The Newstand Coffee and Sandwiches

This place is a tall-ceiling coffee shop vibe. It is in a business tower but it doesn’t feel that way at all. Somehow they’ve made it cozy and inviting inside a giant corporate tower. The coffee is strong, well-sourced, and delicious. The food is all good, especially the sandwiches. They will accommodate any special requests and make sure to go the extra mile to be there for the customer. This place is not cheap, likely because they pay rent in one of the nicest buildings in the city, but they go the extra mile in quality and service, and for that they are worth every penny. Highly recommend this place for coffee, a quick snack or sandwich, and even some vintage finds in their little clothing shop in the back.

I’ve lived in SA most of my whole life and this is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in this city. I had the banh mi. Also had an almond milk latte that was divine. Chocolate chip cookies are super yummy too. Such a cute and cool spot with a vintage clothing store inside to boot. This is our new favorite spot.

Stopped by to try out, having seen many videos on social media, and it did not disappoint! The cashier, Taylor was very welcoming and helpful in recommending my food and drink selection. I got their house yogurt topped with fruit and honey comb, as well as a cortado. Everything was delightful and I will definitely be returning!

I found this place because it was close to my spin studio. It's a great vibe! The staff are so friendly and I honestly want to try everything on the menu. I first got an iced Vietnamese coffee before spin class. It tasted super authentic, it was nice and strong and sweet! It was so good that I came back for two sticky buns, a breakfast sandwich, and the Salmon sandwich. SO GOOD. They also have a very small store in the back with t shirts!

The Newstand serves some of the highest quality food that any coffee shop offers. Their sandwiches are beautifully crafted with intricate flavors that go together perfectly. My favorite is “the times”. Today I got their morning yogurt and fruit which was amazing.

I absolutely love this place. Parking was easy and lots of spaces across the street and in front of the building and additional parking in the garage! They also validate parking too! I was greeted by the friendly staff with a warm smile and was offered all the new items and personal favorites from their colorful menu and it was hard to choose just one favorite. The sandwiches are HUGE! You definitely get what you pay for here. Paired with a Bella loca matcha and I was in heaven. The ingredients all taste so fresh and everything is made to order. I was waiting no time at all till I got my food and drink. The atmosphere is very aesthetically pleasing. Loved looking through the specialty curated vintage shop in the back too after I finished my meal. Definitely a forever regular and will tell anyone and everyone about this place.

Newstand is hands down my favorite local coffee spot. The coffee is consistently excellent—smooth and crafted with care—making it my go-to for coffee, anytime of day. What really sets Newstand apart, though, is its impressive food menu. Far beyond typical coffee shop fare, they offer fresh, thoughtfully prepared options that are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a quick snack. The warm, welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make every visit a pleasure. If you’re looking for top-notch coffee and a surprisingly great meal, Newstand is the place to be!

I have been a few times now to get a solid rating. I tried both The Post and The Union for sandwiches- both were fair priced and very filling. The Post will be my new go to for lunchtime. The coffee program is great, too, serving fresh beans from Proud Mary. If you like things on the sweeter side, the Sweet & Creamy is the drink for you. I’m a classic coffee fan and got a great cappuccino. The atmosphere in the cafe makes it really hard to leave. No details were skipped over in the buildout, and the space is a joy to be in. Great music, great seating, and amazing natural light. They curated a pristine vintage collection in the back of the cafe that is the cherry on top for the space. Can’t wait to go back and spend more time trying other things on the menu. Staff is 10/10 also!
