I visited Taco and Beer today and had a mixed experience. The fish tacos were absolutely awesome—super flavorful and definitely the highlight of the meal. The chips and salsa were also very good, offering a nice crunch and fresh taste. The cheese quesadilla was quite good as well, perfectly cooked and cheesy. However, the guacamole was disappointing. It tasted off, not fresh or flavorful, which was a letdown. Additionally, the service was just okay. The servers didn’t pay much attention to our table, and we had to wait a while to get our drinks. Overall, while the food had some standout items, the experience was marred by lackluster service and subpar guacamole.

I dropped in on my way back to Vancouver BC as a friend highly recommended. These were some of the best tacos I’ve ever had! Never have I seen quality and quantity so well united. I had two Al pastor and two pollo mole. The sauces were out of this world. This is my New Mexican spot that trumps all others! Excited to have found this place!

Everything about our experience was great! We sat on the patio and ordered some drinks, chips/guac with salsa, carne asada, tamale, and a fish taco! I am a big fan of spicy food and their habanero salsa is genuinely flavorful and spicy! They have hefty tacos and my fiancés carne asada was cooked perfectly. The servers were incredibly attentive and friendly! Definitely coming back :)

I really like this place. Feels authentic Mexican and the food is great. The place is nice and cozy with a casual vibe. Their salsa and mole sauce was pretty good. I loved the habanero salsa that came with the chips trio, but beware it's very hot 🔥

Absolutely gobbled these tacos. Everything was delicious. I got mole, cochinita, pastor, and birria tacos and they were all delicious. It was great. My wife got cochinita and papas con chorizo, and my mom got the vegan ceviche. Everything was perfect and I will DEFINITELY be back. Thanks y’all!

Was looking forward to this place for awhile. Went today. Chips and salsa weren't bad, and the fish tacos had decent flavor and the margarita was tasty and strong but the beans and rice were so so along with everything else. I have awful indigestion after eating here as does everyone else I was with. Praying the tums kicks in soon. One of the plates came after 3 of us had already half finished what we had, and the shrimp that came in that dish were raw on the inside. Hoping we don't get sick. Bathrooms and kitchen looked messy. Not sure what's going on here but yall need to tighten it up, there are plenty of good tacos in Seattle and this is not the kind of stuff you want people talking about when they talk about your restaurant. Service was so so also, one of those places you gotta make an effort to get attention. Don't see myself coming back.

Oh my god. Don't get me wrong. i am not a food snob. I just like good food. It has been a minute since I've been so excited about what I was eating. I ordered a doradito da birria that was just perfect. The birria consome was just delicious. I put that sh*t on everything. I don't know how birria consome is traditionally made, exactly, but the balance of spices and chilis was just divine. Miguel and the whole team were just delightful and kind. Such a good vibe. I came in smiling and left in the same space. It is a bit tight in there, but you just don't feel it. Their energy just made it open and utterly positive. Man that was such a beautiful way to eat.

Great food, great music, great margs! Would recommend the vegan ceviche and the El Chapo marg!

Tried the mole chicken here and it was very strong on the chocolate-y flavor. Not my preferred flavor for chicken, but it seems to be popular and well known for this restaurant. Meat was pretty dry, but the mole helped. The staff mostly spoke Spanish, so knowing a little can go a long way. There was only one guy that spoke English it felt like. They were nice and did their best to adapt and adjust if they had a language barrier. I had a pretty late lunch when I went here for dinner so I couldn't finish my platter. They give you a pretty good amount of mole chicken, so you'll be having more meat than carbs. Totally worth the price. The place was kind of small, but they had enough seating to fit 10 tables or so. Definitely has a dive type of feel to it. Would recommend coming here if you need a meal to go with your drink. I do have to say that their restroom was very clean. Honestly impressed that they put so much effort in keeping it clean and working for the customers. Rarely see that even at fancier restaurants. So props to this place. Try to bring cash with you if you come here. There's a service charge if you pay by card. If I do try this place again, I think I'll actually get tacos and beer next time. Seems like that would be the reasonable thing to do since that's the name of the place.

