A place to grab all kinds of chocolate desserts and treats. Cakes are classic but little bonbons are outstanding. Flourless chocolate cake was pretty straight forward. Rich and thick with raspberry sauce and whipped cream. ❤️Bonbons were amazing! The raspberry one was recommended by the staff and it was creative and delicious.

I went in with super high expectations for a date night and have to say I was a bit disappointed. It was super busy on a Saturday (makes sense) but the person at the counter made us feel like we were a bother. Made the $15 brownie sundae feel less enjoyable when that’s the vibe. Taste was definitely high quality, just wish the portion was generous enough to justify the price and the service was worth the hour-plus long journey.

Me and my family have been in NYC on vacation for a week. I wish I had found this place sooner!Tonight is our last night and we are staying here in Brooklyn. We wanted to door dash some desserts but couldn’t decide what to get so we got it all. We had fun sampling everything. It was all fantastic. My favorite was the Chocolate Mousse, and my husband loved the brownie. The mousse is so silky and flavorful! I wish we had a chance to visit the shop because it seems like the cutest place. This will definitely be the first stop if we come back to NYC!

This is a 💎 in Cobble Hill. The service is wonderful. The Hand Crafted Bonbons and The Truffle were 😋. I also got a Chocolate Pecan Square which was very good. The products are made in store. When you walk towards the back, you can see them working on these marvelous treats. They also have homemade Ice Creams and various types of Hot Chocolate. The place is very inviting. It feels like you're in another era. The prices are reasonable. I will definitely be back to try their White Hot Chocolate and maybe pick up a slice of their Chocolate Cake. This place will definitely bring a smile to your face.

The Chocolate Room is one those places you would love to visit on a cold winter day with friends, a special someone or your little people. The memories you will create will be lasting. I had the spiced chocolate with the flourless chocolate cake and both was divine. If there was not so many people around I think I would of licked the plate and cut it was soooooooo good. The Chocolate Room is a must visit if you are looking for a great cup of hot chocolate and desserts.

This is my guilty pleasure!! I love everything about this place: the affogato is a must, the coffee is fantastic, and the pastries are so chocolate-full. Maybe more smiles when you come will be a sweet extra touch =)

Not that you could imagine a place named "the chocolate room" could be bad but it certainly delivered on it's namesake. As a lactose challenged individual the chocolate sorbet was so awesome and rich and was basically chocolate ice cream the brownie Sunday was great and the cookie was very crunchy. I don't know what happened to our service as it seemed in the ordering process we had pissed her off which was unfortunate but ya know we all go through stuff. If you like chocolate this is you place ... Obviously.

I don't even know if I should be giving a review considering that The Chocolate Room holds a special place in my heart. It was the first place I took my wife (Then girlfriend) on a date. And truly would have been the selected people for my wedding cake if I weren't so late on the ordering. However, The Brownie Sundae with the Madagascar Vanilla ice cream is simply amazing. The warm brownie compliments the rich vanilla so well. And the brandy covered (I believe) cherry is the topper (*snicker*) And if you are cursed to be a coffee AND ice cream lover, like I am. The affogato is a must try! Because of my bias, I must keep this review short as to not overly convince (go....go NOW) the people of this amazing little piece of Brooklyn.

We came here after dinner for desserts. My partner loves chocolate so I was really looking forward having him try this place. The selections were actually not that unique considering they have many options. We ended up getting the chocolate cake because so many people were raving about it in the review. It was delicious and moist but nothing special. If you're looking for classic decadent desserts, this is the perfect place. The staff were also not that friendly or helpful. We were confused on why they needed so many staff. When we came after dinner hours I think there were 4-5 people just standing at the counter not doing anything. They weren't that busy.

I always checkout the Chocolate room when I'm in this part of BK. They have the best chocolate treats, especially their hot chocolate. I usually get the brownie (they're incredible), but I got a slice of cake and cake pop. Both were great! Cute spot and very friendly staff!

The best chocolate you will ever have. Last night we had the flourless chocolate cake and I had the chocolate ice cream. The quality is outstanding. Hands down the best chocolate out there.

Delicious baked goods, including brownie bites and chocolate chip cookie. I initially went there for hot chocolate after some recommendations - but could not resist an iced caramel cappuccino. It was so-so- I should have tried the hot chocolate.

