The Best Ramen In Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"The soft wavy noodles in the Zenbu No-Se Ramen at this University City spot are great for making sure you get those extra drops of broth with each bite. And this tonkotsu broth option feels like it has more toppings than South Street has bars. There’s marinated chashu pork, corn, menma, red pickled ginger, kikurage, a half-boiled egg, naruto, nori, sesame, and scallions, all sprinkled with roasted garlic oil on top." - candis mclean

Tataki Ramen & Sushi - Review - University City - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"The soft wavy noodles in the “Zenbu No-Se Ramen” at this University City spot are great for making sure you get those extra drops of broth with each bite. And this tonkotsu-broth option feels like it has more toppings than South Street has bars. There’s marinated chashu pork, corn, menma, red pickled ginger, kikurage, a half-boiled egg, naruto, nori, sesame, and scallions, all sprinkled with roasted garlic oil on top. From the nutty flavor of the garlic to the tangy ginger, each element of this soup just works." - Candis R. McLean

Best Ramen in Philadelphia - Eater Philly

"Right on Drexel’s campus, Ramen Bar makes University City students debate whether to cook a packet of cheap ramen noodles or spend $12 on a piping hot bowl of the real stuff. The dozen different kinds of ramen are an education unto themselves." - Sarah Maiellano

Google
will always be one of my go-to sushi/ramen places in university city! the price is good and their lunch special makes it even better. I always try different types of sushi and it's very suitable for large parties (ive gone as a group of 8 before). the only problem with that is that you can only split the check 3 ways. atmosphere and vibe are really nice and casual, and the staff are always nice!

Google
We had lunch here and got the Spicy Garlic ramen and curry chicken Katsu. Both were delicious. The generous portion of chicken katsu was perfectly crispy, and the sauce was delicious. The ramen was also super good.

Google
Food was good. Definitely recommend getting karaage chicken it was so delicious and the sauce along with it was good. The chicken was hot and fresh, great portion size. The mocktails are so good. Ramen was okay. The food came out at a great pace

Google
This place is amazing. Whether you make small or large orders, they get them done with quality and good speed. All the special sushi entrees are amazing but my favorites are Dragon Roll and Flamingo Roll. If you like fried calamari at other places you will love their fried squid appetizer. Good find overall and so close to Drexel University! Miss it when this place used to have a bar.

Google
DELICIOUS!!! I have to keep myself from coming here too often because it’s just that delicious. I’ve tried their salmon sushi and shoyu ramen (pictured) and it’s always so fresh and yummy! The waiters are always friendly and the entire restaurant is cozy and cool. There’s plenty of TVs all with different things playing so there’s always something to watch while you wait for your food (which isn’t a long wait anyway). Eat here!

Google
I visited the restaurant last week, and despite the bustling crowd, we were seated and served surprisingly quickly—a pleasant start to the evening. The sushi and ramen were absolutely outstanding—rich in flavor, beautifully presented, and genuinely mouthwatering. Every bite felt like a mini escape. The ambiance was immersive and thoughtfully curated. Although I haven’t had the chance to visit Japan, the decor and overall atmosphere offered a glimpse of what I imagine a cozy, modern spot in Tokyo might feel like. The background music added a calm, pleasant vibe, and the staff were warm, attentive, and welcoming throughout. Parking in the area was a bit of a challenge, but once inside, it was clear the experience was well worth the effort. I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

Google
Server most have been having a bad day, she wasn’t pleasant at all. Food was amazing but not serving the whole egg is greedy.. never heard a ramen spot that serves half an egg like who eats half an egg

Google
Loved the cozy atmosphere and amazing food at a great price! Definitely one of the best Japanese restaurants in Philly.

Yelp
Place is very cute. Service was great. I ordered the Tum Yum Shrimp Ramen and I can't believe how good that broth was. All I needed was the red chili flakes because I like my food extra spicy. The broth was so rich and flavorful. The noodles had the perfect texture. I didn't even need the shrimp to be honest. I also had the cucumber rolls (forgot the name of the dish) and the tuna tar tar - only thing missing from the tuna tar tar was something crunchy like a fried wonton chip or something . But overall very delicious food and will definitely go back!

Yelp
I've been here several times now. The rolls are always great and very reasonably priced. The service has been good, and the seating is fine, although it's a smaller space.

Yelp
Best curry chicken katsu in Philly!! The curry was very delicious that we had to asked for more. Unfortunately, it's additional but worth it. Try the ice cream too if you have room!

Yelp
Located where Ramen Bar was originally. The miso ramen here was a complete miss with barely any flavor. The kani salad had way too much cucumber and mayo. Other than that, the location was clean and the servers were friendly.

Yelp
Drexel Penn students unite! Tataki is a decent option near campus! Food is tasty and service is quick. Really want to try curry katsu but never ordered it for some reason...

