We had a nice dinner with our large party. It's a lovely addition to this area with a romantic ambiance. We shared many dishes amongst ourselves. Here is what I tried:
Shrimp & scallop verde--a bit tasteless and not worth the price for the amount. I felt a weird tang (like kombucha?) with some of the seafood, made me feel like it was possibly going bad.
Caesar salad with white anchovies--very interesting taste for the anchovies, they weren't nearly as salty as usual (this was a good thing for me!) and quite tasty!
Lobster burrata--the burrata itself was fabulous, super soft and an incredible amount to enjoy. There were chunks of lobster, but they didn't add any value to this dish imo.
Charred Spanish octopus--excellent dish, 5 stars. Loved the way this was prepared and presented.
Parker house pigs--this is a dud for me. Essentially mini sausages simply placed inside the rolls. The sausages were hard and lacked in taste. The rolls themselves were also lacking in flavor, were not buttery or fluffy at all. There was an aioli of some kind to dip these in, but I felt that it was completely unnecessary and would've much rather had simple butter (with a plain roll).
Beet salad--truly delicious! The beets were prepared perfectly and everything that they were paired with on the plate was excellent.
Chelsea's fries--well prepared fries with a plethora of goodies on top, but loaded fries aren't personally my jam (call me crazy, I know)
Lobster & shrimp pot pie--by the time I got to snag this dish from others, I think most (if not all!) the protein got swiped. That being said, the crust was ok and the other items fell flat for me. The vegetables/potatoes were cut way too big and the sauce was a bit too runny.
Basque style cheesecake--this is not a traditional American-style cheesecake. This reminds me of a real, homemade, European-style cheesecake that is smaller, fluffier, with less sugar. It's excellent!
Overall, the service was attentive, the decor is chic, the interior is spacious and clean, but the menu was a bit of a mish mash of items that weren't cohesive, though it was a variety.
