"StripSteak is all modern American steakhouse with a distinctive Michael Mina flair. Steaks like an American Wagyu ribeye cap are seared and grilled just to where steaks earn a satisfying crust and a juicy interior. But the prime rib is a sleeper hit on this menu — 16 ounces of fat, drippy meat tender and marbled, plated with piquant black truffle au jus and fresh horseradish, plus a blue cheese popover. It pairs sumptuously with an underrated side of thick and creamy macaroni and cheese. The backdrop is a restaurant designed with chic elements, wood with sharp corners and hard edges — a sleek take on the Vegas steakhouse as a genre. —Janna Karel, editor, Eater Southern California/Southwest Must-try dish: Precious small bites of caviar jelly doughnuts." - Matthew Kang
"Date night is set in stone — and also marbled — at Stripsteak at Mandalay Bay. Perfect for two, the highly-marbled 40-ounce Creekstone tomahawk is finished with red wine shallot butter for a rich buttery flavor. In typical Michael Mina fashion, the richness keeps going when the tomahawk joins creative sides like spicy pork belly fried rice and a loaded baked potato with smoked gouda and bacon marmalade." - Jennifer Smith
"Hungry diners can go for the 40-ounce Australian tomahawk at Michael Mina's StripSteak at Mandalay Bay. Other options include A5 Japanese Wagyu and 100 single-malt Scotches. For starters, don’t skip the caviar doughnut." - Janna Karel
"Reopened this past winter, Michael Mina’s award-winning StripSteak at Mandalay Bay is highlighted for Mina’s infamous butter-poached steaks, which are slow-cooked in clarified butter with herbs, shallots and garlic and finished off on a wood-burning stove; Haute Living describes them as "simply luscious" and recommends pairing a steak with one of the 100-plus whiskies behind the bar." - Janna Karel
"Michael Mina’s award-winning StripSteak restaurant will reopen just in time for the new year. On December 30, the Mandalay Bay steakhouse will reopen in a stylish and newly renovated space. It closed for renovations in October and hadn’t been expected to reopen until early 2023. The menu retains many of its old standbys, plus features new dishes. And the interior has been refreshed, with a design inspired by the Mojave Desert. There’s also an expanded new private dining room and cocktail menu. Starting December 30, it will be open daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Reservations can be made online." - Janna Karel
