At Red Cat Kitchen, you’ll find a cozy, art-filled space serving up creative, ever-changing New American dishes with a local twist, all just a hop from the ferry.
"Just thinking about this place makes us wish we were sitting at the bar with a summery cocktail in hand and food on the way. There’s a lot to love about this art-filled stop that’s mere steps from the Oak Bluffs ferry. The food is some of the most interesting on the island and the menu changes constantly—order the oyster pan roast that’s more of a creamy stew with oysters and bread for dipping if it’s available. The warm and friendly staff pours rock-solid cocktails too, and if you get there at the right time, snag a seat on their patio." - tanya edwards

"The old building housing Red Cat Kitchen has been sold, but the restaurant will endure for 'decades to come.' Maintaining it is reportedly a priority for the new landlords. The building dates back to 1858 and used to house a restaurant called Zapotec, followed by Ken N’ Beck. When chef Ben DeForest took over the space in 2012, he renamed the restaurant Red Cat Kitchen after a restaurant he ran in the 1990s in West Tisbury. He and executive chef Max Rodegast serve an ever-changing menu of 'local-whenever-possible' cuisine." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal
