The History of the Fresno Chile Pepper | Eater

"A restaurant carved out of a family banquet-hall space still retains the original diner counter but now centers on a pizza oven and a large wood grill; the chef sources local produce and almond wood for the grill and occasionally features Fresno chiles on salads and pizzas, reflecting a commitment to regional ingredients and highlighting an underappreciated local pepper." - Ryan Bradley

Came here for a date night with my boyfriend for the first time and everything was astounding. Firstly, the pasta is handmade and the texture of the lamb ragu was amazing and addictive. The appetizers are delicious and portion sizes are generous. The environment is more loud than it is calm and quiet but that means business is booming. Also the service was attentive. My boyfriend also said they have the best water he has ever tasted lol I think he had over 25 refills throughout the night. We'll be back and I can't wait to try more of the food! Try the truffle fries! There is a bit of a wait but it's so worth it! Drinks are tasty too!

Google
The food was amazing. I chose a pasta dish and the noodles were so tender, definitely fresh. The sauce was incredible. We also tried the short ribs and a fig appetizer which did not disappoint. Don't skip dessert, a perfect ending to the meal! You will need to make a reservation way in advance as they are extremely popular and it requires a miracle to get in last minute.

We have heard such great buzz about them and they DEFINITELY did not disappoint. The hype is justified!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We were a party of four, we all ordered something different, we tried two different cocktails, 1 recommended white wine and 3 different desserts, EVERYTHING was on point, amazing and super delicious!!! Our server was EXCELLENT, very attentive, he checked on us as cocktails/wine came out, our entrée and then desserts. He always made sure everything was good and had good recommendations. The vide was awesome, good music, perfect volume and the pace of our experience was just right. I can't wait to go back and more of their delicious options!!! 😋

Google
So so so good. Everything we had was phenomenal, they do have some things that rotate on the menu so if there’s something you want to try, I recommend going for it. Had no reservations, walked in around 5pm on a Saturday, were very lucky to get seated at the bar (3 of us). Service was outstanding, one of the dishes was delayed and they gave us complimentary meatballs. I had the lamb Ragu - amazing. Others had the seafood pasta that was also very good, and the bucatini.

Google
Great service and food. The arancini was good but the meat sauce was better. I had the Diavola Pizza, it was a perfect balance of flavors and heat. My wife had the Fresno State corn pasta. She enjoyed the creamy, sweet taste. However, I enjoyed the service which was exceptional.

Okay guys now, I’m not going to lie…. I’m a picky eater. But this is one restaurant that I will happily visit to dine out! I desire an uplifting yet serene and genuine atmosphere, and this restaurant offers just that! Great people, great food, great drinks and gorgeous establishment, all in all would recommend! Kendall will welcome you graciously, she is so very kind! Micheal is a fantastic waiter, as is Shelby (waitress) and Noah (the manager) will always be sure you are having the desired experience 😌 last but certainly not least.. Trevor will do you up a delicious pizza, just how you want it! (If you wish to take one to go, he will par-bake it for you and leave instructions on the box!)☺️ My recommendation: Margarita Pizza, salad of your choice (they are all superb can’t go wrong!) with a glass of Prosecco 👌🏼

Anechia M.

Google
It’s one of my favorite restaurants in Fresno. The appetizers are top tier. My favorites are the arancini, burrito and stone fruit, meatballs , and the bone marrow. The bone marrow is not on the menu all the time. My all time favorite dish in the Fresno State Corn agnolotti. It’s literally perfect and seasonal. Restaurant is rustic and beautiful but can be a little loud when it’s full which is all the time. I would like to see the regular drink menu include a few more cocktails. The firecracker cocktail is my go to there and it never disappoints but it does get spicy!

Google
We love coming to the Annex kitchen for appetizers and pizza. The meatballs are amazing and the kale salad is incredible....and I never thought I would ever say that! Everything we have ever ordered here is enjoyable to the palate. Highly recommend!

