"St. John’s sibling restaurant is still a place of nose-to-tail worshipping, but the ever-changing menu in this gorgeous Spitalfields dining room lends itself more to sharing. At Bread And Wine, the dessert menu is almost as long as the savouries, and a meal should always end with at least a dozen madeleines, a knickerbocker glory. If food were a religion, then this would be its church. Welsh rarebit, bone marrow and parsley salad, foie gras on toast, mussels with cider, deviled kidneys, half a dozen madeleines, and a whole pie, which might be filled with pheasant, bacon, and trotter.
