Wow! What an amazing gem this place is. Friendly welcoming professional tidy service with a flare of art and style. And I just used their bathroom..... After I used the bathroom and washed my hands, i noticed they have a lovely basket with rolled up white cloths to dry your hands with, and I could have sworn they were heated. What!!!!!!!?!? amazing next level. I will definitely be making a reservation to come back and really experience this wonderful spot. Jazz music playing in the corner. Low dim lights, friendly servers. Wow, just wow.

Excellent dining option! The small menu has a wine pairing suggestion for each dish, the plates are really well executed and presented. The service is really good and so the ambience. They do have a piano and a singer some days, which really is a pleasant experience. The wine list has variety from grapes and countries, totally an enjoyable Dining experience.

I had the Chef's Tasting Menu Experience, and the food was excellent—each dish thoughtfully prepared with locally sourced California ingredients. I loved hearing the brief stories behind each dish, which added a personal touch. While most of the dishes were outstanding, the sorbet was my least favorite due to its numbing, bitter/sour flavor. The service was top-notch, and the live romantic music created an intimate and rare ambiance you don’t often find in the South Bay. While the music was a bit loud for the smaller space, it didn’t take away from the experience. Next time, I’ll explore the menu and try some wines. Tasting House is truly a gem—highly recommended!

I've dined at Tasting House 4 times & experienced Chef Julien's tasting menu (2024 Spring, Summer, Fall, & Winter). I have yet to come for their a la carte dinner menu. This review is for Chef Julien's tasting menu for Winter 2024. Pictures are interspersed with items from the other tasting menus mentioned above. Tasting House is gunning for Michelin stars; that is evident. Chef Julien's tasting menu is clear in its vision & has a deeply personal & warm execution to it. All of his dishes are grounded in family & heart (just have him explain the backstory of his dishes to you table-side) & are reflections of his playful, laid back, & chill demeanor while also having fantastic balance, depth of flavor, & eccentricity in combinations. His menu reaches far & wide with Swedish, Japanese kaiseki, "I'm drunk in Lower East Side New York at 4am & want something fried," classic & nouveau French, Indian, & Californian. While this may sound like a smattering of cuisines, it is deeply reflective of Chef Julien's training, background, & travels. Rarely have I come across a tasting menu that is based in a chef's eclectic travels & experiences but captures the "moment" so perfectly with a clear, linear story without reading like a "greatest hits compiliation" album of disjointedness. This is cooking at a higher level. Every course feels like an intimate 1:1 conversation, learning more, & peeling back another layer. Truly special. You may be treated with: - Smorrebrod from the Baltics with a lovely smoked fish - Venison pani puri - "Caviar on a pillow" - Pumpkin curry - Possibly the best "gunpowder" pigeon I've ever had - Coconut curry Mount Lassen trout - Geoduck, fennel, & husk cherries - Chicken pithivier Many of the front & back of house hail from Michelin starred pedigrees (since Manresa closed, many have come here) so you're experiencing the knowledge & execution of a 3-star Michelin restaurant but with the "I'm hanging out at the neighborhood bistro" environs. The entire front of house - Bryan, Juan Pablo, Mary, Dani, & more treat you like old friends & family. Bryan, Juan Pablo, & Mary whip up absolutely wild wine pairings that are eccentric but also grounded in classics. Fancy a out of left field orange wine from Portugal? Yup. Or a lovely Mount Eden pinot noir? Or a wildly fun Jura chardonnay to pair with the aforementioned coconut curry Mount Lassen trout? How about a high acidity & freshly cut bouquet & florals viognier to accompany the geoduck? Or an anfora bianco with its gorgeous texture to accompany a sweet tomato & hamachi? The wine program at Tasting House is truly fun, eclectic, wild, & playful. The pairings not only complement each course but elevate them without overshadowing. I'm very excited to see what the future holds for Tasting House. In my opinion, it's shining & full of star(s).

Google
I don’t know where I’ve been or how I’ve missed this place but we stumbled in there last night as we killed time waiting for our daughter’s flight to arrive at SJC. No doubt some of the best food, service and ambience I’ve experienced in a long time! The live piano music, 5 star service, and adorable french bistro look and feel made us think we’d been whisked away to a little cafe tucked away in France. Prices are moderate but reasonable considering the level of service, cuisine and ambience. Had one of the best steak frites of my life! All this to say if you haven’t tried this gem of a restaurant/wine bar yet, please do it! It’s going to be a new staple for us!

Google
An absolute treasure in the heart of downtown Los Gatos. We love everything Chef Julian is sending out of the kitchen. Incredible wine selection and excellent food, in a fantastic atmosphere! Wonderful ownership/management and staff. Most recently, we are enjoying the raw bar selections. Everything is super fresh - uni, abalone and scallops are favorites.

