Second time staying here, just as impressed. The hotel has a great layout and vibe. Our family stayed here and was warmly welcomed by Delaney at the front desk. She and the entire staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were perfect, lounge is well decorated and inviting, the whole place is great. Within walking distance of hotels and bars.

This cute centrally located hotel is perfect for a getaway in Raleigh. We were able to go to our concert and return in time for an amazing cocktail at the bar. The rooms are small and sparse but have everything you could need. The aesthetic is adorable. But most of all I was impressed with the customer service. I left an item and they went above and beyond to ship it to me.

Hotel has been renovated. Super clean and kinda swanky. Jane was working the bar and she made some of the best margheritas I've ever had. She was super sweet, engaging and easy on the eyes for sure. Check in was easy and quick, super nice reception. Anna let us leave our car there for a few hours while we walked around town and had lunch. She was super cute and extremely helpful and very engaging. The area is easily walkable and we felt safe the entire time walking and exploring.

I booked the Long Leaf for a visit to Raleigh from Kentucky to see a band play at the Ritz. I use Expedia which I love and this place had great reviews and pricing, so we went with it! I’ve noticed a resurgence of these retro motor hotels and stayed at one in Columbus, Ohio that left things to be desired. Long leaf NAILED it! Every aspect! Every detail. Nailed it all from the kind texts before check-in, the great staff, the cleanliness of the hotel completely, and the kitschy components which you could also purchase, such as the tie dyed robes and pillowcases. My husband loves to collect can koozies and when I walked into check in and saw the Long leaf can koozies at the desk, we knew we were in the right spot! Also, randomly had the best hotel hair dryer I’ve ever chanced upon! At check out, when I professed my love of the Long Leaf, staff informed me of a sister location in Boone, NC, which is now on my vacation bucket it list.

Recently stood at this hotel when in town for the Dreamville festival. They had some themed events ongoing in the lounge that were really cool. The drinks are really great. The rooms are a good size and clean. The beds are comfortable. The staff was really kind and welcoming. We were also able to get a late checkout after being so exhausted the from the night before. It is also located close to many different downtown options.

My experience at the Longleaf Hotel was lovely. The location is in walking proximity to many bars and restaurants and other Raleigh attractions. Lauren at the front desk was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Britton and Sarah working the lounge were also very friendly as well as terrific bartenders. My room was nice, and exactly what I was wanting for a fair price. 10/10 will be back!

Google
The hotel is clean, staff is amazing, bed are comfy. We had to move rooms bc of a small spot of blood on one of the bedsheets, understandable but extremely inconvenient. This hotel is "pet friendly" but is not convenient for dogs at all. There is no where near the hotel to take your dog to walk and use the bathroom. THERE IS A HIDDEN PET FEE OF $50. I was not made aware of this fee at all and was charged after check out. My dog was in my reservation, but the fee was never mentioned to me at all, it was a complete surprise after the fact. With the added fee, the price of the hotel is not a good deal for what you get. Rooms are small, not a lot of room to move around. There is NO breakfast options. You have to go elsewhere for anything outside coffee, even juice. All "amenities" in the room are an extra charge. I really had high hops for this hotel, the location is amazing, it's well kept up with, the staff is INCREDIBLE (probably the only redeeming thing), it's priced decently. But as you stay there, you realize why it's cheap.

Google
I thought this hotel room was very nice. However, I would say it’s a little pricey for what is delivered: this is an old motel building, so there is no elevator, and the room has no coffee machine or any kind of amenities. They don’t even have phone chargers/adapters to offer international guests, which is something every other hotel has. If you find a good deal, then I say go for it and stay here, because the rooms are really not bad at all. But if the price difference with a real hotel is not that big, I’d suggest you go somewhere else. I would also highlight that the receptionists were very nice and willing to help with anything.

