The 8 Best Korean BBQ Restaurants in Houston - Houston - The Infatuation

"Step inside Seoul Garden in Spring Branch and you’ll gingerly cross a bridge over a small indoor pond with a waterwheel just to enter the dining room. The ambiance is pretty understated: a few portraits, a handful of plants sprinkled around the room, and the subtle hum of the propane grill at your table. You’re here for the caramelized thin strips of pork bulgogi and beef brisket that make their way to your table, along with a parade of banchan. And while the menu here is pretty standard, there’s plenty of food to choose from (including the side salad with an invigorating ginger dressing), and the staff allows you to take over the grilling as you see fit." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas

Seoul Garden - Review - Spring Branch - Houston - The Infatuation

"Step inside Seoul Garden in Spring Branch and you’ll have to gingerly cross a bridge over a small indoor pond that's complete with a waterwheel just to get into the dining room. We heard a lot about this place and everyone said it is authentic and owned by Korean people. Of course we had to try it because we love Korean food and we are always looking for a delicious and affordable spot. It took us almost one hour to get there. The restaurant is located in an old building which makes it look a little strange from the outside, but their entrance stands out and looks totally different, so it is easy to spot. When we walked in, the inside was nicely decorated and surprisingly big. There was no wait at all and we got seated right away. One thing I really loved is that the place is run by elderly ladies. It made me feel like I was at home and they were like moms and grandmas cooking for me. They were super friendly and very kind. They have a huge menu because they also serve Korean BBQ, but it is not all you can eat. You order by plate, which can be pricey, but the quality is much better. We only ordered two meals because the food is on the pricey side, but honestly the portion sizes were enough for both of us. Their banchan was really good, and I especially liked the tofu. Here is what we ordered: • Bulgogi Hot Stone Pot Bibimbap (B5): Bibimbap served in a hot stone bowl that stays hot for about ten to twelve minutes. It keeps your food warm the whole time, which I love. • Soondooboo Combo, LA Galbi plus Seafood Soondooboo: This is listed under TC1 on the menu but I asked if I could switch it to seafood and they said yes. They are very flexible with requests. Everything came out piping hot and super fresh. We enjoyed everything we ordered. The food was amazing and the service was even better. They work together as a team and help every table, not just their own. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely come back. I understand the high price because the ingredients, inventory, and spices are expensive, but my husband went to Korea and said dishes are much cheaper there. We just think that if the price could be a little lower it would be even better. Everything was nice and good. Happy stomach means happy

Haven’t been here in awhile, but was brought here for their Galbitang (short rib soup) and was surprised by how great the dish was. Friend swore this place had the best version of this dish in Houston, and I couldn’t think of a place I enjoyed more honestly. Also ask for the egg soufflé which is huge and delicious! Went back a week later with my cousin to have him enjoy it as well.

Google
Ah, the timeless tango of dining out—where the promise of culinary delight crashes headlong into the brick wall of human indifference. Picture this: you, hopeful and hangry, stepping into a restaurant that's supposed to whisk you away to flavor town. Instead, you're greeted by the hostess, whose eye-roll at your innocent question about the menu. But listen, the real five-star experience was the comedy. I told our waitress at the end, completely deadpan, “You’re an incredible server with a beautiful smile,” and she looked like she was trying to solve quantum physics in her head to figure out if I was serious. Dropped a $5 tip just to keep the bit going. Worth every penny for the story. Verdict: Skip this place unless you want dinner and a show—where the show is two grown adults getting emotionally waterboarded by passive aggression and the dinner is whatever “edible” means on its worst day. 10/10 for live theater, 2/10 for actual restauranting. Bring popcorn, not an appetite.

Seoul garden is a hidden jam even though it has been around a long time. Mrs Suzy was a really excellent host. We love this place and we’ll be back.

Awesome Korean bbq. Lots of options and food comes out quick. Everything was fresh, authentic and delicious.