Google
Great local gem. Parking was a little tricky. Great atmosphere. You can definitely tell it is a local hot spot. Many people seemed to be on a first name basis with the staff. The food was amazing. Service was a bit slow. I understand this type of place you expect to stay for a while. But at the same time, there are not many tables. My biggest complaint is the staff. No one seemed to know what was going on. Our server kept having to ask what to do. One person would leave the water bottle on the table, and then someone else would come over and take it away. Overall, fun experience. Give it a go if you have money to spend.

Google
Such a wonderful spot for happy hour. The inside ambiance is incredibly cozy, the wine list is extensive and impressive, but the best part was definitely the service. Shout out to the som, Curtis, you can tell he is genuinely so knowledgeable and passionate about wine. We will absolutely be back to the Tasting House soon to try more of their menu!

Yelp
I had such an amazing Valentines Day here!! The ambiance was on point. The champagne and chef creations were delicious. The staff is absolutely delightful. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Go before it gets Michelin reviewed!!! One of THE best gastronomy experiences in the South Bay. The ambiance was so cozy, intimate while classy- French bistro style - with live music. It felt lively and warm. Now let's get to food! Presentation, timing, flavor profiles, textures, taste, diversity, uniqueness - you know name they had it and knocked it out of the park!! We went for the 15 course tasting menu, which can I say was worth every $175 dollar!! They infused global food cuisines into Californian eg they had pani puris (with beet powder cover) stuffed with venison tartare!! And it was delicious! Fennel salad in an oyster shell was beyond. The mushroom soup was a burst of umami going between warm and cold textures. Main courses included fish chicken AND beef - they didn't skimp out on anything - and each topped the next. Dessert was immaculate. Usually desserts push me over the edge with unwanted fullness but chef Julian kept it delicate, intricate, delicious and light. Cutest thing: they had a super cute game where they personalized your palette cleanser food option! I won't spoil it for you but it was super cute (hint: if you get the tech bro option, they serve your course on a circuit board!) Not to mention, the warmth of service and care towards diners. They sent us home with delicious tea and baked goods since we were in a rush. Also want to highlight: Insane wine collection and pairing!! (You don't have to go for the pairing for the chefs tasting if you don't want to spend behind it, you can't go wrong with getting a couple of glasses) Oh they also have a cute little bubbles bar hidden. Super cute. I can't rave any more about it - you just need to find a reason and go for yourself. I promise it's a wonderful culinary experience!! Here's a quick TikTok video on my experience: https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT2kBscmS/

Yelp
This review is for the 15 course chef's tasting menu. First, the meal was about 4hrs long. The pacing was very slow mid dinner onwards. It really hindered the experience as we got extremely tired/sleepy during our course. I wish there was a warning when booking about the dinner time. The 4hrs would have been more tolerable if we actually liked the food.. I really wanted to like this menu but my boyfriend and I only liked maybe 4/15 dishes of the entire dinner, only liked one main dish and some small bites. I would recommend they focus on quality instead of quantity next time. The only dishes that we liked were the amuse bouches, 1st seafood dish, steak dish, "Californian stereotypes" palette cleanser, pie, and mini desserts with tea. This is the first time I've had a multi course meal and did not like the majority of the food. Unfortunately I wish we went with the normal menu or went elsewhere for our special occasion. We actually want to redo our celebratory dinner elsewhere because of this. Perhaps their normal dinner menu may be a better choice. The ambience and service was quite well done. The service was attentive and we enjoyed the little details like the Polaroid photo, chef table visit, and table side tea service. The wine pairings were also great, I would definitely drink the wines that were chosen again. The live music was great and one of the highlights of the night.

Yelp
I walked in solo on a random Friday. Honestly I could write a novel just about the warm welcoming I received from everyone there. Dean was the star of the show, making sure I felt present in a bar surrounded by couples. A savory cream puff was the amuse buche. Beef carpaccio mmmm classic but so good which paired heavenly with my red whose name I don't recall unfortunately. The blanc de blanch champagne with the hamachi danced together with the smoke. The music was outstanding, so transient. The kicker was really the tea I was sent home with at the end of my meal. Although I wanted to have a third course, I was awfully full and ended it short. I long to return soon to try a dessert which I'm sure must be amazing. Go here with a loved one, you'll both love it.

