Orlando’s 38 Best Restaurants | Eater Miami

"Chef Xiong “Tiger” Tang, a skilled perfectionist with a commanding kitchen presence, continues to churn out some of the most impeccable and wickedly peppery Sichuan fare anywhere in the Sunshine State: Chongqing-style hotpots, braised fish filet in spicy chili oil, tongue-numbing Laziji chicken, and many more electrifying choices for the capsicum-deprived. Tang and restaurant partner Paula Ahn have reopened their Baldwin Park location as a reservation-only spot, while the original West Colonial Drive location takes walk-ins." - Faiyaz Kara

15 Great Takeout Options in Orlando, Summer 2020 - Eater Miami

"Chinese restaurants have disproportionately suffered during the pandemic due to some good ol’ fashioned racism. But chef Tiger Tang, a skilled perfectionist with a commanding kitchen presence, continues to churn out the most impeccable Sichuan fare anywhere in the Sunshine State. Plus, the servers are consummate pros at the takeout game and as vigilant as ever when it comes to anti-maskers. Tang plans on unveiling Chengdu’s second location in Baldwin Park, though the downturn has temporarily delayed the opening." - Faiyaz Kara

Orlando’s benchmark for modern Sichuan, known for mapo tofu, cold Sichuan noodles, and pickled fish soups. Consistently highlighted by the Michelin Guide and praised by local critics for depth of flavor over brute heat.

I am Chinese. This restaurant is rated 4.3 stars and I feel responsible to leave my review. We come here all the time if not twice a week. We have toured almost all the Chinese restaurants in Orlando that look promising on Google. Many of them have better reviews but non beat this one. This is THE BEST Chinese restaurant in Orlando. The Goat. 1. Majority of people who eat here are Chinese. Today I saw only one white person. They don’t cater to American taste. They are more on the salty / spicy side but they are authentic. 2. If you feel a numbing sensation it’s from the sichuan peppercorn- you aren’t having a stroke and don’t freak out. 3. If you see other Asian fusion restaurants with thousands is reviews and 4.9 stars in winter park, it’s ok. They aren’t better. That’s why you see mostly non Asian people go there. 4. It’s always fast service. Plates are clean. They don’t say “how are you my name is… I will be your server today” because they are from mainland China and they aren’t being rude to you. It’s just very authentic service style lol. 5. They have two locations - owner/boss is always at the west colonial one.

Love this restaurant. It is by far the best Sichuan cuisine restaurant in Orlando. The staff is always friendly and the food is always hot, fresh, and comes out quick. This restaurant's specialties are in the dishes from Sichuan province. Don't come here and order General Tso's chicken, you will be doing yourself a disservice.

I dined in yesterday and ordered the House Special Dry Pot — absolutely loved the taste and presentation! The flavors were bold and authentic. I do wish it included some dry tofu inside; that would make it perfect for me. I also tried the Tangerine Pepper Fish, which was amazing — flavorful, spicy, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommend this place if you love spicy Sichuan cuisine!

During our visit to Orlando, we stopped in for dinner at Taste of Chengdu and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was calm and pleasant, and our food arrived promptly. Everything we ordered was both flavorful and impressively spicy—just as we hoped. The service was outstanding; the staff answered all of our questions thoroughly and even took care of boxing up our leftovers. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food made it well worth it. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic and delicious Sichuan cuisine.

Everything was delicious and the staff was very friendly and helpful! Definitely coming back, the flavors of Sichuan tasted very authentic! Plenty of non spicy options for those not ready for the heat!

Scratching my head on why this place is rated above 2 🌟🤔 I snapped the entire airbrushed menu… aiii if they didn’t set the expectations so high, maybe we won’t be sooo disappointed. But the food looked NOTHING like the pix and tasted mostly awful. 🤮 The 2 stars due to the salad they put out was super fresh and tasty. Here’s the rest of the run down. 菊花茶🌼at $5.99 where most Chinese restaurants give for free had an odd taste. 涼粉 Mung bean noodle was trash. Tasted like old and gritty rice noodles chopped up. We got sick from it. Beltfish was … We survived it. Barely. Cabbage 手撕包菜 was decent. Braise beef with bamboo shoots …. Compare with the menu picture, it is not even in the same galaxy. The sauce was so muddy with horrendous tough beef lacking in flavor. We got sick . Urgh 😞 Sticky rice mochi 红糖糍粑 was not bad either.

Amazing customer service and the food is delicious. Ordered the green peppercorn fish and also the dumplings. Would highly recommend ordering these dishes. Paired it with a glass of wine and oolong tea. ❤️

I visited this restaurant for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with their flavorful food. I enjoyed the food and even experienced the numbing chili.
