Yelp
OK, so a place in NY dedicated entirely to cookies AND has a line out the door (albeit of a tiny store) at prime dinner 6:15pm time on a Sunday? They definitely have good marketing, with a cute drawing sign outside, a cutely designed menu and intriguing flavors.
I got 3 cookies: the Apple Crisp, Sweet Yam and Cookies & Cream, which came out to $10.75 (1 for $3.75, 2 for $7).
*The Apple Crisp disappointingly had more flavors of oatmeal, white chocolate and caramel than apple, which could hardly be detected at all. The *Sweet Yam was an interesting consistency, with it being made of cornmeal, and a hint of yam, with a marshmallow cream on top - just OK.
*The flavor I found the most commonplace, yet could not resist, the cookies & cream, ended up being my favorite, with the chewy consistency, the Oreo-ness of it, but the frosting unnecessarily sweet.
I liked that the packaging was light, just wax papers between to cookies to prevent sticking, in a bigger paper slip.
The lady picking out the cookies for me was a bit "what do ya want" vibes, but the girl who rung me up was friendly, even taking the time to answer my question about how long the cookies keep with a smile.
Overall, glad I got to try Schmackary's, with its unique flavors and store vibe, but ultimately it was waaay too sweet for my palate/I didn't love the execution.
