The 23 Best Restaurants In Oaxaca - Oaxaca - The Infatuation

"This is one of the best street stalls and taco spots in the city, and they’ve been serving said tacos, quesadillas, memelas, empanadas, and tlayudas since 1974. You’ll want to come during the morning, when they’re making all of the above on the spot with fresh corn dough in their two coal-fired comals. Go for anything with chorizo, the stuffed chile tacos, and amarillo empanada filled with chicken stew and tomato. They also have some solid vegetarian options, like zucchini flower tacos and mushroom quesadillas." - liliana lopez, mariana camacho

Tacos del Carmen - Atlas Obscura

"Tacos del Carmen is right near the former home of Benito Juarez, Mexico’s first Indigenous president. Go pay your respects then come back for a blue corn quesadilla of cheese and meaty zucchini flowers." - Atlas Obscura

The 32 Best Restaurants in Oaxaca, Mexico | Eater

"This is one of the most famous street stands in all of Oaxaca City and a perennial favorite among local chefs and cooks. The family-run operation cooks up unparalleled versions of empanadas de amarillo (big corn quesadillas filled with tomato and chicken stew) and tacos de chile relleno, among other cooked-to-order bites. Start your morning with traditional tacos and empanadas prepared with fresh corn dough and cooked on the Oaxacan clay comal (large pan) while the chorizo cooks beneath. [$]" - Omar Alonso

Tacos for breakfast is always the best. Best eaten warm for the cheese stretch. Chicken and mushroom tacos were alright. Hibiscus drink was nice, could do a little less sweet in my opinion. Paid a total of 86 pesos!

My favorite cart in Oaxaca, just for the quesadilla with squash flower and quesillo. Tasty and crunchy and delicious with the green salsa. I also had a chorizo taco which was fun and crispy but not as good Totally worth it for the flower quesadilla. It has a few seats to eat at

raved about for a reason! Cooked fresh in front of you on a street corner, ridiculously good value for money and absolutely delicious INCLUDING the gorgeous salsas. Particularly recommend el taco de quesillo con salsa de chicharrón! Juicy and SO flavourful! Ask for the green salsa!!!

Oaxaca #13 (Oaxacan #4, Tacos #2): Tacos Del Carmen was recommended by our bartender at Selva. If you order one thing: taco de chorizo We ordered: (rolled) tacos c quesillo c chorizo and c chile relleon ($28/pz). Both were great (and large) as were their (three) salsas. Highly recommend and wish we had time to return.

We had chilli renallo tacos and courgette flower and cheese quesedilla. Both were amazing and would recommend!

Locals line up here for a reason... It's amazing. I had the zucchini and oaxaca cheese on a fresh tortilla and they come hot off the charcoal. The red salsa is very spicy delicious and the green is more refreshing. Highly recommended.

This has been my favorite spot to eat in Oaxaca. These ladies know what they are doing! The chile relleno and champiñones (mushroom) tacos are the best, and can’t go wrong with the quesadillas and tlayudas either. Grab a cold drink and you have the best lunch. Go early because they can run out!!

Seriously the best tacos in Oaxaca city. My favorite is to go early right when they open and get the papas y rajas con todos. Sit there and eat it and chat to everyone else. The tastiest food and kindest people!