I haven't been here in a few years so I was happy to see they're still around. We had a group of 6 and a baby, which is always hard to fit in, and they had a large table for us (we got there early). The employees were all very nice and helpful, friendly and smiling, not something you always get with a large group (and a baby!). The food was really good. I haven't tried all the Mexican restaurants in Seattle, of course, but I've tried a lot, and this is one of the more authentic places I've been to. It's not a white tortilla smothered in cheese and refried beans, if you know what I mean. Most of us had tacos, one party member had enchiladas, and another had a taco salad. Everybody was happy with their dishes. The taco salad looked amazing. The problem with authentic tacos is that you don't want them to skimp on the fillings, but if they put too much in, it's impossible to eat. These were full enough that it was a mess to eat. The easy thing to do is to put a little of the filling out onto your plate and mix it with the rice and beans and have a second round of food after you finish your tacos. My wife said the shrimp taco was a bit too spicy but she thinks flour is too spicy so take that for what it's worth. Get the churros at the end if you still have room. They were amazing. We'll be back and I won't wait years to go back this time!

I've driven by this place over a hundred times and never put much stock into it because of the simple name. We had friends who mentioned how "good" it was, but I honestly wasn't expecting a whole lot, especially in Seattle... Having grown up in SoCal and after living in San Diego, my bar for Mexican food is pretty high. We finally tried this place a few weeks ago. I ordered al pastor and birria tacos with a Corona and lime - I was pleasantly surprised! They were the perfect size, the flavors were great, and both meats were cooked perfectly. The restaurant interior is pretty small side and very casual, exactly how a taqueria should be. The service was friendly and nice. I'm disappointed I didn't try this place sooner!

I should have taken a picture, but the Baja fish tacos were so disappointing - a few small pieces of dried fish hidden by a mountain of lettuce and tomatoes.. and the meal was almost cold when served. Really wish I didn't pay the price for what it was. I should have spoken up. Also just be aware - they add a service charge to the bill. Other than that, waitress was nice, and the place itself is cute and open late.

Pretty alright food from what I've had, good ambiance and welcoming enough. However, they are very stingy with their salsa so I never have enough for my food, I have to ration it.

***this review is for their food truck*** Negative 5 stars. Maybe worse. Told "5-10" minutes; took 39 minutes to receive my order. It was 1 chicken burrito. That's it. But even the time wasn't the issue; if you're busy you're busy, I get it- but because they were busy the food was also just slopped together. I received a soggy, unwrapped, nasty, wet pile of food stuffed into foil- no one would ever describe it as a burrito. It contained almost none of the ingredients listed on the menu. This place straight up said "F you, we don't care" when preparing the burrito I paid $20 (and waited 40 min) for. Don't do it. Seriously, they do not deserve your business. Shit food and abusive service.

Small but big vibe and great food. Passed by this place dozens of times and was always curious about it when we had friends invite us to go for dinner. No reservation and we only waited ~10 minutes which wasn't bad considering how busy it was! They also have a tiny bar where you can stand and order drinks while you wait which really sold me. They seem to have a good system down so everything moves efficiently. The menu is huge and the lighting is dark so it's tough to see and decide what to order but we were all very happy with our food and drinks, great margs and great portions!

Awesome Mexican food and drinks in a cool and casual but also trendy atmosphere. Great bar and great portions. Complimentary THICK cut tortilla chips with the FRESHEST salsa. Drinks: -Jalapenarita ($12): Marg with jalapeno infused tequila. This one has a KICK! -Oaxacarita ($11): Mezcal, Lime juice, and OJ. I love mezcal and this drink was awesome Food: -Guacamole ($8): SUpER fresh and amazing with chunks of fresh avocado. -Enchilada Trio ($18): Delicious. Loved the trio of sauces and the mole was amazing. SO excited to come back and try more menu items like the elote and tacos. Also saw a pizza birria item that looked yummy and creative.

