"Inside of this historic boutique hotel in Wilmington lies a restaurant that’s unapologetically lavish. Grilled branzino filet, turbot Veracruzana, crispy octopus, and confit pork shanks are some of the more extravagant dishes on the menu. Pro-tip: After dinner, go downstairs for a nightcap at Simmer Down, their speakeasy cocktail bar that’s one of the best in America." - Ernest Owens

"The freshest opening in town comes from the team behind Wm. Mulherin’s Sons, a Fishtown hot spot for pasta and wood-fired fare. The Quoin, a hotel and restaurant in a lovingly renovated downtown brownstone, specializes in the same delicious Italian cuisine as its Philly sibling. Before dinner, visit Simmer Down, the glowy speakeasy-style bar downstairs, for a well-made cocktail; after dinner, cap the night upstairs at Wilmington’s only rooftop bar." - Ernest Owens, Sarah Maiellano

"The extremely cute Quoin Hotel is the best place to stay if you’re making a weekend out of your visit to Wilmington. Located inside an old bank, this new spot has retained lots of historic character, but with modern amenities like huge beds, sunny windows, and cozy robes. The dining options are also great, with a café, speakeasy, restaurant, and rooftop bar." - maddy sweitzer lamme

The Quoin is a wonderful place to dine in downtown Wilmington. I have been a few times for dinner and this is the second year in a row that we have booked The Quoin for our holiday dinner and both years were spectacular. We usually have a party of about 20 people. The food is excellent and the service is top notch. Highly recommend.

The only reason I gave service 4 stars is because my food was barely warm almost cold. Other than that food was good our server was very knowledgeable. My favorite thing I tried off the winter menu was the butternut squash with brown butter sage and shaved truffle.

The Quoin in Wilmington, Delaware, is a standout dining experience. The restaurant combines modern elegance with a cozy atmosphere, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. The menu features creative, seasonal dishes made from fresh local ingredients, each beautifully presented and full of flavor. I especially enjoyed the pork shank—it was tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The service is exceptional, with a knowledgeable and attentive staff that elevates the entire experience. With a great wine and cocktail selection, The Quoin is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable meal in Wilmington. Highly recommended!

Tried a new place in Wilmington, Delaware called Quoin Hotel & Restaurant. Lots of potential in my opinion. We started out on the patio, but it was a bit buggy and lots of street noise so we moved inside. Looks like a great bar and the seating was excellent. Our server was terrific (Bridgette) and super knowledgeable, but service was a little inconsistent considering we had an early seating. I had the duck & pappardelle which was fantastic and the exact right portion size, but only lukewarm. I followed that with the Bronzino with fennel and citrus salad. Really light phenomenal entree! I finished with the chocolate almond torta which was the perfect way to end the meal. Evan’s brick grilled chicken had great taste but was lukewarm. They also neglected to remove the tomatoes even after we had an entire pre-meal conversation about tomatoes and cilantro. Ginny and Evan both loved their shrimp fettuccine (again not quite hot) and Ginny thought the sticky toffee pudding was better than her favorite from Gordon Ramsey!! Well worth a try but be careful about parking (we valeted).

Google
This resturant is incredible. The atmosphere is great with the open kitchen. It was fun watching the chef fillet the bronzino. The cocktails are true craft cocktails. They make their own house syrups and fresh squeeze juice every day. 🤌 The food.....incredible. everything had so much flavor. We ordered the pork shank that fell right off the bone, and the wyagu steak that was cooked perfectly and had a great buttery texture/flavor. We had the butternut squash, great flavor. Like little candy bites. The server was very knowledgeable about all the gluten free options as someone in our party had a strict diet. Onky 4 stars for service because they forgot the scallops that we ordered. But still impressed overall with this resturant! Will definitely go back.

I came for my birthday dinner, and food was great! I especially liked the crispy octopus and the sticky toffy pudding. The ambiance of the speakeasy downstairs was nice. I really liked the wall paintings.

The Quoin is a whole vibe. I loved it. They have a rooftop lounge, an exceptional restaurant, and a speakeasy in the basement. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. My only complaint is how small the portion sizes were. I wish they gave you a little bit more. This place is a definite recommendation from me.