Yelp
Anna went above and beyond for my visit! She was incredibly friendly and accommodating with helping me get all settled in and enjoying my stay. I was working remote during my visit, so she helped make sure I had everything I needed. If you're like me and travel in exhausted from the commute, she makes a killer iced vanilla latte just a few steps from the front desk. Aesthetically, the hotel is gorgeous. Love the balance of retro and contemporary. It felt like I was part of history staying there paired with modern amenities to make my stay super comfortable (including designer robes, a cozy chic throw blanket, and luxury soaps in the room). Very comfortable mattress and a variety of pillow shapes/squishiness. There's also Raleigh / NC items (Cheerwine in the fridge, local chocolates/chips, and a branded map of Raleigh) and other super cute Longleaf items that were the extra special touch. I'd come back for Raleigh just for this spot, and hope Anna is working when I do! Thanks for making this visit wonderful.

Yelp
We stayed here for a night and loved it! 1. They had free bingo on the patio which was super fun and I won a robe! 2. Walking distance to a bunch of cool stuff. 3. Free parking 4.super friendly staff!! Only drawback was not really having any breakfast options but I knew that going in. Really... does anyone need anything more than coffee anyway?!

Ann E.

Yelp
Very nice hotel downtown within walking distance to almost everywhere we needed to go. Was formerly a motel-interesting. The room suited our needs. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was fine, although the door was very squeaky. There was some noise from the nearby highway, but it didn't disturb our sleep. We were there 3 nights and the housekeeping was a little sketchy (dirty glasses left in the room). The lounge on the first floor is very nice. It's a bar in the evening. It transforms to a breakfast area in the morning. There is also an outside area to sit. I think there may be music on some nights. The staff is super friendly. Recommended.

Harriet W.

Yelp
This hotel reminds me of my youth when we would stop at motels and I would fight with my brothers over who had to sleep on the floor! As other reviewers have said, it is a high quality renovation of a former drug-infested Day's Inn. It's in a great walkable location to restaurants, the Legislative Building, etc. The reason for the 4 is the following: The traffic noise from Dawson Street and they nickel and dime you for everything (except water and ice). I forgot my toothbrush but there would have been a charge for it so I used my husband's. We were here for a local get-away but I do recommend it for a nice place to stay!

Yelp
We used Long Leaf for a wedding block and I would highly recommend them for any couple looking for a room block in the downtown Raleigh area. Jessica and Chelley helped us with the accommodation from contract to completion. Long leaf offers a cost-free courtesy block and distributes welcome bags to guests free of charge. These are great differentiators from their downtown competitors. Communication with long leaf was seamless. 10/10 would use again.

Tamara W.

Yelp
The front desk staff are tops! They offer state rates and the hotel is new and updated. It's located downtown not far from museums and state buildings. Lounge with 50' inspiration. It's an experience and one you must try. The room rates are very reasonable. Think Mad Men tv show lounge.

Lynn F.

Yelp
What a great little spot! Great location for exploring museums, historical sites, restaurants....walk to them all! Hotel is adorable, has wonderful amenities and great staff (JoAnnie on the front desk was amazing with suggestions). Quiet, dark rooms, comfortable bedding and beds and nice little extras! Would definitely recommend. 2 day get-away from Richmond to explore Raleigh for the first time,

Yelp
I finally made it to the Longleaf and I think it's going to be my "go-to" hotel when visiting Raleigh. As far as "boutique" motels go, it's very unique. I believe it used to be a Days Inn motor lodge before getting a complete overhaul and remodel. The room itself was on the small side but very stylishly turned out. There were amenities that I have not had access to at fancier hotels like a noise machine and JBL Clip. For a solo traveler with an itinerary downtown, it was a convenient location. Be aware though that it is a good half mile from the city center. You are however close to the Smoky Hallow nabe with a giant Publix and fun restaurants nearby. The hotel provides you with a list of nearby amenities. The bathroom wasn't supermodern but again they were able to jazz it up with fancy wallpaper and MALIN & GOETZ products. I slept like a champ but be aware, it is situated near a main road and the train tracks. They have a lounge as well which I didn't visit but they have cocktails & finger food available. Overall, a good stay at a decent price with plenty of pizazz.