Probably the best Mexican food in Seattle. I grew up in the southwest, and have traveled a lot in Mexico. so for the most part, seattles Mexican food scene has been disappointing.. this place would be would be considered good not just in the south west, but anywhere in Mexico.

Huge portions, great food, super friendly service, fun casual vibe. Definitely will be coming back! House marg wasn't my favorite, maybe I'll try another drink next time. (On portions: seriously, they gave us so much guac and our tacos were filled to the brim. It's rare for me to not clear my plate but I had to box up my last taco because I was so full)

Hidden Gem! I'd heard this place was really good, but was blown away! We had enchiladas treos and it was heaven! Good reason the place was packed! Ballard has been losing many of its traditional Mexican restaurants. I think this place is the best authentic Mexican food in town.

I've been on the search for good Cochinita Pibil for years. "Good" meaning, not pulling punches on the flavor. Considering how I've heard it said that Seattle has no good Mexican food, and that I recently was in San Diego and wasn't fully satisfied with my one experience there, T&B nailed it to my full satisfaction. The next time I feel the craving for Cochinita Pibil, I know where I will go.

We're visiting family in Seattle. We're from San Diego so we know pretty good Mexican food, and have also traveled to a lot of states in Mexico. This place didn't disappoint. I was super surprised to see them have dishes like cochinita pibil, huarache, and tortas agohadas. Food definitely was authentic tasting and portions didn't disappoint. I think I was just disappointed that there was no pricing on the physical menu so certain items surprised me (ie my virgin guava marg was $9, michelada was $15, birria pizza was $32...it was big which I also didn't know because that would've been more than enough for me as a meal and to also share w/my table of 4). I guess I just don't like surprises in terms of pricing. Although, I checked their website before writing this review and pricing is listed! I think I would've appreciated had they just told us/referred us to their online menu for pricing if needed. All in all, food, drinks and service were good so it was worth it! Would definitely recommend.

Hands down the best! All the way down to the tortilla chips. My favorite is the birria tacos. The staff is amazing.

While visiting the Seattle area, my husband and I stumbled upon Tacos & Beer - kinda strange location attached to a gas station, but let me tell ya, it's a gem!! The interior is pretty cozy / small, but we managed to get the last seat on a Sunday night. We were super hungry so when our waitress immediately brought us chips & salsa, we were all over it - delicious! We also ordered guac, which was very good as well. For food, I ordered a taco plate w/ the shrimp tacos + the fried mahi mahi and my husband got the chimichanga. Both plates were HUGE and we absolutely could not finish it all - but it was so tempting as the tacos and the chimichanga were so delicious. I must say that I liked the chimichanga even more than my tacos, but I don't think you can go wrong here. Highly recommend this charming little Mexican joint!

This is Literally the best Mexican food I've ever had in Seattle. I am a so called native and have tried a lot of places which usually disappoint. The food here is incredible! The staff is very friendly... 10/10 all around

The food was super yummy, probably one of the best Mexican places I have been to in Seattle. The chicken in the enchilada was a little dry but overall ok. It would have been good to inform the customers there are peanuts in mole as people at our table have allergies, but we were able to avoid issues. The churros were very fresh, a little too sweet for me but overall enjoyed the meal. Will try their drinks next time

I'd saw this place recommended from a Seattle food person and I thought I'd finally give it a try. Good: street tacos were fantastic! Will absolutely come back for them. I got the birria, Pescado (fish), and my friend got the vegetarian tacos (minus dairy) and we agreed the tacos were amazing and well priced. Not great: The general table salsa that came with our order of guacamole tasted like can marinara sauce watered down with some onions thrown in. Not sure if it was just a bad batch. This wasn't the salsa that's on the menu. I'm hoping the trio de salsas that you order is actually good. Meh: guacamole was fine. A little bland, but serviceable, probably wouldn't order again. The service was a bit slow, but once they were with you, they were really nice!

This restaurant came highly recommended from a friend, so I made a special trip out of my way to stop by here on a Saturday night. Arrived at 9 PM...website says "Open until 10 PM". Asked for a table for two and was told they were closed. Went well out of my way to support a small business. That was my and last visit.

