The Best Restaurants In Mystic, Connecticut 2024

"This bakery is famous for a lot of reasons, including the fact that it co-starred in a Hallmark channel movie. But mostly, it’s because this is the best place in town to mainline sweet treats. Get in line (it always moves fast) and use that time to ogle the pastry case. For breakfast, Sift has just about every flavor of croissant, including interesting ones like a cream cheese-filed option topped with everything spice (though we’re partial to the strawberry rhubarb and ham and cheese). You’ll also want a box of their buttery soft cookies—don’t miss the oatmeal blueberry and ginger molasses." - tanya edwards

This place was great! They are right in downtown mystic, and within walking distance from a public parking lot. The line was out the door but moved pretty quickly. The staff were friendly here. The food displayed was amazing just to look at. It was an organized, and perfectly laid out in the cases. So appealing to the eye that you wanted one of everything. The sticky bun was my favorite item I Tate’s but everything we tried was fantastic. The latte I had to compliment it was just as good. I can see why the line here is long, all day long. If you are in Mystic, you need to come here. If you are inside looking, get the sticky bun lol. Your welcome.

We are from PA and I am so glad we stopped in! We grabbed a few pastries for the road and it was well worth it 👌 Highly recommend their savory pastry with the spinach, strawberry rhubarb cheese Danish, and their chocolate croissant! Their brownie was a bit too sweet for me..so I would recommend you take it home and eat it warm with some ice cream! We look forward to visiting this bakery again in the future ❤️

Google
This place absolutely rocks. I was pleasantly surprised by very reasonably priced coffee and the incredible presentation of all the pastries. There’s lots of options so if you don’t have a sweet tooth, you can grab a savory quiche or a sandwich on a fresh baked croissant. There’s usually a line out the door but it’s definitely worth the wait and there’s plenty of seating indoors and outdoors.

Google
We saw this place on social media, and had to stop to check it out. We love bakeries, and this was one of the top bakeries in the area. We soon found out that we weren’t the only ones. There was a huge line of people waiting to go in. It’s a very cute spot, with seats and tables for people to eat in, or just take out. The pastries were delicious, and we definitely will be back whenever we’re around!

Google
Sift is such a cute bakery in the heart of Mystic, and we couldn’t help walking by multiple times because the interior is designed so well! We tried the strawberry rhubarb dessert, which is priced at around $10. It was not too sweet but there wasn’t a strong natural strawberry flavor. We really enjoyed the pistachio later but for the price, we were hoping for fresher and more natural taste. Still yum!

Google
We visited this famous local bakery that has even won a baking award in the U.S. It’s a well-known spot among locals, so we decided to stop by for breakfast. We tried the almond croissant, but the almond cream was a bit too strong for our taste. The Key Lime croissant was also quite sour for morning. My husband had the egg salad croissant, which turned out to be the most enjoyable—it reminded us that a savory option is often best for breakfast. We also tried a macaron, and the flavor was pretty good.Coffee and hot chocolate also great. Overall, it was a fun experience. The desserts are very delicate, and the service was excellent—staff were polite and welcoming. Definitely worth a try if you’re visiting the area. It is a great spot to experience local flavor!

Google
Stopped in for a quick breakfast and coffee and was not disappointed. Had a caramelized white chocolate coffee with a ham & cheese croissant and an oatmeal blueberry cookie. I will be thinking about that cookie forever. The croissant was buttery and delicious and the coffee was delicious too! The employees were all friendly & we had a perfect spot to sit in outside

Google
I adored everything about this place. I arrived around 9:45am and there was a bit of a line in total I waited about 25 minutes to get inside. It is helpful to look at the menus while in line and know what you want once inside the bake shop. I had the strawberry rhubarb croissant a French toast flavored ice coffee and a macaroon and ginger and molasses cookie to go. The croissant and coffee were delicious and flavorful and were perfect for my walk around town. The inside of the establishment is clean and well decorated the staff are extremely friendly and pack everything beautifully. Later in the day I had my cookies and they were flavorful the ginger and molasses was listed as gluten friendly. This is a must try place if in mystic. I wanted to see the rooftop but it was closed for a private event.

