Without a doubt, Grizzly House is the best fondue restaurant I've ever been to - and I've been to quite a few, all over the world. They've been open since 1967, and are still doing things the same way - the right way.
The flavors, ambiance, and service were all completely on point. We got the mushroom appetizer, which had many awesome different stuffings you could fill the mushroom with before dipping it in batter and frying in oil.
We also got the cheese fondue, which had a delicious wine and Gruyere cheese combination. The flavor was strong, sharp, and totally delicious. The portion sizes were just right and significantly larger than other similar restaurants I've been to.
They also had a hot rock option for the meat and seafood that we ordered. We tried this out, and it was awesome with the garlic butter frying up the pieces of meat, shrimp, and lobster tail fresh.
Winding everything up for dessert was the chocolate fondue, which they served special because we had a birthday in the party. The chocolate was just awesome and was not super sugary sweet like a lot of chocolates you get. It had a right balance between savory and sweet that made it really irresistible.
Our server had a very friendly and upbeat attitude, and was very helpful in explaining the different types of cooking options, and how to use all of the implements.
The decor of the restaurant was a hand carved wooden theme that really looked like it was straight out of the late 60s in early 1970s. The old-school feel only added to the awesome environment.
I heard other people talking about how they drove several hours just to come to this restaurant, and after the meal we clearly understood why.
Five stars easily, and I would give it to six if I could. Highly recommended.!