My husband and I ate dessert here last week. It's one of our favorite spots for dessert. This place was a 10 minute walk from Bahnmigos which is where we had dinner. As soon as we entered, we were greeted and told that we can get a table and come back to order or order first and grab a table afterwards. We grabbed a table first and walked back to the counter and placed our order. We decided to split a dessert since we were still a bit full from dinner. This time we ordered the Flourless cake with raspberry coulis and a dollop of of whipped cream. It was creamy and delicious. My husband also ordered a cup of green tea which he said was so so. The green tea was very light and tasteless. I think they need to use better quality tea bags for the price. I think this place is best for their desserts, coffees and hot chocolate. Skip the tea. The ambiance is cozy.

Super cute place! Lots to choose from, some seating options, and a clean place. We tried the iced hot chocolate which came out sort of like melted shaved ice... hard to explain. But we didn't particularly enjoy it. It was pretty large, too! I'm sure there are plenty of options that are great!

The first time I visited The Chocolate Room was about 4 years ago. My friend and I tried their famous chocolate chip almond cake and fell in love!! We made the trek down to Brooklyn from Uptown and decided to go all out so we ordered our slices with a scoop of ice cream on the side! I briefly moved out of state and the cake left such a memorable impression. I'm finally back in the area 4 years later and I HAD to visit The Chocolate Room to see if the cake was just as good as I remembered. Well, it was delicious and well worth the wait!! The texture of the cake is dense but it's also light on the tongue and the cake itself is so moist and flavorful. They serve it warmed up which really elevates everything. I skipped the ice cream this time because the prices went up a considerable amount. The presentation wasn't as picturesque or impressive as the first time I visited (they garnished the plate with chopped almonds and other cute toppings with more caramel sauce). The cake was good but it also didn't blow me away like the first time. Overall I was happy with my decision to go back but I won't be dreaming about this cake like I did the first time haha

I was sneaking out of the rain when I stumbled upon this place and it turned out to be exactly what I needed. From rainy and dark to a cute Parisian style cafe, filled with the welcoming aroma of chocolate and espresso; just tell me I fell into heaven. The chocolate cake was stacked, moist, and decadent! Everything you'd want from this order. Additionally, the hot chocolate was rich, smooth, and buttery (if that makes sense) You're not only greeted with smells, but the warm smiles of chocolate baristas where you order first and they bring it to you based on a number.

This place is sooooo good! I jump at the chance every time my friend talk about coming to this spot. My go-to is their Brownie Sundae where you can choose both the type of brownie and ice cream flavor. During my most recent visit I also ordered a Dark Hot Chocolate which was perfect for the colder winter season. Would absolutely recommend coming here if you have the chance!

Got a small scoop of the mint chip ice cream. The mint was good. It didn't feel too artificial to the point of tasting like toothpaste. Given that it is a chocolate shop, I was hoping for more chocolate in the ice cream. There were bits, but they didn't shine through as much. It was good because the chocolate was on the darker side. The ice cream texture has more to be desired though as it wasn't very smooth. There were some icier parts to it. I do want to come back to try their baked items though.

what i desperately needed: a slice of blackout cake what i got: a heavenly, new favorite, piece of cake The fragrant aroma of dark chocolate hit me as soon as i opened the box. Cake slice was incredibly moist. Fine crumb.. just so light but so decadent. High quality chocolate! Perfectly thin layer of ganache enveloped it. I imagine their other desserts are equally as delicious so i'll have to try them out again soon!

Beautiful place with deceptively lots of seating. Everything looks wonderful, asked the people working and they recommended their chocolate layer cake or the brownie sundae. We went with the brownie sundae, very decadent. The brownie was warm, fudge was perfect and you get to choose whatever scoop of ice cream you want, all locally made. We went with cookies and cream, but I don't think you can gowrong.

Now that the weather is apprehensively improving after what feels like years of winter, I have resumed leaving my apartment again and going on walks. With this new life change, I have found myself with a new goal of sorts - leave no stone unturned, or actually no neighborhood business unexplored. I have walked past The Chocolate Room countless times for years, saw many happy people walking in and out of it, but it wasn't until recently that I finally checked it out for myself. What I founds was sweet treats galore! A variety of cake slices, cookies, ice cream, hot chocolate and coffee are all great at the Chocolate Room, but what I have been gravitating to lately is their large selection of truffle (obviously of the candy, not mushroom, variety). Roughly twenty unique flavors to choose from offers for a fun quick treat with a minimum guilt factor. Also, the granola at the Chocolate Room has forever ruined all other granolas for me - it is that good. If you stop by, make sure to walk deeper into the store and check out the cute seating area facing a green outdoor garden. This is the treat destination I did not know I was missing, and now that I have found it, I will be periodically popping into hopefully forever.

