The 17 Hottest New Brunches in Houston, May 2024

"Housed in the new Montrose Collective, the Chelsea features one of the neighborhood’s hottest weekend brunches, available every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mimosas, bloody marys, and espresso martinis pair well with dishes like smoked salmon tartine with caper schmear or French toast sticks made of fried brioche, spiced maple cajeta, and sweet potato. Feeling more lunchy? The Chelsea brasserie burger, with lettuce, onion, and tomato on a brioche bun, is a welcome alternative." - Eater Staff

Pretend You’re in Barbie Land at These 13 Houston Restaurants and Bars

"This Montrose Collective beauty pays attention to detail, with attentive service, intricate place settings (check the turquoise napkins), and plenty of dishes to share. Treat yourself to champagne and oysters before graduating to a cocktail like the Sea Goddess, made with Townes vodka, lychee, and vanilla, and a frothy ube-ginger foam. Then, dig into plates like the lobster burrata, made with butter-poached lobster and pickled peaches, and the charred Spanish octopus served with salted sweet potato, salsa matcha, and a cashew miso yogurt." - Brittany Britto Garley

The Chelsea - Review - Montrose - Houston - The Infatuation

"From the people behind restaurants like Be More Pacific and Sushi Rebel, The Chelsea is an upscale bistro located in The Montrose Collective. In addition to a mile-long bar and a covered patio, expect a menu that includes oysters, crudos, jamón ibérico, brick chicken, and smoked pork chops. photo credit: Abante Photography" - Gianni Greene

I’ve been to The Chelsea five times and I loved it until my last visit this past Sunday, 12/2/23, for Breakfast at Tiffany’s event. I would suggest this restaurant on a normal day or happy hour. Their happy hour is one of my favorites. Most of their dishes are delicious and drinks are gorgeous and tasty. The decor is super cute and the staff is so attentive. It was unfortunate that I brought my girlfriends here this past weekend and experience really long wait for our drinks and food. It took over 50 minutes to get our drinks and when it was time to check out their system was down and could only take cash payment. We luckily had enough cash but did not receive an itemized receipt so figuring out how much for each person to pay was a mess. We also had to ask for things multiple times. It seemed that they were not prepared to serve as many people that attended the event.

The chef here definitely knows what they are doing! Food honestly exceeded expectations, everything was SO delicious! Best part was all the seafood was incredibly FRESH which is super important. We visited yesterday and ordered fresh oysters (fresh and well shucked), tuna tartare (one of the best I’ve had in Houston) octopus (perfectly charred), scallops (you get 2 and the sauce was SO GOOD), shrimp scampi (you get 4 and they were so perfectly grilled that somehow they tasted like they were poached in butter), and grilled snapper (skin was crisp and fish was super succulent). I forgot to take photos of the scampi and snapper before they were gone, it was that good. Yes the dishes are somewhat pricey for the portion size but it was honestly still well worth it for the flavors this chef created! The ONLY reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the bartender. Drinks tasted good but we were sitting at a table less than 10 ft IN FRONT OF the bar and yet the bartender had some kind of commentary about our drink order to the waiter EACH TIME we ordered, and she was SO LOUD…she commented on the liquor substitution I made, the type of drink my husband ordered, the number of shots requested, just had a comment about everything and it just wasn’t appreciated or the atmosphere we were looking for. And what kind of real bartender thinks a double bourbon on the rocks means 2 blocks of ice instead of 2 shots?? The waiter was great though and kept a good attitude despite the bartender’s “critiques,”which was appreciated.

My husband and I came for Happy Hour and left more than ecstatic. Chad has created a wonderful cocktail program. Beautiful colors, amazing balance, and high quality ingredients. Had a couple oysters, bread, fries, and dessert. Next time we come we will actually try the food so we have some real feedback on the food.

Great new dinner spot in the Montrose Collective! The space is modern and features an amazing bar, along with really cute in and outdoor seating. When you walk in you’re met with a wonderful scent that takes your mind to vacation. The staff here were incredible. Chelsea was knowledgeable and engaging, and mad respect for her hustle! Their Level 3 sommelier, Gharret, was walking the floor introducing himself and on point with the recommendations. The owners are there and clearly dedicated to making and keeping this restaurant a hit. The space filled up quick so definitely recommend making a reservation. We tried a few different martinis and all of them were very tasty, unique, and the flavors were balanced appropriately. All of the food was excellent; my only recommendation would be to change the name of the fish and chips (which sounds like that’s already in the plans after a quick chat with the owners). When we return, we’ll be getting two orders of the lamb ribs for sure! The only other feedback I would provide would be to move the oyster selection to a separate daily oyster menu as they come in fresh daily; what’s pictured on the main menu may not be what’s truly available. Excellent food, drink and service and will definitely be back! Cheers to The Chelsea’s successful launch!