I’m surprised it’s taken me this long to get to this restaurant in downtown Wilmington. The Quoin is located in the Quoin hotel on market street in downtown Wilmington. If you are in Wilmington, make an effort to dine at this restaurant. Staff- the servers were all attentive and courteous! They are helpful and friendly. Food- all of our dishes were excellent! The Maitake mushroom side dish was so flavorful, highly recommend it! The steak was prepared perfectly! Drinks- they do have a great selection of wine, beer and cocktails. The cocktails were done so well and professional! The specialty cocktails were unique and not the typical cocktails you see at every restaurant.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant connected to a boutique hotel & a speakeasy in the basement. They do have valet parking if you aren't able to find a spot along the main drag way. We visited the speakeasy in the basement (Simmer Down) for a pre-dinner cocktail then went up to grab seats at the bar. The restaurant isn't very large but has ample seating & you did have a view of the kitchen & all the dishes being prepared. The bar area was large and full when we visited. We were greeted quickly & throughout our visit the service was very good. They were busy, but yet attentive. Ordered two drinks that were delicious (Elysian Martini & a Sidecar). All of the drinks were interesting & intriguing. Ordered the fig piadina as an appetizer & it was delicious. The crust was soft & the flavors worked well together. This was the perfect size for an appetizer & was shared by 2 people. For dinner, we ordered Pappardelle & the Wagyu Flank steak. Both dishes were fabulous. They were also a great small meal portion (don't expect an overflowing plate). The flavors were great & the presentation was lovely. Wasn't planning on dessert but saw the Quoin Sundae with olive oil gelato & was intriguing so we went ahead and ordered that. Wowzer! It was delicious! It was such a light & refreshing dessert that wasn't overly sweet. The grapefruit sorbet & the other additions to the sundae were fantastic. A great place to eat. Would visit again. The hotel was interesting & seemed like a cool place to stay. Would visit again!

Yelp
I recently visited The Quoin Restaurant on December 31st with my sister, eager to celebrate New Year's Eve. While the venue's aesthetics were impressive, our experience was marred by several issues. Upon arrival, multiple staff members questioned the presence of my service dogs, requesting certifications and paperwork. According to the ADA, businesses may only ask if the dog is a service animal required due to a disability and what tasks it has been trained to perform; they cannot request documentation. This lack of awareness was disappointing and increased my anxiety. Additionally, comments from other patrons about the presence of my service dogs at times made us feel either unwelcome or pressured to permit people to pet them. Mind you my service dogs are well trained and tethered to me 100% of the time. I'm also a teacher and they are in the classroom with me at all times. This isn't their fault or mine. We left before 9 PM, unable to enjoy the evening as planned. It's disheartening that a venue with such potential lacks understanding of ADA regulations and inclusivity.

Yelp
After visiting here a few more times since my last review, I definitely can say that I recommend dining here for dinner. The staff is always attentive and informative and the dishes are excellent. Will definitely return in the future.

Yelp
The Quoin is an amazing spot for a date night! We had the pleasure of dining in their cozy dining room accompanied by delightful live music. The ambiance was perfect with velvety cushions, candlelight, and a welcoming bar area. We opted to share several courses throughout the evening, starting with antipasti, primi, and secondi dishes. It truly made our meal an experience. The green goddess salad was an absolute standout, one of the best I've ever had - fresh, full of herbs, and incredibly flavorful. The ravioli was delicious, and the roasted corn added a surprising but delightful twist to the dish. The rigatoni was also superb, with a rich flavor that made it a more substantial option. Finally, the wagyu steak was an excellent choice, perfectly prepared and incredibly tasty. Our waitress, Bridget, was exceptional. She provided fantastic recommendations and clearly had expert knowledge of the menu. Overall, The Quoin exceeded our expectations with its wonderful atmosphere, delicious food, and attentive service. It's definitely a place we look forward to returning to!

Yelp
First let me say the food taste and quality was very good. The atmosphere and service excellent. Portions were extremely small. i walked away hungry and I usually do no finish my meals at other higher end restaurants. To give you an example the $20 Scallop appetizer was one very small scallop on a shell that was on top of a large bed of salt! Yes I said salt! They could have put it in risotto or skipped the salt which was a total waste of money. The scallop was so small it was not even worthy of sharing with another person. When it was served we all just laughed. I don't need to go back to a place that was more Foo-Foo than anything else. I wish I took a picture of the portions.