First time coming back since they moved off of 5th ave (I know right?!). Visited on a Sunday afternoon and was able to get a table in a cute little nook by the entrance. We had brownie sundaes which were delicious and so rich in flavor. The dulce de leche ice cream is velvety and not overly sweet.

Best chocolate cupcakes ever! For $4 Service is slow but worth the wait. There sitting in the back n now post COVID, in front outside of the restaurant also. A slice of chocolate cake is $11 ( see my unboxing video) it's sooo good. I ysed to get a 6" cake for my daughter's birthday ( order in advance) The bonbons are $3 each. Great place to hang out after the movies ( theater next door) have a hot chocolate n a cupcake.

Kind of between a 4-4.5 on this one. Smells lovely inside and it's a cozy place to spend a few hours in winter. Hot chocolate was rich and yummy; not the best I've had but still very good. You have the option of adding homemade whipped cream and/or a marshmallow on top. Marshmallow was good but not good enough for me to spend an extra 75 cents on it again haha.

Popped in with a friend for a snowy day treat and was not disappointed! The dark hot chocolate was rich and came with a generous scoop of whipped cream. The man at the counter was also so kind and made us feel right at home. Such a cozy place inside too!

All these years later and still always a satisfying experience. I'm a fan of the chocolate layer cake, light crumb and decadent layers of a ganache icing. They also make great beverages - coffee, espresso, hot chocolate, and variety of hot teas. Servers are always friendly and I appreciate the indoor and outdoor seating options. This place is such a treat.

Hands down, one of the best hot chocolates I've had. It was the perfect temperature, portion, and flavor. If you like thick hot chocolate, this is great for you! As a chocolate fanatic, I can get a chocolate dessert along with a chocolate drink. If not, I recommend any of their other desserts!

Chocolate shop opened late. We popped in for a little dessert after walking off enough of dinner to squeeze in dessert. I had a few of the chocolate truffles. All of them were rich, chocolatey, and delicious. None were too bitter for me. I'm no chocolate expert, but the quality was clearly better than the chocolates that I typically have. I appreciated that they were open late and allowed us to lounge for a while. Service was quick and friendly.

Located in Cobble Hill, The Chocolate Room offers a selection of chocolate goodies, coffee, tea, and more. Gluten free options available. My boyfriend grew up in Park Slope and has been a frequent visitor for more 10 years. TCR used to have table service but no longer does. They still have their seating area in the back but you have to order at the cash register up front. The staff is always friendly! Masks indoors are suggested for customers. All staff are masked. This place seems like a really good spot to pick up some nice dessert or coffee. I can only speak to the banana split and cookie which both were amazing. The service was excellent and the workers were all very kind when I visited. The only knock off star would be the prices, as they were a bit higher then the usual type of places like this.

Along Court Street is this chocolate shop. They have truffles, ice cream, hot chocolate and other desserts. I wasn't going to get anything, but noticed they had a White Hot Chocolate ($6) that caught my eye, so got that. The cup isn't too big and the drink did get a bit sweet, but I guess that what chocolate is. The white hot chocolate tastes like warm condensed milk, which was good for a few sips but got a bit overwhelming. Everything is pretty pricey here though.

There's a ton of variety at The Chocolate Room, whether it be truffles, ice cream, cake, or hot chocolate. It's also a neighborhood mom n pop shop & the owners go out of their way to help you if you have a special order / occasion. Food: So far I've tried their ice cream, brownie, flourless chocolate cake, and almond cake. Their ice cream is good but I much prefer their cakes! Flourless chocolate cake is very dense but not too sweet. You have an option of adding raspberry sauce & whipped cream on top as well. Service: very attentive and quick, happy to provide recommendations! Insider tips: they have a cute set up for outdoor seating and a bigger dining room in the back. they also sell cookie dough if you want to bake your own at home! One of the best hot chocolates I've ever had. Prices are a little too high on the pretty chocolates though. Chocolate cake was eh, wasn't all that. But the hot chocolate, sooo good

