love.

Yelp
came here on Valentine's Day on a whim cuz the place we originally planned on was full. upon calling the restaurant, the hostess kindly let us know that there was space in 40 min & to come back then. we got there a bit early & she had a spot open up so we sat down immediately. we sat at the bar so the bartender served us. she then told us that there was a limited menu on that day (prix fixe set, & a few appetizers only). & THEN said there was nothing left except the prix fixe set but they can do the 5 piece nigiri set as a la carte. we were a bit taken aback! it was only about 7pm at this point so it wasn't even late in the night or anything. the hostess should've let us know when we called. i personally do not want to dine somewhere where there is 1 thing on the menu. we actually saw a couple tables get up & leave after hearing this. which is what we should've done. at least the nigiri pieces were good! service was exceptionally slow for a not too busy night. probably won't return just cuz of a bad first impression but the food was pretty good for phx.

Yelp
We loved it here! We stopped in for a quick bite before heading to a concert and it was great. Amazing service and ambiance. Super efficient waitstaff. We ordered the Shogun roll and the Ryujin roll. Both were amazing! The shogun was zesty and the Ryujin was the perfect amount of spicy. We also ordered the Crimes of Passion, a Toshi Old Fashion, and a For All My Friends and all were great! If we didn't have somewhere to be we definitely would have ordered off the specials menu because they sounded amazing (it featured a wagyu beef bowl, yum!).

Yelp
Food was good, not as many options as other places. Love Maguro but their options for it are slim. Service was great, we arrived early and they let us in out of the heat till they opened, very friendly and helpful staff. Mood of the place was very chill, cool with dim lights made me think it was super hot outside.
