Starbucks Says Custom Drinks Will Remain Despite Annoyance to Workers | Eater

"A major coffeehouse chain became the center of a viral debate after a now‑deleted tweet (and accompanying TikTok) from a self‑identified barista showed a venti Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino loaded with 13 additions — including extra ice, five “banana” modifiers, and seven pumps of dark caramel sauce — that customers have nicknamed the “Edward.” The post encouraged more people to order the elaborate, off‑menu combination and sparked discussion about whether app‑based ordering removes face‑to‑face awkwardness and thus encourages extreme customizations. Many baristas say such highly specific, time‑consuming requests increase stress, slow service, and inconvenience other customers, while the company defended customization as central to the customer experience in a statement to Fox News, calling most modifications reasonable. The episode highlights broader questions about service‑work limits, customer etiquette, and how far personalization should go." - Jaya Saxena

A Lemon-Yuja Cake Recipe That’s Perfect for Spring | Eater

"The chain's iconic iced lemon loaf is described as an overly sweet, one‑dimensionally tangy, yellow‑tinted staple sold worldwide; it exemplifies the complaint that many lemon cakes read as an aggressive, 'I AM A LEMON CAKE' statement—bright to the point of being cloying or mouth‑puckeringly tart—and can overwhelm or obscure accompanying flavors like blueberries or ginger." - Joy Cho

McDonald’s and Burger King Are Both Launching Customer Loyalty Programs | Eater

"Its long-running rewards program is credited with helping the company recover from the pandemic: membership grew by about 2.5 million in the past year, and members now account for roughly half of sales. The company leverages membership data to decide where to open new stores and to create personalized promotions, which supports expansion and higher customer retention." - Jaya Saxena

Oat Milk Brand Oatly Could Bring in $1 Billion With IPO in 2021 | Eater

"Added oat milk to menus at all locations, helping bring the alternative into the mainstream; baristas favor oat milk because it froths and heats more easily than other non-dairy milks, and its production uses less water than almond milk, contributing to its environmental appeal in the plant-based milk market." - Jaya Saxena

Google
I ordered a Brown Sugar Iced Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, but was very disappointed with the quality of the drink I received. It was filled almost entirely with ice, leaving very little actual beverage to enjoy. When I politely asked for a refill or some kind of correction, the front server refused and dismissed my concern without offering any solution. I felt ignored and unvalued as a customer. This experience did not meet the level of service I expect from Starbucks. I hope management will address this issue and train staff to respond more respectfully to customer feedback in the future.

I'm a employee at Grady Hospital. I always go to this Starbucks here in the hospital to get my regular Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frapp. Service there is great! The service I received from Glenda ,Tapinga and Lakeah was awesome. They make it so more better when they are there working. I'll be back tomorrow to get my regular.!!!

I cannot stand this starbucks. I would Doordash Starbucks before I ever order from here again, and I work here. Everytime my cold foam that I pay for is NEVER on there. Then you ask for it get attitude, and one time I had someone tell me cold foam is not supposed to float...I'm sorry what? Went again, what do you know...no cold foam. Idk why I bother.

Went to get Tall dark roast with 2 Splenda and steam cream. 11am 7/14/25 . The request for steam cream sparked a rude response from the lead person and then laughter. Im non verbal I just didnt order just from the tone and gesture of the man that appears to be the lead.

Nellie is the BEST! She provides great service every time I come to this Starbucks. She always has a smile and her work ethic shows in everything she does. The best part, the drinks she makes are always on point! You can’t beat that kind of service and skill. Thank you Nellie.

Yelp
Grady is already a busy place and this Starbucks is too. I'm not a big coffee drinker so I usually get my London fog tea. Each time I have ordered it was correct and hot and ready by the time I got downstairs. I'm happy with my orders and I get my reward points

Yelp
I hate this Starbucks...always attitudes and taking too damn long to make orders...Or they won't have the register open and they MAKE you use the stupid app and yell out "mobile orders only" and they are NOT 24 hours...they close at 10pm...what a shame for the real employees that work overnight...they should just have these employees work in the hospital cafeteria

Yelp
This Starbucks is located inside Grady Hospital and is open 24/7. They only accept mobile orders made via the app, or cards on site, no cash...not a problem for me. I've ordered here several times and my order has always been correct and the customer service has always been adequate. Where they lose a star: they are always out of everything, literally half the menu is "out" at any given time. Also, they don't have whipped cream on the app for this location for some items, but they do have it at the store, which is lame.