Yelp
I'd recommend the Tasting House for a romantic night out. The small restaurant sits at the end of the busy downtown road. There are multiple parking lots near by that are in walking distance. The service was very attentive. I loved the waiters that helped us select our food and talked through the portions. We ordered multiple dishes including the steak, short ribs, duck, and pasta. The steak was the star of the show while the other pasta were fun dishes I'd recommend you to try. In terms of tasting, I felt like the appetizers were the star of the show. We ordered beef tartare, puff pastries, cheese plates, and corn soup. Each dishes were unique and flavorful in the own ways. I'll be coming back for appetizers and drinks only for the next time!

Yelp
Very busy when I attended but we were accommodated very nicely from the hostess / server. We came here after a very poor experience down the street and were glad we did! The wine list is out of the world, and the tasting menu is equally matched. Excellent spot for date night or an anniversary!

Yelp
Well this was pretty darn cool! Such a lovely and unique menu, great wine selection, cozy but not crowded vibe - it's great having such an excellent restaurant in LG. The service was impeccable and detailed without being intrusive. I could tell how proud they are. Chef is top- shelf in creativity and quality. We had 2 small plates that we shared and split a main dish. All yummy and unique- and at excellent prices. All the wines, we'll recommend by Riley, were excellent and also well priced. One thought- I loved the idea of a pianist and their song choices were cool. Just kinda loud for the space. But maybe it's me

Yelp
We had a very enjoyable 2 person dinner at around 715pm and enjoyed excellently balanced food with live jazz music. We intend to return to experience it again. I order the beef wellington which was seasoned in excellent balance. The steak was perfectly good to a uniform medium rare. The demi glace was a perfect representation, my only wish was that more was provided to eat with every bite. My wife had the duck which also was prepared perfectly. We also ordered pumpkin pastiche and the kampachi crudo (salad) which both exuded farm fresh ingredients with artistic blends of tastes. Unfortunately we are biologically at a point where red wine gives us headaches, so we were unable to order the recommended pairings, and instead went with a 2014 Godspeed Chardonnay from Napa as recommended by our server... and it worked well. I play saxophone myself so I appreciated the live jazz consisting of baby grand, string bass, jazz guitar, and a player who switched between tenor sax and the clarinet. The music was excellent, and I particularly appreciated the style of the woodwind player. One complaint is that because the restaurant is so small, the instrument come off as very loud. The Management should consider adding sound dampening to the ceiling and plexi sound shields to reduce the exposure to the guests; to get a more appropriate loudness. Service was excellent and friendly. The restaurant is small so seating means you are within a couple feet from other diners and easily can over hear conversations. The evening ambiance is relaxing and appropriately for an adult crowd. I would not expect to bring small children. We hope to return for the chef tasting prefix menu.

Yelp
Tasting House ruined my Valentines Day. They cancelled my reservation because they said I did not pick up the phone to give them my credit card info. Why did they not ask for this info at time of booking? Mary the manager canceled my reservation 2 days before stating she could not contact me to get my cc. I told her I do not answer calls due to my job. She was unapologetic. She gave my res away and stated that I should have confirmed with OpenTable. I have been to this venue 5 times and never had such experience or been treated in this way. Perhaps she needed an excuse to accommodate her friends?? Tasting House seems to make the rules as they go and it is a terrible business model.

Marlee B.

Yelp
Enjoyed our meal at the tables outside, a bit loud inside with piano music. Menu of wines is extensive but watch out, they were out of the "value-priced" Cabernet so we ended up spending way more than intended ($150/bottle). Food was beautifully presented and tasty. This is a good place for a special meal. Service was efficient and leisurely.

Michele B.

Yelp
What a beautiful surprise, Chef Julian and the entire staff are very talented, detailed oriented. I was by my self and I decided to go with tasting menu with wine pairing. Amazing experience from start to finish very attentive service and I loved the chef come out and explained every single plate. At the end a beautiful surprise tea service at the table what a wonderful touch. I can't wait to go back with my friends.

Sanjali P.

Yelp
Ambiance and service here is really great. They've got a great wine list but unfortunately the food missed the mark for me. The items on the menu were all one of a kind and the food really was truly unique (in a good way). Everything from the ingredients down to the presentation was done with intent. It was a cool culinary experience. The tagliatelle lacked flavor to me. It needed a kick or something to elevate the overpowering earthy taste. The steak and frites were probably my fave because the aioli the steak came with was really good. The uni risorts was a solid 7/10 and the corn soup was a 6.5/10. Presentation and ingredients were a 12/10 for everything. The Sunchoke root bread pudding was good but not the best bread pudding I'd ever had. The nuttiness in the dish made it taste like an expensive pb&j. For a cool culinary experience, I would definitely recommend.

Annmarie S.