Yelp
Had a fun one-night stay here. They've done a great job recreating the mid-century vibe but with 21st-century conveniences. You can definitely get all your Don Draper feels here. The building was originally a mid-'60s Travelodge right on the edge of downtown that went through a decline and most likely did some time as a crack den before the gentrification train rolled through. The check-in experience was very welcoming and warm. The lobby is a smallish area with a few chairs and the obligatory bubble lamps with a bar. During COVID, they are only serving drinks on their fenced-in patio, which has plenty of seating options and an interesting drink menu. I reserved the Deluxe room, which has some extra space. I understand there is only one room in this class, but I would recommend you try to get it if you want something larger than the standard but still not a suite. There was plenty of floor space along with a nice entry way plus two wing chairs and a cocktail table. The walls are still the original concrete blocks painted soothing colors with some period art hanging on them. The bed was plenty comfortable. There's a mini-fridge stocked with some waters and sodas but room for your own stuff as well. There are nice mid-century patterns and textures, but it's not overdone. You get the vibe without being hit over the head. The walk-in shower was large with good quality Malin & Goetz toiletries. Food is very limited in the hotel, so you'll be going out to eat. There are lots of options in downtown Raleigh but the bulk of them would be a bit of a hike away. On-site parking is free and can get crowded when the hotel is busy, but there always seemed to be a space or two available. There is an intersection right next to the building that seemed to have a high number of cars with loud radios and/or mufflers late at night, but that is out of the hotel's control.

Yelp
This hotel did a great job rehabbing the building with a cool retro vibe! My teenage daughter spent 4 days going to the governor's office and I accompanied her along with my 1 year old. Everything about this location was great! It is just 1.5 blocks away from the governor's office and easy walking distance to everything in downtown Raleigh. My daughter could get to her location in under 5 minutes and the baby and I were able to walk the city going to the children's museum, governor's mansion, and loads of shops and restaurants on foot. Our stay was during the week and you could tell many of the other patrons were also there for work and the amazing proximity to government buildings. Yes, the building is older. Having said that the rooms are fresh! New carpet, fresh paint, quiet A/C just to name a few things. They were clearly very mindful of the age of the building while remodeling and honeyed it. The rooms, lobby, bar, outdoor space and even the halls all had smart retro details mixed with modern amenities. The outdoor patio area is awesome! We ate several meals outside and I enjoyed a few very well crafted cocktails during the afternoon when the bar was open and many people coming back from work filled the bar area and outdoor space. Staff were all 10/10! The manager Jamie was great to talk to and gave great advice about the area. Her front end team along with the bartender were all top notch. The house keeping team were also the best I've come across in a long while. They were happy to refresh our room and towels daily even when we didn't leave for the day until lunchtime! We will definitely return here the next time we are in Raleigh and recommend it to all for work or play in the city!

Yelp
The Longleaf Hotel offers an amazing stay in Downtown Raleigh. All of the service was so friendly. The room was modern in addition to being very clean. I like that you get a water carafe that you can refill and that the ice is already bagged. You can walk around to check out spots around the area or grab a drink at their lounge area. A staycation or stay here is a must.

Yelp
Everything you need for a city break- none of the things you don't need or want. Impeccably clean with a heavy lean into style. Great location for walking to restaurants, bars, museums, capitol buildings. Host did a great job explaining the hotel star level system. The 2 stars means no pool, no restaurants. Instead it has a hopping cocktail bar with a generous outdoor lounge where a tiny pool and Cafe were historically. Despite the active lounge scene on a Saturday night, our room was so quiet and cozy. Being right downtown, I expected concrete view, but out upstairs room opened out into mature magnolia trees, giving a tree house feel. The mid- century modern decor is very stylish- not overdone or kitchen, but very thorough, down to the graphic art on the cute city maps and restaurant guides and pocket tissues. I really enjoyed my stay and would book again

Yelp
The Longleaf Hotel has been my choice for staycations and celebrations for about 2 years now. They have been nothing but kind and warm to me as a patron. Their bar is awesome and serves unique cocktails, and has a nice outdoor space. I would recommend Longleaf to anyone who wants a quaint place to stay and enjoy in Raleigh!