Yelp
The Annex Kitchen remains one of Fresno's true culinary gems, and after my most recent visit, I was reminded exactly why the drive from Clovis is always worth it. I had made a reservation and was initially disappointed to learn that only "pizza counter" seating was available. To my surprise, it turned out to be a highlight of the evening. For smaller parties (2-3 people), I now highly recommend it. Watching the chefs craft pizzas and other dishes for the stone oven felt like dinner and a show (an insider's secret that makes the experience even more special.) The Annex strikes a perfect balance between upscale refinement and a relaxed, inviting atmosphere. The low lighting, thoughtful design, and lively buzz make it equally suited for an indulgent weekday dinner or a celebratory night out. For a Tuesday evening, the restaurant was absolutely packed; but that's no surprise here. The consistent crowd speaks volumes about the level of execution and hospitality. Our server was attentive and warm, striking the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness. He checked in regularly without ever feeling intrusive--a small detail that elevated the entire experience. We began with their seasonal mushroom pizza, blistered beautifully in the stone oven with a crisp yet tender crust. It paired wonderfully with a curated charcuterie board of artisanal meats and cheeses. For the adventurous, I highly recommend the bone marrow; this was my first time trying it here, and it was outstanding. Rich, silky marrow spread onto toasted sourdough with a touch of butter was decadent without being overwhelming. For entrées, the braised steak (cooked a flawless medium-rare) arrived with tender Italian-style broccoli, offering a rustic yet elevated combination. The Fresno State corn pasta was another standout: bright, sweet, and creamy in a way that showcased the quality of local produce. To complement our meal, we enjoyed a bottle of wine, but I have to highlight their house-made soft drinks. The blood orange soda in particular is fantastic; refreshing, slightly tart, and a perfect non-alcoholic option for designated drivers or anyone who prefers to skip the wine list. From the kitchen staff to the front-of-house team, The Annex consistently delivers excellence. It's no exaggeration to say this is one of the top restaurants in the Central Valley. Whether you're a local or just passing through Fresno, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. Trust me--you won't regret it.

Yelp
World-class customer service. There were some mix ups with our two entrees and one drink, but when we had brought it to the attention of our server, the team was diligent in making sure everything was made right and we were taken care of. They have outstanding respect for their customers and went out of their way to correct the mistakes by providing an extra treat and many apologies. The team was wonderful and a joy. Our server's name was Garret and I didn't get the name of the bar manager, but get these two men a raise!

Yelp
Seriously, it was over the top! We were able to get a last minute reservation on a Saturday night because someone else had cancelled. A stroke of luck. We arrived at 6:45pm - the dining room was packed and the bar was full. It was loud - probably the only hiccup in an otherwise delightful and delicious evening. Wish I'd hadn't been so distracted by the food - forgot to take photos. All of the staff was smiling and cordial. Our server, Nick, has worked at Annex since it opened. Although, I think he said he's taken some time away. The busperson, Miguel, was so friendly and accommodating - we thanked him again and again. We shared the Arugula salad with radicchio, shaved parmigiano, and lemon vinaigrette. It was absolutely perfect. And then a handcrafted house pizza - SPICY SOPPRESSATA , mozzarella, fontina, gorgonzola, red onion, and calabrian honey was outstanding. There were only crumbs left behind. I wish we'd had room for dessert - the ricotta donuts sounded divine. Next time. We enjoyed conversations with the 4-top sitting next to us. Obvioiusly locals and very much regulars at the Annex. It was a memorable evening on our Fresno stay.

Yelp
I've been here several times. My most recent visit, I sat at the Pizza Counter. I saw everyone working hard and they kept cool under pressure. I also saw the chef rejecting food and recooking. That explains the consistency and perfection that I've experienced throughout all my visits. Everything I've had here is amazing. I love the seasonal agnolotti pasta. The Fresno state corn is my favorite. I will come back as often as I can when it's on the menu.