Google
The atmosphere is cute. Everything takes too long to come to the table and our server forgot some food items, additional silverware and water at times. Food was average. I would come again if someone was having an event to celebrate but I wouldn’t come on my own. Also, how are you attached to a garage but not validate parking, only valet? That was pretty annoying.

Google
A few of my girls and I finally tried The Chelsea and it definitely did not disappoint. 😋 I can tell the chefs and owners put a lot of thought into every detail with this beautiful restaurant. From the selections of tasty cocktails, to the turquoise napkins… everything was on point. We started off with champagne and oysters - such a delight, charred octopus was perfectly prepared, the beet salad was so flavorful, and the seafood pot pie was flaky and delicious. I can’t wait to come back with my husband for a date night or happy hour. Oh and our valet was taken care of. 😊

New restaurant near Montrose area popped up about 5 months ago! I’ve been waiting and now it is here!! Beautiful mixed-use building that has a nice, modern, earthy vibe with natural wood and greenery around. When you go in, you are greeted by a friendly hostess. We were there for dinner, so lighting was adjusted to cater to the ambiance..very warm and inviting. The staff and manager were very attentive and checked in periodically without feeling overwhelmed and bombarded. Food came out within reasonable time. Now on to the main stars…the food! I loved the choices the May suggested, which was the grouper and the crab squid ink noodles. The fish was cooked beautifully, but I would have like if they cooked the skin a bit more to add that crisp crunch. The dish was well balanced with starchy and greens and then the sauce was a great compliment. I liked the crab dish better, probably because of the sauce and lump crab meat. It was oil-based, so it was the glue that tied all the multi-dimensional spices. Great job!! To top off the evening, we got a chocolate, toasted marshmallow mousse. It was a great highlight to end the night! ChowChow Time!!

Google
The chelsea is a stylish and quaint lounge-like restaurant serving up tasty bites and delicious cocktails. Their staff is very pleasant and accommodating. The design of the restaurant speaks for itself, with its dim lighting and modern decor. They do the classic cocktails right, with their specialty being martinis. All their food is delicious, particularly their east coast oysters. The beet and whipped feta salad was delicious as well, you must try it. Their happy hour at the bar is one of the best in the city and being open late on the weekends gives time for a night cap in the montrose neighborhood. Love this addition to the collective.

Yelp
The food was just a good as my last visit and I tried something new - French toast. It was actually pretty good. This visit was overall good, but not as amazing as the last time. The waiter seemed a little new and very quiet, but he was nice. I didn't like that we had to ask about the champagne birthday toast, even though we said we were celebrating a birthday. Also, they stopped the pigs in the blanket and that's what I was looking forward to the most. Otherwise, I'd go back.

Yelp
Throughly enjoyed it! Super cute interior decor, great for photo ops. Got to enjoy the last day of the menu of the season. Menu seems to change every once in awhile. So always a surprise! Started out with some Canadian east coast oysters. Quite fresh and tasted good with all of the accompaniments. Next was the calamari, they were fried perfectly and seasoned well and paired nicely with a creamy aioli. After that we also got the broccolini. Roasted well and was crispy and cheesey. For the mains, ordered the crab bucatini (made with fresh squid ink pasta + mushrooms and huge lumps of crab). Could tell it was made in house and loved the generous amount of crab that was given. Another main course, was the lobster pot pie. Great flavors, HUGE portion and the puff pastry was nicely baked and meshed well with the creamy pie filling. For dessert, got the basque cheesecake and it was a great ending to our meal (they don't comp for birthdays) but did throw in a glass of champagne. Parking - complimentary valet (they will validate at the restaurant with a QR code for you to scan). Restrooms - semi clean. Black toilet seats were different. Would like to come back for some brunch!

Yelp
The food was okay. We tried various dishes for brunch. Our server seemed to be in a different place. He showed no interest and was very unattentive. The place itself was a total vibe. They had a Dj and the drinks were flowing. Such a cute spot. I would only probably come for drinks and enjoy the patio vibes.