Yelp
Sift Bake Shop is a phenomenal spot for grab and go breakfast. We recently visited the area and went two out of three days. They have a wide range of delicious pastries, a full counter of macarons and some breakfast sandwiches. They also have a full service coffee bar. In addition, you can buy different bread varieties by the half or full loaf. Between the two visits, we tried so many different things it felt like we sampled half of the store -- dulce croissant, hazelnut praline croissant, chocolate croissant, ham & cheese croissant, ebbieoche, blueberry muffin, ham quiche, chive egg frittata sandwich, carrot cake roulade, salted caramel macaron, caramel apple macaron. They package it all up immaculately and lavish-looking. The only slight downside is there's not a whole lot of seating in the bakery -- maybe three small high-top circular tables and a few seats at a random corner bar top. There is some patio seating for when the weather is nice. Aside from the Mystic location, Sift has bake shops in Niantic, Mohegan Sun and Watch Hill. If you find yourself near any of these locations, you should check it out!

Yelp
Sift Bake Shop in Mystic, Connecticut, is a must-visit for anyone with a passion for baked goods, a love for French-inspired patisserie, or simply a sweet tooth in search of something truly extraordinary. It combines rustic New England charm with European elegance, both in its ambiance and its offerings. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by the warm aroma of fresh pastries and the sight of meticulously crafted treats displayed like edible art. One standout is the almond croissant, perfectly flaky with a rich, nutty filling that isn't overly sweet, letting the quality of the ingredients shine through. They have a rainbow of macarons available, with a wide assortment of flavors! The atmosphere at Sift is warm and inviting, with a bright interior and outdoor seating that offers a relaxing spot to enjoy a coffee and a pastry (or two!) Overall, Sift Bake Shop is a treat for the senses and a place that makes Mystic an even sweeter destination.

Yelp
I probably had the best croissant I've had in a long time here. So can definitely recommend the croissants! My partner ordered a Danish tart which was also delicious. I was told that there can be lines here so be warned and time appropriately! We happened to stop by here late morning on a Monday and it wasn't busy at all. The place is lovely too and in a great location. I just wish I could've saved room for those delicious looking desserts

Yelp
Cute bakery in Mystic that seems to be a must-stop location for locals and tourists! Waited about 15-20 minutes in line outside but weather and vibes were nice. Lots of seating inside and outside. Ordered the pecan sticky bun and maple vanilla latte. The sticky bun was large enough to share and was perfectly flaky and chewy. Our group took our treats to the waterfront and ate on a bench and saw the bridge rise!

Yelp
Really great bakery. There are spots in front and the surrounding streets. Two separate entries. There is seating inside and outside. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The bakery inside was spotless. They definitely take care of it. Sunday brunch buffet from 10AM to 2PM on the rooftop. The food was very good. I especially like the Sea Salt Walnut Chocolate Chip Cookie. It was very soft and the mix of sweet and savory hit the spot. The macaroons were also very good. We got a variety. My favorite was the Funfetti.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious baked goods open for a long time during the day which is unusual for a bakery. I got the chocolate chip walnut cookie and the pecan sticky bun, which were both great. I particularly liked the sticky bun. It's probably best if you come a bit earlier in the day when the baked goods are fresh and warm.

Yelp
Last night we noticed the building the bakery is in. My boyfriend looked it up to see what it was. After checking out their IG page, we knew we were coming here this morning! They had me at almond croissants! We got there around 9am. There we only two people in one outside, ahead of us. Not bad at all. The bakery is absolutely beautiful! Every single detail is just perfect! I enjoyed an almond croissant (it's stuffed!) and an iced coffee while my boyfriend had a pecan sticky bun and a hot coffee. We sat inside at a high top table. I was in heaven!

Yelp
This place came highly recommended. I got a pumpkin cheese cake, macaroons, and the raspberry chocolate croissant. The only let down was the croissant. It wasn't moist or anything just tasted average. The macaroons and cheesecake were unique and yummy. The staff was kind and helpful. The ambiance of the restaurant is spacious and has cute tables outside. They have this awkward bar sitting area in the inside corner. I would replace that with more tables by the window.

