Starbucks Says Custom Drinks Will Remain Despite Annoyance to Workers | Eater

"A major coffeehouse chain became the center of a viral debate after a now‑deleted tweet (and accompanying TikTok) from a self‑identified barista showed a venti Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino loaded with 13 additions — including extra ice, five “banana” modifiers, and seven pumps of dark caramel sauce — that customers have nicknamed the “Edward.” The post encouraged more people to order the elaborate, off‑menu combination and sparked discussion about whether app‑based ordering removes face‑to‑face awkwardness and thus encourages extreme customizations. Many baristas say such highly specific, time‑consuming requests increase stress, slow service, and inconvenience other customers, while the company defended customization as central to the customer experience in a statement to Fox News, calling most modifications reasonable. The episode highlights broader questions about service‑work limits, customer etiquette, and how far personalization should go." - Jaya Saxena

A Lemon-Yuja Cake Recipe That’s Perfect for Spring | Eater

"The chain's iconic iced lemon loaf is described as an overly sweet, one‑dimensionally tangy, yellow‑tinted staple sold worldwide; it exemplifies the complaint that many lemon cakes read as an aggressive, 'I AM A LEMON CAKE' statement—bright to the point of being cloying or mouth‑puckeringly tart—and can overwhelm or obscure accompanying flavors like blueberries or ginger." - Joy Cho

McDonald’s and Burger King Are Both Launching Customer Loyalty Programs | Eater

"Its long-running rewards program is credited with helping the company recover from the pandemic: membership grew by about 2.5 million in the past year, and members now account for roughly half of sales. The company leverages membership data to decide where to open new stores and to create personalized promotions, which supports expansion and higher customer retention." - Jaya Saxena

Oat Milk Brand Oatly Could Bring in $1 Billion With IPO in 2021 | Eater

"Added oat milk to menus at all locations, helping bring the alternative into the mainstream; baristas favor oat milk because it froths and heats more easily than other non-dairy milks, and its production uses less water than almond milk, contributing to its environmental appeal in the plant-based milk market." - Jaya Saxena

I ordered a Brown Sugar Iced Oatmilk Shaken Espresso, but was very disappointed with the quality of the drink I received. It was filled almost entirely with ice, leaving very little actual beverage to enjoy. When I politely asked for a refill or some kind of correction, the front server refused and dismissed my concern without offering any solution. I felt ignored and unvalued as a customer. This experience did not meet the level of service I expect from Starbucks. I hope management will address this issue and train staff to respond more respectfully to customer feedback in the future.

I'm a employee at Grady Hospital. I always go to this Starbucks here in the hospital to get my regular Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frapp. Service there is great! The service I received from Glenda ,Tapinga and Lakeah was awesome. They make it so more better when they are there working. I'll be back tomorrow to get my regular.!!!

Nellie is the BEST! She provides great service every time I come to this Starbucks. She always has a smile and her work ethic shows in everything she does. The best part, the drinks she makes are always on point! You can’t beat that kind of service and skill. Thank you Nellie.

Went to get Tall dark roast with 2 Splenda and steam cream. 11am 7/14/25 . The request for steam cream sparked a rude response from the lead person and then laughter. Im non verbal I just didnt order just from the tone and gesture of the man that appears to be the lead.

This location is a the worse, honestly they do NOT deserve a ⭐️. This coffee cake was hard and stale. Store manager told me that she would go out of business if she remade drinks or replace pantries. Of course, I reached out to corporate & they assisted me, it’s just a waste of time for all parties. I hope Starbucks come and train these imposters.