Yelp
First things first, give my girl Alyssa a raise. That's it. That's the review because phewwww. You want to talk about STELLAR customer service from start to finish....it was my girl. So many servers and wait staff could learn A LOT from her but I guess I should tell y'all why everything else was great. Alright so boom, my friend and I had just left church and we wanted to do brunch. I've had The Chelsea on my list for a while but for some reason, never made it here. I had her call to see if they had availability for two and they certainly did. We got there within 10 mins, gave the car to valet, which is complimentary btw, and went right in. I'm a sucker for an aesthetically pleasing restaurant and The Chelsea gave me just that. We were one of two other tables at the time so it was nice to have the place almost to ourselves for the first 30 mins of our meal. Alyssa (ugh such a sweetheart), came over to the table, introduced herself and dropped off some menus for us. We ordered hot tea (wish they had green tea as an option) and for my meal, I went with the lobster & waffles. Our meal came out in about 15 mins but sadly, mine was a bit cold. Alyssa, with no hesitation, had the kitchen remake my meal and it was much better!! The lobster was tasty (wish I got a bit more) and not too bad for the price point of $26. The brunch menu is good but limited so don't come here expecting a Cheesecake Factory type of menu. I enjoyed everything about this experience! I already reserved a table for dinner with my girls here this coming week. Can't wait to see what their dinner is like.

Yelp
What a perfect first experience at The Chelsea!!! I met up with someone here for dinner and drinks and I so loved the vibe! Initially, I was anxious about parking so I called beforehand. They do have a complimentary digital valet service so it was easy! The restaurant is in the Montrose Collective structure and easy to find. My initial reaction upon seeing the place was WOW! From the decor, color motif and adorning pieces and eclectic atmosphere, I knew I was going to have a good night! I was greeted and seated at a booth - made a reservation prior. It wasn't busy on a Tuesday night - just a couple corporate people enjoying drinks at the bar - so it felt more private. I ordered an espresso martini to start! This is my fave drink. Amir, our server, asked if I wanted it with Vodka or Tequila and I was surprised! Didn't know I could have it with Tequila, so I tried it! It actually had an extra kick! Loved it! Food wise, ordered Smoke Fish Toast and Short Rib to share. Soooooo delicious!!!! My favorite was our dessert - Choux Choux's which are assorted profiteroles! What I liked about it is the presentation which quite reminds me of a tea party!!! Super pretty! Service was really good and engaging! I think this is a new favorite spot for mw and will definitely come back here to try other stuff! I really liked the cozy, romantic ambiance it offered!! Prices are at par, as well!

Yelp
Visited during the first few weeks and they were already doing great! Beautifully appointed space with lots of seating options (booths, tables, bar, etc). We tried a bunch of things on the menu and I enjoyed all the dishes. Everything was fresh and executed well; the scallops and jamon iberico were my favorites. It is a bit pricey which can be typical for the area. Valet is right out front but it can get crowded really quickly as it's just off the street and can clog up Westheimer. I prefer the parking garage on Grant just next door.

Yelp
Dined in on a Wednesday at 11:30 am with a party of four. The place was empty so we were seated immediately. Right when you walk in, the Santal scent knocks you upside the head. We asked the waiter to unplug the scent, and he agreed it was very strong. The decor gives French Riviera chic feels We ordered: Caesar salad: great dressing, anchovies were a tad salty East coast oysters: good Parker house pigs: the bread was burnt and hard, sausage was good Tuna tartare: very good flavors and fresh tuna Smoked salmon tartine: super salty, nothing special, lacked flavor Croque Madame: bread was too thick, no flavor Shakshuka: very good, the best dish Sea goddess cocktail: super strong on the vodka, the ube foam was overpowering, and dripping everywhere The bouquet cocktail: very good

Yelp
Went for a happy hour event. It's a nice place with a nice location in the Montrose Collective. They validate valet parking. They have a weekday happy hour from 3-6. They have a lot of fun cocktail options and a few mocktails. There can be a little bit of a wait for drinks it seems, so keep that in mind if trying to order for happy hour. The food is good as well and worth a visit. The place has a more upscale feel with a lot of golden trim and marble. The place is newer and opened pretty recently. I will be back to try more of the food then will update y'all on it.