Yelp
A nice atmosphere, especially If seated near the open kitchen where the thrill of meal prep keeps you salivating-ly entertained. The service felt personal, whereby my cup was always full- the gentleman pouring felt like the PRINCE (the purple one) of sommeliers. The food, however, more hit or miss w/ dishes like the Crispy Octopus having the nicest firm texture (highly recommend) & other plates like the Tortellini, DOA, cold & somewhat mushy. The small plate costs are high for this type of inconsistency. I also found the flavor pairings a bit muted for my taste. The opulent lower level bar/lounge makes you want to hang around after dinner; I'd be a liar if I didn't say I had a nice time. But this foodie needs the dishes set before me to match the aesthetics- the high promise of the menu price & description, in order to to be satisfied.

Yelp
Very very strange experience. Went for Sunday night which is the limited menu as shown. First of all, the ambience is beyond lovely. The drinks, the wines and the appetizers were stellar. I tried to order the only vegetarian entree on the menu - artichoke pasta - and they ran out so turned it into a wild boar pasta instead. I asked for something else vegetarian and they had no options other than what I already ate. The place has unisex bathrooms. And they can't make offer a vegetarian entree - are you serious? They offered to make me a salad after I just finished a Caesar. Beyond ridiculous. I'm sure it's lovely on other nights but this visit was like a strange time warp and you have one chance to make a first impression. I left not eating dinner when we really wanted to eat and drink more. A shame. But guess what? They did bring the wild boar pasta out to the vegetarian - see photo. My partner had cold chicken parmigiana and was as hungry as I was when we left so we dined elsewhere.

Yelp
We were in town visiting GF's family and met up with one of her old friends for dinner. She is very well acquainted with the area's food scene and provided a few options for us to look into for our dinner together. The Quoin won the ticket mainly because it provided the best vegetarian options. Supposedly, it is owned by the same people who own W. M. Mulherin's in Philly which I absolutely adore. This was on a Tuesday evening during the holiday season on a particularly cold day and there were plenty of tables available. The ambiance is warm and inviting. I really like the interior aesthetic which includes an open concept kitchen. We sat at the bar and the bartender provided excellent service throughout. The cocktail menu was creative but I didn't know most of the ingredients listed for many of the cocktails. Not only am I a foodie bitch, but I also have previously been a bartender and have quite the bar at home so I am typically on the more educated side regarding cocktail ingredients. They must have made some of that shit up lmao. I kid. I ordered something with gin, lillet blanc, lemon, and some other shit and it was very good. It was so good, in fact, my two dining companions proceeded to order it for their next round and then one of them followed it up for a sequel on our third round. I like to switch it up and ordered their tequila cocktail (this is one where I don't think I recognized any of the other ingredients) and this one was disappointing. For some reason, there was only one menu for the 3 of us to share, which was a challenge. If you are a vegetarian that doesn't like mushrooms, there is one dish that isn't an appetizer to order so that was an easy decision for me. I gave the reigns to my dining companions to order the rest and supported their decisions: proscuitto pizza fritti: for some reason, we were all expecting an actual pizza here but this dish is just fried dough with a pile of proscuitto and a drizzle of balsamic and something white, presumably the stracciatella. The fried dough was good as you can't really fuck up fried bread but otherwise this was quite disappointing. maryland blue crab crositini: not for me but GF and other dining companion enjoyed. When asked now, GF says "delicious". She provided more details last night that I swore I would remember but as probably everyone saw coming, I do not. grilled gem lettuce caesar: I tend to not be particularly partial for grilled lettuce but this was better than my previous experiences. The dressing was tasty and this was a nice way to shovel some veggies down there. potato quoins: spectacular. fantastic. crispy on the outside. warm, luscious, and deliciously seasoned potato on the inside. The accompanying dill creme fraiche really hit the spot. Must order in a restaurant named after this shit. For my main I ordered the campanelle, the only vegetarian dish without mushrooms. I'm grateful they even offered this because many restaurants just assume every vegetarian must eat mushrooms. The campanelle is served in a pecan pesto with delicata squash. This was a highly unusual pesto and while I think the original basil is the OG, this was an interesting twist. Providing bread for the table is a lost art and would have been an excellent vehicle to soak up the extra sauce. The portion was also quite generous. The pasta itself could have been a touch more al dente. GF ordered the tortellini with a truffle sauce. When asked, she says "DELICIOUS" more emphatically than for the crostini. She adds that the truffle flavor was applied well, not overpowering. Her main criticism is that the portion was severely lacking. She actually ate at least 1/3 of my pasta because there were about like 5 tortellini on the plate. It did feel a little skimpy given the $24 price tag. Other dining companion ordered the half pound dry aged burger. She reported at the time that it was overcooked above her request for medium. This was served with quoins as well instead of fries. We had a very enjoyable meal here, excellent food for the most part but a few details that could be ironed out if they're looking to provide that perfect dining experience that the prices on their menu suggest.