Yelp
I tried a new apple pastry and it was amazing. The service here is excellent. The food quality as super. It's always consistent. Atmosphere is very relaxing.

Yelp
For me, a trip to Mystic isn't complete without a visit to Sift! Their granola is delicious and it's a nice gift to bring back for family and friends. This trip I tried the lemon streusel croissant, oatmeal blueberry cookie, 4-way brownie and key lime cheesecake. The cookie was similar to an oatmeal raisin cookie, but I really liked the fact that they used blueberries instead of raisins in their rendition. The croissant swirl with lemon curd and streusel topping was tasty however, I didn't feel there was enough lemon and would have definitely preferred had the lemon been also included in between the layers of the spiral. The Key lime cheesecake was beautiful and tasted very good. I felt the white chocolate took away from the Key lime flavor and wasn't really necessary, but even so I enjoyed the dessert. The brownie was chocolatey and rich, and tasted like butter. I wouldn't say it was the best brownie I've ever had, but it was very enjoyable. I also ordered an iced coffee and it was fine, but nothing to write home about. It was convenient to be able to order iced coffee along with breakfast pastries and they had some interesting flavor syrups. The one I tried was caramelized white chocolate and it made the coffee sweet, but the flavor wasn't that pronounced.

Yelp
Very cute bakery! Came here with a friend on a Friday evening and had to wait outside before entering. There is a HUGE selection of baked goods from fresh cookies, cakes, macarons, and all flavors of croissants like chocolate, ham & cheese, strawberry rhubarb, everything bagel, and more. I got the Chocolate Chip Cookie, Blueberry Oatmeal Cookie, Blueberry Scone, Almond Croissant, Chocolate Croissant, and macarons (chocolate, strawberry champagne, vanilla bean, pistachio, yuzu). The total came out to be ~$36 which isn't bad considering the variety and huge portions of each item. The Chocolate chip cookie was amazing. It had the perfect texture of a crispy exterior and soft and chewy interior. It wasn't too sweet, and the ratio of chocolate chunks to cookie was perfect. The Blueberry oatmeal cookie soft and chewy with a hint of cinnamon. I really enjoyed the Blueberry scone; it was incredibly soft and buttery but very little blueberries (~4 in the entire scone) which was really disappointing. The Almond croissant was filled with almond fresh cream and huge in portion, but overall very heavy and probably wouldn't get again. The Chocolate croissant was soft but and lined with chocolate. It's what you would expect it to be, a good classic but nothing super unique. The macarons were decent overall. The Strawberry champagne macaron lacked any champagne favor but strawberry was really nice and smooth. The Vanilla bean macaron one was verrrrry sweet. Pistachio was good, Chocolate was very chocolatey, and Yuzu had a very strong yuzu flavor. After trying a variety from this bakery, I would say to definitely come and try it out! Everything is freshly baked, and the staff are very friendly and helpful as well. My favorite was definitely the chocolate chip cookie. I regret not trying the cakes because they looked absolutely wonderful as well!

Yelp
I really loved this place the 2 times we have been there before but this past time we were very underwhelmed. They were short staffed and the wait was much longer than usual. The pastries all seemed overcooked and way darker than usual. The cake/dessert case was not even 1/2 full and very disappointing - I really think these desserts are their shining stars and it was a big miss this time. We ordered 8 macaroons and she handed them to me in a bag - very strange to put macaroons, which are delicate in a bag. Also, the 3 desserts I ordered were in a big box and by the time we got them home they were mangled a bit together :( They should really figure out better packaging options.

Yelp
Beautiful bake shop very hard to choose what to eat with so many varieties of croissants and all of the savory options as well. Chose the ham and cheddar quiche and it was wonderful. Had a maple latte which was well done as well. Great fast efficient service and very clean inside they have three locations overall and pastry chef was on food network.