Small and unassuming, you look the wrong way you'll miss it. A simple name but they have a big and reasonably authentic menu. There are a lot of choices and styles of Mexican cooking with options to satisfy a wide range of tastes. Substituting chicken for cheese in my enchiladas was done with an "of course" and no fuss. There is some outdoor seating and they've opened up indoors again. The waitstaff is friendly and helpful. Pro-tip: Ask for their house habanero hot sauce. Very spicy, very tasty. Bonus tip: T&B has a good selection of tequila and mezcal! They are all very reasonably priced. If you're new to anything beyond the standard tequila, this is the place to splurge. Get some tacos and you're set for an evening with friends. The only thing missing was sangrita. It's an orange, tomato juice, with spices companion to tequila. Rare to find and I am looking for a place in Seattle that serves it. Parking is very limited, go around the gas station to find some other spaces.

The burrito was good, but I probably won't get it again. My sister got the tacos and those looked delicious and full of lots of flavor! The service was quick and friendly! Loved the ambiance it was casual and fun.

Only went once, but extremely good food, nice portions, kind staff in the front. Some of the other staffs were a little less friendly. Hours on Yelp/google do not seem accurate. Great parking, and nice vibe.

My 1st experience here was great with my bf. I ordered their pozole rojo and he got their taco plate. I love margaritas and Hispanic food! It's hard to find a place that has good pozole. Their margaritas are really good and variety of flavors. Just another table and us so service was great. 2nd experience with my friends was terrible. It's very disappointing to rave about this place to my friends and come in to have the complete opposite experience. It was busy but nevertheless it's okay to be rude. I ordered 1 shrimp enchiladas with mole sauce (not the plate, that's why it's literally 1 and not 3), 1 pastor taco, and a guava margarita. 1 friend ordered 1 margarita + 1 taco. The other the same thing plus the churro. The waiter asked if my friends wanted their taco orders as a plate, they declined. This is where it went downhill. My order comes to me and it's the enchilada plate rather than a single. I told the waiter I didn't order the plate option because we were dining in mainly for the drinks that's why we each had a small order. He starts being rude with me that he did in fact asked me if I wanted it as a plate and I said yes. I NEVER said I wanted the plate option but that I wanted the enchilada with mole because there are 3 options how you want your enchiladas. We go back and forth and then he just leaves. My friends and I just looked at each other confused. I asked them if I was wrong for the miscommunication. They said he never asked me and I was clear that I wanted 1 Camarones enchiladas with mole. I told my friends I'm not going to tip for the service. I didn't mind having the plate because it was already made. I don't usually speak up for myself because I don't like making a scene. The way waiter giving me attitude made me lose my appetite. He then comes back and take my food away without telling me anything. I am shook. He gives me a single one and I am very thankful he did that. I hate that I felt very overwhelmed and stressed about this. And that my friends had to share it with me. They serve my friends their order. I asked my friend if she ordered Al pastor too because I thought it was my taco. Sure enough they never gave me mine - most likely because he forgot what I actually ordered and blames it on me. After the conflict, our table was ignored. I didn't even want to ask where my taco is or if I could get another drink. After an hr goes by my friend is still waiting for her churro. I told her if they forgot we can just go but check that it's not on the bill. She asks the waitress if her churros coming but she ask the guy instead. He was on the POS order system and it looked like he forgot to put the order in too. That's when I realize, yeah there's no accountability. It's okay to forget an order but just be honest about it and make it right. Finally, they bring my friends churro. She wants another drink but the lady said we have to order from the guy. So she tells him to come by. At this point my friends and I ran out of patience because we were there for about 2 hrs. When he came, we asked for the check instead. He told me sorry about the order and he'll double check next time etc. I got charged just the single enchilada instead of plate. (As I should, like why would I be paying the plate if he corrected my order?) Their website says it's $4 but he charged me $8. My taco wasn't on the bill, again because he forgot to put it in. Maybe their price increase, not sure but the website needs to be updated. Some of the orders don't have pricing on their menu FYI. I was super annoyed and just wanted to hurry and get tf out. We all didn't have a very good time. The food was great and so were the drinks, but the experience was very unpleasant nonstop left to right. It was exhausting. I came home and told my bf what happened because we both had a wonderful time dining in. He was shook! Not that it matters, but I'm hesitant to return. The business itself is busy because the food, atmosphere, drinks are really nice. Unfortunately for me, it was very disappointing. Now I can't rave about this place and the reality is, looking for a Yelp review will never be your own experience until you try it for yourself! I've never left such a lengthy and bad review before. Damn.