Yelp
The food overall was good. The broth on the ramens were flavorful. The tiramisu was definitely store bought because it was a bit on the bland side. We also ordered 2 specialty drinks however after about 20min we had to remind them. We waited another 5min before they finally came back to let us know they didn't have them/they were sold out.

Yelp
Very good sushi and shrimp tempura. Nice clean seating. We ate around 4:30 and almost no one else there.

Yelp
My cousin wanted some ramen and Tataki Ramen & Sushi was close by so we tried it. Very clean inside. The lemonade mint tea was $5 and delicious. The sushi was good. The only thing is the the waiter got my ramen order wrong and it had to be sent back and I had to wait for the correct order while the other people in my party were able to start eating. The ramen (although late to arrive) was really good. I will try this location again and try a ramen with a spicy broth.

Yelp
Came here to eat with some friends and we loved it! Had the Curry Chicken Katsu and it was amazing!!! Servers were so friendly and caring! Love the Kpop and mural on the wall. Very energetic atmosphere.

Yelp
Staff was kind. Service was timely. Restaurant was clean. I had the Tonkatsu and it was "okay". The broth was flavor-less. I also had the gyoza, as an appetizer, which was decent. To drink, I had a lemon mint drink, which was the best part of my meal. Always in search of good ramen, I did not find it here. I will not return.

Yelp
Staff is very nice. We have had sushi rolls here which are amazing but the tonkotsu ramen was the best I have ever had -very flavorful and delicious. Tom yum ramen was good but not as good as the other. They also have spice at the table so you can add more if needed. It is busy a lot of the time but they are very fast. Can't wait to try more.

Justin G.

Yelp
The sushi was solid, but the Shrimp Tempura Udon was not good at all. The broth was too fishy for my liking and ruined the dish. Overall a decent place, but I would probably avoid any of their soup based items in the future. Additionally , the vibe of the place is good and the workers are nice.

Michael J.

Yelp
The food was quite exceptional. I'd like to have more options for beverages but the food was great and I'm sure the next time me and my wife visit Philly we'll return to this restaurant

Yunqin Y.

Yelp
We tried this place and it was delicious and service was good. We shared the tonkotsu ramen and curry chicken. The ramen was flavorful and broth was rich. The curry chicken was crispy with yummy sauce. They also have fruit tea, everything on the menu looks great. Would be back to try more next time.

Yelp
Ordered some takeout! Regardless of dining in or out y'all know I love to engage in genuine conversations to get maximum details for these reviews and I did just that. Enjoyed my quick little convo with the hostess and was given my food right when I arrived (~5-10 minutes after placing the order online) Cool in store environment and I love the variety on the menu but there's certain things that hold my rating back from being exceptional. I got back home and opened the bag up to quite possibly some of the smallest sushi I have ever dove into! This wasn't a crazy problem as I value quality over size/quantity, but the portions were not worth the above average price. I enjoyed the sushi a good bit but it wasn't anything I would return to just because there's better bang for your buck out there. Im disregarding the extra fees on items throughout delivery apps btw, strictly going off the menu I read while I was in store, still not really worth the price. I understand the prices may be higher due to the University City area but even then the price doesn't seem to cater to college students either. Can always go for some sushi and I'm not straying away from the fact that this place can make some great food, but price to quality and quantity ratio does matter and can't go unmentioned when leaving an honest review. Overall, good service, good food, above average prices, and minuscule portions. Not bad Tataki!

Yelp
Had octopus balls and chicken Ramen. Both were good and price was fair. When I'm in the mood, I'll go back.

Yelp
Ordered through uber eats - Ramen was ok but they forgot my egg and chili oil :( which are both essentials for my ramen

Angelette A.

Yelp
Food was very good and hot. I ordered the spicy garlic ramen and it was good, it could have been a little spicier though and I also got the tempura shrimp which was very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

David C.

Yelp
Food is delicious and well prepared. We have ordered pick up several times and have enjoyed it. I especially like the kani salad. Their ramen dishes with fish cake remind of my days working in a Japanese restaurant in Manhattan.

Abay T.

Yelp
Located in the heart of Drexel's campus, this ramen spot really outdid itself for a college town restaurant. I ordered the Spicy Garlic Ramen, and was very pleased. The broth was complex yet refined. They truly did take spicy to its full extent, as i finished a few glasses of water eating this ramen. I do wish the broth came out hotter. I think the portion size was great, with enough left for me to take some home. Their sushi rolls were also good. I do wish the price was a little lower given the location, but the interior of the restaurant looks great and the staff is welcoming.

Yelp
Enjoyed a great special that included a soup, dessert, and appetizer for $20! Clean, cute decor, low key ramen joint! Went in for lunch and had fast, kind service. Delicious food! Would recommend!