Google
This is a great place for a business lunch. It is quiet enough to easily carry on a conversation. The Korean food is very good and the waitress may ask if you want a fork in addition to the chopsticks. I was able to manage without the fork but could use some improvement. The meals are delicious and ample, you won't leave hungry.

Had our Thanksgiving Dinner there with 20 plus family. Excellent food, Excellent helpful staff. Very clean and lovely restaurant. If you like Korean food, this is the only place you should go! You can cook it yourself, we asked they cook it as we had so many pe9ple including children.

Google
I really enjoy this Korean restaurant. The BBQ meats are delicious (zzz need to order at least 2 meat orders in order to BBQ) at your table. and so are the stews. The side dishes tasted fresh and crisp. The servers are friendly and accommodating. I’ve probably been here about 6 times in 2023.

Yelp
THE BEST place to get authentic Korean food in Houston! Don't contemplate, just go. My family and I love this place and go there every Sunday. I usually get kimpab, bulgogi cooked in the kitchen, tofu soup, NEVER disappointed. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would.

Yelp
I love driving all the way over here just so my girlfriends can I can catch up, eat and have a couple drinks as we chat. We always start off with some Soju and order our classic favorites... Order BS4, Japchae, Kimchi, rice and everything that comes with the order. The restaurant is always busy when we go for dinner time and the service is always fast and efficient, if there is a mix up they always make sure to make it right which I appreciate it very much. The decor can a be a little cheesy but I am all for it, I love the entryway doors, the fountain in the entrance and all the cherry blossoms. The food is so fresh, so delicious and well seasoned. This will always be our favorite place to catch up regardless how far we come from.

Yelp
I'd give this place a 3.5/5. I really like the interior of this restaurant. It is cozy and spacious. I ordered the seafood bibimbap, grilled intestines, and the Galbitang. My favorite was the bibimbap because it had good flavor and the seafood wasn't overcooked. The intestines were really bland, although there was a bunch of sauce on it. The galbitang was too salty and didn't quite have that rich beef flavor. I do really like the selection of Banchans they offer. I would probably come back and try some other dishes. my main complaint would be some of the servers are a bit pushy but it's not a big deal.
google avatar

Philip P.

Yelp
Staff was chill and nice, no complaints there. But my to-go bento box? Bro... by the time I got home, it was colder than Houston A/C in January. The kimchi tasted like it'd been marinating since 1999... way too sour for me. The meats were edible, but nothing to write home about. Galbi-tang soup? Let's just say it had more water than flavor, as if the beef took a bath and forgot to season itself. I'll give them one more shot, but next time I'm eating it hot at the restaurant, not at home reheating disappointment.

Yelp
I haven't been here since before COVID. We wanted Korean BBQ for dinner without the AYCE option, just nice wholesome restaurant feel where the staff takes care of you. We got just that here. I love the push button to call the server to our table when needed. We ordered too much for 4 people. We had: * Seafood pancake - thinner than I remembered but still just as good. * KBBQ, asked to have it cooked in the back because none of us wanted the task of cooking tonight: * Boneless marinated short rib - I didn't remember how tender and delicious it is here but will come back anytime I'm craving some! * pork belly- perfectly slice, crispy and not too fatty. * squid - beautifully presented and shameful of me not to capture the photo before the waitress cut it into strips. * Galbi tang soup - menu indicated it's new so we had to try since it's my favorite soup. Glad we did, well worth $15, cheaper than anywhere else in Houston and so tasty. Came with two full beef ribs! I noted that the steamed rice is no longer served in metal bowls, now served in plastic bowls, got cold fast. The banchans were still good, salad and the usual. I noted the servers seem to get annoyed with our asking for refills on hot barley tea and the banchans, made us feel uncomfortable for asking. Additionally, we were all sweating as it was terribly warm inside the restaurant, seems their AC isn't working hard enough to accommodate for the hot food. I would consider coming back when the weather is cooler outside, uncomfortable to eat this kind of food while sweating buckets.