Yelp
It was rainy/cold and the line was out the door. I stood in the line. Why? Sift was named the best bakery in Connecticut on a list I read. If I was in Mystic how could I not check out Sift?! I left my husband at the brewery and I hit the bakery. Perfect! My issue: The line doesn't allow for you to review the menu or look at the items. When it's your turn with an employee I feel like I am wasting their time as I review everything and they have a long line. I guess one would think I stood in line, now it's my time but I think about efficiency of a business and could there be a better way? (Note: I am also not aware just how often there is a line outside but I assume often enough.) Clean facility with a good amount of tables but as you can guess, not an open seat but it was late on a Saturday afternoon and the downtown area was lively! I walked out with a croissant (I usually cannot say no to a croissant), a chocolate sea salt cookie, 2 macarons and a blueberry iced green tea with vanilla. It's a good croissant! Not the best but good. Soft and flaky. I would have this gain but not stand in the cold/rain for it. The cookie- would like it gooey but it was flavorful. The macarons- I cannot speak rate as each kid gobbled them down quickly with no complaints. The blueberry iced green tea with vanilla- it had too much going on and was more vanilla than anything which isn't totally my jam. True score: 3.75

Yelp
This is probably white noise based on the glowing reviews from the folks who worked in nearby restaurants and the visitor center who recommended it, but this was one of the best bakeries I've been to, and, as a bona fried (pun-ishingly true) fat guy, I've eaten at more bakeries than your average fellow. The pecan sticky bun was a standout among a successful order of five top-of-their-class desserts: blueberry cookie, key lime cheesecake, brownie, millionaire's chocolate tart, and the aforementioned sticky bun, plus an iced coffee to help me make the drive home. We also grabbed some pastries for our breakfast tomorrow and cookies for family. The staff was very kind and engaging, and the ambiance of the inside was fantastic (apart from an occasional fruit fly). The deck looked equally charming, but we don't typically sit outside.
google avatar

Denise G.

Yelp
This place has a great selection of high quality baked goods! They also have 3 gluten free options: chocolate chip cookie, molasses cookie, and macarons (different flavors). The staff is attentive and polite.
google avatar

Yelp
We always say that no visit to Mystic is complete without a trip to Sift! At almost any point in the day, there will be a line out the door, but it's well worth the wait, and it usually moves quickly! Our go-to items are the macarons and croissants, but they have some really decadent pastries that we treat ourselves to sometimes as well. Already looking forward to my next visit!
google avatar

Kaitlin R.

Yelp
The line was out the door so expectations were high off the bat. Service was quick and friendly. Once I got inside and the atmosphere was nice to look at and clean. Unfortunately I wasn't overly impressed with the spinach artichoke croissant. It definitely wasn't bad. I just wouldn't wait in line again for it. I heard good things from those in my party about the brownies and some of the cookies though, so maybe it's just their savory items that aren't my thing.

Peter D.

Yelp
Sift is overpriced and bourgeois with long lines of tourists for some reason. Their counterpart Young Buns Donuts was amazing, but they shut them down for some reason. The gluten free donuts at Young Buns were the best in the state! Sift has some mediocre cookies for those with gluten intolerances, but not much else to offer.
google avatar

Emma D.

Yelp
Never seen such gorgeous pastries and desserts in my life! I wanted one of everything but decided to get a cinnamon sugar ebbieoche, chocolate croissant and raspberry chocolate croissant. The flaky layers were everything you could ask for in a croissant. The chocolate and raspberry complimented each other without overpowering the buttery flavor. The cinnamon sugar ebbieoche was light and melted in your mouth with the sweetness. Despite it being early on a Wednesday morning, there was a line. It moved quickly and was well worth it. I would recommend going during the week because I could only imagine how crowded it is on the weekends. There is indoor and outdoor tables if you'd like to enjoy your coffee and a warmed up pastry there. I will definitely be back to try more!

Greg H.

