"Nasim Alikhani has reopened Sofreh Cafe three years after closing the original; this time, it’s a solo project right across the street from its sibling Iranian restaurant, Sofreh. The restaurant is serving items like tahini date banana bread, milk bread with nigella seeds, bereshtook (made with chickpea flour and Valrhona chocolate), and cardamom cake with rose, in addition to savory items like an herb-filled frittata. An expanded menu for breakfast and lunch will soon follow." - Eater Staff, Melissa McCart
"Sofreh fans, listen up: Sofreh Cafe has reopened a block away from the Persian restaurant, and it's where you should go if you can't justify a visit to Sofreh every single evening. Swing by for a chai and a piroshki with braised beef to go, or take a seat for some koukou sabzi and tahini date banana bread. They'll be building out their kitchen and expanding the menu in the coming months." - will hartman
"A Persian restaurant with dishes like Dried Lime & Herb Beef Stew and Pomegranate Beef Ribeye Kebab, featuring a terrace dining area." - Alexis Benveniste
"Sofreh Cafe is a Persian bakery and daytime cafe in Park Slope, and anyone who wishes they could go to Sofreh every night but knows it might be a financially irresponsible decision is probably already a regular here. Just like the restaurant, which is a block away, Sofreh Cafe is a simple space, and the most colorful thing is the pink petals on top of the cake yazdi, so it’s good for a pastry and a deep breath. Grab a table with a friend for some koukou sabzi and tahini date banana bread, or pick up a chai–add the cardamom syrup–and a piroshki goosht for the road. It's stuffed with cumin-y braised beef, and though it's big enough to share, we'd recommend just getting your own. photo credit: Sofreh Cafe" - Willa Moore
"Sofreh Cafe opened in 2021 in Bushwick selling pastries laced with rosewater, studded with pistachios, and sprinkled with cardamom. A short-lived project that closed a couple of months later, it has just reopened at the Prospect Heights and Park Slope border, near Barclays Center — across from the street from its sibling Iranian restaurant, Sofreh, owned by Nasim Alikhani, known for its Persian dishes that caught the attention of the James Beard Awards this year." - Emma Orlow