Yelp
We absolutely love the ambience of this restaurant- from the waiting area with a little manmade pond to the quietness and privacy of the rooms for larger parties, you will definitely feel the difference. We loved the bossam wraps - which are tender and flavorful roasted pork belly and wrapped with big pieces of lettuce and drenched with gochijang. The banchan is excellent here and they go over and above to make sure you get second and third helpings. Loved the kimchi, the seasoned potatoes, and the seaweed salad. We really enjoyed the flavorfulness of the bulgogi and the short ribs. One of the fan favorites was the seafood pancake. It is made with shrimp and squid with egg over scallion. This never fails to impress. Absolutely some of the best and authentic Korean places in Houston. You will leave with your hearts and stomachs full.

Yelp
Having celiac disease is difficult, so finding a restaurant that my family can enjoy a wonderful meal & I can still be accommodated is such a blessing! I asked to speak to a manager about my allergy & she took my order when I was ready. I could eat many things on the menu & my family got the shared Korean meats plate for everyone. I couldn't eat the meats but I was able to enjoy most of the vegetables and side dishes they brought out. The kimchi soup was delicious!

Yelp
I love this place for the food and that's about it. My family has had many problems with the waitresses which is a shame cause I really like their food but it is not worth the experience.

Yelp
I was on a search for quality bibimbap, and beelined to Long Point, and found Seoul Garden. It was lunchtime and as we walked in, we were greeted and seated immediately. The decor was old world, the seating had the standard grill in the center. My friend and I had a large table with plenty of arm and leg room. The bibimbap came accompanied with a good selection of banchan, including fish cakes and kimchi. The bowl was still sizzling. The bulgogi I ordered was flavorful. The rice was a good mix of fluffy, sticky, and crispy. I ordered tea and was refilled multiple times. The service was great! Overall a great experience. I would definitely come back for lunch.

Yelp
Delicious! Been here forever. Service is always perfect. Everything is al la carte or per person. The least expensive one is 35$ per person and it was well over enough meat. They also have hotpot. It's different from Kpot and more authentic than the modern Korean bbq places.
google avatar

Yelp
Met some friends for a late lunch on a Sunday and decided to stop at Seoul Garden. The menu is extensive with all the classics and you can choose from cooked dishes or kbbq. I decided on the udon which came with two pieces of tempura shrimp. The shrimp was overly battered but not bad but the udon was the true winner. Served in a hot pot, the broth was full of flavor with lots shrimp and veggies. The udon had a chew to them and soaked up the broth well. I didn't get to try any of the banchan but my friends enjoyed them. Service was great and the servers attentive. I'd like to go back again to try more of the menu.

Yelp
This has to be one of my favorite Korean restaurants in all of Houston. It has the most consistent flavors Service the interior the restaurants a little bit dated probably from the early 90s late 80s. The servers are friendly. The food I think is a really good bank for buck. You can cook it in front of you if you order three meat or more also they could have you could have the kitchen kitchen cook the food up the meat. The octopus stirfry is delicious and soft. The ingredients taste fresh and freshly made. Probably come here once every two months and the family really enjoys it every single time flavors are on point clean interior. The parking lot can get very full. You can have a long weight as it can't get busy so be patient because it will be worth the wait.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite authentic Korean food places. We always order the Japchae - stir-fried clear noodles with assorted vegetables, beef, soy sauce and sesame oil. The Pumpkin Pancake - pan fried zucchini pancake with egg batter, and Galbi - flanked cut short ribs. We have also order the Soondooboo - tofu soup and Daepae Samgyupsal - thinly sliced pork belly on occasion. You can have them cook your food in the back, which is nice. The atmosphere is cute with a water wheel and running waterfall. The service is great too. Highly recommend.

Yelp
This place is every bit of fantastic. Amazing service and food. Lots of flavor!! Large serving sizes. I can't brag enough about this place. Can't wait to return.