Yelp
What an amazing experience! Had dinner with a friend to celebrate the holiday season. Our food was fantastic- pumpkin salad, truffle pasta, duck confit and chicken, which tasted like an elevated thanksgiving day meal! Cheesecake for desert, which isn't my go to but was so light, a whipped like texture- outstanding! We had the wine that was paired with each meal- that made each dishes' flavors standout. The staff went above and beyond with special touches like a personalized card with our Polaroid picture in it, wishing us more friendship adventures in the future to a gift of infused tea to take home. Even our leftovers were packed up and left at the front with the hostess to give to us when we exited..... personalized acts of kindness that just made this establishment that's located in an cozy home all the more special. Can't wait to go back!

Kaitlyn W.

Yelp
An excellent experience! We went to the Tasting house after looking at some of the food on Google. We love elevated cuisine and the Tasting house puts in a lot of effort into the food. We started out at the champagne bar with Curtis who was super friendly and fun to talk to, he recommended a sparkling rose to pair with our Korean Fried Chicken and we both loved it. The decor in the Champagne bar was swanky and feels almost speakeasy like (exposed brick is a huge design plus). They also had multiple wine related resources around the bar including books and posters. The dinning room we sat at the bar where Riley took care of us. Riley was very knowledgeable and professional, we appreciated him taking time to chat with us when it was clearly very busy. A piano play began playing about 30 minutes into our service which elevated everything. Our highlight was definitely talking to the Chef, who came out and talked with us briefly about the food. He was (and likely always is) very busy so his stop was brief but meaningful. At the end we received a complementary tea blend with some satchels for brewing. We will definitely be back and hopefully with more friends :) These guys are on my Michelin Star watch list for sure!

Yelp
I really didn't want to give this place two stars but my food was good, my husband's was not. I made reservations here for my husband's birthday because he loves wine! I wanted him to have the chef's experience. I called in advance to make sure everything was set. I was never told there was a possibility that the chef's specialty could "run out." This is something that should be placed on the website or you should have the option to book it! I also made sure to say it was my husband's birthday and it was not acknowledged AT ALL! I spent $300 on two people WITHOUT the chef's experience or even a birthday acknowledgement! Ruin his birthday dinner. I almost felt like we were racially profiled! We won't ever return!

Greg

Yelp
My wife and I visited the Tasting House back in late May and were treated to an amazing meal. Not only was the food delicious it was beautiful in its presentation. The chef and his team know how to get it done! And the serving staff were the most attentive We have ever had. Perfect dining experience. It was a peaceful atmosphere with an almost family setting. We hope to return to California next year and the Tasting House will be first on our list of stops!

Ann N.

Yelp
This is now my new FAV spot when I'm in town! Met a gf here for some drinks and we definitely got more than drinks. We arrived at about 4:30pm and sat at the bar. The restaurant was not full yet. We ordered our glasses of wine, you can do a half glass or a full order. Then we ordered some food - oysters and tuna. Both are a must! Then we refilled our glasses and ordered more food - lobster ravioli and lamb, these are a must x2! Amazing flavors and perfectly cooked. Service was amazing Restaurant looks awesome, quaint and inviting. Pricing is good for the food and wine that you get. Perfect ambience. Will definitely return with more ppl to show off this awesome restaurant!

Eyal B.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and food, did not like the fancy style and the price was not worth it for the food, Beet salad was a miss

Troy A.

Yelp
Don't eat here unless you want to waste ~$300 for dinner for two. Extremely - overpriced and it was not a coat & tie restaurant. The ribs looked like they came from a parakeet. Food - portion sizes were microscopic ... bring a microscope with you so you can see the food. Very expensive for tiny food. Was over-charged for my glass of wine, $28 for a $15 glass of wine. Received an appetizer I never ordered as well. Pay attention to your bill. Good news is there is a Subway down the road.

KC C.

Yelp
Love this place for dinner and/or just drinks/dessert. The hubby and I are club members, so we frequent this establishment. The staff are all very friendly and educated about their wines. They recently brought in new chefs, so we decided to have dinner, since we usually do just dessert/wine. Hats off to Erika, Mary, Curtis, JP, Dino, Enrique, Bryan and Emily who always greet us personally upon arrival. And every now and then, if we are lucky, we get to say hi to owner Denise. :) A few things we tried recently: Escargot - tasty but lukewarm in temp (prob minor fluke) Hamachi Crudo - a must Venison Tartare - a must Beet Salad - a must Squab - love the way they prepare this off the bone Steak Coulotte - super yummy Trout - super yummy Some things to note: Parking is easy as there are plenty of street parking and also a designated lot. Would def make reservation if you're dining on a Friday/Saturday; they get pretty packed. There's live music some days of the week/weekend. I think Wed-Sat? Only wine/champs - no hard alcohol. Kid/family friendly, but also a cute date night place. Outdoor dining offered. Will be back!

