At Terra Plata, their upstairs herb garden makes paying $22 for brunchtime manchego biscuits and chorizo gravy not frustrating at all. It’s a pretty easy morning party to throw together with reservations. "Chef Tamara Murphy is gone, but her restaurant remains an oasis shielded from the usual Capitol Hill busyness. There’s still paella on Mondays, the roast pig still shines, and the rooftop deck is still there. At this Spanish-leaning spot on Capitol Hill, you should exercise your brunch rights during summertime only. Refreshing mimosa drinks feature cava, which is a heck of a lot better than the cheap stuff you’ll find elsewhere. "If you get less vitamin D than one of those organisms that live near the ocean floor, a brunch on Terra Plata’s rooftop garden should help you feel like a functioning human again when the weather warms up. The Spanish-leaning menu is excellent across the board, though be sure to prioritize manchego biscuits with tangy chorizo gravy or tender green chili pork with hominy and feta. "Colorful, vibrant dishes fill the menu at the late Seattle culinary legend Tamara Murphy’s farm-to-table restaurant, from the pan roasted morel mushrooms with grilled asparagus and duck egg to the roast pig with manila clams. There’s paella on Mondays, an excellent brunch on the weekends, and a partnership with the Food Is Love Project to feed those in need.