We would go here pre the pandemic a lot and enjoyed it then. Went here recently and have to say, the hill has gone steep downhill. The service was so bad, slow, they gave our meal to a different table, never came back to ask if we needed anything or another drink. Finally had to get up to ask for the check. The food was bland and over priced for what you get. Not going up that hill again.

In the North End and need a street taco fix? Tacos and Beer delivers the goods! So far tried the grilled mahi mahi + some chips and salsa...excellent! The salsa tastes like a secret family recipe--delicious! And the mahi mahi had just the right amount of heat and spice. The staff are sweet and speedy. Get in there!

Very disappointing, ordered to go. My husband picked up the order so he was unsure what all exactly was order otherwise he would've said something there. But we ordered guac and chips and trio salsas and chips and chips and salsa and for the orders we only received half a bag of chips. Absolutely ridiculous. And the mole was way too chocolatey and sweet we didn't even end up eating it. I asked for dairy on the side and the beans were covered in cheese so we couldn't eat that either. The rice was pretty good. And the guac size was so small it was a small salsa container size for $8. It was absolutely ridiculous.

The food portions were huge. Wow the food was delicious!!! It was so good I couldn't stop eating. To top it all off the staff were over the top wonderful & very welcoming. My husband & I had very pleasant dinner. Thank you!

Physical menu has no prices, and they charge 2-3$ more than the prices on the web menu. Plus a 3% fee for any card. This is aggressively bad.

The food is so incredibly good. My boyfriend got the fish tacos and I ordered flautas. The service is fast and really welcoming. We both got a beer and enjoyed the vibe of the restaurant. I would skip the salsa and go for the guac instead. Don't sleep on this place!

My boyfriend didn't love it a couple of my girlfriends don't care for it. I like it as well as a couple other girlfriends. It's a very very busy place in peak hours. If you're told 20 minutes expect to wait an hour and a half like I've experienced. Also, the drinks are very heavy like on the thicker side.

Strip mall setting is usually a great sign. Cheaper rent spend it on the food. Classic, house, margarita is good. Tart and sweet with a bit of chili pepper mixed in the with the salt. The menu is large and has a lot of different Mexican street food. I can't comment on authenticity as I haven't been to Mexico for 15 years. Tele Universo on the screen. Cool wall murals very lively interior. Small outside area. Music is awesome. Maybe contemporary LatinX. Taco salad with barbacoa. Wow! Get a side of the creamy chipotle dressing. Fresh, spicy and smoky The guacamole is seriously chunky and delicious. Pinto beans not refried. Just all extremely tasty. The server was efficient and friendly and I highly recommend Tacos & Beer. And love the ampersand.

Very nice authentic atmosphere but the food is SO heart-stoppingly salty it's almost inedible (maybe a new and inexperienced cook?). Makes it very hard to taste the elements of the recipes. Pretty bad from a chef's perspective. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Was recommended this place as "best tacos in the city." Unfortunately, it was all very mid. Lackluster service, $5 for a soda that was flat, a burrito that was supposed to have sour cream and guacamole in it had barely a dab of both in the center. I will say, the little bit of guacamole I tasted was wonderful, with a big emphasis on lime. I'd recommend that to anyone going. Overall, the ambiance was welcoming with a dark restaurant and candlelight.