Yelp
Lates arrival at the Montrose collective! Love the ambience here, modern chic. Came in for dinner in a Sunday night- and clearly the Chelsea is yet to be discovered. Left a good enough impression that I would be keen to return for dinner/hh again! Our server was Guiser who was friendly and helpful, coming through with the recs. Our group of 4 ended up with a heap of shareable small plates and 1 large plate. Cocktails are fun- the Sea Goddess being one of the most unique with the Ube foam. HH def worth it for the drinks! No one else serves squash blossoms so I figured that was a must try- felt like it needed a little extra punch of flavour but overall enjoyable as were all the small plates we had!

Yelp
Cute restaurant located in the Montrose Collective. Valet is available and self parking in the underground garage is convenient. I love a traditional caesar salad (with anchovies) and theirs didn't miss. However my main entree, the wagyu steak frites, was an epic FAIL. The presentation was terrible; all of the food was beige and served on a white plate. The au poivre sauce broke so it looked clumpy and visually unappealing. The steak itself didn't appear to have rested properly because it bled out all over the plate. There also was some sort of issue with the chef and 2 other employees who decided to have an escalated conversation in front of patrons instead of taking it to the back. Overall I'm just disappointed that I didn't have the great experience others had. The things I experienced can be fixed by management so I may give them another shot in the future.

Yelp
The Chelsea is a stunning ambiance. Great place to bring out of town guests for a pre or post dinner drink! Hope to be back soon to try the food. The service was quick & the bartender was knowledgeable about all of the cocktails on the menu.

Yelp
My partner & I really enjoyed our time at The Chelsea! I can't believe I didn't know the place existed until he told me he made reservations. It had everything I personally enjoy from a DJ to live music AND of course the food. We went on a Sunday for brunch. Our server Nae was very friendly and she did a great job. The French toast sticks and ceviche oysters were my favorites. We got the mimosas because who has brunch without at least one mimosas. I assumed the French toast would be filling; however, it's a shareable dish so I had to share. Next time I'm not sharing. Lol!! Just kidding. Overall, the vibe, food, drinks, and service were a 10 out of 10 and I highly recommend. I'm definitely going back again. Kudos to everyone at The Chelsea.

Yelp
Came for Saturday brunch and it wasn't too busy. It took a while for a waiter to come and take our order. We got the French toast sticks which were soft and flavorful. The egg toast with roe was a unique dish and was really good. The potatoes were not seasoned at all, and I thought they were going to be crispy because they were cooked in duck oil but not crispy at all. Also came with a side of butter which was odd considering how oily they were. A sauce would have paired much better. Also the food came out separately, I wish they gave us an option to have it come out all at once to enjoy together.

Yelp
Love this place.. It has a great hh menu & a great ambience. The staff are also very kind! The Sea Goddess cocktail is SO GOOD! It has an ube foam! Will be back!

Yelp
Decor: lovely, soothing and check out the larger framed photos ...... then look again! Service: very good! The food...... fantastic! The Seafood Pot Pie with shrimp, scallops, lobster, potato, English peas, mushrooms, and a fresh pate brisee pie crust was loaded with seafood. The Shrimp & Scallop Verde with coconut leche de tigre, Thai basil, cilantro, chili crisp, black sesame, Persian cucumber was awesome! The Choux Choux's - assorted profiteroles, we're a fun way to wrap up the evening, served on the branches of a tree!
google avatar

Yelp
My mother and I tried it and thought the restaurant it's self is cute and photo worthy, the food just wasn't for us. It wasn't terrible, just didn't stand out to us. The drinks were cute, but lacked flavor in my opinion. The staff is very friendly, the place is very clean, decor is beautiful.
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute spot in montrose collective. We loved about half of the dishes we ordered but the other half were also not had. cocktails were well made. Service was great! Good for a date night or girls night. Complimentary valet. Make reservations.

Yelp
This restaurant just open two weeks ago Andy friends and I had been waiting to try so I'm glad we went. The service was great. Our waitress was Alyssa and she was patient and friendly and answered all our questions regarding the menu. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have some items I wanted to try. The lobster burrata being one of them. However we enjoyed the items we tasted. And the ambiance was nice. We had an early dinner but as the evening went on, the lighting changed which I could see being great on a date night. The music selection felt a little out of place but got better as the night went on. The cocktails were delicious and they offer plenty of options. Alyssa recommended her favorite drink which was a mezcal type of mimosa not on the menu. I ended up ordering the Pisco is Passion which was a passion fruit based drink that was refreshing. My favorite dish was the miso marinated chicken lollipops, the oysters Rivera, and the broccolini. I'm sort of a Crabcake snob so it was cool but I definitely have had better in my opinion. I definitely want to go back and try more items. The location is great. There is patio seating and I can see this place beings staple in the montrose collective.