Yelp
Change is not always good. Please change back to your previous recipes - the cookies are much denser and harder. Even more dramatic - the new Guava and Cheese Danish are a step below their former glory. Where before the delicately folded versions of the danish were light and flavorful, the enlarged discus danish now is a clumsy, bulky ring of dough with the cheese and guava background to it all. We've been fans ever since Mystic opened and (maybe our error letting the cat out of the bag), have recommended Sift to countless people - this latest visit was somewhat disappointing after so many great ones.

Yelp
Mystic is such a cute coastal town & having this bake shop in the heart of downtown is the best thing ever. my friends & i really enjoyed everything about it. the food, the drink/coffee options, the cleanliness, the ambiance, the friendliness of the staff, the desserts, etc. it was my first time here, and i can confidently say it won't be my last. i had the roasted turkey sandwich on a croissant and a lemonade... it was YUMMY!! the lemonade was a bit too sweet for me, but nonetheless, it was good. there is indoor and outdoor seating, which i love and we opted to sit outside, as the weather thankfully permitted. I can't wait to come back!!

Alan K.

Yelp
Food is just alright but the presentation is what this place is good at! The line moves pretty fast despite how long it is, like if you are down the stairs you will get in like 3mins.
google avatar

Monica W.

Yelp
Delicious pastries! Beautiful modern decor. Loved the pecan bun, raspberry croissant, and macarons!
google avatar

Rooty T.

Yelp
Sift bake shop is a busy restaurant that specializes in desserts. The line usually runs down the sidewalk, but typically moves quickly. My most recent visit included chocolate chip cookies, molasses, cookies, and other items, but they have a large variety of desserts to choose from.
google avatar

Iris H.

Yelp
What an amazing shop! The service is great, the pastries and their sandwiches are delightful. I enjoyed a decaf latte as well which was solid. The shop reminds me of a French patisserie as it's tiled, light colors and beautiful display cases. Overall, if you're looking for a place with beautiful delicious pastries and desserts, I highly recommend you stop in for a bite!
google avatar

Yelp
Sift Bake Shop was recommended to me by a friend. Sift Bake Shop is a French inspired bakery located in historic downtown Mystic, CT. The bakery is very inviting and bright. There are displays of all different kinds of pastries like cookies, desserts, and croissants. There was a little bit of a queue, but it moved quickly. We had a hard time choosing what to purchase, everything looked so good. The staff were very patient while we decided. We settled on 1 Chocolate Walnut Sea Salt cookie for $3.50, 1 White Chocolate Macadamia cookie for $3.50, 1 Carrot Cake Roulade for $7.00, and 12 Macarons for $30.00. We had some of our treats at one of the high top tables in the bakery. There are also a few tables outside. Everything was delicious and worth the price. I would definitely come back to Sift Bake Shop.

Yelp
We went on a little adventure to Mystic, CT a couple weeks ago and Sift Bake Shop was on my list of places to try so we made a point of checking it out. We arrived on a Saturday morning and the line to get in to order was down the sidewalk. My partner wasn't thrilled with the idea of waiting, but I convinced him to just get in line and see if it moves quickly....and it did. Every time someone walked out the exit door the next person went in. There was still a line once you entered, but they are very efficient getting the orders out. We ordered a hot coffee, an iced latte, an almond croissant and a pecan roll. We took our order up on the rooftop deck to enjoy the beautiful day and view. Our beverages were fine, the almond croissant was just ok (I'm not sure why I didn't get a picture of it). The almond croissant was filled with whipped cream and a sprinkle of almonds on it, I'm used to almond croissants having an almond filling and this didn't and the whipped cream just didn't take the place. The pecan roll was amazing (I'm so thankful we' decided beforehand to split our trays). The bakery was definitely one of the nicest bakeries I've ever been in. It was sparkling clean and everything was displayed beautifully. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I only had one issue...the electrician working in there. This guy was running wires above the ceiling tiles and was setting up and moving his ladder in the middle of the customers waiting in line and other spots throughout the bakery. I have no idea why he was there on a busy Saturday morning. We loved the bakery and will visit next time we're in Mystic.