Luca R.

Yelp
Quote me when I say Chef Julian is going for the other Michelin star of that short street in Gatos! In bocca al lupo!

Kathy W.

Yelp
Delicious, creative tasting menu; perfect wine pairings. The serving staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Tables are well spaced so that each is comfortable and feels private. We had questions about the chef and the restaurant, and the chef came by to share some of his story as it informed his choices for the menu. Not inexpensive, but worth the money, especially for special occasions.

Maï A.

Yelp
This restaurant has surprised me more than any other, including Michelin-starred establishments. We had the Chef's Experience, and every single course delivered unexpected delights. This is exactly what I look for in high-end dining, and this restaurant exceeded my expectations in every conceivable way--be it presentation, the choice of ingredients, their innovative combinations, or, of course, the flavors. I don't write reviews for restaurants because I'm pretty lazy, but I felt compelled to share this extraordinary and meaningful experience. As pescatarians, we asked if they could accommodate us with a pescatarian course, and they did it flawlessly, even at the last minute. AThere was a "surprise" course that truly lived up to its name, which I won't disclose to ensure future customers can experience it firsthand. One of the highlights of our visit was the opportunity to speak with Julian, the chef. He personally visits each table, passionately explaining the dish, his commitment to using local ingredients, and addressing all our questions and this interaction made our dining experience so much more special. This has quickly become our favorite restaurant in the Bay Area, and we can't wait for our next visit!!

Sarah M.

Yelp
Good food! A highly expansive menu that I can't wait to go back and try more of. Definitely not a good location for big groups, our group of 6 felt squeezed in our table. And it gets loud in the dining area, so just be aware. Service was attentive, and staff were knowledgeable on the menu and wine suggestions. I'll definitely be back but not with a large group.

Sean L.

Yelp
We had an amazing experience at Tasting House yesterday. To my pleasant surprise, the restaurant has been open for over a year! It's located where Cin Cin used to be, but the renovated space is now much cuter and more spacious looking. One unique aspect of the place is that it's also a champagne bar, which I thought was fantastic. Our server, Paul, was excellent - he's super funny and knowledgeable about the food and wine they serve. He really made our experience enjoyable. We ordered the Ahi Crudo, Beef tartare, Wellington, Strawberry Goat Cheese Salad, French Onion Soup, Sausage Platter, and Lobster Ravioli - all of which were impressive and delicious! The only disappointment for us was that the oysters left a briny, fishy aftertaste. Additionally, our wine pairing with the dishes came out all at once rather than with the respective courses. This made the experience a little confusing as we were not sure which pairings went with which dish, and resulted in our whites getting warm. Despite that small hiccup, I would definitely recommend Tasting House for a date night or any sort of celebration - it's well worth the visit.

Yina M.

Yelp
Food: 4/5, Service: 4/5, Ambiance: 5/5 Tapas type restaurant with great food selections and wide range of wine options. Liked most of the dishes we ordered: - French onion soup: yum! - Stracciatella and prosciutto: sooo good, must order! - grilled Spanish octopus: tasted great but we somehow got a skinny version - sausage sampler: a little bit on the salty side - lamb lollipop: probably will skip next time, not great cuts and I'd go with Kokkari's lamb riblets instead Excellent wines and don't miss the cheese shop next door owned by the same restaurant!

Susan C.

Yelp
Wow!! First time trying the Toasting House and it was an amazing experience! The service is unmatched. The food is absolutely amazing - I loved everything we tried including the recommended wine pairings. Not pictured but truly enjoyed the Bay Greens appetizer ( bergamot avocado, seaweed, kohlrabi, miso sand ), the best panisse frites & "béarnaise", and the oysters! Highly recommended.

Luke K.

Yelp
Amazing in all areas! Super cute ambience. Outstanding service. Delicious food. Great wine selection. And all for good prices for the value! Steak frites 5/5 great value for a wagyu steak, and I like that the sauce came on the side Wine - great selection from CA and EU, comes in 3oz or 6oz. Vasso Cab was great. Fried chicken - very interesting. Beth liked it. Bread pudding 5/5 - super interesting! Chocolate mouse was good Delicious bread We will be back for a date without kids!

Jill M.

Yelp
We 3 loved our experience for an afternoon of Champagne at The Tasting House with the knowledgeable and friendly Curtis. We ordered small bites which were all unique in taste. The decor and welcoming make this a special place that LG needed. We would definitely return to try dinner there. They have live music too.