Yelp
Went in here with a good attitude asking nicely for my order, young women at the front desk rang me up before I was done and when I asked for something else she rolled her eyes and smacked the button, when I was done she turned around and called me a mother fcker. I told her to have a good day and walked to my seat. I opened my bag to find that she spit in my cake pop. Worker deserves to be fired and this definitely ruined my day.

Yelp
I love that Grady has a Starbucks and that is is 24/7!! The have mobile ordering, which I recommend because it often times can be busy. The staff are all friendly. They have a sitting area with tables.

Yelp
Waiting in line for 15 minutes and one of the workers had a really bad attitude. She made nasty and rude faces because she messed up someone's order. Unacceptable.

Yelp
I'm not a big Starbucks guy. I know some people who can't function without their daily Starbucks fix, but up until about a little over a week ago, I hadn't been to any Starbucks location in years. This particular Starbucks is located inside of Grady Memorial Hospital in downtown Atlanta. Once you walk inside the hospital's main entrance on Jesse Hill Drive, you make a left and then walk down a hallway. Once you get to the end of the hallway, you turn left and it's right there. It's smaller than most Starbucks are but they do have a little seating area. I always stand up when I'm there an waiting for my order but I have seen a few people enjoying their coffee while using their laptops, so I guess they have wi-fi connections there. Not being too familiar with all the types of coffee and cappuccino they sell, it's always funny to me when I'm trying to tell them what I want while wearing a face covering that muffles my already low speaking voice. I've taken to ordering either the Veranda Blend coffee, the Mocha Latte, or the Caramel Apple Spice. The best thing about that location is the customer service. Grady is a very busy hospital and the majority of their customers work there. Some of them try to order at the last minute before work and get rude about having to wait. From what I've experienced, it's best to get there before 7am if you don't have time to wait because it can get crowded after then. But the customer service I've received there has always been superb. I know they aren't getting paid much, so I commend them for their pleasant personalities. The reason I'm bringing my rating down to a three is because for the the past few days I've been unable to order the Caramel Apple Spice because one of the machines has been broken. They always recommend something of a similar price and flavor but it's not the same. Also, sometimes when it's busy they may forget to put the coffee sleeves around the hot coffee and hand you the hot cup "bareback." While walking to my destination without the coffee sleeves, I have to keep switching the cup from my right hand to my left hand because it's so hot in my palms; or else I'll just get one of their napkins and put it around the cup. Other than that, I have no complaints about this Starbucks location.

Yelp
The worse service ever; I just cannot believe it's Starbuck, this location is an imposter. Terrible customer service; drinks often made incorrectly. The store manager talked down to me because my pantry wasn't fresh and hard. Save your money, bring your own coffee.

Yelp
The overnight shift deserves 5 stars, the two ladies Kaila and Nellie are always friendly and they work well together, on the other hand when the short gentleman with glasses is there, the mood in the cafe is very different, his aurora and mouth screams: mobile orders only", his drinks are terrible, they must be short of staff because the entire night shift has nothing positive to say about this young man he should've been gone months ago.

Yelp
This is the worst Starbucks I have ever been to. The workers are loud and unprofessional. The drinks never consistently taste the same. I will never go back.

Yelp
I am writing this review because I had a good experience, and they aren't allowed to accept tips. I should tell you that I've been in Atlanta for 2 weeks and have been to 3 different Starbucks and haven't really been satisfied with the end product. To my way of thinking, my order is simple but does require an extra step. I enjoy getting a tall cafe americano with a splash of (heavy cream), but I like the heavy cream to be steamed. I also add 2 packets of sweetener (Splenda) if they have it (equal) if they don't. I do not like(Stevia) because it tastes like sweeten lawn clippings! Two of the Starbucks added Stevia without asking me because it was all the had, no warning, no nothing. The other Starbucks used half /half, and I don't believe that they steamed it either. When I got to this Starbucks,I was served by two different women, but I can't remember which one did what service, but the names I caught were Keyera and Alashan. They got my order exactly right! This Starbucks was out of the sweetener that I liked, but they did have regular sugar. Thank you, ladies much appreciated!

Yelp
Long wait times, poor communication, out of things often, and overall service could be improved
