There are relatively few non-AYCE Korean BBQ options available in Irvine, which makes this restaurant a convenient choice for me, especially given its close proximity to my home and the lack of wait times, which I greatly appreciate.
I have been a repeat customer since the restaurant opened, and I would like to commend the quality of the meat, which I find to be quite good--arguably better than many comparable establishments in the area. However, I believe there are several critical areas that require improvement. I'm sharing this feedback in the hope that the owners will consider making changes that could help the business thrive. I genuinely enjoy the quality of the meat and would like to continue supporting the restaurant.
Meat Quality and Portion Consistency
The quality of the meat, particularly the Bone-in Short Rib steak, Rib-eye, and brisket, is consistently high. However, portion sizes are notably smaller compared to competitors, and more concerning, they are inconsistent. Even when ordering the same "large combo," the amount of meat varies significantly between visits. This inconsistency is frustrating and undermines the value for price.
Food Quality and Menu Pricing
While the meat is excellent, the rest of the menu does not meet the same standard and fall short. Many of food items are just plain bad or seem overpriced relative to their quality. I understand food preferences are subjective, but based on numerous visits, I feel confident in stating that improvements are utmost needed. On my most recent visit, all the side dishes lacked flavor (EVEN KIMCHI), stews were mediocre at best, and even the dipping sauces tasted diluted. I respectfully suggest reviewing the current kitchen operations and possibly hiring a new cook ASAP.
Climate Control and Dining Comfort
One of the recurring issues is the lack of air conditioning in the dining area. For a restaurant positioned at this price point--where guests often spend around $50 per person--providing a comfortable dining environment should be a must. A properly cooled space enhances the overall experience and reflects the level of professionalism expected at this tier. It also helps reduce the activity of the flying suckers.
I sincerely hope the management will take this feedback into consideration.