Kat M.

Yelp
I had a reservation bc my AC broke down and I just grabbed pajamas and headed over. I mostly use Apple Pay but they don't and I had to cancel my reservation. I don't understand

Tad C.

Yelp
Great retro hotel with style. Meets the 3 C's = Comfortable, clean and cool. In the heart of downtown * Newly renovated *. Very cool Lounge bar vibe *. Great restaurants across the street (go to Mulino across the street) excellent food! Highly recommend this place.

Lacresha M.

Yelp
My daughter was put out of the hotel by Amerie a person at the front desk. Why, because the young lady that booked the room was new and he claimed she was not aware of what she was doing. My daughter came all the way from California and is now outside at 1am and her family is in another state this is very disappointing. He then proceeded to tell my daughter she had to wait until 9am when the manager comes to straighten it all out this is sad. I then tried calling and being very rude and conducting him self in a way that was very unprofessional

Mikey B.

Yelp
Baller! I can't say enough good things. I have been here just for the coffee bar in the mornings, I have visited the patio just for evening cocktails and I just recently stayed over night with my two kids. Not that you have to, but if you can, get the king suite, it's so good. LongLeaf has the mid-century modern retro vibes on lock. Everything is cozy and the staff is great. There's no pool or work out room, if you're looking for that. We never got in our car once we checked in because everything is within walking distance. Plus, it's a nice walk around downtown Raleigh. Really, though, just walk, it's nice. They have hotel snacks, eventually they'll have a delicatessen, but order in or walk to get food. LongLeaf is definitely a cozy stay. I 100% recommend it for visitors and locals wanting to pull off a staycation

Mary B.

Yelp
Was passing through Raleigh for the night and found this gem. Location is great (walkable to many places). The staff were so friendly and the hotel so kitschy and clean. Love the decor. We had a nice cocktail in their lovely outdoor lounge.

Audrey P.

Yelp
Very cool mid century modern vibe in a renovated motel with fun and comfortable outdoor seating. The cocktails are SPOT ON and their nibbles are throwbacks perfect for snacking. I love to come here before dinner downtown or at Mulino's across the street.

Abbey J.

Yelp
Clean, comfortable, safe, and affordable place to stay for a night out in raleigh. Also, within walking distance of most restaurants/bars and although the hotel is located by the train tracks so as it goes by it may wake you up once or twice but the price and cleanliness are worth it. I also wanted to mention they have great customer service.

Rachel C.

Yelp
Such a charming hotel! Inexpensive, cute, all the amenities that you need. We loved their bar and their coffee service. The rooms are spacious and not over crowded. They offer robes and all the little touches that add charm and value to your stay. Lots of adorable seating areas, they also have a beautiful outdoor area with tons of seating. We loved staying here and will return next time we go to Raleigh.

Antonio M.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night in June and this is my new favorite place to stay in Raleigh. Within walking distance of the North Carolina Science Museum and the North Carolina Museum of History, great restaurants, the newly renovated Amtrak Station, and many more restaurants and bars, this renovated hotel has a cool retro vibe and a great staff to boot. Make sure to try a drink at the lounge. The bar staff is super friendly, especially Jane, who went out of her way to create a special drink for my wife when the requested drink was not available. If you need a hotel that is close to the downtown nightlife and activities this is your best choice.

Chrystal J.

Yelp
Stayed here with my family for a couple nights over Thanksgiving. What a pleasant stay! We had the best sleep we have had in a while. The rooms were clean and cozy, and offer one my favorite brands of soap (Malin & Goetz). Loved the decor, especially the lounge area. All of the staff were fantastic. Will definitely stay here if ever in the Raleigh area again.

Jill-ann P.

Yelp
REALLY loved this boutique hotel. The decor is lovely. The bed was super comfortable. The lobby/lounge/courtyard was extremely well done. Tim was gracious! Well done!

