Best Restaurants to Try While Visiting Wilmington, North Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"Salita Pizza opened to great fanfare in the Cargo District in late spring 2023 and continues to draw crowds with wood-fired pizzas and soft-serve ice cream out of a small takeout window. Must-orders include the margherita, the lemon pizza (herb cream, smoked fontina, roasted onion, basil, pistachio), and the roasted Brussels sprouts. Follow Salita on social media to know which weekends it offers Montreal-style wood-fired bagels (they almost always sell out), and keep tabs on occasional pop-ups. A recent pop-up, Wafu Izakaya, offered mortadella musubi, whipped tofu with pizza bianco, and a donburi bowl with winter vegetable Japanese curry." - Matt Lardie

12 Hottest Restaurants in Wilmington, North Carolina

"Salita Pizza has taken the ILM dining scene by storm, with wood-fired pizza, Montreal-style bagels, and soft-serve ice cream all out of a tiny, takeout-only space in the Cargo District. There are both seasonal and regular pizzas, and the weekend-only bagels usually sell out. Salita has also been testing different pop-ups, the most recent being Salita Mezze, with a special menu of Mediterranean bites." - Matt Lardie

The pizza was delicious but the price needs a bit more work. $20 for a personal 4 slice pizza. I personally don’t mind the burned crust because that’s what you get for a cooked wood fire pizza. I would also recommend staying open later on the weekends to catch the social crowd from fermental. Highly recommend ordering online vs walk up. Prepared for a wait

Not sure how this place “only” has 4.6 stars. Definitely a 5+ from me. Their peach nduja pizza special was probably my favorite pizza I’ve ever had. The flavors were curated so well and the sourdough crust was perfectly crisp and slightly charred. And don’t miss their morning pastries. The sweet sourdough focaccia and olive oil muffins are out of this world—equally as much of a masterpiece as the pizza. Should be called Salita Pizza AND Bakery. The fact they use local and organic ingredients is incredibly important and worth all the praise. If your complaint happens to be the price—let me tell you, it’s a worthy investment—the prices are actually very good considering the quality and cost of these ingredients. Your body will thank you! Hope this worthy place continues getting lots of support!

Amazing pizza and my favorite Lemon pizza. I didn’t expected that flavor so I’m happy to tried it. I think the pizza was a little expensive and the size was very small but excellent flavor. Next time I’m going to try the sorbet

Just an overall extremely special and unique place. I’ve eaten here dozens of times since they’ve opened and never been disappointed. Literally every component of every dish is the highest quality available and so well thought out. Plus the owners + entire staff are all very nice people. Looove this place so much ☺️

The entire 3 pizzas we ordered were all burned, blackened and well done! Unfortunately we didnt open the boxes before we got home. I wouldn’t recommend them.

What a lovely gem! The pizza was phenomenal - fresh ingredients, fired hot, and great crust. And the soft serve!!! Omg I did not know how much I needed olive oil on my ice cream.

Only got to stop by for bagels but this place was the cutest! Can’t speak for pizza or ice cream, I do want to go back. Our bagels were served untoasted and with cream cheese in takeaway ramekins. We had anticipated fully “made” and wrapped bagels like we saw in pics... Small let down. But the flavors were definitely there, and really inventive. We also got the pecan cinnamon roll thing, and I’m not gonna lie, it was awful 🙊Very pretty looking but completely dry and stale. Definitely want to come back for the other menu items.

We tried the burrata, persimmon and pepperoni pizza and got the soft serve for dessert. We loved every bit of everything. The ingredients taste notably fresh and were so flavorful. The guys working the counter were super kind and helpful. Perfect experience
