"This Filipino restaurant (originally from Silver Lake) goes the whole hog on, well, hog. The pork shines differently in every dish, like lechon kawali fried to a crisp, or adobo pork belly slow-cooked with soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic. The star of the show, and Spoon & Pork’s signature dish, is the deep-fried patita, a massive hunk of meat glazed in garlic vinegar and served over jasmine rice. It’s big enough for two—even if that “two” is just you and yourself." - brant cox, sylvio martins, arden shore
"Spoon & Pork was inspired by chefs and friends Raymond Yaptinchay and Jay Tuga’s street food-fueled childhood in the Philippines. The menu pays homage to Pinoy comfort foods including sisig with Duroc pork jowl and a slow-cooked fried pork shank." - Matthew Kang, Mona Holmes
"Recipes for Filipino chori (short for chorizo pudpud) and chicken inasal from chef Ray Yaptinchay’s mother-in-law, Maria Alvarez Nierras, have inspired two of Spoon & Pork’s most memorable dishes. While Nierras’s chori is usually paired with rice, egg, and vinegar, the chef’s version is served on a bed of garlic rice with tomatoes, pickled onions, Fresno chile peppers, and a sunny-side-up egg. For the grilled chicken inasal, which is a specialty from Nierras’s hometown of Bacolod, the chef uses bone-in chicken marinated with cane vinegar and calamansi juice. He tweaks Nierras’s recipe slightly by swapping fresh garlic for granulated, and Filipino lemongrass (tanglad) for a local variety." - Jean Trinh
"Between chorizo burgers, pork belly bánh mì, and slow-roasted pork shank, this Filipino restaurant (originally from Silver Lake) goes the whole hog on, well, hog. The decadent protein shines differently in every dish, like lechon kawali fried to a crisp, or pork adobo cooked slowly with soy sauce, vinegar, and garlic. The star of the show, and Spoon & Pork’s signature dish, is the deep-fried patita, a massive hunk of meat doused in garlic vinegar and served over jasmine rice. It’s big enough for two—even if that “two” is just you and yourself." - Kat Hong