This review is long overdue. I've been getting takeout from here at least once a week (I know, it's a terrible habit I need to break.) I am obsessed with their ceviche pescado and michelada. Affordable and delicious. I've tried a variety of things on the menu and they've all been winners, albeit some more than others. Clear winners: street tacos, pozole, mole, salsa trio. Meh: burrito mojada, al pastor On top of all the tasty food, if you are a hot sauce lover you MUST come for their housemade habanero salsa. Just blew my socks off.

Visit 2! This place is Exceptional! Places like this are what my Yelp profile are all about! When a local inspired place really tries hard and knocks my socks off I like alot to go on Yelp and say super nice things and pictures about places that have honestly earned It! St.Rick "Line out the door" and "Currently car trunk take out!".

Absolutely delicious, wish I'd found it sooner! The servers are very welcoming and it's a nice environment with great decor, but can be a bit dark inside. Definitely stop by.

Abrupt end to warm weather, so I was cold and hungry for a late lunch. Walking in, the color interior warms you up. Murals, bright colors and easy going furniture transports you from the grey light of Holman road. I started with chicken tortilla soup and then order a Biarria torta. My soup soon arrived in a big bowl. It was hot and spicily delicious. Rice, tortilla, cheese, generous amount of chicken, green onions and more in a spicy broth. So much soup, I didn't order the torta. I was impressed by the open kitchen, which you could see was clean and organized. Friendly service. Impressed by the whole package. Will come back for the soup and pace my eating to try more items on the menu.

Went to get some food to-go. Wait staff walked past me a few times and never acknowledged my presence. Paid for my food and the waiter brought the credit card receipt for me to sign. The waiter then in a condescending tone pointed at the tip section and insisted I fill that out. He was mad that I didn't tip for a take away order where I was made to wait as he walked past me a few times before even asking what I wanted. The food on top of it was meh but large portions to be fair.

Tacos were huge and great. Service was top notch, too. Only negative..... the kitchen and the bathroom were very very dirty. It was made worse that it was early in the afternoon, too. I'm gonna assume it was just the once and go back for another meal.

It was just okay. I had the house margarita - it was a bit bitter but fine. We also just had a couple of tacos (stopped in mid afternoon for a snack). The Al pastor tacos were just fine - the tortillas were good. The meat was over seasoned with a heavy sauce and the pineapple couldn't be tasted. So overall okay but not great.

Omg - we are so glad we discovered this little spot! We got food and drinks to go and it was amazing. For $60 which included a tip, we got: - ceviche which came with super fresh tortilla chips - beer battered fish tacos, which came with beans and rice - a burrito mojado (steak) - 2 draft beers The fish tacos were SO good and came with a great slightly spicy sauce. The batter is crispy, and worked so well with the sauce, and fresh corn tortillas. The ceviche is a huge portion and was topped with slices of avocado and was super fresh. We're definitely going to get it again. My bf's burrito was enormous - like seriously could feed 3 people if needed.

Cheap as hell, absolutely incredible, if you need to eat for three meals order a single meal from here.

When I say I just had the best taco I've ever had! I mean it! Ate here today for the first time in all my 26 years of living in Seattle, and I'm upset I haven't tried it earlier! I ordered a Michelada to start, and boy is that thing huge! And it comes doused in chamoy and tajin. It was perfect. I then ordered an appetizer of elote, which was also delicious. Had the perfect amount of char and coated with cotija. For my taco, I ordered the Al pastor and I was blown away! The burst of flavors from my first bite had my jaw hit the floor. They've just gained a life time customer. Thank you!

This has been my go-to local place for years. Their Chipoltle Shrimp is fabulous. They use authentic ingredients and have a good menu. However, I Hadn't eaten there in a couple of months, and in ordering online, I noticed that my favorite dish was gone from the menu. I went in person yesterday. All new people. New manager, new waitstaff, and new cooks. They also now seem to have a taco truck that I never saw before. I can only assume that the owners sold it, or got new management. The old management was why I went there. I waited 15 minutes, noticing that my dish was gone from the menu, and the one waitress never got back to me so I left. I hope they don't ruin this place.