J. S.

Yelp
My husband and I recently stumbled upon this restaurant and decided to give it a try and celebrate our anniversary here. We were not expecting the level of attention and hospitality we were met with. The wine selection was absolutely fantastic and the tasting menu left us feeling speechless. The thought, creativity, and focus on sustainability paired with flavors that were recognizable and felt like home made for an experience like no other. thanks for taking us on a truly unparalleled culinary journey and for making our 4 year dating anniversary extra special @chefuels @tasting.house

Yelp
I wish I knew of this place sooner. Every part of my experience was perfect: service, atmosphere, food, wine, glassware, etc. The menu was huge, and our waiter seemed to somehow know every part of it. The wine pairings with all the food are spot-on. I would highly recommend training your alcohol tolerance before coming here because you're missing out if you don't get the pairing with each dish. I had the California tasting and thought it was well-executed. The dishes/wines were all very different and followed each other very neatly. I think the plate of sausages is also a must-have when visiting. The seafood course of my tasting was awesome paired with the white wine. I would imagine the rest of the tasting options are this good too. Definitely bringing friends here in the future.

Yelp
A Five-Star Review for The Tasting House. Nestled in the heart of downtown Los Gatos, it is more than just a dining establishment; it's an experience that lingers long after the last bite. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with a beautiful piano on one side and dining on the other side. The front of the house is so kind and warm, you feel like you're at home. The staff is so attentive that you never have to look around to get someone's attention. The menu, a testament to the chef's creativity and skills, that bring out the most intriguing tastes not to mention the presentation, which is stunning and innovative. Everything is above and beyond, which is so exciting. I always love to see the ways they present the food. The combination of exceptional cuisine, impeccable service, and a charming ambiance guarantees an experience that will leave you wanting more. This is why we keep coming back. The deserts are to die for. They do an excellent job with the wind pairing as well. They have an amazing sommeliers that have been very helpful on picking the best wines for our orders.

Yelp
I've now been to Tasting House twice and both times the visits have been very enjoyable. Here's what I like: -The staff is super friendly. Everyone working there seems to be very happy and it's reflected in the service you get. -I love that they offer a huge selection of wine by half glasses. This is perfect if you want to taste several options or adapt pairings to your food choices without getting drunk. -The food is interesting and relatively well priced. There are plenty of options to stratify anyone with dietary limitations. Things to know if you're visiting: -During one of our visits, they had a band playing by the entrance. While the band was great, it made it difficult to have a conversation with your table mates if you were seated in the front half of the restaurant. -Yes, they have heated outdoor seating. -The cheese and charcuterie boards are a little overpriced for what you get. I recommend sticking to other items. -The dessert sampler was just ok. -Be careful when ordering from the wine list on the back of the menu. My friend was confused and thought the first price was for one glass of wine (instead of half glass) and ended up dropping $120 for two glasses of wine. That's totally on her, but make sure you read the menu to avoid any surprises at the end of the meal. I heard someone say the offer a membership here, but nothing was offered to us. That won't stop us from returning though.

Yelp
Last minute reservation turned into a beautiful dinner. The Tasting House took over the former Cin Cin restaurant. Tasting House offers wine pairings with small bites and dinners. We decided to order a bottle of bubbly to share and it paired perfectly with everything we ordered. We started with oysters on a half shell and truffle parmigiano pommes frites. For our entrees, we enjoyed the croque madame and the grilled king salmon. Both dishes were delicious and perfectly prepared. Our server Marius was excellent. To end the evening, we enjoyed the chocolate creme brulee and divine housemade beignets and berries with various sauces (warm hazelnut chocolate sauce, raspberry coulis and espresso anglaise. Simply decadent.

Yelp
We used to be a regular here before they changed. From the wine list and all the food menu carefully created, we could really see how much the owner/restaurant cares about wind and food pairing, and we loved that. Food wasn't overpriced and each dish had good paring. 3 different charcuterie board had great character, beautifully presented, and was very well made. We also liked the caviar, lobster ravioli, and the beef wellington. My husband and I used to go at least every other week and had at least two bottles of wine. All of this has changed after rebranding. The place has now just changed to a generic expensive restaurant with no characteristics. Food menu items have reduced, I don't know if food menu was created with wine pairing in mind. Charcuterie board changed. Its beautiful presentation is gone and the combination is not as thoughtful as before. All of our favorite menus are gone. After the change, I feel like tasting house has really lost its identity. There wasn't a place like this in the Bay area, but now it's just one of common Bay area restaurants. I don't know who made this decision but it's just really sad. I wish they go back to what they used to be, I wouldn't mind if they increase the food price. Menu before was much better and before and the place actually had identity, characteristic. Now all that's gone and we never go again unfortunately. It's just really sad because we lost our favorite restaurant :(

Yelp
Nice ambiance and live music. The duck confit leg was good, the short rib was too sweet and came with three purees that seemed like baby food. Why do I need all my sides turned into puree? I still have teeth. The french cheese platter was not interesting or special and the ravioli was a single ravioli for $22. The chocolate mousse was nice. Overall for $450 the three of us dropped a lot of coin for an ok dinner that lacked texture. $48 for a short rib with some puree on the side is a bit too special for me when I can make a better one at home.