Yelp
One of the first places on my list to try when I landed here in Fresno. This place never disappoints. I had a dinner partner today and we ordered the steak fiorentine. Took a lil convincing to get them from ordering the ribeye but they were so happy they ventured out. We sat next to a ver nice couple the duplicated our almost exact order but they added the Fresno corn agnolotti dish. They were so nice in giving us a taste. It was incredible! I don't even know how to describe these tender lil pillows of flavor. Fresno state corn is good but whatever Annex does to it makes it even better. The corn is seasonal dish so get it while you can and enjoy! Stick me with a fork, I'm done.

Yelp
Always a great time here. One of my favorite restaurants in fresno. The fresno state corn agnolotti is my favorite but it's seasonal. Great date vibe or for hanging with friends

Yelp
Hangar steak was pretty good with the truffle fries. Kind of expensive overall but tasty food which is what really matters. Steak cooked properly, decent portion of fries. Take out order was on time, they forgot cutlery which was a bummer but easy. Very busy and a fun place inside, atmosphere wise
google avatar

Yelp
The pasta and pizza we ordered were pretty good!! We also picked a beer and two other drinks out, definitely enjoyed it all :) Employees were all very nice as well!!

Yelp
My wife and I had given up on eating out much these days as it seems most restaurants don't care about service, value and especially the food anymore. So, we generally eat at home these days. We decided to try the Annex as we had heard good things about their hanger steak and the Fresno State sweet corn agnolotti. My wife and I split the agnolotti as an appetizer and shared some of their home-made bread with butter and olive oil with balsamic for dipping. what an amazing and delicious start. We were blown away by the flavors. We both ordered the hanger steak, my wife with the crispy potatoes and me with the cheesy polenta. the steak was perfectly cooked and again had amazing flavor. We were both very impressed. Almost stuffed but thinking that we had already come this far; we had to see what they were offering for dessert? Our waitress suggested the blueberry and blackberry crisp. Oh, my goodness. This came with a scoop of Ampersand Whiskey Vanilla ice cream in the middle of crunchy baked polenta atop these wonderful warm slightly tart berries. What a wonderful food experience, all nestled in a charming ambience of plenty of staff all working as a collective group to make me rethink my opening statement. Well done.

Yelp
Kale salad is out of this world. May not sound good but it's a must try. Food is always on point.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place, but I just don't. If I'm going to spend this kind of money on a meal, I want it to knock my socks off, and this place does not do that. It is nice inside and the people are friendly, so there's that. We ordered the Arancini for an hors d'oeuvre and it was pretty tasty, but a few of them were cold in the middle. When I told the waiter this, he just responded that he would tell the chef. I expect more from a restaurant like this. We then ordered the braised, short rib and the Tagliolini. They were both fine, but not incredible. And they did not even bring me bread until I asked. I have now been there twice, and I've come to the same conclusion both times. I'm done.
google avatar

Yelp
Fun place. Food is delicious...it's a little loud but we didn't mind! Community table is fun to sit at!
google avatar

Teri S.

Yelp
Service was top-tier. Food wise, I had the sliced hanger steak which was well-prepared, I just didn't care for the balsamic flavor (which I found overwhelming.) My daughter had the margherita pizza but ate only one slice. She didn't like the pizza at all but I thought it was very tasty. I ended up eating the rest of it on my own! I'll definitely try another one of the wood fired pizzas when I go back. They have some very fun cocktails available, but the one I ordered was too strong--nobody's fault, I just don't like drinks where you can really taste the alcohol. I am looking forward to going back and trying some of their other offerings, but next time I may go with friends. It wasn't a menu my 14-year old daughter really connected with
google avatar

Lawrence N.

Yelp
The food was absolutely fabulous. My wife had the Summer Margarita pizza and I had the Tagliolini. Both were fantastic.

Yelp
The Annex kitchen was awesome! The food was good the environment was awesome. Nice mid century style restaurant.

Yelp
This former coffee shop located near the Piccadilly Inn has been renovated with booths replaced by tables and natural wood-finished chairs and a kitchen anchored on one side with an open flame roaster and a red brick wood-fired pizza oven. We hadn't been to this location in years, so the change was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant itself is underscored in appearance on the outside with only a Pardini's Catering sign out front, with The Annex sign in black metal letters on the red brick facade and a neon red letter A to tell you that you're at the right place. The friendly hostesses are there to greet you immediately after you enter, but know that the wait area is simply a bench near the entrance. It didn't matter because I was seated within a minute of my arrival even though I was 15 minutes early to our reservation and the first of my party to arrive. If you didn't know it, this is an Italian restaurant. The menus are adorned with food and beverages in Italian. The pizzas are wood-fired and the pastas are freshly made.