Marie H.

Yelp
The three star rating is just for the restaurant ambiance and menu design. The restaurant is beautiful. The menu, on paper, is perfect. Besides the drinks, the execution of the menu is severely lacking. It's like the chef wrote the menu and walked out without training anyone. We were 10 mins late and the host was like - your reservation was at 6pm. I'm not sure what we can do. He literally said "we might have to pivot". It was just an odd way to handle our tardiness. My pasta, texture wise, was great but it was salty and so greasy. Another pasta dish was too buttery and was barely warm. Dishes came out at odd times (not too far off each other but enough that it was awkward). Our waitress insisted that the plates were meant to be shared even though they are small portion sizes. She also moved our dishes around the table, telling us, who ordered what, even though we were supposed to be sharing anyway (diff people brought diff dishes to the table at diff times). She brought to go containers for us and when we hadn't put our meals away, she insisted she do it for us, and then placed the big bag right in front of my husband on the table. Kinda rude. We also had a difficult time getting more drinks at the table. Def a place to go for drinks, at either bar, but as for dining, not a great experience.

Yelp
Dined on a Friday night around 7:30. It wasnt too crowded. The restaurant is very nice, dimly lit and looks upscale but casual attire is acceptable. The menu is on the smaller end with crostinis, small plates (which include a couple salad options) and larger plates. There are some vegetarian options but not much if you are vegan. The server also noted that some of the plates could be prepared vegetarian. The food was good and the ambience was nice. We also headed downstairs after our meal to the speak easy in the underground level. Very nice place for drinks and conversation. A fireplace in the back and music playing. It was getting a little more loud and lively as the night went on. Had a great mocktail called the seesaw.

Yelp
I always have the best experience at the quoin! Our second time here and it is our favorite special occasion restaurant. The food here just makes you happy. The menu is set up in 3 courses and the delivery of each course is expertly timed. The menu is seasonal and is always changing but I will say every pasta dish here is a no brainer, you have to get at least one! To start we ordered the Maryland Crab Crostini and it was phenomenal! Perfectly executed with lump crab but still well balanced with a creamy sauce. For the middle course we ordered 2 seasonal pasta dishes and the flavor profile of both blew me away! If I ever see wild boar ragu on their menu again I would order it in the blink of an eye. For the final entree we ordered the pork shank which came with the best kale side I've ever experienced. A pro tip from the water was to order a small first course item to come out with the entree to have an additional side which we of course did! The potato side was a perfect addition coming with a lemon dill sauce. The food is good but the vibes are even better! A beautiful mid century setting with a grand bar and great dinner music. The wait staff changes your plating and silverware in between each course. This is such a great dining experience if you're comfortable with the price point. We love it here for a special night out.

Yelp
My family and I had such a great dinner at quoin (pronounced coin)! It's such a beautiful hotel and the restaurant is designed beautifully. The manager kindly told us a bit about the history of the building and offered to give us a tour since we were so interested. The service resembles that of fine dining but still relaxed and personable. Brandon did an excellent job putting up with our party of 5 (dad jokes, order changes, several plates of bread, etc). He also made sure to congratulate me on my new job (via celebration notes on Resy), and asked if we had to be out at a certain time for a show. The bartenders Dutch and Lena made us fantastic cocktails. Both my parents are picky with drinks and my dad loved his espresso martinis and my mom raved about her amaretto sour. My sister ordered a grasshopper for dessert to share with my mom and it was the best they ever had, and they were kind enough to share the recipe! My parter, sister and I all enjoyed cocktails off the menu with dinner and we all agreed it was the highlight. We ordered a lot of food! Rigatoni, fried eggplant, ancient grain salad, endive salad, Caesar salad to start. The rigatoni was perfectly Al dente and some of the best I've ever had. Mains included wagyu, chicken, bran ink filet, pork shank, and spaghetti, side of potato quoins . The mains were good but the starters were absolutely excellent. My family all enjoys creative and unique food, however some flavors might not be for everyone. We had a great brownie sundae served with some really cool long silver spoons. They also treated us to some passion fruit sorbet and everything had candles for me and my mom's "half birthday" celebrations. We checked out the downstairs bar, Simmer Down, which used to be a bank vault and it was a really great vibe. We also took a look at the rooftop which was cozy inside and looked fun outside as well. Busy up there Friday at prime time! I will definitely be back to have some drinks at the bar, or maybe for dinner before a show at the Queen across the street.