Yelp
Catering by Seoul Garden. Every dish was delicious! From the Korean braised short ribs to the fried chicken wings, spicy boiled squid salad mix, banchan side dishes, and various kimchis - all amazingly prepared. Thank you for representing what a Korean catering experience should be!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my trip to Seoul Garden. The restaurant has a cute little waterfall in the foyer and the waitstaff is fast and solicitous. I tried their seafood pancake which was delicious, their kimbap which came in huge amounts, and their galbi and thin pork belly which was very good. The Banchan was yummy and they would refill it regularly. Overall I would come back again. I have to admit I was a bit confused at first thinking it was kbbq but it was not lol. Close to the hmart blalock so you can go get some grocery shopping done before you go to the restaurant.

Yelp
Seoul garden has been one of my favorite restaurants recently. A friend of mine took me for lunch one day and I've come back several times since. I have to say, the seafood pancake is one of the best foods l've ever had. My go to order is the soondooboo combo with seafood soondooboo and bulgogi. The sides here are also really good, particularly the kimchi and bean sprouts. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Seoul Garden has been the choice Korean restaurant for my family for over a decade now. The food is delicious and they give you (and don't charge for) all of the traditional sides when you eat there. We have had some issues with the service throughout the years: but I believe that the owners have done a great job trying to get their servers to acclimate to American customer's needs and expectations. Overall I would say their service has been *much* better over the past 3 years. This really is a "family style" restaurant that immerses you in the culture of Korean cuisine. You even have the option to cook the meat yourself which my father has done traditionally for our family. I recommend Seoul Garden for their flavorful, truly traditional Korean cuisine, their immersive atmosphere and their constantly improving customer service.

Yelp
My niece was visiting & the one thing she wanted was K-BBQ! Since my last visit to my usual place was dismal, I checked on Yelp & realized I have been to Seoul Garden with my mother's acupuncture doctor & had enjoyed the food. We were immediately greeted & shown to a table. Everything on the menu looked awesome! We ordered our food & feeling lazy, had the kitchen cook for us instead of grilling at the table. The seafood pancake, salad & sides hit the table pretty quickly. Best K-pancake I've had to date, really tasty & the salad was made with fresh ingredients w plenty of cucumbers & carrots. Loved the salad dressing. The sides were also delicious! The cooked meat & squid hit the table & we dug in. Everything was very delicious and everything had a nice kick to it. Even though we didn't cook at the tale, we left smelling like we did :) I think this will be my new go-to place for K-BBQ.

Yelp
Seoul Garden has established itself as a haven for Korean cuisine enthusiasts and I cannot believe I have not written any reviews for this place yet. Oh the crime!!! The water wheel decor on top of an artificial indoor pond will charm any guests stepping foot into the restaurant. And I assume the bridge acts as a bridge to Korea through this restaurant? Lol idek. Anyhow, to the main point of this review, the food is AMAZING! You can request for actual Korean BBQ where you cook at the table with your parties or the restaurant can do it for you in the back (which takes away the fun but very ideal for small children/disabled people). We've had their la-galbi, bulgogi, galbisal gui, shrimp gui, and beef tongue gui time and time over and we're still obsessed with how flavorful they are every visit! Their appetizers, specifically takoyaki and gunmandu, are also very tasty. The accompanying plain white rice at Seoul Garden deserves special mention for its exceptional taste and texture. I'll be honest, I'm Asian, and I was blown away by their freaking plain white rice?! I even had to ask for the type of rice that they used or if there were any special methods involved in cooking because I've never had plain rice that was so fluffy and fragrant. Through our conversations with the servers, we also learned that all the side dishes are made in-house, which is insane (!!!) because there were probably 8-10 side dishes and they're super generous with the portions AND refills. Needless to say, Seoul Garden has been our fave Korean BBQ restaurant and will (hopefully) stay this way. Please don't ever change!!!