Yelp
Omg this place was so crowded and I can tell why! This place is nestled on a side street near Mystic Seaport. It's so cute inside! You walk in and you're greeted by so many pastries, desserts, sandwiches, and salads! The staff run this place like a well oiled machine. I got an oatmeal blueberry cookie and an everything croissant. The COOKIES WAS RHE BEST COOKIE I'VE PROBABLY EVER PUT IN MY MOUTH. It was soft and chewy with the blueberries coming through just enough. It wasn't overly sweet neither. Even eating it the next day, it was still so soft. The everything croissant was the incredible. The croissant was cooked well and the seasoning was just enough that made it a breakfast dream. You can tell the dough was nicely laminated before baking. It had a great golden finish. I know if I had my favorite Belgium butter that I would have been in heaven. Overall, I highly recommend!!!

Miranda W.

Yelp
Such a cute spot! We got coffee and the chocolate walnut sea salt cookie. So good! They have tons of pastries and some lunch items. Be prepared to wait a little bit, it was pretty busy!

Annette H.

Yelp
Lovely pastries and friendly staff! We love the pecan roll and the blueberry cookie. Wish they would make the cheese bread a regular menu item! This time the pecan roll was dry and not as tasty as usual, therefore the 3 stars instead of four

Yelp
#ThisFeedsMySoul - Status Conferred Ham Quiche Creamy with good size chunks of ham all throughout. Pastry tart crust was flaky and buttery. Excellent quiche that is packed full of meat and cheese just the way I like it. Pumpkin White Chocolate Cheesecake First off, it looks like a work of art. All of the desserts do. Creamy cheesecake, with a mild pumpkin flavor. I would've loved more pumpkin. Candied pecans on top were a delicious touch. Location It's a downtown Mystic favorite in the summer expect long lines and a long wait time the later in the morning you go. Off season you can get in and out in a jiff. Staff are friendly.
google avatar

Deane P.

Yelp
I had the lemon scone that did not have any lemon flavor. I also had the raspberry Con-fusion which was excellent. Wife had the spinach artichoke croissant and a plain croissant which were good. Prices were fair. We shared some Macarons which were ok.
google avatar

Toby P.

Yelp
Sift is one of the best bakeries you can visit. From the delicious croissants (personally the Chocolate Raspberry is my favorite sweet option while the ham and cheese is my favorite savory option) - the various options of cookies, brownies, macrons, sandwiches and more - there isn't a bad option. While the line can get long at times, the staff is quick (though giving plenty of time to look and decide) and friendly - don't forget to grab a drink. The Arnold Palmer is my go-to unless it's cold out and then I have to recommend hot chocolate! Laid back with plenty of seating - you'll find a reason to visit again.

Yelp
Adorable bakery/cafe in the heart of Mystic! You can tell they are used to having long lines because they are well staffed and keep the line moving very efficiently. They carry a variety of baked goods, as well as some pre-made sandwiches and salads. We tried the bacon, egg & cheese croissant, lemon tart, chocolate chip cookie, and an assortment of macarons. The lemon tart was so light and refreshing on a hot day. LOVED the massive chocolate chip cookies as well. They have ample sitting indoors and outdoors. It's a great spot to grab an iced coffee and catch up with a friend over some baked goods!

Yelp
Weekend trip to Mystic and we knew we had to come to Sift Bake Shop for pastries given the stellar reviews. No line when we got there on a rainy Saturday morning. As for pastries, we got the Three Cheese Focaccia and Guava Cheese Danish, as well as a hot coffee. We got the half size focaccia and we were so glad we did because it was already pretty large. Loved how fluffy and flavorful it was with the swiss, parmesan, and ricotta. The Guava Cheese Danish was also very good in terms of flavor, but I would have liked to see more filling inside. The rest of their pastries and desserts looked very appetizing as well, would definitely add to your Mystic list!
google avatar

Yelp
This is my first time and we went for lunch. I had chicken salad sandwich on croissant and freshly made lemonade. For dessert, I had key lime cheesecake with white chocolate glaze. The bakery was full of many more treats. The place was hopping and had very nice staff to attend to our order. My friend had the mushroom quiche which was divine. We will go back again.
google avatar

Anju P.