Robin C.

Yelp
We stopped in after work for happy hour on the rooftop and were really happy! I had the seasonal Particularly Prickly cocktail and we ordered the cheese and salami boards to share. Everything was delicious (albeit super pricy). Service was awesome, plenty of places to sit - including shade! Very refined atmosphere without being fussy. Will definitely return

Rachel B.

Yelp
We stopped into The Quoin for a quick brunch prior to our Amtrak train from Wilmington station. There was not much open on a Sunday afternoon in Wilmington. We were in abit of a time crunch, but the service was prompt, and that put us at ease. The restaurant was really nice! They have a beautiful open kitchen with wood fires. It is a soothing sight. The decor is stylish and modern. Even at brunch, it was dimly lit in there. The waitress took our order right away. We ordered avocado toasts, home fries, bacon and orange juice. The food was quick to come out, and everything was very fresh. The avocado toast was really good. I also loved the side salad. The bacon was standard, but the home fries were really awesome. They were perfectly crispy and had flakey salt. They give ketchup in tiny single-use bottles, which was cute and sanitary. Overall, we thought the food was delicious! We would come back again if we were in the area. They give you the option to pay your bill via QR code through the Toast App, which is very convenient and quick.

Yelp
Great food. Creative and unique. Great drinks, speakeasy style. Great service. Great vibe. Big city feel in this small town. Forgot to mention our bartender Kristin (and the servers who brought out our dishes) made our experience all the better.

Kimberly H.

Yelp
Our drinks were nice and strong. Good quality stuff. The complimentary bread was sourdough and the butter was nice and creamy. I ordered the clams casino which were pretty good. My entree was the Cornish hen. It was a little dry. It was served over sweet potato. The kale was very salty. But once you incorporate am of the flavors into one bite, it was decent & savory. Everyone at our table enjoyed the appetizers and entrées as well. They lost 1 star because our food and drinks took awhile to come out. Otherwise, it was a cool ambience.

Kathy S.

Yelp
The food was exceptional. The service was fantastic. The place was clean and appealing to the eye. I would definitely recommend this place. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Vincent J.

Yelp
There were four of us, and we had a magnificent time for our brunch! The food was exceptional...only outdone by the perfect service that we received from Joshua!! He was a breath of fresh air when sometimes service can be skeptical. We explained to him that we were there to celebrate the life of my mother-in-law, and he made it the special occasion it was meant to be. He's definitely someone that you would want to take care of you and your party. Kudos to the Quoin.

Jay W.

Yelp
Great rooftop with great staff and the ambiance it's amazing. Drinks are a little pricey but worth it overall

Jonathan N.

Yelp
If the service was better, I would probably rate this closer to 4. Ambience is great and the food was good. We went last night in a party of 5. Drinks order and water/ sparkling water took a long time to come and we had to keep requesting more water - no attention paid to this at all. Our server also promised bread for the table and it didn't come. While some of us were still eating , the plates and glasses were whipped away from the table before we could stop them. Individual helpings are minute but well executed. Prawns were spicy with no mention of this on the menu or by the server. Desserts were outstanding. We will probably go back to give it another shot.

Lauren S.

Yelp
Everything was exceptional!! Excellent food, service, and ambience. Our waitress Madeline was amazing. My husband and I ordered the fig piadina as an app, split the tortellini, and each had the Wagyu and everything was outstanding. This is definitely our new favorite restaurant. Highly recommend checking out their cocktail bar downstairs "Simmer Down" before dinner.

