Laid-back eatery offering Detroit-style pizzas, sandwiches & salads, plus outdoor dining.
"Our favorite SF spot for Detroit-style pizza just opened its first location in the East Bay. You can find their crispy, cheesy square pizzas in Old Oakland, where they’re serving the same menu as their original location in SoMa. You can get your pies topped with everything from pepperoni to bacon and tomatoes to a mushroom medley - just be sure to get their trio of excellent dipping sauces (ranch, cilantro crema, and their special SPG sauce) on the side. If you’re still hungry, you can also order hot chicken sandwiches from Square Pie Guys’ virtual restaurant, Hetchy’s Hots." - team infatuation
"Square Pie Guys will release a limited-edition pie with Indian flavors at its core starting April 25. The restaurant will debut its latest on Thursday, April 25, an Indian-inspired collaboration between cookbook author and recipe developer Hetal Vasavada and Square Pie Guys’s director of marketing and innovation, Priya Kane." - Dianne de Guzman
"Square Pie Guys, which has locations in San Francisco and Oakland, similarly approaches its ranch with culinary rigor." - Lauren Saria
"The Ghirardelli Square outpost of Square Pie Guys is the perfect place to enjoy textbook-sized Detroit-style pizzas while staring out at views of Alcatraz. There are massive windows overlooking the water, a patio in front, and, of course, square slices spilling over with gooey mozzarella. Lined with crispy cheddar cheese edges, the crust is somehow light and fluffy despite looking like a brick. The menu is the same as their SoMa and Oakland locations, and full of hits across the board. The classic 6x8 topped with exactly 48 pepperoni cups should be on the table, as should their fully loaded vodka pie with pulled pork, pineapple, and jalapeño. Plenty of beer and wine are also on hand for when you kick back and take in the waterfront setting." - Julia Chen
"As of April 4, Bay Area residents can enjoy fast casual Greek chain Souvla at the same time as one-year-old all-star business Square Pie Guys." - Paolo Bicchieri