Yelp
My cousin made reservation and we accidentally went across the street to the location with a similar name. Don't do what we do. Must come here. Shhh hahaha. Seoul Garden was awesome. We are visiting and got here. Tons of parking in front. When you walk it, it's huge inside. There's smaller rooms and tables to the left and throughout the restaurant. Our cousins were at the right restaurant so were already seated. We came in, ordered and the rest was amazing. Great service and the waitresses not only take our orders, they also cook for us and cut the larger pieces to smaller ones for us to enjoy. I'm in heaven. I ordered a few rounds of my fav side items and they refilled it with no issues. Meats were so good and fresh. Our whole table enjoyed the dinner very much. It's not AYCE but the meats were premium grade and sides were plentiful, we were full and not overly stuffed. Left happy. And I didn't smell like meat when I left. Win win right there.

Yelp
Delicious Korean BBQ in Spring Branch! Lunch time is very busy, and their lunch specials menus are very variety. I like their marinade beef, but tastes pretty strong. Sometimes I ordered without marinade.

Yelp
One of my favorite places to get Korean food In Houston. Super authentic, served by what feels like Korean aunties. Always kind and friendly.

Yelp
Was around the area and was craving Korean cuisine so went to checked out this place. The food was great!! I got TC1 and it comes with rice and soup which I chose mixed tofu soup. If you are around the area I recommend you checking it out and also the lady that was serving us was very sweet!

Yelp
I love all of the ajummas here. That's the wonderful ambience this place offers. It's not fancy, though it is nicely decorated with a water wheel and other features. Because of the staff, this place feels more like an extension of your living room. We don't normally eat K-BBQ at restaurants because we prefer to do that at home, most times outside, sitting on the floor, with banchan galore. What do we get? Haemul Pajeon - love the seafood pancake here, served with what I affectionately call "crack sauce". The seafood to pancake ratio is just right IMHO, because you don't want the seafood to dominate since the crispy pancake is just as much of a player in this show. Bibimbap - whether you choose the regular bibimbap, dolsot (stone bowl), or any of the other varieties, they are all delish. We know, we have tried them all. Galbi Tang - the soup with beef bones is spectacular. It's the sort that leaves your lips sticky after you finish, a sign that someone took care to get all the essence and collagen out from the bones and into the elixir. Soondubu Jjegae - the spicy soft tofu stew, accompanied by rice, is one of my favorite "I'm not 100% today and need warm comfort" type of meals, especially if the cause of the sub-100% is due to a hangover (don't judge). Each spoonful is a little caress on your head and a voice whispering "aigoo, you ok, you ok". Grilled Mackerel - you gotta be a fish lover and good with eating off the bone. If you are, get THIS. Mackerel is a wonderfully flavorful dish due to the higher oil content (read 'really tasty Omega 3'). This is a dish I love getting when I can take my time for a meal, picking at and savoring each morsel of meat and chatting up with my wife or a good friend. There are many more dishes we like, but these are common in the rotation. Btw, I'm not knocking the BBQ here. We have had it and it's yummers. We just like doing it up at home with a lineup of soju (I told you not to judge me ). Stop by, say hello and be bond to the ajummas, enjoy your meal, and thank me later.