Hiba A.

Yelp
I would give this place a 3.5, however there was a total debacle with our check. We initially had a mocktails/cocktails on the rooftop along with a charcuterie board. I have a TLC mocktail , which was delicious, the cheese board, however, was brought to us without any utensils or napkins. We then went downstairs to the restaurant, we were seated immediately, with the option of sitting indoors or outdoors. We chose just sit outside as it was quite nice. Our waitress, was friendly and helpful. We ordered a burrata appetizer to start, and each tried a different pasta as our entrée. My friend got a mushroom tortellini which was delicious but way too salty. I tried the rigatoni which is perfectly fine, the burrata portion of the burrata appetizer was incredibly small. My favorite part about the meal would be the fresh pita that came with our burrata appetizer. The service was great, and despite a fairly empty dining area they seemed overwhelmed. Maybe they were busy with room service. Overall the place seems to serve mediocre overpriced food which is why I would not come back.

Linda M.

Yelp
What a treat to dine here in this beautiful restaurant in a beautiful boutique hotel! Both dinners were amazing - I had a fall off the bone pork shank dinner - so good! I cannot remember what my husband had, but he loved it! If ever in Wilmington DE again, we will stay ay this hotel and dine in their restaurant!

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Wonderful food selection . Service is great. Ambiance, great place to meet friends for a drink and dinner. Great staff

AJ L.

Yelp
First timers, celebrating our 5th anniversary on a Friday evening @ 1745. Brandon greeted us by congratulating our 5 years which my wife absolutely loved. Outside seating is spectacular. Food and beverage selections are incredible. We will definitely visit again. Want to check out their rooftop bar.

Holly A.

Yelp
I stayed here for work on the recommendation of a colleague. I only had dinner in the restaurant one night, but it was lovely! The staff were incredibly friendly and made great recommendations! The food was good, as were the drinks. And the vibes were very comfortable. It was a little on the pricey side, but I'd definitely eat here again next time I'm in town.

Will P.

Yelp
Food, service and ambiance all superb. Every element was Excellent . Highly recommended!

Emma T.

Yelp
It was my first time at this restaurant last week. My family and I made a reservation to celebrate my graduation. I was very impressed. Our sever for dinner, Brandon, was amazing. He was very attentive, polite, & made recommendations off the menu. He also offered to take our picture after our meal. The food was so good. We ended up ordering several things from each section of the menu, which I would recommend if you like sharing. Before dinner we got drinks on the rooftop bar. It was very vibe-y with live music. Will definitely be back !

Alex T.

Yelp
Restaurant itself is beautiful, drinks were great, but the food menu was lacking. Not very vegetarian friendly. I would go back for cocktails or even dessert, but not dinner.

Maria M.

Yelp
Our dining experience was INCREDIBLE! The food and service was tremendous. Our server gave us a brief history of the chef and restaurant which led to some great recommendations. He did not steer us wrong! The octopus! I'll come back just for that! But all of our food was delicious and meticulously prepared & served. We had such a great time watching the kitchen in action during our meal. I can't wait to go back again. Such a romantic place yet warm & welcoming. It was a lively dinner with some of the best food I've ever had! Kudos to the Quoin Restaurant - we WILL be back!

Jblack M.

Yelp
The ambiance is lovely. We ate ate the restaurant and the food was ok. There were a lot of variations on really god basics, that I don't love. They do carry my favorite wine, so all was forgiven. The rooftop and speakeasy bars are worth stopping in.

Brianna Y.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've had in the area! The atmosphere in the space was elevated yet cozy with an open kitchen against the back wall and a bar near the entrance. The menu is creative and flavorful, and I enjoyed ordering everything to share. My partner and I split 6 dishes, 3 antipasti (endive salad, tuna tartare, crab crostini) and 3 primi (octopus, prawns, rigatoni). Everything was delicious, and portions were enough that we came hungry and left perfectly content, leaving for another glass of wine and their incredible sticky toffee pudding. I would pass on the tuna tartare as it wasn't as flavorful as everything else on the menu, but I would definitely reorder everything else. Brandon was our server and offered Michelin quality service - attentive, offered excellent recommendations, detailed in descriptions of the items. A must-visit if you're in the area!

David H.