Yelp
Katie Katie Katie!!! Thank you for making mine and my boyfriend's 6 year anniversary special! I have been dying to eat here for a few years now, but never having a reservation had discouraged me. We came in around 6 expecting a long wait, but to our surprise the wait was fairly quick for a Friday night, I believe it was a rare occasion. The menu had great variety to it which means I'll have to keep coming again! and again! For our Appetizer we had a burrata cheese with egg plant mixture that was phenomenal. I didn't know I liked eggplant til today! for our drinks the lovely Katie brought us Prosecco on the house for our anniversary that ended up being my personal favorite. So thank you again Katie! We both enjoyed the Firecracker cocktail, we enjoy our vodka, and it was tasty and they even accommodated to my boyfriend's slight MINT allergy! (Our fault for not paying attention to our order) For our entrees my partner order the Hanger Steak with Potatoes and that was delicious! My partner ordered his medium so I'd say if you like it a bit more cooked lean towards medium well (Managed to snag a few bites) I had the Salmon and Potatoes which I also found delicious! (He snagged a few bites and agreed!) overrall I have to say we really enjoyed the Annex Kitchen. Probably my new favorite spot, and like I said Katie provided us with the best service on such a special day. Also the dark vibe inside the restaurant that they share with the red room next vibe sets such a mood that takes you back in time. The one thing I found okay was the dessert at the end! We got a chocolate mousse thing and it was subpar to everything else Other than that we will be back to try all the other menu items I promise!

Adolfo G.

Yelp
My wife and I I have been coming to annex for a while specifically for the fresh fire wood pizzas. We decided to bring some friends so they can experience the environment and get a taste of what we love. Upon arrival, the server took her time to ask us for drinks (about 15 minutes). Once we ordered drinks we specifically asked for bread and butter. We arrived at 9:30pm and didn't get our drinks until 9:50 and didn't get our cold bread and butter until 10:20pm. I thought it would be a fresh loaf for the reason of it taking so long but it was cold.. Once we finally received our pizzas there were unfortunately some inconsistencies. Too much sauce cause the pizza to be soggy with zero crunch like we normally receive it. Unfortunately due to the lack of service and inconsistent delivery I won't be coming back.

Yelp
If I could give out Michelin stars, I'd hand one to Annex Kitchen! On a weekday night, same day reservations were a breeze. My bf and I ordered the.... 1) Butternut Squash Agnolotti: wouldn't change a thing about it. I'd argue this was a Michelin deserving dish! The balsamic? The crispy sage? The sweet squash filling? YUMMY! It was the best thing we had tonight. 2) Creste Di Gallo: HEARTY, HEAVY & TRUFFLY! Pasta is a perfect al dente and the sausage was a nice protein addition. Between the two we liked the butternut pasta more. 3) Local figs and ricotta: yummy, but kinda... underwhelming?? It's a simple dish and it's good, but probably wouldn't order again. 4) Affogato: a classic! I love that they use local ice cream from Ampersand
google avatar

Yelp
We came here after the place across the streets kitchen was unexpectedly closed. They said the wait was long but they called us in 30 minutes to sit in the back alcove. It was a little dark back there but we didn't care. Our waitress was amazing and super knowledgeable. She helped us pick drinks and appetizers. The truffle fries were insane and the aioli was to die for. The risotto balls were incredible. The pizza was delicious and the drinks were so good. We would definitely come back here!
google avatar

Bryan A.

Yelp
One of the best restaurants in Fresno. The place is always packed so get reservations . The service is phenomenal. The employees always check on you and the food came out fast. The restaurant itself is clean, great atmosphere, and not loud. The food is top tier. Every thing looked tempting but we ended up with the steak and salmon. Side note get the truffle fries.
google avatar

Edison H.