Yelp
Service and Food was amazing! I tried this place when I was visiting Houston what a gem we found in Montrose! The ambience felt like proper restaurant and was greeted with some of the friendliest service ever (That southern hospitality!). The bar menu was top notch and had a mix of vodka/mescal cocktails they recommended and i was amazed on how delicious each one was! The food: I would suggest the steak tartare and the octopus was the highlight of the meal. I know some may say it's a little bit too saucy, but I enjoyed the sauces and the octopus was grilled to perfection! We also got the steak and lobster and both were good!
google avatar

Elizabeth O.

Yelp
Our service was great! Our waitress was very attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. The food was pretty average in my opinion. I ordered the crab Bettini for an entrée. It was a good portion. It could use a bit more flavor though. The chicken lollipops were as tender as I would have expected. But the sauce under it was very tasty. I got the chocolate mousse for dessert and it was amazing! I'd go back just for that.
google avatar

Lindsey L.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful, and the staff are amicable. You feel like you are dining along the ocean. The food and drinks were okay - nothing spectacular, in my opinion. I loved the calamari and the lobster tail curry. To note: - Service was a bit on the slow side. We waited a while for drinks to come out (but everyone that works there is friendly; it makes up for having to wait). - The portions are on the smaller side (especially if you are sharing) - Every item on the menu is pricey/overpriced for the area and menu. This being said, I would like to go back to try a happy hour to see if there are different drinks/dishes and more affordable options.

Yelp
Tonight we decided to try the brand new restaurant, The Chelsea, located in Montrose Collective. This area has a lot of great restaurants that have been opening so I was excited for another one. The ambience and aesthetic of the restaurant is super cute. I love the little details and the bar was stunning. The servers were also very attentive and polite. We had the anchovy Caesar salad, the octopus and the snapper to share. The Caesar salad was delicious. The snapper and octopus were okay. The octopus was over cooked although the dressing it comes with was super yummy and somewhat saved it. The snapper was decent but could have been packed with more flavor. I did enjoy the tomato sauce and grits that it came on top of. This restaurant hasn't been open for even a month, so I'm sure it will work out some of the kinks with the food. There were really a lot of great parts to the dining experience. Overall, I would like to come back in a few months and re-rate my experience!!

Yelp
Came here on a weekday evening and valeted the car (they validate). I started with the sea goddess cocktail, which had a beautiful presentation and initially amazing taste, but after some time, it started to smell a bit funky. My dining partner tried a mocktail, the soleil rose, which was light and refreshing. I had the salmon as a main, which was cooked very well, not fishy or overdone. The ambiance was lovely, and they had displays of classic art that rotated. Service was on point.

Yelp
We had a nice dinner with our large party. It's a lovely addition to this area with a romantic ambiance. We shared many dishes amongst ourselves. Here is what I tried: Shrimp & scallop verde--a bit tasteless and not worth the price for the amount. I felt a weird tang (like kombucha?) with some of the seafood, made me feel like it was possibly going bad. Caesar salad with white anchovies--very interesting taste for the anchovies, they weren't nearly as salty as usual (this was a good thing for me!) and quite tasty! Lobster burrata--the burrata itself was fabulous, super soft and an incredible amount to enjoy. There were chunks of lobster, but they didn't add any value to this dish imo. Charred Spanish octopus--excellent dish, 5 stars. Loved the way this was prepared and presented. Parker house pigs--this is a dud for me. Essentially mini sausages simply placed inside the rolls. The sausages were hard and lacked in taste. The rolls themselves were also lacking in flavor, were not buttery or fluffy at all. There was an aioli of some kind to dip these in, but I felt that it was completely unnecessary and would've much rather had simple butter (with a plain roll). Beet salad--truly delicious! The beets were prepared perfectly and everything that they were paired with on the plate was excellent. Chelsea's fries--well prepared fries with a plethora of goodies on top, but loaded fries aren't personally my jam (call me crazy, I know) Lobster & shrimp pot pie--by the time I got to snag this dish from others, I think most (if not all!) the protein got swiped. That being said, the crust was ok and the other items fell flat for me. The vegetables/potatoes were cut way too big and the sauce was a bit too runny. Basque style cheesecake--this is not a traditional American-style cheesecake. This reminds me of a real, homemade, European-style cheesecake that is smaller, fluffier, with less sugar. It's excellent! Overall, the service was attentive, the decor is chic, the interior is spacious and clean, but the menu was a bit of a mish mash of items that weren't cohesive, though it was a variety.