Yelp
Our dinner on Friday before Xmas Eve was very good with excellent service. A bit pricy with smaller portions but the quality of the food was excellent. The drinks were fairly priced and delicious! However, caution, we used vallet parking from the restaurant/hotel and we had several things stolen from our car. I assumed vallet would have security and I left a wallet closed up in the glove box. Unfortunately we had a credit card, selective bank card and some of the cash stolen. They were careful in what was taken so we wouldn't notice immediately! Of course $1,000's was charged and we've been working with the bank since...ugh! As a follow up, the restaurant/hotel addressed the issue immediately. They were very professional and filed claims with the parking authority! Thanks...

Gail S.

Yelp
The food and service are excellent. The margarita pizza is every bit as good as those served in Naples Italy!

We ate at the Quoin restaurant for our anniversary dinner, and everything about the experience was incredible. The food was delicious, service was outstanding, and drinks were stellar. Our server was very knowledgeable about each dish, and she was perfectly attentive without being overbearing. She also wished us a happy anniversary, which was such a nice personal touch. We ordered the beet crostini, fried artichoke, charred carrots, burrata, and brick chicken. Would highly recommend all of them, but the burrata is a must. It's sitting on a bed of super flavorful pesto and comes with some of their delicious bread lightly toasted. We ended the night on the chocolate Bavarian dessert and an espresso martini. So. Good. We were pleasantly surprised that everything was so delicious based on former yelp reviews. If you're a foodie and into cool ambience, this is your spot. Also recommend going up or downstairs for a nightcap at one of the other hotel bars. Very happy to see a space like this in Wilmington!

Yelp
The food is fabulous. I could not decide what to have, so ordered half the menu. The corn agnolotti, fried artichokes, pork shank and Branzino were sublime! The service is extraordinary. We have been a few times and the service is friendly, always there when you need them but never intrusive. If you are looking to extend the experience have a drink at the speakeasy downstairs! The coolest atmosphere in the tri state area.

Yelp
Great food! Brandon the server was great. Would come back. The Rotolo pasta was delicious.

Yelp
We started out with great hopes for the Quoin. Apparently, we did not live up to the server's expectations, and as a result got lackluster service. Granted, they were busy, granted, we did not order steak and each only had a glass of wine, but the size of the check should not mean we need to earn good service , it should happen automatically. One of the dishes was undercooked and it took until all 4 in the party had finished their meals to get someone to come over to take it back to be finished. We were trying to get the waiter's attention to pay the check, but he was too busy looking over what tips he got from another table to even notice us. AND, please don't call me 'dear', 'sweetie' or any of the other condescending terms relegated to women. It's not a diner, or maybe it is. You can't take the Wilmington out of... The food was fine, portions relative to price, the restaurant loud and marginally aesthetically appealing with no cohesive design and a look completely unrelated to the era of the building. It's as if they can't decide who they're trying to appeal to or what they are. We definitely won't go back.

Yelp
We had a lovely dinner this weekend at the Quoin Restaurant. The menu had a lot of great choices, and we ended up with 2 crostini and 4 small plates, as they had such interesting options. Our favorite was the charred rainbow carrots with figs and Creme Fraiche. It was divine. The service was fantastic - our server was attentive and able to accurately describe the various dishes. The cocktail menu was also fantastic. The restaurant is relatively new but you couldn't tell, as they had their act together. I look forward to going back!

Yelp
Food was good, but totally undermined by deplorable service. Two and a half hours for dinner. Got our desserts (to go) only when we got up and put our coats on! If you can't deliver, then don't promise and overcharge. Stay away!