Yelp
3.5 stars but rounding up to 4 overall for the great service and ambiance. I made reservations for Thursday at 5:30pm; however, they didn't get busier until later on that night. We were seated as soon as we arrived, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. I tried: -Complimentary Cheese Puffs (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=qE0pYQR_ocJMy1ICJobPhQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Cheesy and airy, but a little too dry for my preference. You can purchase these bites in their store next door. -Crispy Brussel Sprouts (Sundried Cranberries, Toasted Slivered Almonds, Balsamic Reduction, Farmstead Chevre, $16, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=hDHrVGujoVbwPnhAttcfdg&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Yum- I loved how crispy these brussel sprouts were, and the balsamic reduction and chevre added a lot of flavor. Some of the brussels could have been cut smaller, but otherwise, this was still a great dish. -Boujee Tatar Tots (Le Gruyere, Creamy Boujee Dressing, Chives, Sheep & Goat Feta, Brie Cheese, Truffle Oil, $18, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=RJmLS-IGL9Fx4o3Y9VvFAQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Just ok- the tater tots were nice and crispy, but I didn't think the cheese combo worked. The brie melted, but it was more of a gooey consistency, and the flavors of the gruyere, brie, and feta clashed. -Grilled Sausage Sampler (Balsamic Braised Cabbage, Dijon Mustard, BBQ Sauce, $18, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-vCYVBw-VKxMZ_K5gwrI1Q&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Good, but there were only 3 sausage halves, which I thought was curious. The balsamic cabbage was also very acidic. -Chef's Angus Beef Burger (Turkey Bacon, Le Gruyere, Garlic Sauce, Housemade Ketchup, Caramelized Onion, Pickle, Pomme Frits, $22, https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=OEiUKZpzIKxtggq_wttgTw&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Good but not quite great. The burger patty was cooked well, but I wasn't a fan of the turkey bacon. Also, the housemade ketchup was too acidic, and they added a lot of ketchup to the burger. However, I did enjoy their pomme frits, which were nice and crispy. I did enjoy my cab, and appreciated how knowledgable their staff was with the wines. I would come back if in the area to try their beef wellington and croque madame, and check out more of their wines. They had indoor seating available as well as ample outdoor patio seating. Parking in this area can be tough during the weekends, but there was a parking lot behind the restaurant with a good number of spots.

Yelp
Three of us truly enjoyed our time at Tasting House. Each of us ordered 2 different dishes. Every bite was delicious. One of us doesn't drink, they paired a non-alcoholic sparkling wine that really made the meal special. Every detail was taken care of, it wasn't too much though, it was a very comfortable atmosphere

Yelp
My family and I decided to try this new hot spot in LG. Upon arriving, we felt the jazzy upbeat vibe with the live music playing inside. The restaurant was super busy! It took us a few minutes past our reserves to be seated. Our server was nice and informative of the menu and different options. However the service was extremely slow which made this dinner stretch to a good 4 hours. We wanted to place our drinks and food order all at once but it was a task to keep waving down our server or trying to make awkward eye contact to get him to order it. I understand it was a very busy night but this kind of set the tone for the rest of the night. We had ordered a bunch of items to share- burrata salad, beet salad, butternut squash ravioli, beef Wellington, burger, and a pizza like dish. Everything was delicious. However it wasn't until the bill that we realized some of our order was incorrect ( we never got the butternut ravioli we received the lobster ravioli instead which explains why we thought it tasted fishy), also we ordered one sparkling water and the server kept coming back with more without asking us which ended up on the bill as 4 water bottles total. Overall very cute hip radiant place but service is very slow and expect to be here quite a long time. Also a tad pricey for what you get. A huge variety of wine options, my rosé was delicious.

Yelp
In our opinion, the tasting menu wasn't impressive. Some plates were tiny. Some were very big. Some had a very dominant flavor, like so fishy or so much clove. The presentation was medium, in my opinion. But the service was great

Yelp
This is the best place to dine in Los Gatos. The chef earned a Michelin star for his former restaurant. He is gifted & a very nice person. All members of his team are fun people who provide excellent service, are hard working and very knowledgable. The wine pairings are over the top. Love the outdoor dining. We stayed til 10 pm Happy place with good energy. And they serve recipes the chef creates using California's native food plants. Sensational sustainability! Rock on TH!