Yelp
Man we messed up not making a reservation first for Saturday night. It was going to be close to 2 hour wait. Lucky for us, some diners ended up not showing up and we got their bar seats. The restaurant looks nice! I like their bar setup and how they use a wood fire oven. This made it easier for me to stick with my pizza order. The staff were all super friendly and made sure we were comfortable the whole time.

Adelita H.

Yelp
the food was exquisite the service top notch the atmosphere happy good energy the kale salad superb the roasted chicken a chefs kiss the salmon the best i've ever had... bar none! good job everyone!!

Yelp
The Corn Agnolotti is my favorite summer meal! Every bite melts in your mouth! We are also a big fan of the mushroom pizza and the short ribs! This is high quality, creative food!
google avatar

Mike S.

Yelp
Came here again with family. Great restaurant and atmosphere. Nice place for a date as well. Had the corn agnolotti as this is a seasonal dish but it's amazing! A must try!. Settled with the short rib for dinner which was delicious as well.

Yelp
Have been here a few times now. Always need a reservation especially on weekend. Not open on Sunday or Monday. Their consistently excellent dishes are the pastas which are homemade. Tagliatelle lamb ragu is always decadent and so good. Squid ink linguine when available is also delicious- clams, briney seafood pairs so well with the pasta. The sweet corn pasta in the summer is so unique and also rich yet light. Have tried their burrata appetizer which can never go wrong with- grilled bread is always a treat but can also ask for some regular bread, which is nice to sop up any juices or sauces. Recent mussel spicy tomato broth with sausage was nice and had a hint of heat. Desserts can be hit or miss. The polenta berry crumble when in season is excellent. Recent Apple crisp was good but not the most unique and not worth the price tag. Cocktails are usually excellent. Recent tropical Negroni was very very unique- Smokey and not too sweet but just sweet enough if regular Negronis are too strong. Ambiance- can get quite loud with the music and the acoustics in the restaurant. Seating can also be very cramped or tight depending on which table. Service usually very attentive and professional from all staff. Hostesses can be fairly polite though few can be a bit aloof.
google avatar

Matthew G.

Yelp
I'd give this place 3.7 stars. ordered arancini and carbonara pizza. arancini were great. carbonara pizza was good too but mostly because the flavors work, not because of how it was made. the pizza felt heavy, it had a lot going on, very meat forward. It was good, don't get me wrong. I would give it a B though. Not the best carbonara pizza. didn't blow my mind in the sense of flavors being balanced
google avatar

Jennifer G.

Yelp
This has become one of my favorite dinner spots. The food is always delicious, with the truffle fries, kale salad and bucatini and tagliolini pastas being my go to orders here. I recently tried the rigatoni and it was so rich in flavor! The service has vastly improved since I first started coming as well. Reservations are a must since this place is always bustling. It can be noisy at times but that's to be expected at a restaurant as busy as this one.

Yelp
Fantastic Food & Service at the Bar! I had an amazing experience at The Kitchen Annex, sitting at the bar and enjoying top-notch service from Andrew and Tyler. These two bartenders were incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. They made the experience feel personal and welcoming, which is exactly what you want when dining at the bar. The hanger steak was cooked to perfection--juicy, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Pairing it with an **Old Fashioned** was a fantastic choice--the cocktail was expertly crafted, perfectly balanced, and one of the best I've had in a long time. Great atmosphere, outstanding service, and incredible food & drinks. Whether you're grabbing a bite solo or with friends, I highly recommend sitting at the bar and letting Andrew and Tyler take care of you! Can't wait to come back!

M. M. M.

Yelp
Very loud! Not a good place if you want to have conversation. You have to yell to hear each other, and on top of that the chef is yelling so you can hear him across the room too. It's over the top the noise level. I'd like to see them invest in some acoustic sound board to control the noise. No question on the food, it's always excellent.
google avatar

Abigaile W.

