"The Sanchez in question is Rosio – a former Head Pastry Chef at Noma – and she certainly knows how to put the fun in dining out with this lively neighbourhood spot. Bringing the bold, powerful flavours of her Mexican heritage and presenting them in a small plates concept – accompanied, of course, by a margarita or maybe the mezcal pairing – has proved the perfect recipe for success. The ‘Favourite Servings’, made up of five dishes selected by the kitchen team, is a hit – and there’s always the option to pop in on your way past just for tacos and snacks." - Michelin Inspector

The 38 Best Restaurants in Copenhagen, Denmark | Eater

"Since opening her first taco stand outside the Torvehallerne market back in 2015, chef Rosio Sanchez has grown a small empire of casual taquerias, as well as this crown jewel, which offers upscale a la carte and tasting menus. The menu reflects the chef’s Mexican upbringing in Chicago, and there’s a strong throughline of masa, which is always cooked fresh and transformed into perfect little tortillas. Among the more classic dishes, don’t sleep on the cochinita pibil taco with slow-cooked pork from Hindsholm, but be sure to try some of the more creative and seasonal items, like the spicy mussels. Solo diners are well taken care of in the bar, tucking into warm peanuts toasted with garlic and chile de árbol alongside mezcal margaritas. A big bonus: Many of the top restaurants in Copenhagen are only open for dinner, but Sanchez caters to the lunch crowd." - Anna Norström

22 Best Restaurants in Copenhagen

"Located on a corner in Copenhagen's gritty Vesterbro area, Sanchez is a neighborhood joint that owes its name to Rosio Sanchez, the Noma alum who opened it. Despite its fairly minimalistic design, the restaurant still has an energetic vibe and loads of character. You'll find fine Mexican cuisine rooted in traditional flavors and given Nordic twist. The effect is surprising and delicious, from the house-made tacos with Scandinavian salmon to the locally made queso fresco." - Mary Holland