Yelp
Highly highly recommend this place. I am still thinking about the food. The ambiance is so pristine. It's definitely a place to go for a celebration (anniversary, birthday, promotion, etc). I would order 2-3 small plates per person and share. So good to go with a group 5-6 people to try more things. Literally everything was good especially the scallops!! Our server Né was the best service I've had in some time. I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
I visited the Chelsea today for the first time and had a really nice time at happy hour! It a very classy looking place with upscale vibes. My friend and I ordered cocktails, burgers, and oysters and enjoyed everything we had. The server was also very attentive and kind throughout our meal. If you're in the Montrose area during happy hour, it's not a bad place to stop by!

Yelp
Loving The Chelsea! Gorgeous decor and such a fun ambiance and vibe. Service is excellent- I would put it up there with Navy Blue- and staff is very friendly. We truly enjoyed everything we ordered- the food is very unique, flavorful, and fresh. For apps we had the snapper and melon crudo, calamari, lobster burrata, and Chelsea fries (which had roe- a dream dish!). Then we shared the lobster and shrimp pot pie and snapper for our mains. For dessert, the basque cheesecake was so delicious, but the Choux Choux's was such a pleasant surprise! It's a variety of fruit and chocolate profiteroles that come out on a gold stand- presentation on point! Also loved the gorgeous Sea Goddess cocktail- it's a beautiful purple from the Ube foam.

Yelp
The esthetics were the best part about this place. Our waiter wasn't knowledgeable, we sent one plate back cold, and the food (brunch) was very mediocre. I hate to say it, but I don't recommend.

Yelp
We had a good dinner at The Chelsea. We really liked the lively vibe of the restaurant, and the service was great too--very attentive but not overly so. The food wasn't mind-blowing, but it was very good. I liked the crab cakes, and the french fries are worth trying--I was wondering why the french fries were so expensive, and it turns out they are covered in a green goddess dressing and caviar! Even though it wasn't seafood, I loved the parker house rolls with sausage inside. The cheesecake for dessert was good too. Overall, The Chelsea is a good spot for a fun date night or dinner with friends.

Yelp
Over-hyped and underwhelming... came for Sunday brunch because I always walk by the chelsea and wanted to see what it was all about. It's a stunning venue without a doubt. Server started off by telling us the Cava + Juices flight was "half-off" for brunch, so of course we said hey why not? We were in-between choosing the French toast sticks or the Parker House Pigs as an appetizer and our server SOLD the Parker House Pigs, describing it in a way that it would blow our minds. We receive them and it's literally just tiny little dry kolaches essentially. Extremely underwhelming and definitely not worth its $19 price tag. For brunch entrees, I had gotten the Egg Sando ($15) and my other party got the steak Benedict (~$26). When you label something "Sando", I expect the traditional Japanese-style soft and fluffy sandwich. What I got was a basic egg sandwich. Truly nothing special...eggs, bacon, cheese, and some sort of herby spread. Again, very underwhelming. My other party was also extremely underwhelmed with her steak Benedict. Very small portions and the entrees didn't come with any sides, so they look so tiny being served on large plates. The bill comes and the Cava was $44. So we ask the server, "the Cava is $88?" And she says no, it's usually $48...We only got it because she mentioned it was HALF off of the original price, when in the end it was only $4 less. We all would've just gotten cocktails had we known how much it was. We confronted her about it and she says, "ooh yeah so sorry I may have exaggerated the discount." W. T. F. I really really wanted to love this place but our experience was a little too sour. Don't believe it's worth coming back.

Yelp
New restaurant near Montrose area popped up about 5 months ago! I've been waiting and now it is here!! Now on to the main stars...the food!

Yelp
I'm leaving four stars when I want to leave two because I want this place to succeed. I want the management to see this. We went to The Chelsea twice this week and things were questionable. On Monday night we hit the HH menu and the prices are right. The server was friendly and we definitely enjoyed it. Last night they literally ran out of glasses. We were rushed through our first round of cocktails because they ran out of glasses. We had a series of different servers, all of whom were apologetic about incorrect orders and strange deficiencies in presentation. The clientele has also shifted and they need to try to get back the aspirational crowd that typically haunts these type of places.