Herbie G.

Yelp
Fully renovated vintage hotel with great service and comfortable rooms located in downtown Raleigh. The deck of the hotel lounge is a very pleasant place to enjoy a well made drink in the evening or a fresh made cup of coffee and pastry in the morning. We started recommending this hotel to friends before we even checked out.

Danny R.

Yelp
On the corner of Unpretentious and Special, the hotel bar and lounge is the perfect pitstop to everywhere in Raleigh. The outside courtyard area is comfortable as well as creatively architected and packs a punch for its intimate size. The staff knows how to make a great adult beverage (check out Do Not Disturb #223!) and take care of patrons whether traveled from far away or feet away. (It's a secret for locals in the know). Enjoy!

Lauren W.

Yelp
Enjoyed this hotel for my husbands birthday staycation! The staff were so hospitable at both check in and the lounge. Our room was clean and the perfect size. The lounge area outside was very low key and relaxing. We look forward to going back to stay or just have a few drinks.

Sean S.

Yelp
What a gem. Cool retro mid-century modern, travel lodge style hotel in the heart of Raleigh. Walking distance from down town with lots of bars and restaurants. Had a quite restful night after an evening in their hip retro lounge.

Victoria G.

Yelp
Don't bother, they don't even answer emails sent to them even during this competitive timein the travel business.

Kristin L.

Yelp
Don't let the outside fool you. Interior and rooms are quite nice. It's a bit noisy though as the doors tend to get stuck or not close all the way so you're constantly hearing doors slam which is annoying. The lounge has limited hours which is also a bummer in case you're wanting lunch or something but once it's open it's super rad. The staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Would stay here again if given the opportunity

Jane O.

Yelp
Had a great time staying here! The design is cute, and it was in a great location. However the rooms are small and we could hear every word spoken in the room across the hall. Wish we had the chance to stop by the lounge, the atmosphere looked very inviting!

Mark O.

Yelp
What a great place. Rooms (we had two) were very clean and the hotel is dog friendly. The staff was awesome and welcoming and had bowls for the pup waiting for him. The hotel is walking distance to everything and the lounge is a fun outdoor space with heaters and fire pits for cold weather. It is the only place I will now stay in Raleigh - having stayed downtown on several occasions. Stay here!!

Alex B.

Yelp
Bottomline: This hotel provides a boutique experience at affordable prices. I also can't say enough about the manger - Tim - who was gracious and helpful. The look of the mid-century decor is stylish and comfortable. The rooms were clean and it was clear that all efforts were made to keep the rooms and common spaces safe and bacteria free. The morning coffee is a great perk and the bath soaps all smell yummy. The downtown location is both convenient and quiet. Perhaps the best part is the exceptional management and guest relations. The staff is generally courteous, cheerful and responsive. We traveled with our dog and she was as comfortable as we were! I highly recommend Longleaf for travelers with pets. Oh, and the bar with full cocktail and snack menu has a fun outdoor deck furnished with fire pits and heaters for the cold nights and shady umbrellas for the summer months. Totally fun, comfortable and relaxing experience.

Mitch M.

Yelp
This is a nice, new and clean hotel. I would consider it a boutique hotel that is a converted Econo Lodge. The speakeasy bar in the lobby is inviting and very cool. The soft goods are new and nice, the furniture is modern and new. This is motel-type lodging though, with a small parking lot in the front and overlooking a freeway ramp in the back. It is nice, though, and well taken care of.

Lane L.

Yelp
This place is soo adorable, clean and close to all downtown raleigh has to offer. I will stay here again for sure.

Erin D.

Yelp
Love the remodel and looked super cool so my friend and I stopped there for a drink but the bartender was super rude and told us we couldn't sit in a couple just open seats. He said the seats were saved for some people who were up front. I guess there is a wait list to sit at the bar. Anyway this is fine but the bartender was also super rude when trying to order a drink. I know it just opened but really bad experience.