Yelp
TLDR: Classy spot off downtown Los Gatos with an impressive wine selection and crafted plates- great spot for a formal lunch or special occasion. Parking lot is right in back, the restaurant is off the Main Street off an alley- nice it's easier to find parking this way. There is a shop next door under same owners that sells wines, cheeses, oils etc- a lot of great local options but a little pricey. The restaurant is next door. Ambiance is nice- there's outdoor European style patio seating and indoor with a large bar. Their walls are stacked with wines- fitting since wine is the star of the show here! They offer an extremely extensive wine selection- by bottle and glass- both local and imported. They even offer wine by the half glass which I love. They have cheese boards etc as accompaniment to wine sipping, or offer a variety of multi course meals paired with curated wine selections. Price point is consistent with the higher end cuisine, but I think it's cool the concept is to give you an abbreviated curated multi-course meal with tailored alcohol pairings like you'd see at a Michelin star restaurant but at a more affordable price point. That being said to truly enjoy the restaurant I'd budget $50-$100 per person. Overall I really enjoyed this place and recommend. We went expecting a wine tasting room but it was much more than that.

Yelp
You will likely leave Tasting House hungry and broke. Every dish was insanely overpriced with small portion sizes. The restaurant essentially tries to serve dishes that pass as elevated or for sophisticated palates. However, the flavors do not come together. The temperature was off (i.e. lukewarm soup). If you want anything to drink apart from wine or water look elsewhere. Would give one star but giving an additional star for the ambiance.

Yelp
Finally found the opportunity to come try the Chefs Tasting Experiences. It's only during dinner time. There's 4 types of food and wine pairing experience ($100 or $120). We got one of each so we could try everything. I had made reservations for my birthday dinner Friday at 7:30pm about a month ago and there was plenty of available times. But it was a very busy night and was glad I had made reservations ahead of time. There's outdoor and indoor dining. We were actually the only Asians in the whole restaurant. My husband and I arrived before our friends so we were seated first. Our friends came in a bit after us and the hostess immediately said for Crystal's reservation? I guess it was pretty obvious they were with us? lol ...They also gave us complimentary dark chocolates and chocolate creme brulee with beignets. Service was good. The food and wine came at a good pace. Portion was also a good amount of wine and food. We thought we were going to be hungry, but we were wrong. We were stuffed! Most of the food items we had were good. Be warned, there's a lot of European wines in the tasting experiences. We are more used to the bold, Californian wines. The Sparkling flight wines had the most delicious tasting wines. Not sure if they rotate their tasting menu from time to time. If they do, I would come back to try again. Yelp
Unbelievably great experience! A quiet spot in otherwise bustling Los Gatos, this oasis of French and Californian cuisine and wines is a must-go-to (and frankly, must be repeated). We especially love Curtis' 'next level' hospitality, friendliness, recommendations, and pairings of food to drink. Give him details ranging from appetite, to feelings, to desired experience, and he will combine components like casting a spell and voila! A wonderful moment! And the wizard in the kitchen, Chef Julien is making some of the best dishes we've tasted (his crudo and homemade pasta are recent standouts). And with a team like Marie, Marco, and Natasha backing them up, expect a wonderful dinner at world-class quality from any and all in this wonderful boutique restaurant.

Yelp
Wow, this place was amazing. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the asparagus was wrapped in prosciutto, both went well with the sauce. I ordered the recommended red wine from the menu, which paired well with the salmon. The Brie with compote was also delicious. To finish off the meal with the Château Grand-Jauga was perfect as it had a nice, slightly sweet, floral taste. I sat at the bar where the service was great and attentive.

Yelp
My girlfriends and I have been wanting to try this place after the Champagne Bar opened... and we finally did. We made reservations for a Tuesday night, sat outside and it was lovely- until it got a bit late and it got cold (no heaters). They had The Tasting Room menu as well as the Champagne Bar menu- great selections! There was actually quite a bit to choose from we were sure what to choose. We opted for a glass of champagne, which was fantastic, and some appetizers - which 3/4 was pretty good. We had the truffle pomme frits- which was not good. No truffle taste and the fries tasted like it's been sitting out. The arugula, feta and strawberry salad was delish as well as the mango chili oysters (my favorite!) The boujee tater tots was just ok- nothing special. We ordered the choco-charcuterie- all fantastic! I paired it with an affogato- save the money and ask for more wine! Service started out strong and then it kinda dropped. We paid about $85/person.