Yelp
The ambiance is good. It's a woodfired, brick oven pizza place and I thought the way the space was decorated and somewhat dimly lit matched that well. The food was amazing. I'm an arancini junky and was not disappointed. These arancini had pesto inside and were delicious and complemented the gooey cheese well. I'm not a fan of burrata but even I have to say it was plated beautifully and my sister and her fiancé enjoyed it. The service was good overall but a bit rushed at times.

Yelp
Hadn't been here in quite sometime and now wish we had come back sooner. We made a last minute reservation that put us at a high top pizza station, which turned out to be incredible. These guys work like a well oiled machine and it was a lot of fun to watch. My go to appetizer is the Arancini, which is filled with a pesto risotto. My wife chose the bone barrow, which I have never ordered because of the gelatinous texture, BUT it was incredible! The depth of flavor was great. For entrees, she did a sweet pea agnolotti. She loved it. I don't like peas, so one taste and I was good. I had the tagliatelle with lamb ragu. Pasta was cooked perfectly. Lamb was good, but a little gamey. Can't wait to come back sooner than later.

Yelp
The Annex Kitchen is a great restaurant that feels like it belongs in a big city. They do get pretty busy and tables are close together. Staff are generally friendly. I've been a longtime customer for years. Noah, the manager, is amazing and always provides excellent service and experience. Some of my favorites include the famous sweet corn agnolotti, the steak, prosciutto and goat cheese pizza and arugula salad. The butternut squash agnolotti in the fall is also delicious.
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
This is a one of a kind experience! Whenever someone visits from out of town I bring them here. The bone marrow is one of my favorites! It is perfectly carmelized and the accompaniments are perfect! Their brick fired pizza is next level. They also have a great bar and bartenders! I am an old fashioned loving guy, when I asked for one, the bartender said, let me make you this craft cocktail, if you don't like it, I will make you an old fashioned. Tried it and it blew me away! They know from your tastes what you would like. Never had anything like it ever!
google avatar

Tracy L.

Yelp
Annex Kitchen is hands down one of my favorite restaurants in the Fresno area, as well as my parents! I would recommend making a reservation and do it at least a week in advance, because they run out of times very quickly! My family ordered the Meatball appetizer and then I ALWAYS order the Tagliatelle with Lamb Ragu. The meatballs were very moist and flavorful, and the crunchy bread on the side was perfect to dip into the tomato sauce. The Tagliatelle was also amazing! The meat is so tender and you can tell the noodles are fresh. The ambiance is perfect as well! Highly recommend this spot! *My one ding would be parking is sometimes difficult to find.
google avatar

James H.

Yelp
Love Fresno, because of their restaurants and people! The Annex Kitchen is an unbelievable restaurant with great creativity, e.g., grilled broccolini, wood-oven baked pizza's and their spin on chicken (literally the very best chicken I have ever had - throughout the world! All the staff are amazing, especially their professional barkeeps and mixologists. Try their Oleo Fashion or, even better, their Oleo Superiore (be careful, $40 per drink, but it's worth it!).
google avatar

Yelp
So glad to have made it back to dine inside. Everything was delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and efficient. Upbeat open seating and great bar seating.

Yelp
What a great place this is Modern restaurant with open kitchen, great looking bar, amazing food and great service Bravo

Yelp
Leave your condiments at home as chef dishes are so tasty and fresh! Every plate we ordered delighted our taste buds. Perfect portions. Order family style so you can taste more options! Be sure to make reservations ( 15 minute grace period) as it's a Fresno hot spot! Friendly attentive service. Tables are cleared quickly and are kept clean.

Yelp
My favorite place to eat the hanger steak and broccoli are the absolute best !! Definitely will be back and I definitely recommend!
google avatar

Caitlin A.