Ambience Owners Naomi and John wanted to create a place where dessert is at the forefront of the menu. A non-smoking restaurant where you can hear one another speak across the table, while also getting the chance to peer into the windows of the kitchen where they're making their incredible goods. Service You get to order at the counter and take your goods to a seating area in the back to enjoy them in what feels like a vintage dining area of a candy shop. When Naomi and John are working you get to hear the stories behind the chocolate and more of an understanding as to why they do it. The Goods There's a diversity in the depth and flavor of the chocolate here that's nearly unmatched elsewhere. From the Hot Chocolate to the Bon Bons to the Cookies and Chocolate Pecan Bars... you're tasting years of learning, practice, and iterative processes that keep them blossoming year after year. Value While they're not the cheapest chocolate spot in the neighborhood, your money definitely goes further in the way of satisfaction. You can buy less here since the quality is so high. The Hot Chocolate is thick enough to fill you up, and the Bon Bons are delectable enough to only need a few to satiate even the biggest sweet tooth. Secret Tip They love sampling their Hot Chocolate here, so if you're stopping in for some treats, ask for a little cup of their Hot Chocolate. Also, they sell the mix (make it vegan simply by using your favorite alt milk) so you don't have to say goodbye to the amazing flavor when you're walking out the door!

Oh, how I miss this place on 5th Avenue, but how wonderful to know they still exist, of a bit of a trek from my usual area. Amazing hot chocolate, delicious cake, among other tasty, tasty chocolate treats.

So yummy and such a sweet place for an after dinner date night dessert. I got the yuzu & salted caramel, my partner got the matcha & dark chocolate! I loved the yuzu!!

How cool is it that we have our own little chocolate factory, right here in Cobble Hill?! The Chocolate Room is excellent. Everything is made in house and the quality of the chocolate is top notch. It's rich, but not too sweet. That's how you do chocolate! My absolute favorite is their flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. In close second is their chocolate chip cookie. Other amazing things I've had is their chocolate layer cake, brownie, chocolate covered almonds, peanuts and espresso beans, truffles, and the mocha. You really can't go wrong. I've only gotten things to go, but they have tables inside and outside. You can also do champagne/wine pairings if you eat in, which I will have to do sometime soon.

The folks behind the counter left a great first impression before even ordering. I tried the spicy hot chocolate and the dark hot chocolate (65%). I was hesitant to try the spicy as I've had Mexican hot cocoa before and it was not for me. However, their version is so subtle with an incredible nuance of spice. I loved it. Their dark chocolate was phenomenal as well. Their drink is the right amount of thickness where it truly is liquid chocolate but carefully crafted in flavor so you can enjoy without being overwhelmed.

Homemade chocolate many flavors does not disappoint. Homemade ice cream,shake or sundaes are delicious. Drop in on a hot day and cool off .

Calling all dessert and chocolate lovers! This is our heaven! I have been coming to The Chocolate Room for at least 5 years now and they are always consistent. I always order the brownie sundae. It comes with a warm, fudgey brownie with a crackly top, home made fudge that is not too sweet, home made whipped cream and a cherry that is soaked in some type of alcohol. You can also choose your flavor of ice cream to put on top. The Chocolate Room perfected their recipe so that you can finish the entire sundae on your own. Their chocolate layer cake is a treat also! Moist cake with the chocolatiest (making up my own words now) ganache. The only worry here is whether or not to share!

So disappointed. I used to come here every weekend as a child. I revisited the first time as an adult and I was incredibly disappointed and embarrassed by how the owner spoke to me. I tried to order a coffee and was ignored and the white woman behind me had her order taken. Then I was asked to join a bill of a random group of other women standing in front of me. Clearly racially profiling and I will never return.

My partner and I visited The Chocolate Room for our first time last week. After waiting for about 30 minutes for a slice of chocolate cake and a cup of hot chocolate, I notified the ?couple owners John and Naomi, and they not only immediately brought out our order, but really went above and beyond to sincerely apologize AND refund me my $18. They clearly care about their customers here and I was beyond impressed with their care and attention. Oh and the cake and hot chocolate were delicious! We will be returning soon.

It's called the chocolate room...what's not to like? Chocolate layer cake was awesome - I got a slice go while in the neighborhood and it traveled well. Next time: I want to try the brownie sundae!