Yelp
This was my second visit to The Quoin Restaurant. After an absolutely abysmal first visit with an out of town guest in December, 2022, I decided to give The Quoin a second visit. Unfortunately, it was just as awful as my first visit. The good points: 1. The space is beautiful. 2. The hostess was very pleasant and accommodating. 3. The food (when it arrived and the right items sent) was very well seasoned and flavorful. 4. The bottle of red wine we ordered was served at proper cellar temperature with a slight chill and proper, large stemware was provided. The Bad points: 1. As we were seated at 6:50pm, no one came to our table for 20 minutes. 2. We finally asked a server working tables near us if he could assist us. He reluctantly agreed. 3. After another 30 minutes, we had to ask him if he would take our order. 4. Two thirds of our first course arrived 30 minutes later. One of our party of three's first course (a salad) never did arrive, even after repeated requests for it. 5. Course number two (pasta for the table) arrived while my guests were still finishing their first course. The previous plates were still on the table and the table was not marked with silverware for the second course. 6. Our water glasses remained empty during the course of our meal until we requested (often) they be replenished. 7. A completely unidentified course that we didn't order arrived at our table with no explanation. We explained that this was not our order. It was taken away. 8. Our third course, entrees, arrived over an hour later after repeated requests of "when can we expect this course to arrive?". My branzino fish entree was surprisingly marked on the table with a steak knife? 9. We asked for our dessert course to go as we were fed up at this point. 10. We departed after 10pm. As a long time resident of Wilmington, I'm glad to see new higher end establishments entering the Downtown dining scene. Unless Ownership and Management of The Quoin completely revise and rethink their service program and staff training, overall Customer Experiences like ours will have customers looking for alternate places for fine dining in Wilmington.

Yelp
Our waiter, Chase, was absolutely wonderful. He was very friendly and attentive. Will be coming back here for sure!

Yelp
Fabulous ambiance from rooftop bar where the mixologists know their craft to the fine dining and Speakeasy in the basemen. Enjoyed a great selection of foods for 7 attendees served with fine win. Just a delightful time. Will go again and agai.

Yelp
There are a lot of upscale, very expensive restaurants that have opened up in N. DE lately where I feel like I'm in New York City rather than Wilmington. We've tried some of them and avoided others but the Quion does not disappoint. First, the food is excellent and you get a decent sized portion for what the price tag is, unlike many of the other new restaurants we've tried in the area. The food is also inventive but not too over the top. So if you're not a foodie, that's okay. The service is always excellent as well. The wait staff, especially our server last night was a lot of fun. The first time we went was a very nice experience but we were seated next to a big party. Everything was fine until we were waiting and waiting and waiting for our entrees. I started complaining to my husband and the manager must have heard because next thing I know we're getting a glass of wine and an appetizer on the house. We were celebrating our anniversary yesterday and decided to go back there. The experience was fantastic. Again, delicious food and excellent service. The complaint I have is the wine list. The wine list is unaffordable. The least expensive bottle of wine is $50 and that's the one we ordered. Yeah, we were those people. Most of the wine is between $90 and hundreds of dollars and that's just obnoxious. This is fxxxxxx DELAWARE. There are people who go to this restaurant who may not have that kind of money that want to treat themselves to a bottle of wine. But you can't treat yourself to a bottle of wine when your wine list is that expensive. There are other restaurants that have opened up in Delaware that we are avoiding because of that. While we can afford that price tag, we won't pay for that because we want to retire some day. While you were there, make time to visit the speakeasy downstairs and the rooftop bar upstairs. Both very fun. Again. The glasses of wine are expensive but they give you a decent sized pore so maybe that's what we need to do. Moving forward is just get glasses rather than bottles. Who knows? This inflation is out of control and businesses are taking advantage. Other than that, we will be back on our next special occasion.

Yelp
Have been here twice for dinner. The dining room is amazing. The food and service were very very good. Definitely a go back place. The first time there we visited the roof top bar this was great too.

Yelp
We had such a great dinner here tonight! When we first arrived we were sat near the kitchen which was a little too hot for my fiancé and they gladly moved us! We had a great server Brandon who was full of enthusiasm. The food was delicious, especially the corn agnolotti.

Yelp
We have been a number of times over the past few months and had a wonderful experience each time. The main restaurant space is nicely designed with a good vibe. We had a number of items on the menu, including the octopus, two pastas, and the pork shank. The wine list is comprehensive from a number of regions. The rooftop bar is very cool, and overall the Quoin is the best restaurant in Wilmington.

Yelp
A good restaurant still suffering from some growing pains. Was very noisy for us due to happy hour at the bar although we were told that was fairly unusual. Still could use some noise treatments. Service was friendly but our waiter disappeared for a long stretch. Food was good, although my wife enjoyed her chicken maybe more than I enjoyed my hanger steak. Still the steak was a perfect medium rare with some nice accompaniments. Menu seems a little limited in selection. Striving to be a high end restaurant but not there yet so seemed overpriced.