Yelp
If you want to come to annex, you need to book a reservation in advance! Some of our favorites dishes include the arancini, meatballs, carbonara pizza, and the corn pasta (seasonal). The corn pasta is so unique and a must try! For cocktails, try a firecracker it has the perfect amount of spice!
google avatar

Yelp
Strong contender for best restaurant in the valley. Everything is excellent, especially made from scratch pasta
google avatar

Yelp
Very popular place in Fresno (reservations are highly recommended). When walking to the restaurant, I can smell delicious wood-fire grilled food/pizza. Enjoy the variety of cocktails (old fashioned is strongly recommended). We ordered their Appetizer arancini with basil and tomatoes sauce (yes most order), corn homemade pasta. Carbonara pizza and grilled Salmon with broccoli onside (Salmon with perfect temperature)!!! Overall, we had a great memorable dining experience.

Yelp
We came every year to Annex kitchen on my birthday because they have the best seafood linguine in town and their Manhattan is the best. Just got out it was not disappointed. The food was awesome and the service was the best. It is a long drive from Northeast closed to Woodward Lake area but it is worth the driving. We have Anneso and the pizza is good. But Annex Kitchen is still the best.

Yelp
I'm conflicted about my experience at The Annex Kitchen. Made a reservation for dinner for my girlfriend's birthday. My overall takeaway: service was amazing, ambiance was nice. Sadly the food left me underwhelmed so I'm not sure if I can really recommend this place. Service: Our server was awesome. Super friendly, helpful, and often checked up on our table. Would refill my water without me having to ask (I drink so much water so I find this to be a green flag haha). I think his name is Garrett? Anyways he was the highlight of our night. Food/Drinks: - Truffle Fries: the aioli could've used more flavor. Fries could've had more salt. - Fusilli Pasta: Great dish. No complaints. Pasta came with chicken, herbs and pancetta. - Margherita Pizza: Biggest disappointment. The cheese and toppings kept falling and sliding off the pizza. Pizza felt mushy, undercooked, and lackluster in flavor. - Red wine: tasty and generous pour. Ambiance: Definitely on the nosier side but that's not necessarily a bad thing (at least for me) because it shows how lively the place is. Overall I'm not sure if I would return. Annesso Pizzeria in Fresno also serves similar food and I enjoyed their food more than here tbh. Big s/o to Garrett though. He saved our dining experience here.

Yelp
Let's start off with the place is small, hot, and congested with people just waiting by the front door they don't have a space to hangout and wait for your table. Secondly it was my friend and I first time there so made a reservation at the pizza bar and let me tell you don't do it unless you're cold blooded inside. I really thought it was going to be a great experience that's why I picked it. Oh boy was I wrong, the pizza guy was getting yelled out for not dishing them out fast enough, I have no idea if he was new or what. The space the oven has the bbq area is cramped and they just kept hitting each other I honestly don't like the set up and was waiting for an accident to happen. The girl was so quiet I couldn't hear her but my friend did so she ordered for us, we got the meatballs and shared them, they came out slightly warm and not crispy at all, it was as if you room them out of a boiling pot of water and set them down on a plate. The sauce was really good though, the bread was too. We finished that and ordered each a pizza, mind you this pizza is $21 dollars. I'm a sucker for pizza by the way that's why I ordered it. It was honestly way over priced for what it was, I've had specialty pizza before and this was a 6 out of 10. I also had seen my pizza sitting in the window because my friends wasn't ready yet, and that's a big negative for me. I did order a glass of wine and it was really good, I just wish the service was better. She never checked in, never asked what the occasion was. The manager sat a water pitcher in front of us so we didn't have to get waited on. And we sure didn't, it's really unfortunate when you go to a fancy restaurant and get extremely poor service. I just felt like they didn't care that we were there. I don't think I'd be coming back anytime soon.

Yelp
Booked a reservation for my birthday was greeted very nicely and congratulated on my birthday. Service was actually pretty well. Very attentive waitress. As far as table. No the best. I'm a tall guy and didn't have much room. Menu was ok I believe they had one burger option. And one decently priced steak. I went with the steak. 8oz hanger steak. I give it a 6.4/10 Ordered it medium but I'm not sure but when it came out it seemed below medium. I was hoping the sear carried it. Not so much. But it was still bearable. Ambiance was nice. But dark. Kind of funny to see the older people use their flash lights on their phones to read the menu. Overall Annex I give you a good 6. Maybe I'll come back and try the pizza or pasta.