Yelp
What did the government minister in Seoul say? "I never wanted to be known as a Korea politician." What to order: Yuk Gae Jang (beef soup). If you, like me, refer to your underwear as your "Garden", then you know that there are many restaurants out there that will leave you with a "Soiled Garden." This is not one of them. On Long Point, you'll find this absolutely delicious Korean food from this little restaurant on the north side of the street. The service isn't always great, but it's not bad, and we definitely like the soup here. We do want them to crank up the spice several levels next time we come though. But we love Korean food, and this is one of the better places to get it in Houston. Now if you've been to Busch Gardens or Madison Square Garden or the Garden State Plaza in Paramus, NJ, then you know that there are many gardens, and some of them are not altogether pleasant. But there is only one garden that serves utterly spectacular Korean food. Indeed, this is the "Sole Garden" where you will find food this delicious. And when Barbi poses here without shoes, it really is "Sole Garden." Regardless, you must give SG a try. It is a really lovely restaurant with really nice decor. We love coming here, particularly as they have good Korean soups for a very affordable price. They can be a friendly bunch, and the soups in particular, as I said, are definitely worth coming in and trying. "Solo Garden" might sound like the title of a home-made video of what you might do when it's nice outside, and you have high fences around your yard, and you really need some erotic release as well as some fresh air at the same time. However in this case, it has nothing to do with that, and I've specifically graphically asked the owners, and they assure me it has nothing to do with that. There's lots of great Korean food along Long Point Road, and I wish they could make it a little more spicy, the way we like it. Because that's the way, aha, aha, we like it, aha, aha. Thanks for reading my review. I shall now start my new life with dogs and cats (already got the cats) and a family and a white picket fence. I can already imagine looking for a kindergarten for my kids. Actually I think there is only one around here that I would trust to look after my kids. It is the "Sole (Kinder) garten" that I trust. Ba. Dum. Tsh.

This is a houston staple and their lunch special cannot be beat! The ladies there are very nice and the food was great. Weekday lunch is worth the drive out here!!

Yelp
One of my fav kbbq restaurants in Houston! My fav cut of meat is the ribeye. I will say i definitely prefer their beef over pork. The side dishes are always good and they've switched it up every time I've gone!

Yelp
One of the OG Korean restaurants in Spring Branch along Long Point. You'll find it's one of several Korean restaurants in the area! Expect authentic Korean comfort food. I recently returned and was delighted to fill my belly with all the delicious sides, noodles, meats, stew and steamed egg dishes. The service is quick. I gladly let the kitchen staff to cook the meats in their kitchen instead of grilling it myself this time. The galbi and sliced pork belly were my favorite grilled meats. My kid devoured the black bean noodles, or jjajangmyeon; it was a nice balance of savory and sweet. Everyone loved the steamed egg, which came out fluffy and piping hot. Loved how generous they were with the green onion. I would love to find out how they make the salad dressing, because it's so good!

Normally I go to an all you can eat Korean BBQ place but wanted to give this one a try. They were really busy when we walked in. The waitresses were really nice and attentive. They helped us with ordering because we were t sure what to order. We ordered a plate with spicy pork, beef, boneless ribs, and chicken. We cooked it at our own table. Man that chicken was super tender, the spicy pork had great flavor, the huge surprise was the boneless rib meat. So tender, juicy, and flavorful. The beef was only ok. The steamed egg was a tad runny/wet. I thought it good but my husband didn't like it. For our leftovers, we took them home. Something you can't do at an all you can eat place. The orange slices at end were refreshing. Another huge plus was the nice upgraded restrooms. I love a clean restroom!!! I invite everyone to come and give it a try.

Yelp
I have been coming here for years and find the food consistently delicious. The service was great and the staff were extra kind to our kids. The bulgogi and pork belly were cooked well and tasted amazing with the dipping sauce and lettuce salad they provided. Some of the other dishes I enjoy from here are the soondubu jjigae, dolsot bibimbap and kimchi pajeon. I love the ambiance and the water feature at the entrance.

Yelp
This restaurant is super spacious on the inside and even has a wedding hall. However the food is alright at best, though service is quick and attentive. I ordered the dumpling rice cake soup which was actually pretty good, however the dumplings would fall apart when I would try to grasp them with my chopsticks. My friends and I shared a seafood pancake which was very mediocre. It was not crispy and there was little to no seafood in it. We also ordered some pork belly to share which we had them grill in the kitchen for us (so that we wouldn't leave smelling like meat). The meat came out lukewarm to cold and was so fatty it left a greasy feeling in our mouths--we should have just grilled it ourselves. My friend got the mul naengmyeon and it lacked flavor even after adding mustard to it. My other friend got japchae which was actually very good. It had a nice smoky flavor and was very flavorful. Not sure if we will be returning.