Yelp
Being located in Mystic downtown, this place is always crowded. Expect to stand in a line, even when you are here to pick up an order that is ready. The good thing is that the line moves pretty fast as they have several employees to serve the customers. This bakery is probably the most popular in Connecticut and their baked goods (croissants, cakes) are excellent. They offer diary free milk options for coffee/tea. Note: I still prefer the other location in Niantic that is less crowded but with better water views, although the food/baked items available are exactly the same.

Yelp
Sift Bake Shop was on our "must visit" list after they were voted in the top 100 in the country for their chocolate chip cookies. We arrived to find a line out the door. It is a charming and delightful space, clean and well organized and the staff were very patient and friendly. They have a variety of delectable looking baked items (breads, pastries, scones, brownies, more) as well as sandwiches, salads, quiches and more. We left there with more than just the chocolate cups cookies we came to sample: ham & cheese croissants, strawberry rhubarb croissant, blueberry and cheese croissant, carrot cake roulade, 4 way brownies). All we had was fresh tasting and delicious! You can take your items to go or stay and eat inside or out. Restrooms were clean and well kept. Free on street parking if you can find it. I recommend a visit and guarantee you will not leave empty handed.

Yelp
I have to say, Sift is definitely worth the hype. And the wait...the very long wait... We were recently in Mystic for a few days, and had decided one of the days to get pastries from Sift for breakfast. But every time we drove by, the line was out the door and down the block, which both underscored our desire to get those pastries (which obviously everyone else also wanted), and deterred us from getting them until our very last day. But on our last full day I insisted we suck it up and wait in the line. But I thought, let's go later in the day when it's less likely to be so busy... Well, we chose 1 pm to visit, and there was STILL a line out the door and down the block. We waited 40 min just to get inside, and then were both overwhelmed and dismayed to see the huge interior display mostly empty, but yet there were still lots of interesting things. We got 4 fancy desserts plus veggie scones, veggie danishes, veggie croissants, and a couple plain croissants. Not exactly what I had planned, but anyway, a nice variety and several things we thought seemed interesting. We took them home and put them in the fridge; then the next day gently warmed up the scone, croissants and veggie pastries in the microwave, just to take the chill off and soften up the butter. Everything was scrumptious!! We saved the fancy desserts for that night, when we wanted some sweets while watching movies. They did not need warming up and were still fresh with great texture and taste, more than 24 hrs after buying them. Next time, we will get in the line much earlier so we can have a better selection to choose from, no matter the wait time.

Yelp
Charming bake shop in Mystic that usually has a line out the door. Beautiful executed dessert items and yummy hot chocolate. Worth the trip!

Yelp
Please open a location in Tucson AZ! I promise to come every single day! The bakery at Sift is stunningly beautiful. It is not horribly overpriced. It tastes delicious. The seating area is cozy, but pleasant. What's not to like?! We ordered quite a tasting assortment, but I focused on the pecan sticky bun, which you can kinda see at the very bottom of the 2nd photo below. Omigawd, it was so good. It was not massively huge, which I was grateful for. The croissants here are really a work of art. Come for the art show... Oh, the staff here is really wonderful - super friendly and helpful. Hard to find places these days where the people behind the counter are so perky and nice.

Yelp
Located in such a cute area of mystic, I can see why this bakery is a favorite! It is so clean and cute inside and the baristas were very helpful. To eat: -chocolate croissant: okay but kind of dry -blueberry and cheese crossiant-delicious! -vegetable crossiant-my favorite it was buttery and mom moist and had tons of veggies and feta cheese -ham and cheese croissant- very yummy ask to heat it up -chocolate chip cookies- HUGE soft and filled with chocolate chips -bacon corn jalapeño sour dough-delicious flavor the bacon really comes out! Great toasted with butter -party macaroons- just okay, overwhelming lemon flavor that I wasn't expecting. For coffee I tried the peanut butter truffle iced latte. It had an overwhelming peanut butter taste, it wasn't for me. They gladly switched it out for a plain iced coffee which was great!

