I came here on a Thursday night with two other friends as I kept wanting to try this place out. While I'm glad I got to experience it, I definitely would not go back.
The space itself is actually quite neat. Nothing super unique about it compared to other rustic industrial type spaces, but I liked it nonetheless. However, there are very few tables where you can sit to yourself, and most of the seating is at long tables with benches. Not a huge deal, but not particularly my favorite.
Two of us went up to the bar to order, and while most seats were taken, there were a few openings. We stood at one of the openings for quite some time before one of the bartenders acknowledged our existence. We were provided with a menu, and no other useful insights about what the place was all about or anything about their product(s). After many more minutes of being ignored, we finally both ordered a "bartender's choice" type drink. I don't remember if that's what it was actually called, but basically it just meant that they chose the drink for you. After an inordinate amount of time to concoct this tiny cocktail, the bartender eventually slid them to us without any explanation as to what we were drinking, and then started to turn his attention elsewhere... naturally. It took a lot of effort to ask to close out, as there was no way we'd be waiting 11 minutes again to order a drink.
The drinks themselves were fine, nothing spectacular that you couldn't find at any other cocktail bar. I don't know that it was worth what I paid for, but I wouldn't say the cocktails are priced way above what some other over-priced establishments in Madison charge. A little too hipster for me, and it took way to long to be acknowledged and ultimately provided with our mystery drink. Why a brand new distillery wouldn't want to share information about what they make is beyond me, but I would definitely not return here. But, if you're interested and haven't tried it, I'd still say go check it out and decide for yourself.