Yelp
This is my go to Korean food spot. I have been going here for over a decade. If you want "the" true Korean restaurant experience this is your spot. The kimbop is perfect. My go to dish is the galbi. My personal preference is for them to cook the meat. They have a button to push for any service. It's a fun place to experience.

Yelp
Food is amazing, particularly their boneless beef ribs. We get it every time with sides and are stuffed.

Yelp
Disclaimer: The restaurant is NOT located in Louisiana, but in Houston, Texas -A9 large seafood pancake. -A10 homemade Korean fried pork beef Dumpling. -S2 thin sliced beef brisket, beef Short Rib, Rib eye steak, steam egg/kimchi stew. I'll keep this review simple. The service was superb and fast with the home comfort vibe you would get from your grand parents house. The food.....was A1 ! It may look sketchy on the outside but this hidden gem is so worth going to! What are you waiting for? Go come here now!

Yelp
This is becoming our place to go when we craving Korean bbq. For 2 people, we ordered 3 meat plates with the steam egg side, and we were stuffed! Lesson learn here, 2 meat plates are enough for us. The waitresses were very tentative , making sure we have everything we need.

Yelp
The food was excellent and the service was superb. We were in town celebrating my brother moving to Houston and his first day at his new job.

Yelp
As we walked in my wife slipped and almost fell because they had just washed the floor and didn't put up a wet floor sign (they did so after her slip). The food is standard Korean food, decent but nothing special. The service is basic, they didn't make an effort to remove plates and the table was cluttered. The inside was pretty and the bathroom was clean. No reason to choose this over any other Korean restaurant.

Yelp
Seoul Garden All those Korean dramas on Netflix, especially the period ones always had atleast once scene with a food display, and it was a huge feast. I wondered if people did that and after a long search for a friendly Korean restaurant, found this right here in Houston and oh! So glad it made me. We didn't know what to expect, or if there was any vegetarian either. The outside is made to look a little ethnic, but the inside is a whole new world in itself. A waterfall, a huge wheel, paintings on the wall, soju cocktails (ya.... that was interesting though I did not try any soju as I was heading to work). It was beautiful! The initial seating they gave us had a strong smell of fish, which would make vegetarians like me uncomfortable, but they were kind enough to understand and offer a different exclusive seating far from the kitchen. There was no-one except us there which made it a very special meal, and I did so much appreciate them for accommodating our request. We ordered the tempuras and an entrée with spicy tofu. The tempuras came first, all crispy with all sorts of vegetables and a soya, sesame sauce. Ann took special care to explain each dish and the ingredients that went into them to ensure we understood what we were eating. We were still relishing the tempuras when a kitchen cart arrived with couple of side dishes- oh just like in the dramas I used to watch - it does happen even today! I was exhalted! There was cabbage, watercress, sprouts, tofu, and spiced zucchini. All soo good, I wondered if I would have place for the main dish. Next comes the main dish in a stoneware. We were still working on the tempuras and Ann came in -she did come in many times to check on us and ask if we were ok, if we needed anything, any explanation and so on....a great host! She enquired if we knew how to eat, and saying ," I ill show u", she mixed up all the ingredients in the bowl and showed us the crispy rice at the bottom where the rice sticks to the vessel. She mentioned THAT is the yummiest part, and it was. We were fighting over to get that crispy part of the rice. The stone actually not just keeps the food warm longer, but slowly turn the rice at the bottom into that crispy consistency. Yelp check-ins win a free fish entrée, so Yelp fish lovers, wanting to try this place, take this chance and you will never regret. I loved the whole experience. Can't wait to go back. Kaamsamida! ( thats Thank you right..)

Yelp
Came back here when I visited Houston over the holidays. I love this place so I took my family with me. My siblings liked the all you can eat deal. You get a soup and your first soju is just a $1. I ordered the steamed egg and the soybean paste soup. They were delicious! This place haven't changed! It's still my favorite spot for kbbq!
