NYC’s New Restaurant Openings - New York - The Infatuation

"A Mexican chef and French pastry chef are, naturally, tackling French/Mexican fusion. At Sol Et Soleil in East Williamsburg, the tacos are topped with duck confit, and the steak is served “au mole” style with fingerling potatoes and haricots verts. Stop by for brunch, and you can get some tres leches french toast or chilaquiles with crème fraîche and avocado mousse." - will hartman, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah, bryan kim

Radio Bakery, From Rolo’s Team, Is Open in Greenpoint | Eater NY

"At a Bushwick Mexican restaurant that first opened in 2017, a summertime seafood series called Mariscos del Sol will present a rotating menu of mariscos—Mexican seafood dishes like aguachiles—led by chef-DJ Piero Cespedes; it's happening every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. through September, according to Cespedes." - Emma Orlow

Google
very cute spot in bushwick and has an intimate feel. we tried a few dishes and enjoyed the presentation of the dishes and how creative the menu was in blending mexican and french. we really enjoyed the bread with butter and the brown butter veloute that came with the cod. however, giving food 3 stars because i got the cod and it was a bit undercooked and red on the inside but the staff was very helpful and were able to take it back to the kitchen.

I came across a TikTok someone had made highlighting this restaurant, and the story of its owners falling in love over crafting food was enough for me to want to pay them a visit. It’s a very cozy establishment, so don’t expect the largest restaurant on the block. It’s warm and well-lit, and you will quickly realize the owner-couple are the only staff. From what little could be seen of the kitchen from our seats at a table for 4, everything was very clean and well-prepped. We arrived at 7:30 and left at 9:45. We went on to order almost the entire menu (everything aside from the steak and burger). Each dish came out 5-10 minutes after another, and I had asked for ~20-25 minutes in between each round of courses (starters to entrees to dessert). Everything was incredible, from start to finish. You cannot go wrong with any menu item. The Chismosa drink felt like biting into a perfect citrus. The goat cheese, beat and citrus salad was refreshing and clean. As someone who’s not a big fan of sashimi/raw fish, the tuna tartare on the tostadas was lovely. The duck tacos were beautifully smooth and comforting to bite into, and the cod melted in your mouth. We could not get enough of the sauce it was in. The esquites au gratin is nothing like I’ve ever had before and we were scraping the sides of the bowl for more. If the dinner wasn’t already stellar, their three desserts are incredible fun takes on classics. The creme brûlée is not too sweet, and you can tell it’s infused with corn. The chocolate mousse was one of the best things I’ve ever had in the city, with this spicy sweet caramel to dip into. The owners both came out to serve us and were just so lovely to chat with. They both clearly have given their all to this business, and you can taste the love in every bite. I will definitely be back to try the brunch menu. Cannot recommend enough!

So glad I stumbled upon this place for brunch! The food and service here are incredible. The little back patio is super cute and dog friendly when it’s not busy. We got the steak and eggs. And the Huevos Simples, both were so good and the streak was perfectly cooked. If you save room for dessert the crème brûlée is to die for. Highly recommend this place!

Writing this as I’m sitting here finishing up. This place is amazing. I got the burger with a side salad and the esquites gratin. The cherry tomatoes in the salad were unbelievably good, the burger was perfectly cooked, and the gratin was topped with this broiled slice of cheese that was so fun. Everyone should go here. My one suggestion is that the gratin was a touch too salty. Otherwise amazing food amazing service.

Not a single miss from this spot! It is cozy with the most friendly staff. We almost got the entire menu. For starters, loved the tuna tostada and salad. The tortilla was so flavorful and the salad was tangy and bright. For mains, you have to get the tacos. They were so unique! The steak was so tender and warm with the mole sauce. The chocolate mousse for dessert is a must. Its so decadent and the spicy caramel added a special touch. Can’t wait to go back to try their cocktails and the rest of the menu!

Went here last week on my way home from work and instantly fell in love. The food was so good I ordered a second entrée—no regrets. The fish was incredibly fresh and perfectly breaded, and the steak mole? Absolutely to-die-for. I also had the chance to meet the two young owners behind the place—super kind and clearly passionate. It’s a beautiful blend of Mexican and French influences, a tribute to their respective backgrounds, and they absolutely nailed it. Brooklyn needs more spots like this. I can’t wait to go back.

Really great meal and experience. My friend and I went for Sunday brunch and ordered the chilaquiles and steak/eggs. The tortillas were very fresh and the red sofrito sauce tasted so good. The steak was seasoned perfectly. Right amount of salt. The meat was super tender and cooked perfectly. The only thing I wasn’t feeling were the fingerling potatoes that came with the steak eggs. Kind of hard potatoey. Maybe it’s not my preference. The service and atmosphere were great. The French co-owner who does front of the house is super sweet and fun to talk to. And the decoration inside is really nice. Comfortable cute bar too. I’ll be back for the dinner menu!

Just had an unforgettable meal at the newly opened French and Mexican fusion spot — and let me tell you, there was no miss. Every dish was thoughtful, bold, and beautifully executed. The steak? Easily one of the best I’ve had in a long time — perfectly cooked, packed with flavor, and plated with finesse. And the dessert? Absolutely out of this world. A true showstopper. I had the chance to chat with the chefs/owners, and you can genuinely feel their passion in every bite. They’ve created something really special here — can’t wait to come back.
