The Lanesborough Grill at The Lanesborough - Review - Knightsbridge - London - The Infatuation

"From the moment you see the name-embossed soil—yes, even the dirt is branded—in front of the grand hotel doors of The Lanesborough, to when you’re presented with a delicate array of sandwiches and desserts while being asked if you’d like to switch your Earl Grey tea for Moroccan Mint, you’ll feel looked after during afternoon tea at this five-star Knightsbridge spot. With baby blue accents, massive chandeliers, and high glass ceilings that fill the room with enough natural light to make anyone look great, the Regency-period dining room looks like something out of a Bridgerton ballroom scene (befitting with their current Bridgerton-themed afternoon tea menu). The tranquil room is full of quiet conversations and the elegant clinking of champagne glasses, and while we’d happily sit in the regal spot and chase after Lilibet (the resident cat whose lifestyle would bankrupt the majority of the people in the room) every day, this is a special occasion kind-of-place. The afternoon tea is a true experience, done properly from start to finish. The sandwiches are so good you’ll happily take the complimentary seconds, the scones are perfectly light, and the desserts are rich, without being sickly. Go through the motions, and spend a good few hours nibbling away and trying enough teas to make you dizzy. The Lanesborough is made for settling in. photo credit: The Lanesborough photo credit: The Lanesborough photo credit: The Lanesborough Pause Unmute RESERVE A TABLE WITH RESERVE A TABLE" - Rianne Shlebak

The Lanesborough Grill

"This ornately decorated restaurant sits at the heart of the Lanesborough Hotel. Its menu moves with the seasons, offering modern British dishes brimming with prime ingredients, and includes lighter options as well as plenty for carnivores. Old school desserts are delivered with a degree of refinement, as befits the surroundings. Weekend dinners come with musical accompaniment." - Michelin Inspector

5 star service. A lovely dinner experience in a warm, relaxing down to earth atmosphere. Impressive blue/white Wedgwood decorations in the restaurant. Formally known as Celeste. Now English cuisine instead of French Cuisine. Very good quality. We love to come back for a fifth time experience.

I celebrated my birthday at The Lanesborough Grill and had a truly wonderful experience. The food was exceptional – every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The restaurant’s decor is elegant and luxurious, making it a perfect place for a special occasion. The service was outstanding from start to finish. All the staff were professional, attentive, and warm. I’d like to especially thank Mike, who stood out with his friendliness and genuine service mind – he made our evening even more memorable. We will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended!

Absolutely gorgeous experience! We celebrated our anniversary here and everything was just perfect—the food, the jazz, the ambiance, and especially the people. From the moment we arrived, Dalila gave us such a warm welcome that we instantly felt relaxed and knew it was going to be a great night. There was also an amazing Brazilian gentleman (unfortunately I forgot his name) who took such wonderful care of us throughout the evening. He really made our night special. I’ll definitely be back soon with my mom to try their afternoon tea

I took my son for his 17th Birthday lunch celebration so it was perfect. The hotel is stunning, beautifully decorated, well staffed yet relaxed. The restaurant is fit for Bridgerton. All staff are so professional, attentive and friendly. We arrived a little bit early and they were happy to accommodate us. Our 3-course meals were absolutely amazing, so pleasing for eyes and taste buds. Brilliant set and offer. This was the first time I went back since it has changed from the Celeste. Loved it then and love it now. We cannot wait to go back again.

The Americano was tasty but not worth £9, the tuna tartar was nice, the bread was very oily and hard to eat, the beef Wellington was very crumbly and separated easily so Bob Bob Richard was much better, the dessert tart was not bad, the birthday mousse was good, the servant Daniel was friendly. I’d say it’s more like coming for service not food, I prefer the afternoon tea here so will only come back for that.

I took my best friend for her birthday on a Friday evening taking advantage of the £52 3 course meal offer via the Fork App. The hotel is sublime of course with stunning decorations and incredibly relaxed atmosphere for such a formal place some might describe it as "posh". It’s a classy venue and the restaurant is like a large living room one would find in the tv show Bridgerton and tonight they had a live 3 piece jazz band. The staff are all professionals and very attentive. They sure know how to make you feel special. The food was amazing. A glass of champagne each included in the set menu price, delicious food We were waited on hand and foot tonight and really made the birthday girl feel special. Well done ! - we will be back for my mother's birthday meal and will definitely highly recommend this restaurant. Many thanks!

This place is fantastic. I came here for breakfast before leaving to the airport. The doorman was very cordial and took my luggage to the cloakroom, then kindly directed me to the breakfast area which was very elegant. Great place for a relaxed and quire meal. Food and service was top notch. Will definitely come back.

Yelp
Came for afternoon tea. The room is just beautiful with lovely colors and natural lighting from the glass ceiling overhead. You can choose up to 3 different teas. They are all great. I especially enjoyed the green tea with flower blossom. The sandwiches are wonderful and the pastries are beautiful and delicious. I was so sttuffed when I left and the whole experience was Devine.

Yelp
I've actually been to Celeste twice now. After the fantastic first experience we'd been meaning to go back for a while. We were worried it wouldn't live up to memory. But it did. Service is impeccable. We never needed a wine glass refilling or wanted for anything. The dining room is gorgeous. Understated opulence. If you're a couple try and request one of the 'sofas' to sit on. The food was excellent. The canapes to start were creative. The sourdough with smoked butter was insanely good. We had a second helping because it was so good which we never normally do. My watermelon starter was innovative with the use of olive and granita. My cod was delicate and tasty. The dessert was amazing. An intense espresso mousse with coffee ice cream and fudge pieces. Honestly love this place. Both times we got the bookatable deal which is excellent value for a Michelin star restaurant. Go go!

Yelp
The epitome of elegance and fine dining in London. Everything about Celeste is luxurious, from the stunning decor, to the flawless service, and most importantly, the exciting modern French cuisine. Walking into the grand dining room at the Lanesborough Hotel's restaurant one feels transported back in time when dining out was an event to be savored. Regency styled with etched glass screens, polished chandeliers, Wedgwood design cameos on the walls and plush seating was just the beginning of the experience. The menu is a contemporary take on fine French cuisine that includes temptations such as a foie gras in black truffle, langoustine ravioli, and halibut with risotto and creamed Jerusalem artichokes. Finishing with a decadent chocolate souffle the meal was perfection. Paired expertly from a fine selection of wines by the sommelier who was very knowledgeable and didn't give you the obvious. This is absolutely a meal for foodies. Yes it is expensive but worth every penny and definitely worth the splurge. While very polished and styled the atmosphere is not pretentious or off putting but rather relaxed and welcoming. I highly recommend it, I had a delightful experience and will indeed be going back again. Exceptional food and service. This puts the special in 'special' occasion.

Yelp
Service and quality of food was phenomenally over the top. Great wine list and dessert is to die for. I wish I lived here in London I would visit regularly.

Yelp
It's like wandering into your grandmother's Wedgwood cabinet- very pretty but a bit dated and didn't quite match with the contemporary flair of the dishes. However the most important thing the food, which from the canapés to dessert, were all wonderful. The langoustine in the ravioli was so tender and a very decadent rich cream sauce had these tiny bits of fresh herbs which really woke up the dish. Halibut was well seasoned again with a complementary combination of fresh herbs and a little bit of acidity. Really a wonderful meal and service was great as well.
