We came for their Christmas roast. The food in general was good. Some dishes hit, some missed.
We started off great with the bread topped with sardines. The sardines were amazing. Meaty and not fishy at all. Then the kitchen forgot about our mains. The staff brought out the olives as a complimentary which was nice but we still waited over an hour till our order came.
Then the mains came. We shared duck breast, beef, lamb shank and roast plate. The duck’s flavor paled in comparison to the beef and lamb. But towards the end, I was glad there was the berry sauce since everything started to taste the same. It sure needed something to cut through the richness and saltiness.
My most favorite dish was the roast plate. The various vegetable and yorkshire pudding were amazing.
We ended the night with both dessert dishes that were available. Both were okay.
The wine selection here was very good. We were recommended 2 bottles of red wine and they were excellent.
Though there was the mishap with the order, the staff were nice and friendly.
Overall I had a good experience here. I’d come back and try their regular Sunday roast.
