When I went to the JAPANFes. Ramen Contest, I was lucky enough to try the ramen that won second place, it was my favorite at the contest. So, when I found out this place won first place, I knew I had to try it.
Beef Bone Marrow Gyukotsu- The server asked if I would like to add an egg for $2 extra, I said yes. Surprisingly, it was the first time I was asked that when ordering ramen, they usually come with egg. Just by tasting the soup, I could see why this ramen won the contest. I have mixed feelings about it though. The noodles were great, the egg was flavorful, and most of the bowl was very tasty. However, the bone marrow didn't contain much marrow to enjoy, the beef brisket wasn't as tender as I would have liked, and there was way too many garlic slices in the soup. I couldn't enjoy drinking all of the soup because of how many garlic slices there were. Even with only a few sips, I kept biting into garlic. Afterward, I couldn't even get the smell out of my mouth, it was way too strong. ($20)
Overall, I think this place is worth trying at least once because the ramen did taste interesting and different from other ramen places, but just watch out for all the garlic.