Yelp
The vibes, service, & food at The Chelsea were absolutely phenomenal! I also got the Caesar Salad w/ White Anchovies but was so excited to dig in that I didn't get a picture! Everything was DELICIOUS! The calamari was the best I've ever had & the cocktail was the perfect balance. Our server Ne, was so helpful with her recommendations & her presence made the experience so great! Such a great spirit and amazing customer service! I highly recommend The Chelsea! The staff are so open to feedback on dishes and were so accommodating! Definitely will visit again!

Yelp
Food was okay. Was disappointed overall Server had a collection of Bath and body Works solutions in his apron, which he showed us at the table. It was very bizarre.

Yelp
This place popped up on my instagram, advertising happy hour and I had to try it. Sunny the bartender, was the absolute best! Not only was she attentive and also listened and provide the perfect recommendations. The Canadians oysters (Sunny's rec) were *chefs kiss*. We also tried the calamari which was battered every well. I highly recommend this spot for HH or even date night. The ambiance and the aesthetic gave me romantic, family, after work drinks or girls night vibes. I will definitely be back for dinner!

Yelp
Definitely don't recommend! My steak was so over cooked and it was horrible and salty. The server was kind of rude also and it was an overall bad experience. My friends tried other things and it was very underwhelming. We won't be coming back. The ambiance was okay and it was very less people.

Yelp
We went around 2:30pm for brunch. They had a DJ with a saxophonist playing music. Great vibes! It was pretty loud. I had to step outside for a phone call. We ordered two cocktails, bartender was great and friendly. We shared the French toast sticks with sweet potatos and it was so good. Never had that combo but i enjoyed it. Will most likely return for dinner soon . Side note their content on IG is great. I'm a cinematographer and always Appreciate businesses that value having high quality photos and video.

Yelp
A quick shout out of APPRECIATION to Adam for his Exceptional Bartending Services each Sunday for Sunday Funday at the Chelsea. His drink craftsmanship is truly on point; he never has a disappointing drink for us. His customer service skills, knowledge of the bar, and attention to detail are first-rate. Great vibes, good music, and Adam making the perfect drink; how can one not be Happy at this HAPPY Hour!!! Adam, Thanks again!

Yelp
3 stars only because they made a strong effort to resolve my issue. In general, extremely overpriced for small portions and pushy service. The place is pretty but has no real theme or concept and not much on the menu even looked good to me. The crowd was super casual in shorts and flip flops on a weekend night that took away from the atmosphere. Also not a fan of the staff coming to your table and shaking hands.

Yelp
Came here for a friend's birthday celebration and had an amazing time. We were a party of 5 and ordered many sharable plates instead of entree plates. Highly recommend the Chelsea's Fries - super flavorful! Our server was attentive and gave good recommendations for birthday dessert. The manager also came by to check on us. The interior design is very cute and has great natural lighting. It gets busy around dinner time but not so loud that you can't enjoy your dinner.

Yelp
Came here for our one year anniversary and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment you walk in, the hostess greets you warmly and was so welcoming. Chelsea and Carlos, our servers were excellent. They made fabulous drink recommendations. We received complimentary champagne upon being seated. The Chargrilled Octopus and the Miso Roasted Carrots were my absolute favorites! The oysters are seasonal and change daily. We had the Ichibad Flat and they were so sweet and fresh. The Jumbo Sea Scallops were cooked to perfection in a buttery sauce, complimented by the pickled mushrooms. We even received a complimentary dessert. The chef and other wait staff were absolutely attentive and everyone seemed so genuinely happy to be here. This was an amazing experience and we will definitely be back! Thank you, The Chelsea!