We were only in Brooklyn for two days this summer, but The Chocolate Room, and one other shop were the only places we returned to both days. The handmade chocolates, the gelato, the coffee, and the brownies were amazing. The owners were there both days, and were so friendly and told us all about the shop and the items that they sell there. We've returned home, but we follow the shop on Instagram and can't wait until we can return next summer!

They have the best chocolate cake in NYC. It is just truly amazing how everything tastes so good in this place, sundaes, cookies, and warm drinks. They have a very cozy and welcoming ambiance, and I really enjoy the fast and attentive service. One of my favorite spots for a good dessert and hot chocolate. :))

I would not recommend for anyone to go here. Don't expect any kind of common courtesy, any service, or good food. You might get attitude and possibly ridiculed too. We were here recently. We told the male cashier, at the front counter, how many people we were going to be to stay and eat. We were making the motions to go to the back area where there are tables. The man then curtly and aggressively says "no you pay here". The protocol must have changed because you used to be able to sit down, order and then, after you are done, go and pay before you leave. We should have taken his stern and aggressive manner as a sign of things to come. We ordered our drinks and food and realized that there were up charges for certain changes or additional things like oat milk instead of whole milk in a latte. He didn't disclose this to us at the time we ordered. Then we sat down and took up a table and part of another table. The woman server had a problem with that. Without telling us to move she put everything on one table, not caring who ordered what, and getting it all wrong, and had an attitude with us. We told her we didn't move all to one table because a customer had just left it and the table was dirty. She said with an attitude "well I guess I'll have to clean it". Then we ate, the moment we have been waiting for. Both of the chocolate cake slices were dry as the Sahara desert. There was no other service. We wanted to order additional items like drinks etc... but no one came back to the area to actually do their job and be attentive to anyone seated. Then, as we were leaving the male cashier looked at us and quietly talked to our waitress. Then, they both looked at us, and burst into laughter. It was extremely rude and unprofessional. These are only a few issues we had with these aforementioned employees. There were more that I am not going to go into detail about because the review is already long enough. We will never again go to this establishment and tell people we know not to go here either.

Everything perfect, amazing chocolate!!! Sicilian lemon truffle was my favorite, well worth it!!! Hot chocolate was a dream! Mr. Wonka has to be secretly behind this place!

I don't even really like chocolate that much.* I know...why the hell am I hanging out in the Chocolate Room? Well, someday you're going to grow up and realize you're constantly going to have to do things you don't like to do. And on the huge spectrum of things you don't like to do that you have to do anyway, eating chocolate is way, WAY on the good side. In fact, it's so far to the side that it's essentially not on the list. So suck it up, and stop being such a baby. Anyway, you know who likes chocolate? My wife. And my family. And my friends. And probably your wife, and family, and friends. Basically everyone, which makes this a great place to buy gifts, and bring dates. It's getting cold, so you can warm up with several different types of hot cocoa (spiced and classic are winners), and even an iced version if you're into that. No one was ever sad about an affogato either. The desserts are also on point; puddings, mousses, homemade ice cream, that black bottom butterscotch thing...a good choice for after dinner at a nearby spot. They even serve booze, because sugar alone isn't going to be enough for you to get lucky. And there are tons of truffles, cakes, peanut butter cups, chocolate covered everything, and just straight chocolate that you can buy and give to all the people in your life that think chocolate is the best thing since sliced bread. I'll take sliced bread more often than not, but when I come in here, I can get down with the brownie sundae, or the chocolate chip cookie. Simple, classic, good. However, from what my mom tells me, the mailman really liked chocolate too. They spent a lot of time together...must've been good friends.

I stumbled across this place and stopped in for some hot chocolate, which I was BLOWN AWAY by. The milk chocolate version with the homemade whipped cream was some of the best I've ever had - super addicting, deliciously creamy, and not too rich. They were out of the homemade marshmallow but I bet that would've been great too! They also have nice seating in the back of the store. Would highly recommend if you're looking for great hot chocolate in NYC

My favorite dessert shop to satisfy chocolate cravings. I've been to the park slope store several times as well. Both locations are consistent with their quality of service and desserts. Our group of 10 arrived on a Friday night and they were able to accommodate us. My go-to is usually the brownie sundae with Madagascar vanilla ice cream. Although it seems very simple, it tastes like perfection. It's the perfect level of sweetness. Can't wait for my next visit!