Yelp
Yes. Yes. Yes! Last week, I traveled to Mystic for four days and, three of the four days were spent having breakfast at Sift. Staff were friendly. The place was clean as was the restroom. Each day, I purchased a large tea and the Cinnamon Sugar Ebbieoche which cost $4.50. Slightly warmed for me, it was just beyond delicious!! I bought some to take home with me. The only downside was they were out of English Breakfast and Darjeeling tea. I will dream of the Cinnamon Sugar Ebbieoche for days to come.

Yelp
This place is worth the hype and an obsession in my family, we stop here every time we are in or passing through Mystic. There's always a line so expect to wait, they take your order at the door and you pay at the end. Favorites are the everything croissant, guava cheese danish, almond croissant, and pecan roll. There's ample seating both indoors and outdoors, the location is bright and cheerful. Everything here is delicious l!!!!

Yelp
Traveled to mystic with my European friend, and she said Sift Bake Shop's pastries are comparable to the ones she used to eat in France. Their almond and chocolate croissants taste like heaven on your tongue. I've never had such an amazing breakfast experience before. Every bite was mouth watering and left you wanting more. Service was good, the atmosphere was super cute. Definitely will be going back before the end of our trip!!!

Yelp
All the drinks (hot coffee, tea and chocolate drinks) we had were delicious. Took them to go. The service was quick although there was a long line. The pastries were beautiful although we didnt get any this time (we were too stuffed from lunch earlier). French vibes inside and out.

Yelp
I must preface--I don't do lines. If a line is long, forget it. Plus places like that in my experience are usually overrated, overhyped on social media, and usually not as good as everyone says. Well color me WRONG in this case. Sift is fantastic! The line wasn't too bad when I got there so I thought "eh what the heck". They have so many delectable pastries, desserts, savory items. The pastries are HUGE. You could easily split one w/ someone. On my visit I got the ham and cheese quiche which was delicious and an iced cappuccino which was good. I also got the key lime cheesecake to have for dessert later. It was divine! I would absolutely go back to try more items. It is worth waiting in line. They are very well staffed and the line goes quickly. The staff is very friendly and efficient too.

Yelp
Mystic is a charming town with nostalgic New England vibes and gorgeous views. What better to pair with this picturesque town than a picturesque pastry in a quaint, delicious, convenient bakery? On a recent road trip up the East Coast, I decided to detour into Mystic for bathroom break and some leg stretches. I mean, who could resist this postcard town, especially at sunset? On my trot to the public town restrooms, I passed Sift, and I decided it was worth a stop. I was headed to visit friends, and what better gift than that of sweet and savory carbohydrates? For starters, I was THRILLED that Sift was open at 6:30pm on a Thursday. My biggest whine about most coffee shops and bakeries is their tendency to close after 3pm. I get a late night sweet tooth, and I get hangry when my options are limited. The pastries in Sift were simply BEAUTIFUL! They didn't even look REAL. I opted for a giant Pumpkin Pie croissant, a Guava and Cheese danish, and a big-as-your-head chocolate chip cookie. I was prepared to shell out a pretty penny, but the total only came to $12?!? Maybe I'm jaded by inflation and city prices, but I thought that was a steal for how big, tasty, and beautifully made these pastries were. The pumpkin pie croissant was the perfect trifecta of soft, flaky, and crunchy. I'm not sure how their baker perfected this majestic treat, but after just one bite, I was suddenly wearing flannel and Ugg boots. The Guava and Cheese danish was a big hit - I loved the unique combo of flavors with the tangy guava and the creamy cheese. The cookie was a slam dunk, a home run, a....touchdown? I mean where else can you find a cookie that is as tasty as it is impressive in size. This thing was MASSIVE. We shared it among 4 people. According to their sweet little carrying bag, they have a two other locations. With products like this and hours that cater to the early birds AND the night owls, what more could you want?? They had indoor and outdoor seating and impressive arrangement of countless sweet and savory treats, breads, and espresso beverages. Sift is a treat worth indulging in - it's worth every little calorie.