Yelp
This restaurant ignored several attempts at contact for 4 days. They have not picked up the phone 25+ times, ignored 3 voicemails, an Instagram DM, and emails sent to their specific email & management group email. I had hoped to speak to a Manager about this experience, instead of having to write this review but it has come to this. We made this reservation to try new place with 3 guests from out of town. Restaurant was not full - only 5 tables seated maximum. Took almost 10 minutes after we were seated for the hostess, not waitress to bring us waters. Another 10 minutes go by, hostess lets us know the waitress will be by soon. Manoucheka finally comes to our table nearly 20 minutes after we had been sat. Does not introduce herself. Stands at the far end of table and says "Do you know what you want to order yet?". We were caught off guard at her abruptness. Asked if we could order drinks first. She was completely silent, did not respond. We ordered drinks and she walked off as we tried to order an appetizer. Another long time before anyone comes by our table, this time it is the hostess bringing us our drinks. She only brings 4 of the 5. Took about 5 minutes and had to catch the attention of a staff member cleaning the tables to get the last drink brought to us. We order finally order 2 appetizers from Manoucheka and start to order each entree when someone from another one of her tables approaches her, she flips her hand up in my friend's face and says "Wait." and walks away. She returns to take the rest of our orders without any acknowledgment or apology. The male staff member that was clearing the tables, brings the feta appetizer without the rolls we ordered and 4 pieces of bread for 5 people. When the hostess walks by we asked if we could get another slice of bread since there was 5 of us and she said "Oh I'll have to ask if the kitchen will allow that". It is odd that we would not even be served the proper amount of food for our group. Another 15 minutes go by before the "rolls" were brought out. These were so clearly frozen. They were as hard as a hockey puck. Had no flavor and were room temperature to the point where the butter wasn't even melting. They were barely edible. Eventually, our entrees were brought out, but again only 4 and the fifth person had to wait at least 5 minutes to get the meal brought to the table. Two people ordered the fried chicken - one person didn't get any of the side butter/honey and we had to flag down the individual cleaning tables again to ask him because Manoucheka NEVER came to check on our table. We watched her interact with her two other tables; frequently stopping to ask if they needed anything and clearly being nice to them but she was disrespectful and ignored us and she decided this before us having any interaction with her. We sat with our empty plates of food for at least 15 minutes before I stopped the other staff member in the hallway on the way to the bathroom to ask for the check. Manoucheka brings us the check after the staff member and hostess had cleared our plates and I noticed there was a 20% gratuity automatically added. I consulted the menu to see if that was noted anywhere because our party was only a party of 5, not typically considered a large party. I politely asked her if automatic gratuity was automatically added to every check. She got defensive saying that we were a large party so that's why she added it. I asked what quantifies a large party (since we were only 5 and typically large party means 8, maybe 6 people) and she rolled her eyes at me and said "whatever I'll take it off if you want". I did ask her to take it off. She completely ignored us the entire time, was down right rude putting her hands in our faces and rolling her eyes and then tried to pull one over on us by ensuring she'd get 20% gratuity. That is disrespectful. The only reason I left any tip at all is because the hostess and the gentleman with the longer dark hair cleaning the tables deserved it. This was the worst dining experience I have had in all my years in Houston.

Yelp
Came on a Sunday for brunch with reservations. Traffic made most of my party late but it was not crowded and they were able to seat us immediately when everyone arrived about 15 mins after. Service was welcoming and friendly. Decor was beautiful. Really enjoyed the digital changing art. EJ was the best waiter and was so entertaining. Recommended the French toast sticks. They came out super late but they gave us their version of pigs in a blanket on the house to make up for it. Overall, food was pretty good. I think the garlic aioli would accompany the duck fat potatoes better than the crème fresh but still tasty. I got the steak Benedict which could honestly use a bit more flavor. Drink (Don't Trip) was alright. Needed more gin but overall lovely experience. And Sunday happy hour starts at 3. Would go back for HH and to try dinner.

Yelp
The food was not that good. I feel like it's overpriced for what you get. However the service is great.

Yelp
I was thrilled to experience the opening lunch day at The Chelsea where Adam and Sunny made it a great first experience with delicious desserts and drinks. Their music was such a great mood setter too! So much so that I returned the next day to experience their amazing dinner menu with the brilliant guidance from Amber! Amber was beyond knowledgeable of everything on the menu, so complimentary of the chef, which made every choice taste better! sShe was so personable, hilarious, and made us feel so welcomed and taken care of. The tarte dessert gave us a surprise of unforgettable flavor and the cocktails were spot on. I cannot wait to come back to The Chelsea and experience more of their top tier service and staff.

Yelp
Service is wayyyyyy toooo slow. Im sitting here right now and its 1pm and we waited over a hr for one appetizer. Its like just one worker. Horrible. The food aint all that for it to be worth the wait. Will not come back or recommend to anybody
